Today's cleaning was just ok. There were a lot of areas missed this time around. I used them for a deep cleaning once and they did a good job. Well, it was after the maids didn't show up and I saw a pending charge on my account that I started to read the reviews and I think I've fallen victim to this scam as well. I will be reporting them to the BBB and advising any and everyone I see not to use their services. I received a message last night that our cleaners would arrive today. Waited and waited, and they've not arrived but there's a pending charge on my account. No one has reached out to me yet to even say they're going to be late, which is ironic because they didn't hesitate to call me and reach out to complete the booking. This cleaning service isn't worth the hassle. To those of us who want to really support cleaning professionals, they give them a bad name. read more

Booked for a cleaning and I would not recommend nor hire again. I checked off I have a basement and attic, (note there is no option on the website for in choose either or) they wanted to argue that only one was selected, if you have the two combined into one section and there isn't an option to select both separately then it's expected to have them both cleaned. They were not. Then the cleaning staff lied and said they did clean the attic they did not. Instructions were given on where the key would be and where to place it, those directions didn't get followed and then they said I didn't give them key instructions. The basement wasn't cleaned due to them being worried about the dog. They claimed they couldn't find the light switch. The light switch is at the top of the steps and there's another set at the bottom. Dog was secured in the crate the entire time. Not once did anyone call and ask about the light switch, they didn't ask if it was safe to go downstairs and instead of just saying they messed up, they wanted to argue. In addition to that, there is a light right at the basement door before you open it, had they turns it on, they would've seen the switch ‍. My gut tells me they forgot or kissy didn't want to do it. I agree with most of the 2019 reviews of this service - I feel totally ripped off, and I'm also concerned about the behavior of the cleaner in my home. I was charged $137 to clean a one bedroom condo with one bathroom. That includes an additional fee because I have a dog. I took my dog outside while the cleaner was working so he wouldn't be in the way, and returned right after she left. She was in my place for about 1.5 hours. I returned to find a pool of water on top of my kitchen island, that my living room and living room furniture had not been vacuumed (it is still speckled with the dog hair that I was charged extra to clean), my microwave hadn't been cleaned, my bathroom items were piled up and left on a corner in the floor. Worst of all, cabinets/drawers in my bathroom that had been left secured by baby locks - and that she had no reason to open and go through - had been opened and left unlocked. She obviously went through cabinets in other areas of the house, and left a used plastic cup next to the kitchen sink (that was put away in a cabinet when I left). Is that how she spent that 1.5 hours in my condo? Going through my things? It certainly was not cleaning. I have company coming over tonight, so everything that Think Maids was supposed to do (and charged me extra to do because of my dog) but didn't do, I now have to do myself. I'm sure they will not offer me a refund because companies that allow things like this to happen never do. They'll probably say, "we'll send someone to finish the cleaning in a day or two," which is useless to me since I have company coming over tonight and will need to complete the cleaning myself before then. Depending on what else I find as I go through my place to clean it my place, I might suggest that our building send out a notice warning residents from using this company so others do not have similar experiences. There are some pros to this place: their booking process online is well-designed and easy to use, they were available at last minute (booked the day before, less than 24 hours advance), and when it turned out there was a scheduling conflict, we received a quick, friendly call (after business hours, even) to adjust the team's schedule, which we agreed to since it was last minute. But... the cons. As a few other people have mentioned, I ordered a deep cleaning and returned to a condo that was only as clean as a poorly-done regular cleaning... not awful, but nothing I'd book again even if I'd just ordered a regular cleaning, especially since we paid for "up to 1500 sq ft" and our condo is only 900 sq ft. Should have been an easy assignment for the team, but they didn't do much. It certainly wasn't worth the extra money we paid for a deep cleaning. Since the booking experience was positive, I gave the benefit of the doubt and emailed that I had a complaint and got a quick response... unfortunately, the quickness of the response was the only real bright point in the interaction. They requested that I send details/pictures of what I was dissatisfied about, so I did, pictures and descriptions of the following: Dust on numerous flat surfaces, shelves, and vents; floors vacuumed without actually lifting any debris (visible while standing, no need to kneel... bet they didn't empty the bag/container, just kept rolling after suction was gone); windows not cleaned at all (specifically ordered that in the website ordering options); soap scum and other evidence that cleaning was cursory, not deep; etc. The responses to my complaints and documentation of just how poor a "deep cleaning" it was were not particularly reasonable or relevant. They didn't address the substance of the complaint (it simply wasn't a deep cleaning, at all) and said they would send someone to "touch up" the cleaning... but it had to be at a time convenient for them. I wasn't particularly interested in that, because the specific reason for the cleaning was pictures and an open house in order to sell our condo. More cleaning after the event we wanted the condo clean for doesn't help us. Additionally, we weren't able to accommodate their cleaning schedule, even if we wanted it recleaned. I asked them to instead just refund the extra fee we paid for a deep cleaning + windows. I feel it's reasonable to only have to pay for what we received... I didn't ask for the entire cost to be refunded, since we did get a cleaning, even if it wasn't great. Their response was to offer a refund of 20% and offer money off a future cleaning... which is a pretty empty offer when I don't have confidence/interest in their services anymore. TL;DR - good website, variable customer customer service, unreliable cleaning I've had better results looking for good Groupons and using that, wouldn't recommend full price for these guys and certainly not if you have an important event/need for cleaning. read more

