After fainting at the bank with a blood pressure apparently sponsored by powdered sugar and dehydration, Ash calmly: retrieved my certified mail secured the envelopes maintained operational continuity informed EMTs, "She's a fainter" and kept the United States Postal Service moving like the last functioning institution in America. No panic. No confusion. Just calm New England efficiency and commitment to procedural excellence. At one point I was horizontal while my legal documents continued their journey through the federal mail system. Honestly inspiring. Jeff was working behind the counter and apparently didn't know we were in a pandemic, as he was without any PPE. Wear a mask, Jeff! He wasn't even trying to pretend to have one around his chin, or in his work station. Meanwhile, while I was there four other people came in that were in their 60s and one actually turned around and walked out after looking straight at him, and deciding it wasn't worth it. From the moment we entered the Post Office we were greeted by the postal employees who gave us all the information we needed and actually held a conversation with us unlike some of the other Post Offices we have visited in the past. The application was done ahead and on my email but was told it needed to be printed. There were no instructions. I asked for someone to direct me but was told it was against the rules and directed to the library which was closed. I finally found a bank (TD) who was kind enough to print it for me. When I returned she found 3 errors on the application, she said correct the errors, print it out before you return again. This was later afternoon on Christmas Eve. I wished her a merry Christmas and she replied "I'm just doing my job ". To me it sounded like "I was just following orders ". How would this have played out if I had not prepared? To be fair; this was only one person who seemed to be on a power trip and everyone else was courteous and helpful. Going elsewhere next time.
