We did alot of looking for the right company to come in and install our tile floors and carpets. The first day ray called and apologized for the mix up and said we would get a discount for that day.then we noticed our theatre love seat had been accidentally cut and the one side got broke .i also talked to Ray on this matter and he has agreed on helping us with the matter.. I would refer them to anyone .they also installed my vanity.and the people he brings in are very polite and curtious.if i needed floors again they will be the first place i call.and it should be you're first place also. Ray was very helpful in explaining the benefit of glue down vs snap fit flooring and advice on the most durable flooring. He answered my request for an estimate quickly and the work was complete in one day. I was able to inspect a work In progress as there was another project close by. Payment was easy as he takes credit cards and is on Zella. The installers did a magnificent job - even moved furniture that was too heavy for me and a small piece of carpet that had not been removed prior to the install. The floors are beautiful. read more

We started dealing with Ray on 04-23 we had just bought a house. Beware!! We met him at the house on 4-25 he took measurements and gave us pricing. Our house closed on 05-15 Contacted Ray on 05-15 to see if we could move the rooms around we were getting done. He said he'd recheck the measurements and let me know Never heard back His crew arrived on 05-16. We had discovered we actually liked the carpet in the front room so I called him BEFORE his crew did anything and asked what it would cost to do a room swap. Instead of doing our living room could he do our 2 small bedrooms & if we had enough the laundry room. I stressed repeatedly we were on a tight budget and I needed pricing BEFORE anything happened. NEVER HEARD BACK That night my husband called and let me know they HAD TAKEN UP ALL THE FLOORING. I asked him why would they do that Ray never called back & he said Ray must of been ok with the measurements as we never got additional pricing or anything. His crew ran out of flooring so part of my house was covered in GLUE. Texted Ray on 05-18 and said the painter is coming on Monday what do we do. On 5-19 he texted back & said cover the glue. Texted Ray on 05-21 and said when are you coming back and are we going to have any extra flooring. Texted on 05-25 said we are moving in I really need to know when you are coming back out. He said the next Monday or Tuesday. 5-25 my husband texted him upset, he said he understood and it wasn't his fault. My husband pointed out he NEVER should've run out of flooring our measurements weren't that different The extra he promised to order should've covered it. 05-29 Texted Ray and said I know you are waiting on flooring but I need the finish work done in the other rooms so we can unpack. Please, please just send the guys back out to finish what they could & he would not do so. Texted Ray on 05-31 & said this is ridiculous you have not gotten ahold of us one time my house is sitting partially done, I cant unpack 10 days had passed. He responded he understood there is nothing he can do. I told him we can move on but he refused to respond to the inquiry about the money paid/due. June 3rd Ray finally texted and said the flooring was coming when I tried to pin him down on a day he wouldn't respond. June 4th he texted & said they would come out as soon as they had it. JUNE 10th finally texted & said they had the flooring. Due to the circumstances Ray had, on his own offered to take $1000 off our contract. We incurred insane amounts of stress and money/time out as we spent DAYS trying to track down & purchase coordinating flooring and a reliable contractor. He started harassing us for the balance, showed up at my house, and is now having his attorney call me because he refuses to take the payment arrangement offered on the money he thinks we owe which is now by the way up to $1200 OR according to him $2500 plus his attorneys fees. Also, just a heads up he sat in my house laughing about the "crazy lady" who had given him a bad yelp review. Based on my experience she was most likely not so crazy. This was such a disgusting experience I wanted to walk away and call it a wash he is now suing us when he left us HIGH & DRY FOR 28 DAYS and the bulk of the time literally would not respond. He has more than one complaint with ROC and honestly the only reason I didn't file one was because he played off the review 100% as a not my fault situation so I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. I have sent numerous text, emails & calls for the past 2 months and now he is completely ignoring me. He constantly gave me the run around and now I am out 15K. He lied about contacting the warehouse to file a claim when I contacted him 2 months ago only to call the warehouse myself to learn that he NEVER contacted them until almost 2 months later. I also learned his workers are not documented and at the end of the work I also learned that the undocumented man who completed my floors (super nice guy & no fault to him) had his teenage boys working with him. DO NOT TRUST RAY GARCIA W/ THOSE GUYS FLOORING. Don't do it! "These Guys" installed vinyl plank flooring throughout our whole house in 2016 and it's been a nightmare ever since. They came out once a few weeks after install, per our request, as many of the planks were pulling apart, some gaps up to 1/4". Unacceptable and embarrassing to look at. As time goes on, they are pulling away from the molding displaying large cracks in caulking, and there are planks bubbling up from the surface in every room. They even have a picture of our living room on their website (brown ottoman) and from that view it looked good the day after install. It went downhill from there. We will be finding a professional company to rip everything up they did and installing the beautiful flooring we deserve. What a waste. read more