Want to find cleaners that don't show up? You've found your company. I actually got this company mixed up with a company I used (and liked) before and ended up booking with these guys instead. Last time, their cleaning was mediocre and they were late, but I brushed it off. (Also the woman was complaining about how disgusting my floors were -- yes, some of us know Spanish...) They were supposed to clean my house today. They were supposed to be here at noon, but I was told there was a delay. By 3 pm I hadn't heard from them. At 4pm, I told them via text that if they couldn't come today, then I had to rebook. No text back from them. I called them, but no one answered. They texted me that they would send someone tomorrow, but then texted me again to say that no one would be coming and "I'm very sorry and I know this has been extremely inconvenient for you." read more

Horrible Horrible Service! Do not use them, we used them 2 years ago and they sent maids who understood what cleaning was. We hired them this month to clean a basement room and they sent a contractor who did barely any dusting, left dust, fibers on furniture and chairs did not do the bed, did only floors. Frankly the contractor was complaining saying he was not a maid service. We just threw away money on a wasted cleaning and I am not sure Think Maids is going to give us a credit or even make up for this terrible service. Do not use them, they used to be good 2 years ago, not anymore. Their chat function does not work, no one picks the phone or answers it, how are they surviving as a business? read more

The first time we booked a cleaning, our team showed up 2 hours late (we booked an 11-1pm time and they didn't show up until 4pm). We tried calling their offices but apparently they are closed on Saturdays? I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt because their cleaning was OK (even though their bleach ruined one of my bathmats), but it is now 2pm on the day of my scheduled 11-1pm appointment---and still no show! I've now given up a significant part of my day waiting around for them to show up. I do not recommend this service and I will not be booking again. Rose was amazing! She came for our move in clean yesterday and blew my expectations out of the water. I didn't realize how dirty our new townhouse was until she left, it made it seem like it was a new build and no one had ever lived here before. Do not use this cleaning company. My first appointment was canceled with very late notice. Worse, for my rescheduled appointment, the cleaners just did not show. No call, no explanation, nothing. They say to give them a 2 hour window so I woke up at 730 AM on a Saturday to be ready for their arrival at 8 AM ( after they had confirmed this appointment twice). No one showed by 10 AM so I tried to call support number. Apparently they don't work on saturdays? As an essential worker trying to make my home more safe and hygienic for my roommates during COVID, this unprofessional company demonstrated a huge disrespect for my time. read more

The booking system works well and their website seems legit, but do not use this service. I made an appointment a week out, and received generic emails about the upcoming appointment. Day of appointment, no contact and so I wait 45 mins after appointment time was suppose to start. I try calling the company with the number listed on their website and the auto pickup operator says to press zero to be connected to someone. When you press zero, it then says invalid selection and just takes you into a voicemail box. Spend your money with a real service. This is just not worth the time and hassle. read more

