Ashley and the ladies here were fantastic when I had to ship some boxes back home to LA from my old storage unit. I was feeling stressed out after cleaning my storage unit all afternoon but they were so kind and helped me unpack my boxes into less shipments. Also, they didn't make me feel rushed even when they had a line of people. They helped me condense my shipments and made sure that I had enough air pack bubbles so that my glassware wouldn't break during transit. The UPS store staff here is very courteous, friendly and professional, especially Ashley. Thank you so much for your kindness and patience!!! I'll never forget it. Came to pick up a delivery today, was told by the (male) employee there, that Deliveries here will not be available until the following working day. I pay $240.00 for a box here and guess what? I WILL pick up my packages and deliveries on the DAY of delivery. After I insisted, he gave me the package, telling me it was a one-time exception, acting like he was doing me some kind of Favor for DOING HIS JOB. Reminded me not to come in until a day after delivery from now on. Been a box owner here for years, no employee here (or any other UPS outlet) has ever tried to pull this The UPS store has claimed that it was a temporary policy, due to time of year, etc. I've been paying over $240 for my box for several years, nobody at this branch has ever said that before. So let me get this straight ... It takes UPS Two Days to ship my package from Maine to Seattle ... and TWO DAYS for the branch store to give it up? Wrong answer, there is no excuse for this. Further: After going up the chain of command at UPS, was told at every level, that this was unacceptable, that if this ever happened again to (1) demand the package, don't leave without it and (2) contact UPS. read more

What a rip off, everytime I come to this store it's one problem after another but this is the last straw. First time this month was I wanted to send a package to Canada from Tacoma, they wanted to charge me 170$, I asked for ground and the person said he couldn't provide that option, that's funny because I could do it via their website for a fraction of that. Then today dropping off some packages that were prepaid returns to amazon, and because I needed to tape the box closed they charged me 1.99+tax for one strip of tape, like wtf it's one line of tape. Went here to send a few birthday gifts to my sister in another state. I was not as prepared as I should have been but Ashley had such amazing patience and customer service the entire transaction. I came to this location to return an Amazon package on its original box. The (male) clerk said he will charge me $50 for a box. It told him why do I need to be change for the box when it's already on its own box. So I said never mind I will Redbox it on my own. Come to think of it, I was told by the USPS office I can return it in its original box but to make sure I take off remaining bar code. So I did the next day I went to this location the same clerk (male) was on the counter and he scanned my code on my phone and never mentioned about the box, but he saw that I scratched and blackened out the code and accepted it. I understand that they want to get pay but this male clerk from India thinks that he can charge everyone to get profits and extra money is easy. We all work hard for our money. We were customers of the UPS Store in Tacoma for 15 years. The new owner doesn't seem to understand the business. They are unfriendly even to regular customers and their service is terrible. The lines at the counter are very long due to employees who lack proper training. They have poor communication with no follow up when you send them an email. The final straw, was when they tried to charge us for a phantom bill that they said happened 12 years ago! We canceled our mailbox and moved to a local competitor. read more

The last time I sent a package thru UPS I went to Fife - it's been a while. When I went to the address listed on the internet the place had been closed for several years. So I googled a place in Tacoma on 38th Street and went there. The service was very fast. Was in and out in a minute. The lady that helped me was very courteous and helpful. Will do all of my UPS shipping there from now on. I wish I had gotten your name but the service was so fast that I didn't have time to look to see if you had a name badge on. UPDATE AGAIN: They finally fixed the notifications! Hooray! Now, just get that after-hours cage installed and we'll be on a five-star review. UPDATE: Up one star for some above-and-beyond employees. They're trying really hard to overcome the franchise owner's negligence on basic stuff like notifications. They haven't thrown the owner under the bus but it's pretty clear that they're aware this is an issue and are kind of tired of hearing about it. Owner: Get with it, your employees are outshining you, big time. I'm very conflicted about this UPS store. First of all, I love having a mailbox at a UPS store. They can sign for my packages, I know my packages are dry and safe inside - rather than getting soggy on the front stoop or stolen by neighbors or their visitors, everyone can ship here like they can't to a PO Box. The address reads like an apartment, so I can put it on things like business cards or resumes or give it to people online to buy things and not worry about my home address being out there. All really awesome things to have in favor. My spouse initially had to talk me into using his mailbox when we first moved in together and four moves and new UPS stores later, I can't imagine not having one. This particular store has friendly employees that remember who we are. They have a small lego table for your little ones if you're stuck in line waiting for packages behind someone who wants to mail something, needs help with the copier, or needs notary services. However, this store has an ongoing problem with a few of the perks that really make having an off-site mailbox easier. Every other UPS store I've used has been able to text or email me notifications when I receive a package. This store claims to have the ability, but in the four months I've been using this location they have had "router problems" and can't send out notifications for packages. This location also doesn't have the counter-cage that every other store does so that they can allow after-hours access to the mailboxes. This adds up to me needing to be able to make it to the store when they are are open on a regular basis to check and see if I have a package or mail. If they could get the notification issue fixed, I'd be much happier - I keep asking the employees but they keep telling me that the owner/manager is "working on it." Hey - UPS Store! Get that notification thing worked out so I can bump this up to five stars and stop driving over mid-week for nothing, okay? read more

