    West Coast eggs benedict
    Elsa C.

We walked a lot and was able to make it to this place at 1:12pm on a sunny Saturday in September. The cafe closes at 2pm so we were able to make it in time. The prices reflect the service level you will receive. That is, minimal chitchat, self serve of water and utensils, broken debit/credit machine when we were there so it was cash only. We ordered and sat outside on the surprisingly large patio space. The servers somehow remembered everyone's order and was bringing out our orders. We ordered a West Coast eggs benedict ($16) and a Roast Chicken & Swiss sandwich ($13). Service took 10mins and the food was surprisingly well-prepared and tasty. Portions are decent as well. Overall: a borderline hole-in-the-wall cafe that has decent breakfast/brunch food. We rank this place 3.5, and rounded up to 4*. Wouldnt mind coming back.

The honey ham eggs benedict was delicious! Great service! Perfect ambiance, we will definitely be coming back.

I tried the below items - Provision egg sandwich (9/10) the fried poached egg was a nice texture and super yummy, but one egg is a bit little - Crispy Parmesan Chicken sandwich (9/10): amazing sandwich and huge portion, but can get a bit heavy after awhile - passion fruit cruffins (7.5/10) very nice pastry to try recommended by the cashier, but definitely super messy to eat - Truffle fries (10/10) MUST GET! - Lavender matcha (9/10) I really appreciate how they were able to minimally sweeten my matcha because I just like a tiny hint of sweetness - matcha latte (9/10) - chicken salad sandwich (8/10) very refreshing - blueberry sweet cream cold brew (8/10) refreshing and not too sweet Highly recommend this place for the food but it's always packed. Both times we were able to get a table but the tables are so crowded.

Eventually one opened up outside. But there were quite a few parties just chilling at the tables without food or drink. This could be managed a bit better for guests already with food. I tried the maple matcha. I didn't see a regular one. But i Think I would prefer a non sweetened version. I'm site they have it. Otherwise it was super tasty. I also tried the provisions breakfast sandwich with a crispy poached egg. It should come with a warning label because the yolk really pops and can create quite a mess. We also enjoyed a morning bun. It's citrusy, sweet, crunchy, perf morning treat! Overall if we hadn't hit the rush it would have been a perfect experience.

Their fried wings were incredibly savory. The ribs were fall off the bone tender. I also enjoyed the cornbread and the mixed greens. The staff was friendly and the chef chatted with us too. We'd definitely come back again the next time we were in Whistler. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating.

First, there's plenty of seating. You come in, get a menu, seat yourself, and when you're ready, order at the counter. They will bring your food to you. We got a table outside in the sun. We ordered the Grants Platter for Two and shared it between three hungry adults and we still had a lot of leftovers (which were super tasty later)! My favorites from this platter were the brisket (so tender and just the right amount of smokiness) and the chicken wings with dry rub (fried to crispy perfection). The ribs and pulled pork were also really good, but since I prefer my barbecue without sauce, these didn't appeal to me as much as the brisket. I also liked the fresh and tasty mixed greens salad that we got as one of our sides--very balanced and delicious. The staff are super friendly here. Our waiter checked on us several times and even the chef came out to see if we liked the food. It was a wonderful lunch. If you're looking for a great meal in Whistler, definitely check out Hunter Gather!

Free parking in the underground lot for the lodge. I tried several items from their summer menu: kale salad - actually quite good. Served warm, charred veg, one of the better dishes. 4/5. Wagyu tartare - 2.5/5. Very small portion, mediocre tasting beef, served with toast that was super greasy. Roast carrots - also pretty good. Nice cook on the carrots, served with a puree. 3.5/5. Truffle fries - average not a lot of potato flavour, but nice texture. Truffle flavour was barely there. Duck breast main - nice cook on the duck meat but the skin and fat were inedible and tough. I like it rendered down more. 3/5. Barely served with anything. Main problem and theme throughout is the poor value. The portions are all tiny for the prices you pay. Yes it is Whistler and its in a lodge with lots of tourists. But still, if you're going to charge these astronomical prices and have tiny portions, then the execution better be immaculate, which it definitely is not. The real highlight was the service and free parking. I wouldnt go out of my way here for the food.

The French onion soup at The Den at Nita Lake Lodge is outstanding…read more It's served hot in a cast-iron pan, with deeply caramelized onions and a rich, well-balanced broth that clearly reflects time and care in its preparation. The gluten-free brioche and Gruyère are thoughtfully proportioned, fully melted and lightly gratinéed, adding depth without overwhelming the soup itself. Nothing feels heavy or overly salty -- just precise, comforting, and very well executed. Enjoyed with a snow-covered lake and mountain backdrop, it's the kind of dish that quietly stands out. Not flashy, just exceptionally good. Easily one of the best French onion soups I've had, and a reason on its own to return to The Den.
