Save yourself some grief and don't ship any FedX packages from here. I came in with a pre-packaged package. A gut intercepted me at the door and said that "we don't accept FedX packages depending on their size". I explained that when I went to the FedX website, it said that I could drop off a package, any package, for FedX. He said that unless they initiated the shipping, they could not ship from there. I again explained that the FedX website said that I could drop off any FedX package there and it would be picked up by FedX. He finally relented and then I got to experience, one of the rudest check-out cashiers I've ever encountered when I went to purchase a mailing tube (for $19.95 no less). A few days later, I got a massage from FedX saying that they had re-scanned the package and had charged me another $20 for the package. So I guess they were happy that they finally added a surcharge to my package, but in the end they lose because I will never step foot in another Office Depot for the rest of my natural lifetime. They can keep their $20 mailing tubes and surly employees. read more

I've made my way here a couple times before for smaller purchases. I've yet to experience the copy center although I see mixed reviews on it. My most recent visit, I came to purchase a new desk and chair for my home office. I didn't need anything large or glamorous, just something basic. I was looking around, and a young gentleman asked if I needed any help. I told him that I would give a shout when I was ready. I wish I remembered his name or kept the receipt with his name on it, but he was such a gentleman, very knowledgeable, and quite strong because he lifted these boxes effortlessly. We talked about office chairs and printers, then he rang me up and helped me put the big boxes in my little sedan. Thank goodness it fit! Check out was easy, and I even signed up for their rewards program, which came in handy, because the amount I received will go towards a new printer. The store is spacious and clean, and the customer service was above and beyond. read more

Yes, they are short on staff and you may have to wait longer, but the print/copy staff is amazing and capable and patient and very helpful. I have done many jobs with them over the past 2 years and have been very satisfied. They go out of their way to help you. The line does get long - but it's not their fault. read more

I just had a great experience with 3 different employees here. I don't shop here often, but was greeted as soon as I walked in and asked if they could help. Told them what I needed and I was handed over to Keaton. He walked me to what I needed and stood patiently by while I asked inane questions about file folders and didn't make me feel stupid. Not to mention, he had a badass ponytail. Went to pay and Micheal checked me out. I hadn't looked for any sales before I arrived and asked if there were any coupons that may work for my purchase. I was about to spend 30 before tax and he saved me 10 off 20!!!! Manager Cesar came to do price override and no questions asked. The copy center is horribly under-staffed. There is always a line and online orders take even longer despite their "one-hour" pledge which is meaningless. I was just told my guaranteed "one-hour" online order will "probably" take the rest of the day today and part of tomorrow morning. I had such a BAD experience for the 4th time at this Tacoma Office Depot that I literally just opened a yelp account to yelp the shit out of this store. My company spends thousands of dollars a year at this store but NO MORE. 4th time in a few months that I have waited so long (1.75 hrs today) just to be cut in front of and forgotten. I JUST NEEDED 40 PAGES PRINTED and when they finally printed my copies after 1 hr 45 mins LATER it was on the wrong paper. This place seems seriously understaffed. Maybe they were just in the middle of a rush but that does not excuse them entirely. I needed to go to the copy center to fax out some documents. It took a very long time to get waited on. The girl behind the counter was doing her best but had a whole disconnected attitude about being there from what I gathered. The line was not much of a line and people were scattered along the copy center counter doing various tasks. Not a well planned layout. She finally faxed out my documents and I waited a bit longer. She started ringing up another person's merchandise and gave me the fax verification form and told me to go up front to be rung up since it will be faster. Well there was a line there as well but not as sluggish. Right when I went in line an additional staff member opened another lane. I gave her the fax verification form and she did not know how to ring it up. She went to another cashier and asked about it and they decided to just charge me the cost of making three pages of photo copies. The sluggish flow and confusion I place on the management. The people on the sales floor needed more help and I suppose more training. The staff I felt were doing the best they could with the tools available to them. Overpriced. I went in for envelopes, markers, sharpies and whiteouts. I walked out with just the sharpies and over to Target where I found even then I'd overpaid. Everything was cheaper at Target where the prices are even better than Amazon (Bic whiteouts) and Dollar Tree (sharpies). So I used to come here a few years ago and while the store itself wasn't so great the location was fine. The past few times I've come here I've experienced horrible customer service. Today topped it off. I came here to get something bound, and KRISTEN was completely rude. I called before I came to see if they had the product and she said yes, when I get to the store she all of a sudden doesn't have it. From the moment I walked in she acted as if she didn't want to assist me as a customer. She rolled her eyes the entire time she "helped" me. I'm very technical and I knew what I wanted in a printer. Rusty spent a significant amount of dedicated and attentive time with me reviewing options across two different brands - replacing ink so we could print on both, setting me up to print to the printer from my phone, to ensure branded colors are accurate and more. Outstanding service! Bought a six-pack of ink for my printer. When I got home, I discovered that the cartridges in the box were all used! Someone has substituted used for new. So I hopped in my truck and hot-footed it back to Office Depot, and got not one bit of grief about bringing in a box of spent ink cartridges and asking for a replacement. I told my story, the nice lady didn't even blink, she just handed me a new box AND she gave me a rebate for using a coupon that I didn't have. So, loss of one star because I had to make two trips, but a very enthusiastic four stars for the great service. read more

