Good bar food wasn't really busy around one loved the fries and burger called the ranch hand . Lots of sport on TVs were playing and they looked to have an extensive bar. One of the best parts for me is they had soda water or seltzer some places don't but here did .

Third Base...we have a love hate relationship. Most Round Rockers are no stranger to this establishment and as such are aware that depending upon the day, one's experience here can be great and other times can be like "Who dat restaurant Harpo"? This review summarizes my last take-out experience here. You may ask "what I got" - Sublime So here goes... Fried Pickles- Crispy fried dill pickles are the ultimate appetizer! These were on-point. Nachos- Look at the photos... what happened? Only the Lordt and Third Base know. The chips were stale and the beans were dried out. Baja Tacos- The Fried Mahi was rubbery. I am not sure what happened here as these are super easy to make so how the Mahi got to this state, I am at a loss. Overall this visit was more a of 1.5 star BUT I am really rating this establishment for collective visits.

Grilled Baja Tacos - complete garbage

Delivery experience only. Fish tacos come completely disassembled. Tortillas were hard and rubbery on one side and soggy on the other. Tacos were incredibly spicy (and I like spice). Smallest portion of queso I've ever seen - not even enough for one person to enjoy. Salsa was plain disgusting - never met a salsa I didn't like until now. Fried pickles were just a platter of solid grease Tortilla soup - no flavor - veggies hard and rubbery Burger and fries just meh and not fresh

Ask for the manmosa (mimosa with vodka pretty much) you will NOT be disappointed

I come here to just chill and relax, while sitting at the bar. The bartenders are extremely attentive and friendly. I normally eat the carnitas flautas Or the hot corner scrambler and I never go wrong.

Came to visit on 8/4/2021. My partner and I been coming here every now and then when we're in the mood for just an appetizer because Third Base has some of the best appetizers that can also serve as a meal. You get your monies worth for sure. My partner gets the nachos and this particular time I tried the Carnitas Flautas for the first time, and it was SO good! They do put a layer of refried beans at the bottom, which I could've did without but still good. Also to mention - my partner previously tried the Ribeye steak on a previous visit and she mentioned it didn't really have taste and wasn't all that. The service is good, if you come during the week it's a lot of space and available seating, they have darts and they do trivia as well - not sure of the days on this but it was pretty packed that day.

We did have high hopes off this place based strictly on the menu, its vast with a decent selection....We like finding places like this to take our granddaughter too. Gives her and us to try something different. Friendly greeting and we were seated. The first table was just plain sticky to the touch, so we moved to a less sticky table. Water to drink along with Chips, Hatch Queso and Salsa to start. All were very good Along with some Chicken Tortilla soup, good yes, but way overloaded on peppers...I would say this would catch the average person off guard...When placing our order, it always bothers me when they dont write down what we said...on that note my Chicken fried steak, turned out to be chicken fried chicken...Although tasty, its not what I ordered. Mash potatoes were spot on. Asparagus was a bit charred. I asked the waitress to make my check reflects the difference in $$....Wife went with the fish and Chips....We have eaten enough to know what to expect....One piece actually had no fish, just batter. We did show the waitress and she offered another piece, but at this point we were 3/4 of the way done with our meal....yes thats how long it was before she returned to see if all was good...and since she was training another waitress, we technically had 2. Our check wasnt itemized so I have no clue if the charge was correct. We just cut our losses and will move on to the next adventure.

Not my kind of place, although service was good and nachos were good. Just a basic place to get a drink.

I'd like to add that the outside patio service and tables hardly get any attention from the waiters. Best is to seat by the bar.

My recent visit to this spot could have easily gone sideways with a late night run out situation,…read morebut it was turned into one of the best experiences thanks to incredibly warm, accommodating service that made everything feel just right. My server, Julia, was an absolute star from the moment we sat down, super friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring about making sure we had a great time. I ordered a dish that usually comes with a certain side (you know how it is with those classic pairings), but they had run out toward the end of the night. No big deal at all, I get that items run low during busy late hours, but when I asked if they could just take it off and swap in something else (I wasn't feeling fries that night), Julia handled it like a pro. She didn't hesitate, made sure it was adjusted perfectly without any extra charge or fuss, and even checked back to confirm I was happy with how it turned out. I truly appreciate how understanding and flexible she was, it's rare to find that kind of no drama accommodation, especially late in the shift. Shoutout to the manager, Verna, too, she's clearly running a tight ship with a positive vibe, because the whole team felt welcoming and on point. The rest of the staff we interacted with were just as great: quick smiles, helpful energy, and that perfect balance of fun without being over the top.

