I went into Williams Sonoma in Westlake Village and was immediately approached by Hala. I wasn't sure what item would work for me with regard to air frying and I also wanted an electric kettle. Her knowledge was spot on. She answered all of my questions and I ended up buying the Breville toaster oven air fryer and the Chefmate kettle. I'm extremely happy with both. I will go back whenever I need another kitchen item (I love to cook) and make sure I ask for Hala. I've always found quality items in this store. The variety of stuff they have is impressive. And it is all very good to professional quality. I have also always received good service here. The ladies have always been cheerful, approachable and knowledgeable. My only gripe is their policy of no returns on food. They take this policy too far. Non-perishable, unopened items like tea or gift sets, should be returnable if presented back in a reasonable time frame. Perhaps one week. Obviously, not everyone has the same tastes. If one is gifted a food item from here and it remains unopened, and the giftee would prefer, say a different flavor or a different item altogether, in my opinion, they should be able to return/exchange the item. Otherwise, nice store and very good service in my experience. read more

And the two employees, even though I spoke to both of them refused to speak back to me and ignored me And then helped other customers and not me Does nobody believe in customer service anymore? Yelp Review (Fact-Only, One-Year Anniversary) buyer beware One year ago, just days before Thanksgiving 2024 when the store was very busy, I purchased a French-made mandoline at the Williams Sonoma in Thousand Oaks. The cashier opened the box briefly, closed it and described it as "the best mandoline in the U.S." I returned it shortly after (a few days) because I realized I would not use a professional kitchen tool since I cook occasionally. During the return, the staff first focused on a missing certificate. If there was no certificate now and I hadn't opened the box at home, there wasn't a certificate when they sold the item to me. After that, I saw that there was residue on the blade and parts, indicating the product had been previously used. Because the source of the residue was unknown, I raised a concern about basic health requirements for food-contact equipment. I asked why she doesn't hold the store to the same standards to which she holds customers. Since I had not opened the box I could see her escalating while I was more puzzled trying to recognize her triggers to not make a scene... holidays and all ... why ruin everyone's mood. To avoid creating a scene in the store, I stepped outside and called the manager from my car. I explained that I was still on-site and was disappointed in how the return was handled. A 20% discount was offered, but the call did not address the condition of the item nor the related health and safety concerns. I returned to the store once after this incident, but I could not enjoy the experience the way I had at other Williams Sonoma locations in Santa Monica and Sherman Oaks. This review marks the one-year anniversary of the incident. ... I still have not made dishes that would require the best mandolin available in the US. AND IF ... when I do, I'll get it from Amazon... they actually do not resell used items. I never dreamed that those words would hit a page.... BTW... I needed a new Chefs knife. Hala and Leslie were both so helpful. Their detailed knowledge was excellent. I was allowed to test the knifes I was interested in purchasing. What a difference that made! Seeing how each knife fit in my hand was extremely important. I would highly recommend this store. read more

When i first started coming here I found the staff to be "bothered" to do anything extra, maybe becuse it was around Christmas? I was in again last week, called about an order I placed on line for store pickup, Kim helped me , went the extra mile at every step and really changed my attitude about the store . In person it was an even better . Thanks Kim for helping with the thermometer ! Appreciate all the extra work you put into finding the rechargeable thermometer in the incoming stock . I had put my thermometer in my microwave to show my handiman the morning AM feeezing temp so he could find then air leak. i got distracted by a phone call and accidentally turned on the microwave and fried my thermometer . it took about 5 seconds and i caught it before it caught fire but the horrible bleach smell from the LED panel being fried really stunk up my kitchen . I went to this store was and really disappointed in the level of customer service, only 3 people were in the entire store and there was more staff than customers, only one person checking out or making a return it was confusing what was actually going on , we were behind them , no one offered us help or greeted us in 45 mins we were in the store , after waiting in line for 20 mins a woman walks up and says the line start there and nothing else in a very aggressive tone , we follow her and I say hello how are you today she is obviously is a bad mood , nothing was replied , she checks us out . we leave and it was one of the most unfriendly and unhelpful interactions . I like their products but will stick to my local Santa Barbara location or online . Never going back to that location. read more

She the said she needed to scan my drivers license to verify it was me using them. After that she asked for my SOCIAL security number to check for 'rewards'. She was attempting to sign us up for a credit card. BE WARY WHEN ENTERING THIS STORE! DO NOT GIVE AWAY YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. Do not buy food, or anything perishable from Williams-Sonoma because they do not return or exchange it. Doesn't matter if it was open or not they just do not return food items. I tried exchanging some coffee syrup I received as a gift due to all the sugar that is in them and they said they do not accept returns or exchanges because it is a perishable food item and that it doesn't matter if it's medically related. She suggested I should regift it to somebody who can have it. Just wow! It is definitely not worth the $40 either. read more

I've always appreciated the quality and service at Williams Sonoma, but today's experience was incredibly disappointing. I purchased a product only to realize it was set to expire tomorrow. When I returned to the store to exchange it, I was met with unnecessary attitude from a woman with long grey/blonde hair who handled the situation with smugness and a rude tone. Her demeanor made the interaction uncomfortable and tense, completely out of line for a simple return of a nearly expired item. I expect more from a brand like Williams Sonoma, especially in how customers are treated. This experience left a sour taste and made me question whether I'll return to this location. I was wanting to try out a few knives and Cyndy was very helpful and allowed me the time to try cutting a few items with them and even compared what they had in store to online to find the best option! The customer service is rude and unhelpful. When I found something on my own, the staff acted as if they deserved credit for helping me, despite having dismissed me earlier for merely browsing. It seems they work on commission or receive perks, but they need to earn them. There's eye rolling whenever someone hesitates to make a decision. I visited with the expectation of improved service after the move to Westlake Village, but that was not the case. I've tried multiple times to see if I was mistaken, but unfortunately, this reflects their poor customer service practices, something is clearly amiss. It's usually better to order online to avoid the insincere customer service experienced in the store. Doesn't make any sense to make an expensive move to another location without hiring staff that cares about the brand and its customers. This was my 1st time in Williams Sonoma. I had ordered online before, but had never physically been inside a store. I must say that HALA made my shopping experience one to be remembered. She was very knowledgeable about every product I was interested in. Because of her, I walked out ordering a KithenAid Artisen 5qt Stand Mixer, A Breville Handy Mix Scraper 9-speed Hand Mixer and also bought a 6 qt Instant Pot Pro Multi-Use Pressure Cooker.