After just a year the tiles in our house started to separate from one another and the entire upstairs flooring has been disintegrated. This company put wood-looking tiles in my entire house (downstairs and upstairs), and I paid them a lot of money with a lifetime warranty in the contract. I called the company over three weeks and talked multiple times with Ray who made me wait in my houses and promised multiple times that he "will be there in two hours" or they" will be on their way to come fix it in a few hours", or sometimes give me excuses, and/or attitudes. We have experienced a lack of professionalism, a lack of honesty, and respect. Their customers' service is extremely bad. DO NOT LET THEIR LIFETIME WARRANTY FOOL YOU. If I could give this company zero stars, I would! I had my tile ripped up and have it replaced with vinyl wood flooring and also new baseboards. The flooring was cut unevenly almost in every corner and just filled with awful white caulking. There are numerous tares in various planks. I was told the job would be done in 3 days and it's been more than 3 weeks now. The owner just hires anyone off the street to do the work and takes zero accountability. He even told me "I don't know his work, I can not vouch for him", in regards to a particular guy who did AWFUL work. I spent TWO SATURDAY'S waiting on someone to redo the work correctly and he didn't show up. The owner had the nerve to ask me, if I could take off work for the work to be completed. My baseboards look like garbage, and my floors are completely uneven. The owner told me that my floors are uneven due to the concrete underneath... HELLO!!! Some of the baseboards werent even replaced AT ALL, and MOST are not flushed to wall or floors.. instead just filled with caulk. I would have never hired them to do the job if they had told me that I would have uneven floors as a result. The crew left my back gate open and my dogs got out, there was garbage and carpet debris all over my backyard, a whole was put in my wall, paint on my new floors, the toilets were NOT put back correctly and I had to pay a plumber $400... it never ends. When I sent him pictures of all my concerns, he said he would have everything redone. Nothing was redone. It was just filled in with caulking. The owner then went on to say how he worked in the restaurant business and he was familiar with customers putting hair and their food for a free meal. I'm not looking for anything free! I hired a "professional" company to do the work, and I expected professional work. After the 3rd day when I saw how awful my baseboards looked, I told him NOT to send that specific worker to my house because I was uncomfortable. Well, he sent him anyway. After much convincing and empty promises, I agreed for the work to be completed while I was at work. Ray, the owner told me 3 times, "I promise, I will be there the entire time to over look the entire project". He wasn't. I got home from work and it was not done correctly and I was frustrated. I began to question the guy working on my house, he looked down and went into a blank stare and completely ignored me. He looked as though he was becoming enraged. I was so threatened I asked him to leave because he was making me uncomfortable. He left, I called the non emergency police department to report how unsafe and threatened this man made me feel. The owner was completely unwilling to divulge any information on the "employee". I have already paid $2300. If a business asks you to pay before the work is 100% done, DONT DO IT!!!! This has been an absolute NIGHTMARE. Run for the hills! I will be contacting HomeAdvisor, Gary Harper, the BBB and ROC after this. Initially, I was excited about this company. The cost is low but I got what I paid for. My husband and I went out of town and had them complete the work. We came home to an upside down door, doors off the hinges, toilets on our patio, and an unplugged dryer, washer, oven, and dishwasher. It took 2 weeks to get contractors to come over to help fix the issues. One of the contractors answered his phone and cursed at his girlfriend in Spanish numerous times. Although I am not fluent, I understood and let him know it was terribly unprofessional for him to answer his phone and curse at his partner while at a client's house. The vinyl also slides, which is not normal, and my husband and I have attempted to have them come over to fix it numerous times. It happened in the first 6 months and it took over 1 month to get someone to come. They oftentimes cancel