The only annoying thing was that I ordered a cheeseburger trio and they forgot to add the cheese. The tater tots were delicious, though, and they did bring out three slices of cheese afterward. Plenty of outdoor tvs and you can hear the sports on the tv so much appreciated to get a good drink and watch sports. The venue is clean, large open spaces, big drink menu so any beer and cocktail they got it. For me the location, how clean the inside and outside was, the fun factor is a solid 10/10. Great overall atmosphere. I will say the let down is some of the food items, it needs help. I only took pictures of the fish n chips meal but I ordered fried pickles, had a few wings, chips and dip, and egg rolls. The egg rolls are nice and crunchy, it had a corn and bean interior, nice warm with the extra crispy exterior. Good ranch dipping sauce. The wings are also good, crispy exterior nice fluffy chicken interior, it's not the best wings I've had but also not the worst. The flavor menu is a little short so you're not going to get a ton to choose from. The chips and salsa, the queso is amazing. Nice creamy, thick, cheese flavor, the salsa is nice and semi chunky. Both hold on to chips but the chips we got were ultra stale. I mean rock hard. We asked for new chips and luckily the new chips were fresh. The let down had to be the fish and chips. The batter was too thick, the batter also was still raw. The cod is nice and semi thick, still cooked all the way but since the batter was soo thick, it didn't have that crisp factor the crunchy flavor was gone, it didn't have the crispy exterior. In the pictures you'll see how thick it was. The waffle fries were ok, not the best not the worst just in the middle, still crispy but it was semi cold when we got them.

I am so torn on this place. My friends and I were looking for a cute spot for a moms night out…read more(just 3 of us). We decided to make a reservation at Odds Bar and give it a try. Arrived right on time and the parking lot was PACKED, though the restaurant appeared nearly empty except for a loud networking event going on in a devoted side room open to the main area. No one at the desk to greet us, just a sign to seat ourselves, so we did. Guess reservations don't really matter? It was quite a while before anyone approached us, but when a server finally came he was very nice and helpful. We ordered drinks and entrees. It took an ABSURD amount of time before the drinks came out...maybe because of the event? Not sure. The bar and restaurant seemed nearly empty otherwise and the bartender didn't look busy or rushed at all. Luckily we had intended to make a night of it, so we were able to wait. It was hard to hear each other talk, though, due to the networking event. When the drinks finally came, mine was AMAZING. Like, one of the best drinks I've had in Austin, and maybe one of the best of my life? Weeks later I'm still thinking about it. I got the Going Bananas and it was simple perfection. The food also took a while to come out, but at least we had drinks to tide us over. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and was disappointed. The toppings were spare and didn't offer much to elevate the dish, and the chicken itself, while tasty, was very dry in parts, to the extent where I was dipping it in ketchup to get it to go down easy. The bun and fries were good. Our server seemed to have evaporated into thin air after delivering food, so we had no water refills and had to vye for attention to pay the check. Eventually the bartender came and helped us pay, and seemed terse and annoyed when we asked to split our check. (Three middle-aged women...seems more likely a split than combined?) All in all, we were there about 3 hours total, mostly because service took so long. Such a bizarre experience. I would NOT come here if you are on any kind of timeline. The only way I'll come back is to sit at the bar and have drinks only.

Our server was Chase, who was very knowledgeable about the menu and took ownership of the whole experience. You can tell he enjoys being there. I got the off-menu All Day English Breakfast, which - shut the front door - was the best I've had in the Austin area. No puddings, and regular bacon instead of rashers, but otherwise super traditional and fantastic. The bangers stood out - YUM. We also got some candied bacon for fun which made the whole meal even more excessive, haha. It was superb, and a generous portion that the two of us easily shared. I'm hooked. Reasonable prices, great food, beautiful interior, fantastic service, easy parking. What a fun surprise to start 2026.

Clearly, not at all, because the place was packed. Either at capacity or about to go over. We secured a little standing spot at the bar and enjoyed our little brews. As we looked up at the TV, the original Leprechaun movie was playing. The staff were very friendly and moving around at the speed of light to get everyone their green dyed beers. There was over an hour wait for food due to how obviously busy a bar is on International Wear Green and Drink Beer Day, which didn't concern us because we had already eaten. For everyone else, sucks to be them. Our Guinnesses were good, and I really have no complaints. The location is quite narrow, but they make the most of it. I went to the bar and ordered (no wait staff at the tables). I ordered the Fish-n-Chips w/ a Pearl Snap, my date had the Biggy BBQ Mac Burger with a Dragon Fruit Daiquiri. For the positives: our drinks were very good, hard to mess up a draught beer, but it was not flat & just cold enough. She absolutely loved the daiquiri, side note- she's with me so standards aren't super high. Bar staff were super helpful and attentive, patio was very chill and secluded from the other spots surrounding it. The bathroom was clean and didn't smell like vomit. Negatives: My fish and chips were below expectations. Their grease was entirely too hot and it was flash fried causing the batter to be too crispy and the fish was piping hot. The selection of cod was not good either most of the pieces were blackened meat and the chips were crinkle cut fries, a letdown. I wasn't expecting a London level plate but it was a very sad and lonely one. Her burger was loaded with BBQ sauce and her mac-n-cheese balls were fried similarly causing the same burnt batter. It wasn't the worst meal I've had at a chain beer joint, looking at you Fox and Hound, but it wasn't close to the best. The Flying Saucer has a very good bar style fish and chips plate that costs about the same but they pay attention to the details that make it better. Overall I would not recommend and I will not be going back but in a pinch it won't make you sick.
