This resturant is wonderful. The service is top of the line, the chefs are so very talented and and totally aware of the sensitivity of spices and flavors. Lamb chips, steaks melt in your mouth. First the host was rude by having us walk to the patio then telling us we had to go back to the lobby and wait. Our server was so sweet and great. The food was also amazing. The portions were so big I was shocked esp considering the prices which were pretty affordable for a steakhouse. Everything was so good. We each ordered a different cut of steak. I ordered the prime medallions medium rare and scallops. They were both cooked so well. The scallops were jumbo size and the medallions were bigger than I was expecting which was a pleasant surprise. The pork belly baos and salad for starters were yummy too. We also got a bread basket. We visited The Willows while checking out the casino this past Wednesday evening and really enjoyed everything at this restaurant. We were seated right away and had excellent service from everyone, especially our waitress Alicia. She really took care of us, answered our questions about the menu options and was wonderful. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer and for entrees we got the veal osso buco and jidori chicken plates. Everything was fantastic. The veal was one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. It was mentioned during our visit that we were celebrating my mother's birthday, and Alicia brought over a lovely ice cream cake desert, which was very kind and appreciated. The decor and ambiance inside was really nice and I was especially drawn to the beautiful light fixtures and wall art decor. Many thanks to the Willows Team for such a wonderful meal. Well... I think the photos speak for themselves! Steaks were both amazing. The filet melted in my mouth, hardly took even a push on the knife to cut and the Gorgonzola was the perfect complement. Ok here's the secret... menu reads "torchio, Parmesan, aged cheddar"... What it doesn't say is it's topped with cheese-it s !!! No joke! The atmosphere here is just like you want it to be. A little darker, a little cooler and a lot yummier than the rest of the casino! Our waitress was great ... very very sweet and very personable! I'm not going to lie though... this was a romantic birthday dinner I was treating my boyfriend to and as much as I enjoyed the banter we got a whole life story from her. I had just driven up from la to meet him here for dinner and we were just wanting some alone time. I think we know more about her than her therapist, that she chatted freely to us about! I spent many years in management and service in the restaurant industry so I always really do value a server who can be themselves with guests.. BUT this was a very expensive romantic dinner for two that became for three... particularly when she brought out my boyfriend's birthday dessert. A time when a couple wants to share their hopes for the next year. Again when she brought the check to be signed... something I don't really like doing while my server is watching. This is a beautiful restaurant experience. Walking from the busy and noisy casino and walking into the restaurant is like walking through a worm-hole to another time and place. Every person encountered from greeter, server and bus staff, was professional happy and helpful... in some instances predicting our needs ...with an earnest desire to make sure our experience was enjoyable. I was at Willow Restaurant & Bar while attending a retreat at Chumash Casino Resort, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The retreat came with a fixed menu, which is understandable, but the options offered were not to my liking. I kindly asked if I could order something from the regular restaurant menu and bring it into my section of the room, but was told that wasn't allowed. I don't believe guests should be forced to settle for food they don't enjoy, especially at a resort of this caliber. It felt inflexible and unaccommodating, especially since I was still willing to pay out of pocket for something else. A little customer consideration goes a long way -- sadly, I didn't feel like that was extended here. Willow may look upscale, but the experience left a bad taste. I hope management reconsiders how they handle guest needs, especially during special events and retreats. read more

Willows is a great place for a meal if you are at the casino or nearby. The atmosphere is not "romantic" to me because you have to go through the casino to get to it, but it has a good vibe overall and casual attire is usually fine. The cocktails are great--honestly one of the best lime margaritas I've ever had and the raspberry mingle is like an adult capri sun. Some of the menu items do switch up, like one of my favorites the beet salad is gone but it's been replaced with an amazing fried cauliflower/sweet chili sauce appetizer. Absolutely loved our Valentine's Day dinner! Booked our reservation in December '22 and decided it'd be better to have a table indoors. Although there's heat lamps outside- one could never gauge weather that far ahead of time. I didn't want to deal with having any hiccups. With that being said- once we checked in, ladies were given a long stemmed red rose by the hostess. I should've took a photo of the Valentine's Day menu $85pp w/ an additional $30 wine flight option. Hubby ordered the shrimp cocktail for his appetizer. And man! I have never seen shrimps that HUGE before! I ordered the lobster bisque. And I love how chunks of fresh lobster were at the bottom of the bowl. The bisque is poured from a carafe. We both enjoyed our 7oz medium filet mignon. Both were peppercorn crusted. I enjoyed every tender melt in your mouth bite. Pour over the light gravy. The sides