I recently received a review from a person That chose not to do business with Thor Enterprises. I can accept criticisms and correct things when something is wrong? This particular case is unusual? The customer wanted someone to come out and look at his home because he had an inspection done and wanted a second opinion. I will agree that a second opinion is a good practice. The customer and I had an initial conversation and I ask him to email his inspection report so I could evaluate the report. Instead of getting the report, I received a one-star rating for not catering to his demands to come out and inspect his home. I try very hard to save people money if I can. I work with 200 plus realtors looking at this type of report 10 to 20 a week. I can tell from an inspection report if it was done properly? After determining if the report is adequate, then I can make recommendations for repairs or the need for a second inspection. I was not given the opportunity to do any of this? I tried to explain to this person that this is the way I do things. His opinion is that I am lazy and don't have good work ethics? I believe everyone should have the freedom to say what they want even if they want to be negative. The facts are stated above his negative reviews are posted. He thinks I have a big ego and I am lazy because my business practice did not fit his narrative? I will say that I am one of the top electrical contractors in the greater Houston area. I am called out behind other contractors regularly to fix what they could not. My claim to fame is not that I am the best but that I give my customers more for every dollar spent. I will also say don't take my word for it. Call the City of Houston electrical inspections (832-394-8860) Ask for a senior inspector Duane, Roy, Robert Kenny, (Merle is the chief electrical inspector) I can understand a review that is negative if you receive bad or poor service but when someone speaks to you over the phone and you choose to take your business elsewhere? I find it difficult to believe that it's worth the time he took to write the things he has. I am so happy to not have this person as my customer. Best price, Quality work. Our a/c guy suggested we put a surge protector on the a/c. Since we had already researched whole house surge suppression, we decided it was time to protect the electronics in our house including the new air conditioner. Danny Hixon has many years of experience and agreed that the EATON CHSPT2ULTRA was one of the best whole house surge protectors. His install price was the best of 3 quotes. We decided to get the surge protection for all electronics of the whole house (included a/c) as it was only little more than the cost of the surge protector for just the a/c. Thus we got the protection for the a/c and the spikes generated internally from the a/c and house electronics. Mr. Hixon's customer interaction was great as he explained every step he took which also included inspection and tightening all connections of the breakers. Once installed Danny explained that it is not a complete installation until the ohm test of the ground is done so that any surge could properly go to ground. Other quotes did not mention this test. When our grounding did not pass he found and tightened the connection to the grounding rod and put us back into compliance. His philosophy is to try a fix first and replace if necessary. read more

During the night a tree limb had fallen onto the line from the pole to our house. The meter and all the other wires were torn from the wall of the house. After calling to disconnect the electricity, I called Thor Enterprises and Bret came out that afternoon. He gave me an estimate and got the work permit from the city. They started work the next morning. We had to leave for an appointment just as they arrived. They worked all day & I really appreciate them taking the time from their busy schedule. Bret called the city inspector and he came out the next morning. He turned on the electricity that afternoon. He gave us a detailed summmary for the insurance company. A week later Bret and Paul came back and labeled the breaker box. They also replaced a couple of outlets and switches for us at no charge. Our insurance paid the full amount minus our deductible. Danny and his workers have saved me countless times and my wallet almost $10,000. The first time I called Danny was when a different electrician told me we had to move our breaker box because its location was against the code for our pool being built - that was about a $10,000 estimate. I got Danny for a second opinion. He said that wasn't right, looked up the code, called the city to confirm his assertion, and found out I only had to move a line for only a few hundred or so dollars. AMAZING! We also had him come out for all sorts of other things as they came up, and he was always there with a smile, a great story, and did the job fast and right the first time. I originally found Thor Enterprises on Angie's list where he was very well rated (A).I had to use a local Heights electrician prior to finding Danny ( Thor Enterprises ). The heights electrician knew he had me over a barrel as i was on my way out of town, and priced his job accordingly. I had to pay it but it still didn't solve the problem. Danny came over after I got back into town, diagnosed and solved the problem in minutes. He was even willing to barter for some stuff I had in my garage in lieu of money. I have used him several times since then, and he and his guys always do a great job and are reasonably priced. Excellent service and price!! I called on December 22 to have the outlet to our electric range moved 2 feet below its original location. I figured anytime after the holidays would be good. Danny said, "we can be there tomorrow." He and his men arrived at 9 am ready to work on Friday, December 23, two days before Christmas. Because of the way the wall studs were positioned it took almost three hours. But they stuck with it and got the job done. I thought it would have cost about $200 or more.