Tl;dr - don't tell me I have a 10:00am booking scheduled and come after 10:00. If you want to to use an arrival window system, you need to change the language you are using to clearly state that you are booking an arrival window period and not a cleaning period. Don't bury that info at the bottom because that is downright disingenuous. Update 2: was offered quid pro quo exchange of free cleaning for review takedown. I will not accept this as I would not be comfortable welcoming a service provider I have publicly complained about into my home. I also find it a bit ethically...off. Update: in response to Chris's comments below, I must say that I did not see or interact with a staff member at 10:35am as suggested, so I cannot verify that claim. Secondly, the 4 hour window I "suggested" results from an estimated two hour cleaning and an estimated two hour service start window. Given that, an end user of this service could expect to devote as much as four hours to this cleaning. Here is how your system places a maximum burden of 4 hours on the customer: 2 hour wait (max) + 2 hour cleaning (estimate) = 4 total hours - wait(actual) + cleaning (actual) = X Service Time(actual) This formula shows the calculus customers need to consider when booking your service. If a customer will need to wait up to two hours to wait for their cleaners to arrive and two hours (for a one bedroom) for the service to be completed. That is asking to customer to devote literally twice as much time as they originally requested to this service. The fourth line of the confirmation email states "please allow us a two hour arrival window to deal with traffic, parking, and other surprises." That is a request asking for a courtesy. I specifically said in my prior communications when the company originally asked to reschedule that I would not be able to grant that courtesy and that the firmness of the time was of significance importance to my service request. The company agreed at the time but failed to live up to its promise. I point you to the ninth line of your confirmation email stating the Date/TIME of service being 10:00 - 12:00pm pm. NOT 10:00 - 12:00 +/- 2 hours and our prior communications the night before. -------------- I scheduled a booking for a 2 hour 10am cleaning. When nobody arrived by 10:30am, I canceled the request for the no call/no show. There is a bit finesse to this situation, so please read through the whole post. What is important here is the conversation I had with them the previous evening: they texted me and asked if they could reschedule for 12:00pm. I told them that that the 10-12pm window was the only time I had available today and that if it could not be accommodated then I would like to cancel. They said not to worry and that my team would arrived as scheduled. Well come 10:30am the day of the cleaning and my apartment still the mess that it is, I reach out to cancel and start to get to work myself - because I LOVE cleaning so much, hence my hiring of a cleaning company...- and they state that they give themselves a "two hour arrival window". Great, so my two hour cleaning can now last as much as four hours where I am chained waiting around. My 10-12 cleaning could turn into a 12-2 cleaning. That's clearly not what I wanted. And remember, I specially told them my availability and if that could not be met then it would need to be canceled. I was assured this would not be an issue. Well, it was an issue. A serious issue. Once I told them to cancel they said that a team would be there in 5-10 minutes, but once I have to complain about people I will be inviting into my home I no longer feel comfortable inviting them in. It just makes me uneasy. I requested a full refund. It was supposedly granted. I have the hold on my card still, but this all happened a few minutes ago. They "graciously" waived the $70 same day cancellation fee, which saved me the hassle of submitting the charge-back form to my credit card company. read more

I booked online for arrival between 12 and 2 pm. A bit before 2, the office called to say the cleaner had run into difficulties at prior job and wouldn't be there til 4, and what did I want to do? We agreed to keep the later time; I said the weekend wasn't an option. But then at 4 pm, two people showed up who the first cleaner had called for backup- but they arrived at the wrong address (mine.). Then the cleaner called to say the first job had consumed the day and could we do tomorrow (not an option for me, as I'd already said to main office.) So, they might be excellent but the whole day was a rolling reschedule, then canceled. And this was my first booking--, it wasn't a good start. Plus, I had spent a whole day waiting at home. BEWARE!!! This company is the worst and I use cleaners all the time because I am disabled. Preparing for my husbands memorial service, I called for a home cleaning and evidently the job was too big for them to handle. DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU NEED FAST AND/OR EFFICIENT SERVICE. There were areas they didn't dust, they left the trash on my front porch, didn't empty ash trays, etc. I called and they won't refund me even after I sent 14 pics of what was not done because, and I quote, "they would have been here for two days." Super easy process. I was looking for a house cleaning service on ThumbTack and while they came back with a higher rate, they were available for online scheduling and were available the next day. Three people came for a 1,500 sqft home. The cleaning was better than I could have expected and would have taken me days to get the same results. the team was on time, efficient, and very attentive. Do not use this company. Period. The online process was easy, but the service was horrific. The maid showed up over three hours late. Started the service and I inquired about what items would be cleaned. Within 15 minutes, t was becoming clear the cleaning was not what was ordered. I inquired about increased costs for items I wanted done. The maid said she needed to call her supervisor and proceeded to call them, walked outside to her car and talked for over 15 minutes on the phone. Once the lengthily call ended, the maid came back, said we needed a different crew for the job and left right in the middle of the job! Half the refrigerator was cleaned and shelving and drawers were left on the kitchen counter while the sink was full of soapy water. The company then contacted my wife about 30 minutes later and told her the crew wasn't available and yo try another company. This company is a scam filled up by fake yelp users. First and foremost what I really love is being able to book online. I really don't know why every business doesn't have this ability these days. Even better when I had a question while the crew was here, I utilized the chat screen to ask and got a prompt answer. It was actually the owner answering my questions. I don't know if the owner is always the one answer the chats, but that was great! Now for the cleaning. Communications are fantastic, again, they give you the option to utilize modern technology - I opted to receive text reminders of my appointment. I was reminded often that the arrival window is a span of 1-3 hours. As much as this part of cleaning crews bugs me, it's something that is common with them all - they can never predict how much labor is required at the stop before you or traffic. So that's fine. I only have a couple of complaints, which is easy to spot when everything else was nearly perfect. This could just be them not understanding, but they emptied my food scraps bin that we use for composting. I paid extra to have my walls cleaned and there were two spots they missed - hence the not perfect rating. But they were near perfect! The 3 members of the crew arrived as scheduled worked diligently and really did an incredible job. My youngest son's bedroom was a disaster area and told them not to worry about the clutter but to just vacuum in the middle where they could get at it. They actually did pick up a lot of the clutter and the room looks soo much better! Over all my house is far, far better condition than before they came and entirely much cleaner than I could have ever done on my own. UPDATE: wow! that was fast! t's 7am while I write this post and I really wasn't looking for this, but they've credited back the charge for wall cleaning. You guys really have to give them a try, they really do care about customer service. read more