we picked were the mushrooms, garlic infused mashed potatoes, and the Mac n cheese. I came for a late dinner for my bday which my boyfriend had told the staff and made note of it when making the reservation. The staff was more concerned with the other tables than ours. Waters were not refilled. The service was pretty bad but atleast they weren't rude. I'm assuming because we were young and one of the only colored guests we were not being attended to much. Kinda sucks because it was a bday dinner and I just wanted to feel good as we came into town that night and came hungry. I had high expectations for this restaurant and overall it was so so... The prices are pretty high especially for the proteins. I don't mind paying high prices at all but I do if only some things are good. The restaurant is clean and bright. Everyone was super nice. Our waitress was great. So overall ambiance is nice. Service was top notch. Now the food... The bread basket was meh. I've been to other high end restaurants where the bread basket is way better. Most people like hot fresh bread. I will say the fancy butter was good. The wedge salad was good. The calamari was very disappointing. Not nearly enough calamari and half the basket was full of undercooked funnel and onion. I love calamari and this was bad. The dipping sauce was good though. The lobster bisque was very good but needed to be hotter, mine came out warm. The desert choice of s'mores was delivered in a beautiful presentation but lacked proper flavor. I do not recommend this for a dessert, it was disappointing! All of our bar drinks were good. I'll save the best for last as the lollipop lamb chops with a touch of mint sauce were some of the best that I've ever had!!! Very good! I wish the rest of the meal was as good. Would I go back... probably not. For less money and more flavor I'd go somewhere else... I came to The Willows on a Chumash Casino weekend getaway back in early September for my father's early birthday celebration. We did dinner here and it was an experience. Honestly, I love this place! It's an upscale restaurant that serves delicious food with the best service in town. When you walk in, the dining room is dimmed and there is this big and beautiful pendant lighting that makes the room feel so elegant and sleek. Our server Jane was such a sweetheart. She was very friendly, so sweet and she was very on point with everything. She has very sharp memory skills and wouldn't forget a single request we made. Her talent was well noted by all the diners that night. She is definitely the best and admire her cognitive skills for the amazing work she does. The food was incredible. Started off with crab cakes and oysters and then had the Wagyu steak with Mac and Cheese as my main course (not pictured here because I forgot to snap a picture of it, lol) One thing I regret is not getting a cocktail from here but there is always next time. I heard it's incredible. We really enjoyed our experience and my dad was in awe of how great the food tasted. He is a very picky eater and I can safely say his approval was beyond a 100%. A basket of bread products and butter was brought to our table. We ordered one of their Christmas Prix Fixe Menu ($75 per menu), Chop Salad ($14), Mac and Cheese ($11), and 1 lb Baked Potato ($11) with the works. For the prix fixe menu, we chose the Potato Leek Soup, Mero Seabass, and Warm Persimmon Cake. Food came out timely and at the right temperature. Their chop salad was very good. I really liked it even though the thought of bacon mixed with dried cranberries, apples, and greens wouldn't normally be my thing. The soup was very tasty although I would prefer some kind of meat/seafood to be included. Seabass was good especially with the sauce. Mac and cheese was good and cheesy. Baked potato was big but strangely they provided only a small amount of fixings. This wasn't thought out in my opinion. The amount they provide is more fitting for a standard size potato not a big 1 lb potato. I asked for more bacon but I actually would have liked more sour cream, cheese, and chives. Cake was good but nothing special. Service was excellent. Ambiance was comfortable. I did notice one mistake after the fact. Starting off with service, from the hosts in front to the servers to the food runners, everyone was very polite, sweet, and catered to anything you needed! Very welcoming too. High-end steakhouse located inside of the Chumash casino in Santa Ynez (the town next over to Solvang). Very well-staffed with a nice variety of steaks. You're not going to find a chuck roast here. It's all the prime cut meats, and they're offered a la carte (no combo selections) in pretty substantial portions. Settled on the bone-in ribeye, medium rare, with a side of fingerling potatoes Both items were minimally seasoned. The ribeye had a nice fat to meat ratio and was super tender. Ate about half of it before tapping out. The fingerling potatoes were drenched in too much oil, however. So, if you lucked out at the tables, go treat yourself to a nice big steak. The very first time we came here last year I got the tomahawk steak and my wife got a ribeye but after she tasted mine she loved it. Since then we've been here twice just this year(2024) and have been getting our own tomahawks because it is so good that we know if we shared just one it wouldn't be enough for both of us. We came here on 12-29-2024 randomly because my wife said she had to use up whatever was left on here chumash card before it expired. It was so busy and packed. Since it was a last minute dinner plan we did not make reservations so opt to be seated outdoors to be seated quickly. The service last night was not upto par compared to the last two times we were there. If the bar area was not crowded we