Perfect perfect well known classic for Squamish. Right on the beautiful river with ample bike parking, a trail to explore if they're on a wait and lots of tables with a view, even decent car parking considering! Chill and quick service, a great caeser (drink) nice home made tomato soup, a surprisingly lovely hollandais and juicy burger. No complaints on the food at decent prices!

The tasty mussels & that fab garlic bread!

Well, of course we had to stop in twice while we were on vacation in Squamish to take in the local vibes and the beautiful scenery after a hike on the government road around the Squamish River. Chill, laid-back, fun , great views and they have great food. What a combo! We started with one of their delicious bloody Caesars, perfectly spiced and fresh. Next, we had their mussel bowl served with amazing crunchy buttery garlic bread which was delicious dipped into the creamy mussel broth, yum! Actually, the whole menu was very enticing with a great selection of burgers, fries, salads and desserts ( the fresh & hot mini cinnamon sugar donuts with whipped cream are calling my name ) Next time I'm in Brakendale it's my first stop.

Immediately friendly service and super attentive without being pushy. The server even helped me find a great breakfast spot for the next day because I told her I had to get up extra early! I ordered a bunless burger and the portion was still very substantive. I couldn't finish it all! The Burger patty was juicy with crispy bacon. It a nice rustic low key place to hang out. I would come back with friends!

The staff was so friendly and inviting! Rosie was our waitress and she was amazing! The burgers we had were the probably the best we have ever had! Will definitely be going here again the next time we visit Canada! Loved the scenery! I chose this place because it's Jack's Bar on Virgin River...well the exterior is anyways. Just beautiful!

Great location on the river and friendly service. Parking is not easy during busy times and the waitstaff gets swamped but they are cheery. Food is hot and fresh.

We absolutely loved this place! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. The food was some of the best I had during my time in Canada, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. I'd go back in a heartbeat--100% recommend! The tomato soup, in particular, was one of the best I've ever had.

Great spot located on the river so the setting is lovely. Parking is across the road, down just a bit, but not too far away even on a cool evening. Service was good, we sat in back area and I imagine during the warmer months this would be a perfect place to linger over dinner while enjoying the view. We had a couple of the local draft beers which were great. Husband had the fish & chips which was fresh and good. I went with the Salmon burger and subbed the salad for the fries. I enjoyed both tremendously! If I were a local I can see this being our regular spot!

Came here due to the Virgin River hype. The view is beautiful and the food is good. Service was super quick considering how packed the restaurant was. Fish and Chips- the fish was extremely fresh Beef Chili (soup of the day, great) Onion Rings (have had better, batter was just okay) Chicken Pot Pie (tasty)

Yes, I am a Virgin River fan and went looking for Jack's Bar...found it here at The Watershed Grill and so glad we did. It sits along the Squamish River---a beautiful view from anywhere in the restaurant and relaxes you as soon as you get there. I am giving this place 5 stars for their food and their service. First, they have a very diverse menu. Canadian staples, a few Japanese items, and then just great down home offerings. You also have the opportunity to do Happy Hour every day: I ordered the burger with fries and had some tomato soup on the side. The burger was cooked perfectly--just slightly pink on the inside, well seasoned, and juicy. They add a house made sauce, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and bacon at no extra cost. It was really good. The fries were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The tomato soup was delicious as well---not acidic, small tomato chunks, and lots of cheese. Our server was present and quick and really took ownership. I'm glad that Virgin River brought me here, but this place definitely doesn't need a tv show to keep its customers coming back.