or leave you waiting without letting you know anything about their whereabouts. Now, we have been waiting 3 months for someone to show up. They will schedule, not show, and then text me and ask me if they can come over 1 day before. I have a life outside of getting my floors fixed and this has been 1.5 years of handling a horrible job. Those Guys Flooring is cheap but does not provide quality service. I am going to take them to Small Claims Court since their lifetime warranty is not accurate and I likely am going to need to get the work redone by a qualified professional. We couldn't have been happier with the bathroom remodel and flooring that Ray Garcia and his interior designer DeLeigh Crawford provided at our Scottsdale condo. Ray & Deleigh coordinated the work while we were away and kept us informed with photos and constant communication during the project. They even had our condo cleaned so that it was move in ready when we arrived AND they replaced our medicine cabinet and door handles so that it completed the look and didn't charge us fir any extras. After waiting 4 days without hearing from Express Flooring after tearing out our kitchen, bathroom, entry way and hearth Saltillo tile I called Ray on a Sunday. He came out to our house within hours and scoped out the extent of the job, showed us samples, measured, and quoted us a price that was considerably less then Express. My wife mentioned that she'd like our master bathroom done sometime in the future and Ray suggested that doing it now while the guys were already here would save us some money. We elected to have them do the master bath too and the price was still less than Express, but to be fair, didn't include the tearout that we owed to Express. The following day (Monday) a crew of 2 tile setters arrived before 9AM and proceeded to work until 5PM. They were back the next day and also called in a 3rd worker because the job was bigger than they anticipated. On Wednesday they completed the job and cleaned up before leaving about 1PM. Bright and early Thursday, a crew of 3 guys arrived to do the carpeting portion of the job... family room, dining room, entry way and hallway and they were done and cleaned up by a bit after 1PM, putting the heavy furniture back before they left. Two years ago, we hired Those Guys Flooring to install new tiles throughout our entire house. They completed the job with a few minor issues. (The issues were damaged trim and chips made in the walls while they were extracting the old tiles.) For the most part, the work was satisfactory. However, two years later, the tiles are coming loose in a few places. It crunches underneath the tiles. The tiles are not broken, they are just coming loose. We were given a lifetime warranty for any installation issues. However, my husband has been calling Ray (the owner) for three weeks now. Ray has promised to come by on a few occasions, but never showed up. Now he won't answer our calls. He simply texted that our warranty only lasted two years and that we should just hire someone else to fix the tiles that his company poorly installed. We are not asking for a miracle, just that he fix the places where the tiles came loose (which are NOT in high traffic areas in our house - they just weren't installed well on that part of the floor). He refuses and is completely ignoring his written warranty. BE CAREUL OF THIS COMPANY! read more

The craftsmen that work with this company are great. However, we are more than displeased with the sales and design team. Ray showed up promptly to give us a bid on our bathroom remodel project. They were also prompt to make a design appointment, but they actually did NOTHING to help us with the project. We had find our own design inspirations, tile ,tub, plumbing accessories, etc. Ray consistently failed to show up or even return phone calls. We felt bad for the craftsmen that were left with no guidance or plans. As homeowners, we were forced to make on the spot decisions that should have been made in the design process. We have used this company twice for flooring. The first time was to install hardwood; the second was to purchase and install both tile and carpet. They were awesome both times! The guy came out to put in new carpet, it was so bad at the seams and much of it was pieced together, he does not know how to do seams, he kept blowing us off to come and fix it. The boss had someone else come over to fix it AFTER 4 months! But, the seams are coming apart. Apparently no one there knows how to put in carpet. Our friend had new tiles put in his 2 bathrooms, they left 2 broken tiles and didn't do the grout correctly, it had 3 different colors. It took 4 months of being blown off and our friend 3 months. First off, I'm not from San Francisco - not sure how Yelp assigned that. This is in Gilbert, AZ! I went through Home Advisors to find a service and input my project. Rey from Those Guys Flooring called me within 3 minutes of my posting the project. He came over the same day, with samples and he was prepared with laser measuring equipment, which makes it so easy. He gave me a bid that day and I hired him to rip out carpet throughout the dining/living room area and the master bedroom, to be replaced with a beautiful wood/ceramic