Had a medical package that they tried to make me pay $5 to pick up when it was set to be delivered there originally. Don't trust ANYTHING they say it is a franchise. The owner even had the gall to come outside and try to yell at me afterwards because I guess they had their poor ego bruised. Pathetic. I use to bring all my work shipments to this store and I made sure my company closed their account after the disgraceful response today. Thank you so very much. In reference to the response of my review for 2/17. I was not explained to me that ground shipping does not guarantee an overnight delivery contrary to what your staff told you. Also, I did not provide a wrong address on the package that wasn't delivered - UPS attempted delivery to the wrong address. I was charged additional shipping on the returned package - would you like to see the charge???? The review submitted on 2/17 was the latest in a long line of incidents of poor customer service provided by UPS. You have the "name", you can take ownership of the "blame". Whether its your store or UPS in general - your customer service is poor and general shipping policies are not customer friendly. read more

I'm sick of companies collecting unnecessary personal information. There's absolutely no reason for them to collect my phone number. Edit: For anyone wondering about a non-intrusive option, the US Post Office does not have the same collection policies. Note, the Post Office does manage to ship a lot of packages and only collect minimal information. In response to the owner, a consumer should have the option to remain as anonymous as they choose to be. In light of the weekly headlines about data breaches with each company assuring their customers that data is well guarded, your promise to safeguard my information is hollow. The best protection for everyone is to only give as little away as possible. read more

Worst service ever. Beau is a real piece of work. I don't know if he deliberately tries to piss people off or if that's just his natural gift. If you are planning to ship internationally from The UPS Store in Smyrna, TN, make sure you know exactly what to do and have all of your shipping documents with you and filled out when you get there. Because they have no clue!! I was sending an "unsolicited gift" (a birthday present), to Canada. I told them this multiple times over the course of the three visits I made. I was sending artwork I had done in a custom wooden frame I had made. The first visit, I was told that I couldn't send any wood products to Canada, PERIOD! It wouldn't go through so don't even try!! So I went home and did more research. The wood they don't accept is any wood that isn't treated. Basically, anything with bark that could contain parasites. So I go back, and although using the same to and from addresses, the price doubles. So I go home and do even more research. I go back with a non- P.O. Box and this time out was only $15 more than the original amount. Finally, it's sent! Yay!! But then, I get an email from UPS/Customs and it's a charge almost equal to the final shipping price. Unsolicited Gift was not on the label in the package. So it ended up costing me 2X what it should have AND three trips to the store. Oh, and the smartass associate that WASN'T attending to me on my third visit, who made it a point to tell me, "Well, you won't get your money back." I think I'm going to the Murfreesboro store next time. read more

This store only handles packing and shipping and not customer service. I sent a letter intended for overnight and it did not get there overnight and the store told me to contact the 800 number for claims. I sent a package that was delivered to the wrong address and when the package was returned, UPS charged me (the sender) for the return. Both incidents required my time and effort to get refunded. UPS has an overall rating of 1.24 stars and its partly because of their customer service or lack of, including the service at this store. I won't be using UPS anymore. I will pay a little extra for USPS. read more

To be honest, when we first moved the area years ago we did not enjoy our interactions at this UPS store. HOWEVER, over the last few years there's been a complete turnaround and the place is now FANTASTIC. Every time we're in now the employees are polite, quick, and efficient. I definitely recommend this over any other shipping storefronts in the area, hands down. read more

There is a reason this store has a 2.9 rating at the time I am posting this. I have probably had the worst retail experience of my life at this store. Jessica, the manager was incredibly rude and hateful to me as I spent 40 minutes trying to sign up for a mailbox. The store misrepresented the price over the phone, but even with all of my patience, the store's manager, Jessica, went nuts on me. I told her there was no need for her to speak to me like that. she just continued to be disrespectful and hateful. As I went to get a business card and write her name, she snapped at me telling me her name very confidently as if she knew she would never get in trouble or have any consequence for how she treated the customers. I get the feeling she has been through this before without consequences. I tried calling the owners but there was no answer. They own multiple stores, including the store in Hendersonville and the store in Antioch. None of the stores would tell me where I could reach the owners. And when I asked if I could get a phone number, they told me I would just have to send an email. This email would just go directly to the store manager as it is a direct email, so the owners would probably not get it. I did speak with a helpful and concerned manager at their Hendersonville store. She told me she would try to reach the owners right away and I told her the specifics of the situation in detail. however it has been two hours, and the owners have never called back. This a big inconvenience because the only places to get mailbox near where I live are the UPS stores. And unfortunately, all of them are owned by the same owners Chris and Valerie Hulshof. I am also going to file a formal complaint with UPS corporate. Unfortunately I'm going to have to drive 20 minutes to go to another place that offers mail boxes, since all the UPS stores are owned by these terrible franchise owners. Beware, stay away! Just to be clear, the problem was not in the price difference I was given over the phone versus the price in the store. Mistakes happen. The problem is the demeaning horrific way I was treated by the store's manager in Smyrna, especially after being in the store so long because of the incompetence of the staff being unable to set up my mailbox. Tonight my 4-year-old son and I went into The UPS store to ship giftcards to a family member working in the relief shelters in Gatlinburg for victims of the wildfires. Many of them are still wearing the same clothes they had on when they fled from the fire Monday. We walked into the store, they asked what we needed and they refused to help us mail the gift cards, even after I explained what they were for. I asked why not, and the extremely young, lip-glossed, employee behind the counter chirped, "We're not supposed to. We just can't." Then her coworker rolled her eyes at us. I looked at my son and I said, "We have to go find someone else to help us." We walked out the door, crossed the parking lot to the FedEx at Copy, Pack and Mail and asked them, "Can you help us mail gift cards?" And they said, "Why couldn't we?" I said, "I have no idea but UPS refused." And they did, with great care and concern for the people we were trying to help. On the way out, my son said, "Did he help us, Mommy?" I said, "Yes, baby, he helped us." My son looked and the nice man behind the counter and said, "Thank you for helping us, sir." The man smiled back and said he'd be praying for everyone involved. If I can help it at all, I'll never use UPS again. Even if there's some company policy against shipping gift cards, there's no excuse for callous, dismissive, immature behavior from the counter. And the Copy, Pack and Mail just won my business for a lifetime. 10 families will have clean socks and clothes because they cared enough to stick a label on an envelope and expedite it across the state. This store is AWFUL!! I will NEVER go there again. I shipped an item from this store and paid for extra insurance. The package was damaged. I filed a claim and did not hear back from them for 2 months. Because of this the packaging and such had been thrown away (my bad). When they did reach out they said they would get back to me in 2 days. Never called me again. Claim was denied and clerk was less than helpful and rude through the whole process. read more

When I walked into the store I was immediately greeted by Valerie Hulshof asking what assistance I needed. I explained about packaging my cell phone to returned and Valerie acknowledged my concerns and immediately knew what to do. Valerie packaged my phone, asked if I wanted more bubble wrap and quickly packaged things for me. She was very friendly and professional and made me feel welcomed and understood. I recently visited the store with a relative who needed to have a document notarized and witnessed. The staff was friendly and efficient, and was even able to provide witnesses for the signing of the document, which was extremely convenient. I had emailed the store prior to visiting in order to obtain details about their notary services and received a prompt and informative reply, which I much appreciated. Overall, it was as positive an experience as I could have expected. I'll definitely be using their services again when needed.
