I knew that whoever I brought here, was going to love it too. Indeed, I impressed him very much. You know, I do my research for my dating game, I make sure whoever I meet, is going to have one of the best time or dates in his dating history, otherwise, why bother taking someone out, is all about the connection and experience, wink, wink... I saw an online article with the picture of their Mapple French Toast Doughnut and it looked tasty so I was very curious to try it. They say "Don't judge a book by its cover" well, I could judge the food by its picture. Omg! Do not die before tasting the Mapple French Toast Doughnut from this place #thankmelater. This is one of a kind dessert, it just taste so good and I got food high again, is a unique sweet soft taste, not too sweet just right. For my first visit, I brought my son here and we both loved it. For my second visit I brought two friends and they also loved it. This place makes me feel at home, the Owner is so cool and friendly, he welcomed me and my friends. Carlos the waiter is also great with customer service, I asked him for soft red wine and he gave me one that was just perfect for the night. The calm Aura of this restaurant makes it a perfect place to have a beer after work (done that), also the fact that is not overcrowded makes it an excellent place to go. The lighting at night set the tone for a highly Romantic Aura. My date loved that it wasn't over crowded or noisy as well. So there you go, I just published one of my top local spots for just about any type of meeting. As for my date, he was the perfect man, Military training, extremely Smart, 13 years of fighting technique experience, he is a killing machine without a weapon, yet not dangerous. Seems like this place just opened so perhaps they're still working out the kinks but I can't recommend this place for brunch based on our experience. Was hoping for a good new addition to this part of E. Williamsburg but it's all style over substance. The staff didn't know anything about the dishes when asked basic questions about the menu. And the food unfortunately doesn't make up for it. The $16 vegan benedict was a really small portion of tofu which wasn't filling at all and the dish was 90% comprised of fried potatoes as a filler. However the staff was very friendly and apologetic about an order mix up and our overall experience, so hoping that they improve in the future. read more

This is a great addition to the Williamsburg restaurant scene! We went and sat at the bar during Grand Street Restaurant Week and ordered from the special menu: - I got: ricotta toast (loaded with grilled corn, cherry tomatoes, pickled red onions, peaches), summer salad (baby kale, corn, snap peas, peaches, maple-y dressing) and the chocolate/caramel pudding - husband got: yankee whaler (super fancy potato skins), fried calamari roll, maple donut. All of this was $23 a person. So worth it! Everything was thoughtful and simple yet complex. And the service was incredible. Getting to watch the bartender make so many creative drinks and chat about the neighborhood was a nice bonus! Went to this new spot thanks to Grand Street Restaurant week. It's a very cool bar/restaurant. We were able to enjoy a really good 3 course dinner for only $23 per person. As appetizers we had the Ricotta toast (cherry tomatoes, grilled corn, arugula, lemon vinaigrette) and the Yankee Whaler (fried potato skins with yankee queso, pickled chilis, crema and bacon). As entrees the High Valley Salad (Baby kale, roasted cherry tomatoes, sorghum, snap peas, roasted corn, pickled onions and maple vinaigrette) and the Grand St Burger with blue cheese and french fries. And finally for dessert the Hester's Lemon pudding cake! Topped with some berries and plum bitters whipped cream. Overall the food was really good and had great flavors! I loved the touch of fresh fruits with the ricotta cheese. We will have to go back to try their cocktails which seem amazing! read more

My roommate and I are here pretty often, maybe 2 to 3 times per month.....and that really says it all - we come often cause it's always a consistently lovely experience. Most evenings during the week here are pretty chill, the bartender is usually also our server - and she's so friendly, she always greats us warmly and knows that we have our eye on the drink specials which seriously ARE DEALS, helloooooo $18 bottle of rosé. My faves are the burger with queso (I actually didn't order it with queso the first time I tried it and I regret the minor lapse in cheese judgment, please learn from my mistake and just get the queso). Also the chicken sandwich has a great comfort food yum if you need a "treat yo'self" moment after a rough day, and the fries that come with have been treated with vinegar-y something....that "something" being delicious I guess. I somehow have not been here for brunch just yet though, but have heard the same satisfied tummy stories from our neighbors. Amazing!! Would definitely come back. Service: nicest, sweetest people. We came in for brunch on a Saturday a bit earlier than start of open and they were able to seat us. The staff was so great. The bartender got us coffee and the waitress came by to tell us about the st pattys day specials. The coffee was refilled quickly for my boyfriend and they even let him try a mini scarlett glow! Highly recommend. Great brunch drink. Our food came out quickly and we had a really awesome experience. Food: i got the chicken and waffles and my boyfriend got the omelette. I love a good burger even though I generally eat healthy (gotta splurge sometimes) so I ordered the Grand Street Burger and had an IPA. I was familiar with Red Table Catering so I made a point to stop by Thompson Brooke during my last visit to New York - we ordered a top-notch mocktail (Missy's Glove) with a biodegradable straw, and a cold Pilsner on a hot summer day. The team asked if I wanted to spice up my beer with a shot of gin and chili, and it was a refreshing and interesting surprise. For starters, order the Marinated Anchovies - if you're not vegetarian and you have the courage to look your food in the face, they are amazing. Yankee queso was exactly what you'd think; an homage to the Austin, TX. If you want to remember hot Texas nights, it won't disappoint. We also had some incredible potato skins, first-rate bruschetta, and Sam's lobster roll, which was perfect. Rock solid. For dessert, we shared Hester's lemon pudding cake (refreshing and delicious in a mason jar) and a doughnut which blew my mind. The team talked about starting a brunch service including fresh doughnuts and waffles with a timed seating scheme including a designated time slot for parents and kids...I hope it happens because if any place can muster the gumption to welcome diners in family fashion, it's TB. Oh man where do I even begin! Had the opportunity to visit here and try their Brunch on a Saturday. Hands down one of the best brunch spots in Brooklyn. The ambiance is fantastic and super fun. A hidden gem for sure, the service, drinks and food were phenomenal. Highly recommend St. Lucy's Dream (Chicken and Waffles) it will not disappoint. Food is pretty good. We order burger and chowder soup. It is a bacon chowder and very tasty! They use preserve pork to make the smoky flavor for the soup. I the soup is made freshly but not just pull from a big pre-cooked pot. The potato in the soup is still bit of crunchy but not just soft. Burger is also very good. Plenty of salad on the side. Fries is crispy and flavored. Personally I think the food meet the high-level restaurant standard but with affordable price. Drink is just ok. Or maybe it's because we use Summer Tippler (kind of coupon), so they didn't put much effort on this. Speed for serving the food is a little bit slow, but the food worth it. read more

Like another reviewer, I was familiar with Red Table Catering and knew that their food is excellent, so I was curious to see what amazing things they'd accomplish in a smaller, more intimate setting. I have not been disappointed! This last time at Thompson Brooke I went for their pop-up brunch with my son, a friend, and her daughter, and everyone loved the food. The sweet potato waffles and fried chicken and the French toast donuts were all incredible (especially the donuts). And don't get me started on the maple syrup bacon...The staff promised that the brunches will soon be a fixture, and we'll definitely be back. I also want to bring my husband back for a date night, to try the lobster roll and the cocktails. I love the way the place is decorated, cozy and hip at the same time, with attention to detail. I ate brunch here over the nye holiday with my girlfriend. We are both super picky vegetarians from a very vegetarian friendly city (Portland, Oregon).