would have ate there instead. I was a little worried about it being cold and windy last night but their heat lamps were pretty up high so it wasn't too hot or cold. The best part of being outside was the fresh air, the restaurant inside smelled a lot more like cigarettes than usual maybe because there were soooo many more people than usual cause of the holiday season. Once we were seated it took 10 minutes for someone to serve us water & bread while letting us know that a server will be with us soon. Well the server didn't come out until 15mins later to take our order. They forgot my wife's mashed potatoes and I knew our server wouldn't come check up on us once all our food was out even if we needed more water. When he finally came out because I kept looking, I told him he forgot my wife's mashed potatoes so we just asked him to pack it to go and by time he brought it out we wanted take the leftovers. We ended up staying in the restaurant til almost closing time(we got seated around 7:50pm)because it took the server soooo long to pack our leftovers. Also maybe cause everyone who ate outside all finished and we were the only ones left. They also turned off the heat lamps and I started to get cold while waiting for our leftovers to get packed and for the check come out. Since it was a fairly long wait and maybe someone saw me cross my arms cause I was cold someone turned my side of the heat lamps back on. When the server finally came back with our packed leftovers and check we told him we had a twism deal, he told us that if it's more than a $100 it doesn't apply but he talked to the manager and he also apologized for not being attentive that next time we come he would be better and because of that we actually got the twism deal. Which definitely made up for the lack of service that night. We love this tomahawk steak too much to not come back. read more

A mistake. Great quality ingredients, nice staff, subpar menu and atmosphere. I would never consider returning with all the other great options in the valley, and to be honest, I'm still slightly annoyed about the cost of this experience vs our experience. This place touts itself as an elegant and romantic "four diamond" restaurant. This is not, by any means, elegant or romantic. I have no idea what the four diamond rating is from, but don't let it fool you like it did us. Also, a tip - never make a reservation on the same night there is a show at the casino. They serve concert goers first. So despite our reservation, we waited a very long time for our food, and once the people cleared out all our food was brought at once and was hanging off the edges of our tiny table. This is NOT elegant or romantic. It's odd, hard to manage, and slightly embarassing. To add to the tacky vibe, the place was an absolute madhouse. There was a table of very drunk people literally screaming and yelling and horrible music piled in. I could barely hear my date. This was not the atmosphere we expected. Now for the food and drinks. I ordered a pomegranate martini, it was basically an extra sweet cosmopolitan. Then we started with a dozen oysters. I didn't enjoy the oysters with the caviar and mignonette, they were cloyingly sweet. Just an off flavor for an oyster. So odd...so far everything had been sweet, I wonder what type of palate they are catering to? They brought two salads on accident, I told the server that we didn't order two and he told me we did. Odd.... But we didn't and the waiter came by to apologize. Then the entrees came. Where to put them? Ugh. The salad was fresh but didn't get a choice of dressing and this again was very sweet. So much cloying sweetness and we haven't even started out entrees..but they were sitting there getting cold. I had the surf and turf. The potatoes seemed to be a bit stiff and congealed on the plate. The sauted spinach was delicious and had a bit of garlic, I squeezed a bit of lemon on it. The filet was decent quality cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the lobster wad cooked nicely. If I'd known the first part of the meal was going to be so sweet I would have not opted for lobster. Best part of the meal was the crème brûlée which, oddly enough, was not nearly as sweet as the oysters and salad. My wife and I made reservations several weeks earlier and dressed up and went to Willows last night for our anniversary dinner. The restaurant is located upstairs and away from the casino. When you arrive you are greeted in a beautiful entry displaying numerous 4 star dining awards along with many Wine Spectator awards for their world class wine list. The hostess was delightful, wished us happy anniversary and gave us our choice of inside or a lovely outdoor dining terrace complete with white tablecloths, fireplace and plenty of heating lamps. It was a bit breezy so we chose to sit inside. Dining room was beautiful with tables spaced nicely apart. We were quickly greeted by our wonderful server, "Tish". As we had not been there before, she took our drink order and walked us through the menu. We were warned portions are very large and suggested maybe one entrée and appetizer to share between us. We ordered the Blackened Ahi appetizer ( large portion of ahi over a bed of pea shoots ) and the Steak Frites ( 14 oz. flat iron steak, fries and blackened broccolini ). Drinks arrived promptly and a basket with four kinds of amazing house cooked breads. After time to enjoy our drinks, dinner arrived. WOW - flat iron steak was cooked perfectly and was hands down the best steak I have EVER had ( sorry Jockos, Hitching Post, Morton's, Ruth Chris, etc. ). The ahi was so fresh and having just returned from Hawaii we were surprised it was better than any ahi we enjoyed in Hawaii. We left food on the table as portions were indeed large.