I just wanna say that the team at the the printing section has giving me one of the customer service experience ever. I have only used Office Depot twice for printing photos and cards. Both times, because either I didn't like the texture of the business cards or had a budget issue or a color problem came up when I received the finished product, the team was cooperative, understanding and reprinted to meet what was needed. We had the BEST service ever from Jerel (I hope I spelled that right) yesterday. He was super knowledgeable and helpful. We went in for a simple, inexpensive flash drive for my daughter's school project and all we saw were high capacity and VERY pricey ones available. Jerel noticed we were not finding what we wanted and offered to help. He found us the best possible deal through a price match. He was helpful, informative, and made sure that we left with what we needed even when we didn't see it on the shelves. He's awesome and we will be back! If I could rate negative stars I would! The overall service wasn't terrible, but the quality of the product I ordered was horrendous. I had some prints enlarged for my grandma's funeral and had to go back 3 times to get them fixed. The manager ended up refunding all my money, it was so bad. Then she offered to do some laminations for no charge to make up for the poor quality and they ended up being just as bad. All were lopsided and cut terribly. I bought one of their "refurbished" ink cartridges for my printer. It doesn't work. My printer says the cartridge is empty when it's not and won't print. Since I don't have my receipt, I just wasted a bunch of money and can't print. A google search shows page upon page showing that you can't use refilled or refurbished cartridges in Canon printers. Why do the sell these things, when it's well known that they don't work? read more

So if you want to make copies and wish to be treated like you are bothering them, talked to rudely or be charged whatever price the cashier would like to charge for printing, this is your place. I frequent here because it is convenient to my work, but I am tired of being treated so crappy. The cashier and sales staff on the floor are amazing, but the copy shop seems that it does not need to follow good customer service like everyone else. Once I commented how busy they were and the staff member bragged how they are one of the busiest stores in their region. Probably because people like me who are gluttons for punishment keep going back and being treated like crap. Where is there a better place to make copies, especially nice color and oversize??? read more

order( 3) 2017 calendars from store (2515) in Federal Way, Wa for $14.99 ea. Billed me $77 scanning charge& $19.99 typesetting charge. Total $177 with tax. been getting calendars from same store since 1998. Have never had scanning & typesetting charges before. Manager told me sales people have charge me wrong all the previous years. Took off scanning charge but not typesetting charge. Didn't even put the holidays in the calendar months. I have never had problems with this store in the past but the way this was handled, I don't think I'll be doing any more business there read more