Do NOT use this service. I had tried this out at my rental unit and when I checked on the service, nothing in the apartment had been properly cleaned. There was dirt tracked all over the floor, the bed hadn't been made, and there was food debris/dust all over the kitchen. When I reached out to customer service, they explained that their policy is to only provide re-cleans, not refunds. The past cleaning was especially bad service, so I thought they would try to make up for it. But they foolishly stuck to their policy even with such a terrible experience. I have been trying lots of cleaning services after moving to a new place, and so far, ThinkMaids is my favorite by a mile. My place is actually clean when I arrive home, which is the most important, but also I could schedule and pay online in advance. Costs were clear and simple. I received text confirmation, and text communication along the way, which was perfect. I left my keys in a lockbox, and there was no issue with with passcode or re-locking the house and lockbox at the end. In short, it was pretty effortless, and the place looked great. This company is horribly unprofessional, to say the least. I made a reservation over two weeks ago, for Thursday June 6th. The cleaner was supposed to arrive from 2-4, and didn't get to my place until 4:40. For this reason, we had to reschedule for today, June 22nd. Today's cleaner was supposed to arrive from 12-2. He calls me at 1 pm, from outside my apartment, saying he was having trouble finding a parking spot. Since this is totally understandable on a Saturday afternoon, I went outside and pointed him to a nearby parking lot. 30 minutes later he hadn't come back, so I called the company and the representative said she didn't know why it was taking him so long, and that she was going to ask him to call me back. Fast forward to 2 pm, an hour after he showed up at my door. He never came back and didn't even bother to call me to let me know he was bailing on the job. Funny thing is the company already charged me for a service I didn't receive, and even though I asked to be reimbursed, they still haven't done it. Never again will I hire this terrible company, and I will make sure to beware everyone I know about your lousy customer service and lack of responsibility. I've used Think Maids for several months (almost a year). When I started, I had a top-notch team and became accustomed to their great cleanings. Unfortunately, my team and the company parted ways and it was tough for other teams to match the excellence in the cleanings of my first team. Melissa worked tirelessly to find a team for me. After taking a month or so off from cleanings (I was searching for a new service), Melissa encouraged me to give a new team (Team Jackie) a try. I had my first cleaning with Jackie's team this week and they did an outstanding job; comparable to my first team. They left nothing undone and exceeded my expectations. The only reason I didn't give five stars was because there was no "ahhhh" scent when I came walked in the house from work (like my former team). My hope has been restored in Think Maids and I appreciate Melissa for being vigilant in finding a team that met my demands. I am hopeful that the great service will continue. read more

I asked to be rescheduled, to which they responded they would check their availability, and then I never heard back. I sent a follow up email requesting an update on the tentative reschedule date a day before the service was to be performed and also left a voicemail message. Tracy finally responded to say they have no crew available. Really poor service all the way around, plus I submitted my credit card information when I booked the original appointment.
