Crab Cakes appetizer
Anthony N.

We visited The Willows while checking out the casino this past Wednesday evening and really enjoyed everything at this restaurant. We were seated right away and had excellent service from everyone, especially our waitress Alicia. She really took care of us, answered our questions about the menu options and was wonderful. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer and for entrees we got the veal osso buco and jidori chicken plates. Everything was fantastic. The veal was one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. It was mentioned during our visit that we were celebrating my mother's birthday, and Alicia brought over a lovely ice cream cake desert, which was very kind and appreciated. The decor and ambiance inside was really nice and I was especially drawn to the beautiful light fixtures and wall art decor. Many thanks to the Willows Team for such a wonderful meal. It was a 5-star experience!

Mac and cheese ... read review for secret

Well... I think the photos speak for themselves! Steaks were both amazing. The filet melted in my mouth, hardly took even a push on the knife to cut and the Gorgonzola was the perfect complement. Corn and the spicy sauce... yes please! Send more please! Ok the Mac and cheese was gooey inside and just perfectly crusted and crunchy on top! Ok here's the secret... menu reads "torchio, Parmesan, aged cheddar"... What it doesn't say is it's topped with cheese-it s !!! No joke! The atmosphere here is just like you want it to be. A little darker, a little cooler and a lot yummier than the rest of the casino! Our waitress was great ... very very sweet and very personable! I'm not going to lie though... this was a romantic birthday dinner I was treating my boyfriend to and as much as I enjoyed the banter we got a whole life story from her. I had just driven up from la to meet him here for dinner and we were just wanting some alone time. I think we know more about her than her therapist, that she chatted freely to us about! I spent many years in management and service in the restaurant industry so I always really do value a server who can be themselves with guests.. BUT this was a very expensive romantic dinner for two that became for three... particularly when she brought out my boyfriend's birthday dessert. A time when a couple wants to share their hopes for the next year. Again when she brought the check to be signed... something I don't really like doing while my server is watching. I always tip at least 20% and this was no exception. Next time though I guess we will have to speak up and ask for some alone time!

Great ambiance and service. Food and drinks were delicious. Staff were very accommodating and helpful.

New York State bone in dinner everything was great except for the box mashed potatoes. It's sad that they cant splurge for real potatoes.

The steak was good and the sides were good. It's except for the mashed potatoes that clearly tasted like powder box mashed potatoes. Upsetting for a bill of $230 for 2 people . The waiter Marco was amazing

Willows is a great place for a meal if you are at the casino or nearby. The atmosphere is not "romantic" to me because you have to go through the casino to get to it, but it has a good vibe overall and casual attire is usually fine. The cocktails are great--honestly one of the best lime margaritas I've ever had and the raspberry mingle is like an adult capri sun. Some of the menu items do switch up, like one of my favorites the beet salad is gone but it's been replaced with an amazing fried cauliflower/sweet chili sauce appetizer. Steaks are good quality and the sides are all fantastic so you really can't go wrong. Wait staff is so friendly too!

Absolutely loved our Valentine's Day dinner! Booked our reservation in December '22 and decided it'd be better to have a table indoors. Although there's heat lamps outside- one could never gauge weather that far ahead of time. I didn't want to deal with having any hiccups. With that being said- once we checked in, ladies were given a long stemmed red rose by the hostess. I should've took a photo of the Valentine's Day menu $85pp w/ an additional $30 wine flight option. Hubby ordered the shrimp cocktail for his appetizer. And man! I have never seen shrimps that HUGE before! I ordered the lobster bisque. And I love how chunks of fresh lobster were at the bottom of the bowl. The bisque is poured from a carafe. We both enjoyed our 7oz medium filet mignon. Both were peppercorn crusted. I enjoyed every tender melt in your mouth bite. Pour over the light gravy. The sides we picked were the mushrooms, garlic infused mashed potatoes, and the Mac n cheese. Thought I was gonna have room for dessert. But, silly me. We walked away with leftovers from our side dishes. Staff was amazing and always checked in on us.

Frank and Chef Sergio are pretty consistent on delivering tasty items at Willows. Even if you don't plan on gambling in the casino or catching a show, you cant go wrong at Willows. Service is always on point and they have a great selection on the menu as well as the bar. We'll worth a visit if you are looking for great steaks or seafood.

I love this restaurant definitely the best I've ever had. The lobster was cooked to perfection so was the steak. Service was amazing and they were able to get us a reservation same day for a group of seven. it is so convenient that you can have a nice dinner and then have fun at the casino for a while. everything that we ordered was delicious no complaints. I will definitely be coming back here. The surf and turf is Amazing highly recommended it!

