This was the owner's response to my yelp review, which she posted below: "11/8/2021 I am sorry for  the  dissatisfaction of our services . . .I go over and above to help customers the best I can . . . .I have been here 23 years and have wonderful reviews . . . I am guessing shopping PRICE and NOT what she really needed was the issue here . . ." Shopping price was not the issue and I don't understand where the owner gets that impression. We were willing to pay the restocking fee and any difference in price between the bed she received and the bed she thought she was receiving, should it have been more expensive than the current bed. The issue is she received a bed she is dissatisfied and which she believes is not the bed she picked out in the store; it is too firm and too high, and the frame has too little clearance and poses a trip and fall risk to her, and this shop has refused to allow her to exchange it for a more suitable one. read more

on 7/12/13...I wrote my rave review of this small mattress store. We recently were in the market for a new king mattress. Our first stop was Camarillo Mattress. It was Memorial Day. We asked about what sales they had for the day? no sales tax and you could spin a wheel to get possibly up to an additional 10 % off. Now here is the big scoop. The same exact mattress I bought from this small store had been raised drastically. I paid under $1200.00, had no tax, and free shippng. the same "exact" mattress was marked $1799.00. That is $599.00 more in 4 years??? Plus delivery. I phoned a company in Simi Valley. They had the same mattress for less than $1100. plus free delivery. A good return policy practice is important, which Camarillo mattress fails to offer, coupled by incompetent and arrogant staff. A day ago my brother bought a mattress, unknowingly we already have one just hidden in the garage. I reached out to them as soon as possible asking for a simple question "what are your return policies?" Hearing the word return, the lady on the other line was quick to tell me to contact another lady 3 hours after the initial call. After the 3 hour period I called again asking for the lady, with a rude tone, the lady on the other line told me to call back because the said lady was still unavailable. I called back, now I was instantly transferred to voicemail 4 times. I decided to go and talk to them in person which led me to this review. The place was barren and the lady was just sitting on the desk, playing with her cellphone. I asked her about returning a mattress that was bought a day ago, untouched, still completely sealed. She quickly gave an arrogant look and arrogantly said to me "we don't do returns, it's common practice in the trade." I was furious and knew nothing will be done, so I just left. This is how this business is staying afloat, sketchy return policy, and most likely robbing old people that doesn't even know they're paying twice the price. I have experienced good service in the past and I have purchased mattresses here before. I went with my adult children to purchase them a new quality mattress and everything on the floor was low-end junk. I requested a price on a mattress we saw at another shop and the lady verified they sold that mattress and she could order it. She wanted to know where we saw it and how much did the other store charge. We gave her the name of the other store but declined to tell her the price. She was very arrogant and said "We're done" and pointed to the door. We left never to return. The owner was more than helpful in showing mattresses that were within our price range, and even lowered some prices to fit our budget. She even tossed in some items for free when we noted that it was my wife's birthday. First off I would like to thank the shop owner for her kindness. She is such a amazing person. And doesn't push you to buy anything and doesn't try to sell you a 4000.00 bed and treats you the same way if u buy the less expensive. We love our new Cali king gel top mattress this has been far the best price and most comfortable bed hands down. During that time it was a spin the wheel sale to get a extra item for free. We won a pillow and this is just not any pillow this is like one of thee best pillows eve!!!!! She also gave us a free bed cover that protects the bed and since my hubby was in uniform aka military she gave us free delivery. We left feeling so blessed it was like we won the lottery. My mother was the won who first night a mattress here, the no tax and friendly service was what brought myself back. So yes I also did not get charged tax.
