I went back in today, there was not a customer other than myself. A gentleman was sitting at a computer and asked if he could help me. I explained I needed to get one page printed. His response, we don't do that. He tells me I should go to the library. It literally says in the the sign, printers, it says on the website, printers, a neighborhood shop. I suppose it's arbitrary what he chooses to print, a page apparently isn't worth moving for.

Luckily, the ebay seller corresponded with me and gave me the tracking number that their AI insisted on having. FedEx then said all they could do was have the seller file a report. I contacted the seller once again, asking that he do that. Luckily for me a distant neighbor delivered the package. Bottom line -- USPS may not be perfect, but they help with "lost" packages and FedEx sucks.

I ended up purchasing extra insurance and the incredible guy at the front looked me in the eye and said I didn't need it because he was on it, and he was, and I didn't need it. Working in restaurants growing up, I know how it feels to be approached by customers so I make sure to be calm and clear when I address a concern. They dismiss concerns about them delivering the mail to the wrong mailbox. They suggested we got a PO Box and I thought it would help since they were having staff issues during the pandemic. It was a very convenient excuse because now my regular mailbox is filled with 4-6 of my neighbors mail. And mine can not be found. As a struggling contractor on the island, I survive based on checks being sent to me. They have lost several checks and then dismissed my concerns about correcting the issue. I do not support the US Post Office in Vineyard Haven and I recommend finding other solutions for mail. Regardless of the load on this office, they have not been able to handle it. CCPS responded: "It does look like a reused box was used for your shipment, and also definitely looks like the box was improperly handled. We do accept and reuse boxes of good condition, and for items of clothes or other non fragile items, sometimes a reused box fits the items better." Why go to a store that specializes in shipping if they aren't going to put your stuff in a real shipping box? I would never use this business or recommend it to anyone again. Poor service, poor quality and poor value - Stay away and go to the real UPS Store!