First off, nothing bad to say about the food at all. It was amazing. The place was beautiful and the dishes looked even more amazing than I had expected. I came for a late dinner for my bday which my boyfriend had told the staff and made note of it when making the reservation. The staff was more concerned with the other tables than ours. Waters were not refilled. The service was pretty bad but atleast they weren't rude. I'm assuming because we were young and one of the only colored guests we were not being attended to much. Kinda sucks because it was a bday dinner and I just wanted to feel good as we came into town that night and came hungry. Oh well, maybe next time we'll just sit at the bar so we don't have to worry about the service.

I came to The Willows on a Chumash Casino weekend getaway back in early September for my father's early birthday celebration. We did dinner here and it was an experience. Honestly, I love this place! It's an upscale restaurant that serves delicious food with the best service in town. When you walk in, the dining room is dimmed and there is this big and beautiful pendant lighting that makes the room feel so elegant and sleek. Our server Jane was such a sweetheart. She was very friendly, so sweet and she was very on point with everything. She has very sharp memory skills and wouldn't forget a single request we made. Her talent was well noted by all the diners that night. She is definitely the best and admire her cognitive skills for the amazing work she does. The food was incredible. Started off with crab cakes and oysters and then had the Wagyu steak with Mac and Cheese as my main course (not pictured here because I forgot to snap a picture of it, lol) One thing I regret is not getting a cocktail from here but there is always next time. I heard it's incredible. We really enjoyed our experience and my dad was in awe of how great the food tasted. He is a very picky eater and I can safely say his approval was beyond a 100%. Will be coming back here to celebrate another occasion.

I had high hopes for this restaurant but encountered several issues with service and wait times. It was not a smooth or enjoyable experience. A dinner that started at 6:45 ended after 9:00 and not due to anything on my party's part. The food was good but nothing special. The drinks were nice and strong though. My experience was honestly 2 stars but I gave it 3 because the food was ok and our server (though hard to find) was as at least kind and friendly.

Are nice jeans acceptable attire? And does anyone know the cost of the corkage fee?

Karen, jeans are acceptable attire. The dress code is pretty relaxed. As far as the cork fee I do not have an answer.

Do we get free dessert, if it is your birthday?

Yes. It is ice cream.

The filet was phenomenal -- honestly one of the top three filets I've ever eaten. Perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and full of flavor. The sides were just as impressive, and the Mud Pie for dessert was absolutely ridiculous in the best possible way -- rich, indulgent, and unforgettable. We went on Sunday night, the day after Valentine's Day, and the place was packed (good thing they take reservations). We'd had an unfortunate experience the night before at a different local restaurant, but despite the crowd, we were seated right away at a great table. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance: relaxed but upscale, with a retro country steakhouse vibe that feels both classic and comfortable. The staff was outstanding -- attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. We also enjoyed a fantastic local cab from Brave & Maiden that paired beautifully with the steak. From start to finish, it was a perfect evening. This place absolutely lives up to its reputation.

We started with Bloody Marys, which were insanely good. They were out of the Verde, but the bartender improvised and made us something even better. It came with what might be the best bacon I've ever had, which is a bold claim but I stand by it. He even came out to check on us and talk through what he was testing. We loved them. We ordered the deviled eggs with trout roe, which were to die for. Highly recommend. Then we split the breakfast sandwich. They divided it in the kitchen and brought it out with two side salads, which is always such a nice touch. Service was incredible, the atmosphere was lovely, and the whole thing felt a little indulgent in the best way. Exactly what you want on a beautiful spring day in Santa Ynez. We'd been to Bells for lunch and heard rhapsodic things about this sister restaurant and were excited to go for a getaway date. We showed up half an hour late for our 7:45 Saturday night reservation and were relieved that we didn't lose our table. (No joke, our hot air balloon landed behind schedule.) The restaurant doesn't have a phone, so I had to message them on Instagram. Thankfully, they received the message and were very understanding. Dinner service was in full swing when we arrived, and we were seated right away. The space was lovely, contemporary and attractive, with designy fixtures and cool art on the walls. The vibe was casual and comfortable, and service was great. We'd been drinking wine all day and went easy on the alcohol, getting a glass each of the Mas Martinet Menut, a Spanish Priorat Garnaxta blend, and the Storm Sauvignon Blanc, a local selection. Both were excellent, and worked well with our dinner. The food was delicious. We started with a few picks from the raw seafood section, a half dozen oysters, some Santa Barbara sea urchin, and Peruvian scallops. The oysters were fresh Pacific Gold Reserves from Moro Bay and Fortunes from PEI, Canada, served on ice with cocktail sauce, mignonette, and lemon. The sea urchin was okay, the only skip of the meal, but I wasn't sorry to eat it. The scallops were fantastic, sweet in their shells, finished with BD's Pixie tangerine and mint. (BD came up a couple times on the menu; I assume it's a farm.) Next, we dug into the pan con tomate, Chef Bri's rosemary and saffron focaccia with a side of vibrant, jammy tomato. We added the boquerones, a pro move. These were five plump, salty marinated anchovies that were destined to be eaten with pan con tomate. We ordered two entrées and both were outstanding. The Morro Bay vermilion rockfish was a beautiful piece of fish, served with Finley Farm snap peas, tendrils, consommé, and mint. The heritage pork chop was tender, juicy, and super flavorful, seasoned with fennel pollen, with a bright side salad of BD's arugula and Finley fennel. We shared a bowl of vanilla ice cream with Pedro Ximénez sherry for dessert, and it was kind of perfect. I don't think I'd had this combination before and am thinking of buying Pedro Ximénez sherry just to put it on ice cream at home. This was a wonderful dinner, one I'd be happy to repeat almost course for course. If you're planning to hang out in Los Olivos, I'd highly recommend booking a table at Bar Le Côte. It's worth going out of your way for, too. Like Bells in Los Alamos, it's a destination on its own.