tile composite. We found that the materials we had first selected were on back order and - because I have temporary mobility issues - he re-visited with more samples and I selected an alternate in stock. Two workers came over on Monday morning and within an hour they had moved the furniture and removed the carpet, pad, and tack strips. They constantly cleaned up after themselves and then - I still can't believe it - they floated the floor with two coats of cement to perfectly level the floor. The glue went on, then the wood tile... the living/dining area was completed that day save some transition strips between tile floors and carpet. The next day they did the master bedroom, same process. Then they finished all the transitions and they were done on the end of day 2. Every detail is perfect. The floor is so level. The transitions are perfect. They moved all the furniture, carefully and expertly, and put it back when they were done. Both went out of their way to be diligent, respectful, even watched out for our Inspector General kitty, who needs to know everything. I am so happy with this job!!! "Those guys" contracted a 3rd party and didnt tell me until around lunch time. They showed up late and left Very late. Stated they would be done at 6pm and weren't done until 9:30 (i have 2 babies. Bedtimes at 7:30-8). They took a lot, a really lot, of long 20 min smoke breaks, and 1.5 hour lunch, and even had a girl visit them. They never finished either! They calked 3 seams and said they ran out of calking "but itll be easy for you to finish up". I paid top dollar for install and expected it to be at least completed. They put 2/3 doors back. Both of which had to be re-leveled. The 3rd door wasn't even attempted to be put back on. If i would have known better, i would have passed on " those guys" for sure. (And Ray, the owner, though seems like a nice professional guy, did nothing to make any of it right) read more

I was referred to Those guys floors by Home Advisors.com. Those guys came to my house and quoted $750 labor cost to install and retack some carpeting. I had 3 other companies come over. We had originally gone with Those Guys Flooring a few years ago to install vinyl flooring in 2 of our bedrooms. When we tried to contact them to complete our 3rd bedroom earlier this month, we had a difficult time locating the company because there is no official website and Ray did not initially respond to calls. The floor installation job itself was good, but the installer forgot to add a transition strip from one room to the next. When we called Ray about this, he was slow to respond (since we had already paid him at this point). We told him that it was important to get the transition strip asap because we were moving in just a few days. He said that he wouldn't have the piece until the next week, when we would already be gone. I then asked if he could put a different strip in place instead to speed up the process and he said 'sure, tomorrow morning'. However, when I followed up with him the next morning, he said the same as previous 'we won't have the strip in place until next week'. He even asked if we would be ok paying for the transition piece (after we had already paid for the entire service)! We had to coordinate with our realtor to have them install the piece, and they even showed up late for her and made her wait around. Not impressed. Ray is definitely not a customer service friendly guy. Would not recommend working with him or this company. read more

We shopped several companies to tile the first floor of our home with extremely high estimates. We had read reviews of Those Guys Floors on our neighborhood app which were quite positive. We had also read some reviews that were negative on other sites. We decided to call Those Guys Flooring and see what kind of estimate that they could provide us. We called Ray and he came to our home with several samples and ideas. At first, we had selected a wood laminate which matched our maple cabinets. Ray let us borrow a piece of laminate so we could see it in different lights during the day and night. We were quoted a very good price on the wood laminate but we were still discussing all of our options. On Ray's second visit, he recommended a porcelain wood tile that was very similar to the colors in the laminate. Ray quoted us an incredible price on the tile due to it being discontinued. The estimate for the tile was not much more than the estimate for the laminate. We decided to go with the tile. Ray advised that the installation would take about a week. Ray gave us a discount for removing our flooring on our own. Two installers showed up on the scheduled day and worked slowly but very carefully all day. The installers took there time to ensure good quality and to make sure the tile flowed properly with the same direction throughout our home. On the fourth day, the installers were halfway done. I told the installers to take their time rather than rush through to be completed on Friday. I told them that the quality of their work is amazing and that I would rather have it done right and look great than looking like they hurried to meet the deadline. I told them that they had to be done by the following Tuesday. They took their time and had