What an absolutely adorable little place!! So cute and quaint, and the staff was AMAZING. Everyone…read morewas so kind and welcoming, and I especially loved how sweet they were to my son. As a mom, the way a restaurant treats your child really stands out, and they made him feel so welcome. The breakfast was seriously to die for and I loved the entire atmosphere. Even the bathrooms are adorable You can eat outside or sit on the deck overlooking the Mystic Marina, which makes the whole experience even better. Such a little hidden gem in Mystic. Amazing breakfast, beautiful views and genuinely kind people. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back!

When we got there, they said it would be another 10 minutes and we needed to wait outside. It's 40° and windy right now. I asked if we could wait in the car and give them my number to text or call me and they said no, they can't do that. I thought that was strange because there's nowhere to stand (the foyer is pictured in our photo). As we were deciding if we still wanted to wait and could bear to wait in the lobby, a woman came out and said she'd been there over an hour and never got food. Her whole party had been waiting for their orders and those orders never came...

No matter, we were there before 11AM so we were served breakfast. The server we had was excellent she was a former employee of the Coffee Break which was the old restaurant in this location. The place is LOUD. The decor is new and refreshed. There is NO WHEEL CHAIR ACCESS (which surprised me as they just renovated the place. One would think the Town of Clinton would have required it.) I had the Breakfast Wrap with sausage and american cheese. It was good and filling. $7.00 (in May 2026) My companion had the Quinoa Omelette pictured 1/2 eaten ($14.75 in May 2026) which was good. The home fries had a little too much salt but were otherwise excellent. Personally when there is salt actually on the table, I always wonder why the cook just lightly dusts with salt as I can add more. We also ordered a fresh fruit cup which had grapes purple and green, strawberries, and a few hard pieces of honey dew melon. $6.50 (May 2026) In May 2026 the hours are 0700-1430 MON - SAT 0700-1200 SUN ****WARNING**** They stop servicing breakfast items at 11AM They do take credit cards BUT... They used to take it right at the table now, they don't which means you wait to pay. Bad move on the owner's part. There is plenty of free parking. I imagine there will be waits once the summer season gets going so plan to wait (maybe on the weekends)?

Looking at the surrounding landscape it probably would have been nicer to dinner in the summer so we could sit outside and enjoy the view while eating our breakfast or lunch. It was fall so it was more seating inside with settling for the bite out the window. The atmosphere within the restaurant was relaxed and nice. At times it did get a little loud with a group talking but other than that we were able to enjoy our breakfast together. We had already looked at the menu online so we knew what we wanted, The Hangry Cure, which was two eggs, two bacon, two sausages, home fries and choice of French toast or pancakes. We opted for one of each so we could share and taste the others. Love that the portions seemed right on the spot. Some places they give you too much. French Toast was large and fluffy like they used Texas Toast. But it did seem a little undone. Probably could have been cooked a little longer. Pancakes were nice and round but hard to cut and a little chewy. Iv think these were cooked a little too much. Eggs and everything else was great though. We did have to wait a little bit to get our credit card taken. Actually took us getting the servers attention to come get it. The place has slowed down so not sure why we were forgotten, probably giving us more time to socialize at the table. I think next time we will stop in for lunch to check that out.

As we entered and did not have a reservation, we were seated at the bar. I can share- they did not fill up! We could easily been seated at a table but the bar was not an issue. Nice guys working the bar. We went very simple: tomato soup that comes with focaccia grilled cheese. The tomato soup was delivered with balsamic drizzle and anice grilled cheese stick. It was a great meal for a rainy day. It was good. We opted to share a dessert: sticky toffee pudding. It was soft and the caramel was sweet and smooth. DELICIOUS! Overall great experience. I would definitely return to The Cafe if in teh area again.

Took a while to arrive. The pork belly was exquisitely rendered with beautifully charred skin and tender meat. Lobster roll served warm was very good, the lobster was a little overcooked but still a highlight. Buttermilk Fried Chicken had super crisp skin and was executed and presented perfectly, great tasting together with the accompanied pickled vegetables and hot-honey butter. The best dish of the night. Sticky toffee pudding was as good as advertised: sticky, textured, with interesting mouthfeel offset by lightly whipped cream. Tequila based El Mariachi was tasty and balanced but not memorable.