We ordered a half-dozen Oysters, the Peel & Eat Shrimp, the Peruvian Scallops, the Santa Barbara Sea Urchin, the Paella Negra, the Boquerones, the Roasted "Fortune" Oysters, and the BLC Spiced Fries. All the seafood was so fresh and the paella was especially delicious. The fries were a bit of a miss for me since they didn't really have much seasoning, but they still came out hot and crunchy. I'd love to come back for their Happy Hour (runs from 3-5 PM every day and all night on Thursdays) and to try the Dinner For Two (Chef's 7 Course Tasting Menu available after 4 PM).

There's a cute sticker machine at the wait area, for a dollar you can get a random sticker in either the peasants farm/feast brand, or what I think are local brands and artists? We chose the local brands and the slight disappointment when a sole Enegren sticker was revealed, washed over us (none of us drink). But I enjoy it being there. Despite the chill there's plenty of heaters around that make the meal plenty enjoyable. The food is around $20-30 per person if you're being stingy like us and not ordering extras like drinks or starters. And the menu rotates daily I think, everything that was recommended to me by friends wasn't on the menu. But I felt pretty full with just half the fig grilled cheese for a meal and snaking on the rest later in the day. It was the perfect blend of savory sweet, like a cheesy geode with a rock exterior of Parmesan crispy bits flaking off and rich bread but inside was gooey soft cheese that was elevated with a satisfyingly sweet fig jam. The dipping sauce the potatoes were given is kind of boring, it looked colorful but felt like just a spicy mayo. The soup was a zappy blend of carrot, ginger, and turmeric? It felt like one of those health shots subdued down smooth with cream. Our server offered bread with it and we did assume it would be $5+ but it isn't listed in the menu to my knowledge. The hot chicken was really good though, there's a multifaceted layer where you can taste the sweetness of the bread, the kick of the pickles, the crunch of the breading, and finally the succulent chicken. It's quite good! Patio is dog friendly, we were seated next to a very polite, and very excited dog. So far my favorite place to eat in Solvang!

We started with delicious cold, crisp martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives and a bowl of water for our pup. Our server (Chelsea B?) was so fun and friendly! We then had maybe the best wedge salad we've ever had! I think the lettuce was cut to, but not thru, the base, and opened up, with toppings inside. Roasted beet cubes, bacon, blue cheese and shallots, plus cherry tomatoes, hard boiled egg quarters and fried shallots garnish. It was incredible. I think they should call it "More than a Wedge." We also had the Ahi crudo, which had a delicious sauce and thinly sliced peppers. I wasn't too hungry, so had the French onion soup as my main course. So, it definitely didn't taste anything like French onion soup! It looked like it, and it was definitely cooked down onions but the flavor wasn't anything like I'd expect. The food items were a bit pricy so my husband and I decided to split some appetizers - Artichokes, French Onion Soup and the Skirt Steak. We ordered the Kids Bolognese Pasta which our daughter loved - I wish my husband and I could have said the same thing about what we ordered. I did enjoy the French Onion Soup the best, but we have made much better artichokes at home and the skirt steak was barely seasoned. To Christian's credit, he did apologize when he arrived, but throughout dinner the service continued to fall short.