finished on Tuesday around 3:30 pm. I was very pleased with their work and they cleaned up and left. I was also busy working from home. When my fiancee got home later that night, we noticed a few things that needed to be addressed, nothing major. I sent Ray a text, advised him that we were headed out of town and that we would need to speak next week. Ray returned my text very promptly and respectively. When we returned, we met with Ray who addressed all of our concerns. We had a few tiles removed and redone. Everything was done to our satisfaction. My fiancee and I could not agree on baseboards so we currently have none as we are still remodeling our home. Ray is very polite and caring. Ray promptly addressed all of our concerns and had everything done the same day that we met with Ray. I would recommend Ray to anyone for tile work. It may take a few extra days but the work is exemplary and well worth the wait. read more

For those that do their due diligence before spending thousands of dollars with a contractor, this will give you something to think about. I had a budget of $5000 for a small bathroom remodeling project but accepted the owner of the company's' offer to do the job for $5600 since he said that it should only be a 5-7 day project and the bathroom would look great when finished. Ray Garcia, the owner, had me sold that his crew would do great work, he would manage the job and it would be complete within the week. With that said, I flew in from Chicago and gave myself actually 10 days in case things might take a little longer. I met Ray the first day I arrived, we discussed the project and then he and I went to Home Depot to start picking out fixtures for the project...that was the last and only time I saw Ray Garcia. I do have to say though that he was good about replying via the phone to my complaints about how the project was being managed, how the project wasn't progressing in a timely manor and how unprofessional and sub par things were being done. Day nine, Ray told me to go back home and it will be 100% perfect with in a day. Unfortunately and luckily I had a friend in AZ. He was left to deal with Those Guy Flooring and it definitely put a major strain on what was a perfect 22 year friendship. After 14 days my friend hesitantly gave Ray's representative the remaining balance. Ray promised to do the final walk through but of course he was a no show for the last day; I hoped to speak with him while at the property about the final cost of the job but that was not to be. With three properties this was the worst experience dealing with a service business. There was no: organization, communication, planning, professional supervision of the job or even a full time crew that worked on our project. As of today, 11/30/16, my new tenant that this project was done for called to inform me that Those Guys installed two grab bars in the shower; One was installed properly but the second was installed on the opposite wall, not the one that is was suppose to go on. Both Ray and the tile installer knew where the two bars were to go and the tile installer even added extra 2x4's before the new wall was installed. Since Ray had a "handy man" put in the bar rather than the tile installer, that person put it where ever they wanted. Now I'm forced to have a third bar installed immediately for the tenant in the place he originally requested. In the near future I will have to have the other bar and the tiles with the holes removed and replaced all because Ray Garcia and Those Guys Flooring allowed the day laborers to self manage and make design decisions without any consideration for what the client wanted. If I was able to stay longer in AZ Those Guys Flooring would never have been paid the full balance. Ray Garcia might know how to book jobs but his management skills as a business owner are lacking and it's the client that will pay the price. It goes without saying that I'm a very dissatisfied customer of Those Guys Flooring. I have requested twice a refund of $500 with obviously no success. Now that major tile work will be needed to fix the shower there's only one thing left to do legally... more time and expenses to try and make things right since Ray couldn't. This company was very unpleasant to deal with - not only did the job take considerably longer than quoted (originally quoted 4-5 days but took multiple weeks for the tiling, many more to get issues fixed), but the crew sent to my house damaged stainless steel appliances and pieces of furniture. They also installed my upstsairs toilet wrong, resulting in water damage to my 1st floor ceiling - business owner stated it could have been coincidence. We had to hire a plumber who concluded it was how the toilet was reinstalled and get the owner to pay for our insurance deductible. The crew was late and also didnt show up multiple times on the job stating they hadnt been paid for their work. We were not happy with some of the workmanship and had to threaten to file a complaint with the ROC to get the owner to come to our house to view the work. We are still dealing with white grout (supposed to be mocha color) that the owner said was due to the reflective property of the grout (but grout in same vicinity is correct color). read more