I get that everyone has bad days sometimes, but I could not leave the parking lot without letting everyone know how completely rude the associate at this store was. I came in with a baby on my hip, she watched me one handedly fumble through trying to put my item into two different boxes/envelopes and all she could do was say "that's not going to fit" with an eye roll. I thought all UPS stores had the same prices, but this one has excellent scanning abilities without charging outrageous prices. I had the same job performed at two different UPS stores; scan 2 multi-page documents and email them as PDFs. The store on 72nd St. charges $2.50 for the first page but $1.00 for each page after that. The total bill was $37 for 30+ pages! Outrageous! They also used a cheaper, desktop office copier that's intended for a small business. It's very slow. Compare that to this store at 2302 S. 38th St., where they use a professional floor model copier that scans very quickly, produces ultra-sharp and legible results and costs a fraction of the other amount. They do charge $4.00 for the first page, but only $.10 per page after that. The same job costs less than $9.00 for the same 30+ page document! I've provided two photos, one with the receipts side by side and a comparison of the exact same page image quality. I consider the $1.00 version from 1625 E 72nd to be unusable. How embarrassing! [1982 called and they want their fax machine back!] The original page was a little soft and rough, but the $.10 version from this store at 2302 S 38th St retains everything. (I keep repeating the addresses to clarify that all UPS Stores are not the same.). If you have something important to copy or print, pay less and get better quality by coming here. read more

I came in 5/7 mins til closing and had my printed label from online ups, for my package and the lady at the counter said that it was a wrong label and that she couldn't help me print it out and that I had to call customer service number. So she sent on way and said to come back tomorrow and call customer service. This establishment is a joke! Their employees are on drugs and miss type addresses because they are too loaded to keep their eyes open (Skye). I paid $5 to ship a shirt back and when it got returned to sender I went back in and was told unfortunately their system was down and they couldn't do anything. So I returned a few days later and then was told that since I signed the paper saying address was correct there was nothing they would do about it. Skye copied address off of package and covered original address with her new address sticker. I was unable to see original shipping address. And therefore it's my fault that they typed the incorrect address. I will take my business else where! read more

Last week I needed to ship the most important article of clothing I have ever owned, my wedding dress. I was scared to death to ship my wedding dress but I bought it in Seattle and needed it shipped to Florida. The employee that helped me was incredibly kind, personable and professional. He offered me multiple shipping methods and helped me decide on the right size box and shipping material. This may not seem like a big deal but when you are shipping a never worn, very expensive gown, you want the best of the best shipping. Today I got my package and it was packaged perfectly and he even put it in an extra plastic bag. I can't say thank you enough to them for getting my wedding dress to me safe and sound. Worst experiences ever. Firstly, my international package was delivered late. It was a very important document. The branch offered to give a refund. I was told that it would take 5 to 10 business days to receive a check from them. The package was shipped on January 16th. I called the office a month later that told them I didn't receive any check. The branch manager said the people in charge for claiming refund was off and will call me on that Thursday when he comes back to work. Now it's end of March. I haven't heard anything from this office. Never use UPS services again. No matter international or domestic shipping. read more

This is the kind of review I love to give. I went in to drop off a return to the UPS Store for an Amazon.com purchase using the return label I printed off. I asked the young lady there (I think it was Liz) to give me the container thinking it would be a free UPS box. Nope....it wasn't and yes I was grumbley but after she very patiently explained UPS doesn't have a box for ground that's free, i just couldn't calm down and she was so polite during the rant. So I paid to have all 3 pants put in one box that I had to pay for. When I got home amazon credited my amazon account for the 1 pair of pants that the label UPS (Liz) scanned for the box. I should have not been so grumbley and cheap (UPS said it was gonna be free) and put each pair of pants in its own box with each of it's own label and I would have gotten all 3 pair credited immediately. Moral of the story.......stop,breathe, calmly do what should do. Not every experience has to be a bad one. Thank you Liz and that UPS Store for not kicking me out but instead treating with respect and kindness something this world needs more of. read more

I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS STORE AT ALL. I have already had other problems with this store but today takes the cake. I brought in an item to be sent, a couple feet long, by a few inches wide... Not big, doesn't even weigh hardly anything. I asked for it to be boxed and sent... $30!!!!!!!!! $16 for a box and the rest for me to put my item in the box!!!!!!!! This isn't even counting the shipping! I don't even get a discount or anything for being a mailbox customer? Seriously, this is highway robbery, how else have they been ripping me off? I've used this location on two occasions. Each was equally awful! None of the employees seem to have any idea what's going on. The first occasion I went in with a note from my doorman saying I had a package at that location. They scanned the note and said it was in their store. After waiting about 10 minutes for them to look for it I was told that my package wasn't there and maybe still on a truck, and to come back Monday. The second occasion I had another one of those notes, brought it down and they said they "had no idea" where my package was. They said maybe it was in fife at the hub. So I drove all the way to fife and was told my package was "refused and returned to seller"! Ridiculous!!! read more

I had a very important package that needed to be sent to NJ by the end of the day Friday. I came in on Wednesday afternoon to the store and explained this to them and they assured me it would be delivered on time. It even said on my receipt delivery by EOD Friday. Unknown to me they decided to send it US priority mail and the tracking number says estimated delivery to be Saturday. I called and they were not helpful or even apologetic. She even said it might come Tuesday because of a Holliday on Monday and they can't guarantee USPS mail. I explained I specifically said I needed it to be delivered by EOD Friday and didn't want USPS. She at least admitted there was a mistake but offered no solution and I asked for a refund and the request was not entertained. Nothing against UPS as a company and I'll still use them but will never go to this store again because they don't know what they're doing and clearly don't listen to the customers shipping needs. read more

The owner even went on vacation before he resolved my issue. be very careful when conducting business here. check and verify everything. Get everything documented and save all receipts.
