We were created quickly and efficiently and didn't drink but ordered quickly and our food came within 10 minutes or so. I had pork on my nachos. Chips here seem house made and crisp. Pork was seasoned well and a good compliment. Lots of cheese and everything you want for a good experience. The chicken enchiladas looked great, the shredded chicken was eh. I give them 3 stars. The food came out quickly where I had the Truffle Tortellini with cajun shrimp with Maddy's suggestion and it was SO good! My guy had the Alfredo with chicken which to both of us was a bit bland. After a while of the food being dropped off Maddy came around where we asked for some salt and pepper and parmesan which did help the alfredo dish. I ordered a second glass of 5oz wine, less than the already costly 8oz pour but our server brought the 8oz pour. She apologized when I told her was pretty sure I ordered the 5oz but told her I would just keep it. This place has good food, a nice kind of trendy atmosphere which is updated and stylish, with a good menu. Our service wasn't top notch but have had way worse and we thought Maddy was nice at least. On their menu, they have an amazing tomato soup/grilled cheese and falafel wrap that were SO good. I just wanted to recognize the service though. We were taken care of by the staff so nicely. They fit us in when we were late to our reso (had a sick Dog on our way to Jasper) and they were so attentive! I loved how they recommended different wines and liquor, as well as had a thorough knowledge of the menu. I really hope they see this and know that it was appreciated! Something special they did was bring out a birthday cake for my girlfriend. It was thoughtful and the server made the effort to make it gluten-free and vegan so she could eat it. So nice of them. It even had a little "Happy Birthday" note on it. I would 150% eat here again. If I stay at the JPL I really can't wait!

Seating inside it swank and comfy. Lots of configurations and a stellar window view of the lake is the spot to have. Service is cold but efficient. We had some questions about the menu and she went to get answers but didn't seem too excited to be asked. For dinner it's three tables of varying size so not crazy busy at 6pm mid week. The cheese plate was exceptional. Had a cider and the lavender mocktail was really fresh and delicious. The dinner menu wasn't a huge draw and we had hiked here from downtown. I'd come back on a return trip.

We were lucky to get a table at the window as there are only a few with lake views and they are all 2 seaters. We started with the Caesar salad which is unlike a traditional Caesar and I quite prefer this version as it has more interesting flavors and textures. Plus the chef didn't drown it in dressing. I enjoyed the duck entree and the husband had the steelhead. Both were very tasty and I'd recommend either depending your mood. We finished with the Pavlova and berries dessert which was a perfect ending to a lovely meal along with strong, hot black coffee. It Hit The Spot! I'm going to have that giant burger next time I'm through Hinton.
