SAFETY FIRST!!!! THIS GUY DID NOT TURN THE BRAKER OFF WHILE HE DID THE ELECTRICAL WORK INSIDE THE HOUSE!!! I needed to have some electrical work done in our house ; very basic, changing a light switch and a closet fixture , check the lights in the master bathroom... and an outlet in the laundry room. I contacted them and Johnny Gibs came in the same day in the afternoon, which was good. He changed the switch and the fixture and replaced the outlet in the laundry room. The following what I didn't like and why I would not recommend him: 1) When he gave me the quote , I felt I was at at flea market, haggling for a good price... the work he did took only 20 minutes... and he did not have any standard prices to give me ... he never told me on the phone that he had a minimum of $150... I felt he gave me whatever price he wanted and didn't think it was fair 2) I provided him with a list of all the breakers, so he could turn off the breaker to turn the power off while he was doing the work ... he look at the list and put in aside ....I left the room so he could do his thing... all of the sudden some lights in the rest of the house were flickering.... HE DID NOT TURN THE BRAKER OFF... that's a big NO NO.... I don't care how much of a "master technician you are" Safety is first and this guys was not safe!!! I DONT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! read more

I contacted Lighthouse Electric about a front porch light and a security light that were not working. Johnny and his team (Paco & Juan) were great to work with. They assessed the situation and provided an estimate that was fair and agreeable. They quickly checked both lights. The porch light was an easy, fix but the security light needed to be replaced. I asked if they could find a similar replacement and install the new light and switch. within in a short time they had a replacement and had the installation completed a few minutes later. I can't begin to express how thankful I am for Lighthouse Electric. I would recommend them to anyone. We are in the process of getting our house ready for sale. The painters did something to trip the smoke alarms and it cut electricty to all of the hard wired alarms as well as one of our bedrooms. We couldn't get the power back on at the breaker box. It was a Saturday, after 6pm, but I figured I'd call and try...especially considering the great reviews. I was told they could work me in around 7:30am on Sunday morning for no extra charge, which is amazing in itself. But before setting up the appointment, he asked me to go out to the breaker box. It turns out it was a really easy fix that I was able to do on my own and there was no reason for them to come out. I can't begin to thank them enough. I messed up my own electricity on Saturday 1/21/17 by changing out a light switch and not rewiring it properly. I did a Yelp search for Electricians and clicked the "Open Now" button, and Lighthouse was the first entry. High ratings, so I called. When I called, after one ring it rolled to voicemail, but before I lowered my phone I had a text, "Can't talk now, I'll call you later," which is a smart phone option to respond to a call you can't take, so I knew my call had not gone to an office but direct to a technician's phone. I texted back affirmatively, with a brief explanation of what my problem was. He was upfront in his response, that he had 2 calls ahead of me, but could get to me between 6 and 7 that evening. On a Saturday, mind you. He quoted me $130 for the service call, which I was willing to pay to have electricity in my master bedroom and bath. Johnny, who turns out to be the proprietor of Lighthouse, arrived just before 7, after texting me 30 minutes prior that he was on his way. He assessed what I had done wrong with the switch almost without looking at it, and rewired it and buttoned everything up - power restored. He finished it in under 15 minutes, and only charged me $75 - basically a show-up fee. So to sum up - booked a service call entirely via text, he kept me apprised of his schedule, arrived on time, assessed and repaired my issue quickly, and charged me less than I expected. First, he did not call us back. We called him again (unfortunately) and he was very apologetic but he did not show up when scheduled the first time, and my husband had to miss work to be at home to meet him. The second time, he sent over two guys who didn't speak English and couldn't tell us what they were actually there to do. They started working and when he finally arrived, he didn't have a big enough cord for our generator. He assured us it was OK, but we later found out we can't use the generator at full power with the cord he sold us. We also are not sure he actually put in a transfer switch, which is what we asked for and paid for -- he told us those were not really being used any more. So overall, we were not happy. read more

I contacted Lighthouse to assist with several electrical issues that we had. Issues turned out to be minor things, but were fixed to our satisfaction. They also checked on another prior issue to make sure things were working properly. We thought the price was a bit high, but honestly when it comes to electrical, plumbing, etc. I think often times you get what you pay for. I needed an electrician ASAP when my house lost almost all power. My initial call was to centerpoint and 16hrs later when they still had not shown up I called this company. I spoke with Johnny and within less than an hour he was at my house assessing the situation. He quickly diagnosed what was wrong and soon after began working to fix the problem. The entire electrical panel and meter box were changed out ( big wiring mess ). A few hours later I was up and running. I definitely feel lucky to have found this company and I couldn't have found a nicer guy than Johnny. He kept me updated as he worked and explained everything. The price for the job was reasonable and did not take advantage of the fact that at that moment I was desperate to have my electricity back. After reading many positive reviews on yelp, I decided to call Lighthouse Electric and set-up an appointment. I called and left a message on 08/24/17. I waited a couple days and didn't receive a call back. I then thought that maybe yelp had the phone number wrong. I then went to companies website and the number on yelp was correct. While I was on Lighthouse Electric's website, I went to REQUEST SERVICE ONLINE SECTION. I put in my name, email address, phone number and reason for contacting. I never got any reply from this company. All of this happened before Hurricane Harvey just in case people are thinking this happened during or after the hurricane. read more

I called Johnny around 4pm & he was able to make it out before 6pm. He was very informative about the issue with my dryer(it wasn't grounded & was causing sparks on nearby metal) Very scary! Sparks around dryer lint not ok! Talk about fire hazard! He checked the outlet & my breaker box & double checked that everything was tight & that there wasnt any other electrical issues. He was super friendly! His price was much better than other electricians I called. He was kind enough to explain everything that was going on, what he was going to repair, his troubleshooting process, and speak to my dad on the phone to explain the problem.