It's rustic in that honest, country way: wood, warmth, and a smallish-town Squamish vibe that makes you slow down whether you meant to or not. The location does half the work for the ambiance, the rest comes from the feeling that someone actually cares about feeding you well. This is home-cooked brunch with intention. Portions are generous without being sloppy, and every plate feels thought out, like it's been tested by real people who eat breakfast for a living. The pancakes are the headline act--huge, fluffy, unapologetic, and exactly what you want when you're leaning back in your chair wondering if you should order another coffee or surrender to a food coma. And if the night before got a little loose, the double Caesar is a public service: bracing, restorative, and delivered without judgment - oh my aching head. What really seals it, though, is the staff--genuinely welcoming, on their game, and clearly proud of the place. The Crabapple Café isn't trying to be trendy or precious. It's just very good at what it does. A must-try in Squamish, especially if you believe breakfast should be comforting, filling, and a little bit healing. This is not our first time, and definitely not our last. The cafe has become our way station before heading up to Whistler. CHEERS!!!

I've seen these Freshii locations all over Vancouver and decided to grab a quick to go lunch after errands in Squamish. Unfortunately something was a bit off about my Zen salad (think it was the dressing?), like something was allowed to live a little bit longer than it was supposed to in the refrigerator. And for over $9 my zen salad was comprised of half of the bad parts of romaine lettuce only had a few edamame, sour tasting mango bits (thank goodness there were only 4 tiny pieces), 3 tiny tiny shreds of broccoli, and soggy crunchy won ton strips, that's not so zen to me. Maybe they are not known for this salad or maybe I ordered the wrong thing? I have no idea but I'll never spend this amount of money for something that I can get way better and cheaper at McDonald's. I was also disappointed that they don't make juices when you order, they pre-make everything and stick them in refrigerators, so if you come here closer to 1pm they are already out of a lot of options because they don't make more. So why the three stars? Well service was good, they are fast and maybe I just don't know of what to order in here yet or this was just an off day. I'll give them a try again but not for that salad! #Squamish

But don't sleep on Squamish's limited-but-delicious food scene. A solid place to start is Backcountry Brewing, a blink-and-you'll-miss-it bar and restaurant on the back side of the towns main shopping plaza. Since debuting in 2017, Backcountry has been a British Columbia beer darling; now, Backcountry prides itself on an ambitious lineup of limited-release beers. From the outside, the converted warehouse blends in with the rest of the industrial block. But inside, Backcountry is lively and inviting. The accents sport a tan and teal color palette. The bar to the right is decked with retro bulbs and a letterboard menu. Sound-dampening panels and camo-shaded lamps hang down from the soaring exposed HVAC. Each table is decked with a laminated BC map and mid-century modern chairs. Eighties tunes echo around the halls. My partner and I visited Backcountry after a full day of hiking, ready to chow down; we ordered a sandwich, a pizza, and a few flights. The Soprano -- Italian Sando was piled high with capicola, mortadella, and prosciutto cotto on a fluffy, poppyseed-laden foccacia. Our side of Five Guys-style, wedge-cut fries was rich and salty, and we loved each one of Backcountry's house-made sauces more than the last. The Meat Your Maker pizza was a deliciously nostalgic riff on the classic meat-lovers pizza. The thin crust stood up against the hefty helping of toppings, and the poofy cornicione paired perfectly with the exciting sauces. On the brewery side, the flights proved to be a fun deal. Across the beers, I was most impressed by the sours. Our collective favorite was the "Plan B? We Need A Plan C, D, E, We Need More Alphabets" (a basil-forward pineapple sour), while the "I'll Take You To the Candy Shop" (a peach-centric sour) and the "Might As Well Go For A Soda" (a gummy cola-esque cherry sour) were strong competitors. Meanwhile, the non-sour beers I tried were relative duds, including the "Never Taken A Shortcut Before?" oatmeal stout and the Sneaky Peach Cider. The service was friendly but somewhat inattentive throughout the meal, and the bill came to about $60 (after tax and tip). More than anything else, Backcountry satisfied -- it achieved the ideal brewery balance of fun, elevated, and casual. After our stay in Whistler, I admittedly had low expectations for Squamish, but Backcountry Brewing was a beyond-pleasant surprise, and I surely would visit again.
