Working in restaurants growing up, I know how it feels to be approached by customers so I make sure to be calm and clear when I address a concern. They dismiss concerns about them delivering the mail to the wrong mailbox. They suggested we got a PO Box and I thought it would help since they were having staff issues during the pandemic. It was a very convenient excuse because now my regular mailbox is filled with 4-6 of my neighbors mail. And mine can not be found. As a struggling contractor on the island, I survive based on checks being sent to me. They have lost several checks and then dismissed my concerns about correcting the issue. I do not support the US Post Office in Vineyard Haven and I recommend finding other solutions for mail. Regardless of the load on this office, they have not been able to handle it. Off season and during Covid when they had assistance from Southborough.

During the summer I rent out my house and it takes to long to wash and dry all the blankets at home so I drop them off at Lapels. They do a great job, it's not that expensive and every week I pick up lovely clean and folded blankets. It is so hard to make sure the house gets cleaned properly every week and it's a huge relief to know that's done. I never knew clean, reliable laundry would be so important in my life but with guests rating my house on every little thing it's become a headache. I'm not sure why they don't have more 5 star reviews. I called and spoke with the manager and then met her at the store. She was so helpful and courteous and everyone there has been the same. HORRIBLE, AWFUL SERVICE! The manager (who has been there for several years) rented a unit to me on…read morethe first day of June for the purpose of storing my belongings for the month. The problem? When I went to store my belongings on June 2nd (Saturday), I found the unit I'd been leased taken/padlocked! While Sun offers 24 access, they do not have an off-hours/weekend contact in place which does no one any good on a Saturday afternoon. Having to move over the weekend and having no other choice at the time, I stored my things in an open/empty unit close to the one I'd rented and left two messages with the Sun office to call me first thing Monday morning. I had to call them when no one responded come Monday morning. The manager was very irritated that I took another unit (although I posted an apology note to the unit owner on the door) and took the time to follow up with Sun myself and she demanded that I either take my belongings and go, move to another unit in another building or move into my original unit once Sun had a chance to clean it out. After some back and forth we agreed that I would move my belongings into the original unit on either Monday or Tuesday evening after work and the manager told me she would have her "guys clean out Unit G115 for you today". Long story long, Sun did not clean out the unit for me to move into -- I found it packed with items (and unlocked I might add) upon my arrival at the facility Monday night after work -- and so I had to move everything a second time into a friend's basement. I demanded a full refund -- we'll see if I get it. The manager never took responsibility and at no time did she apologize for what was clearly her error in the first place. All she had to do was apologize for the mix-up, allow me to stay in the unit I'd taken because of her mistake and accommodate the owner's of that unit with another one (it wasn't even being used so I don't know what difference it would have made) but she refused to anything to compensate or to make the situation easier on anyone but herself. DO NOT USE SUN ISLAND STORAGE!!!!!

Mail is sent to an elderly relative and if the box number is not on it they will send it back regardless. Everyone on that island has a physical mailing address but not everyone or every business on the mainland knows that there is a PO Box associated with it.
