I had looked at many in various locations and decided to make the purchase at Staples at Chapel View because of the nice education I received from Shaun. On the day of my execution of the purchase I met Steve who also was educating. I was also transferring data from my old machine at Staples as well as the installation of various programs. This takes a day to do. When I arrived to claim my new machine, Steve took me through all aspects of its operation and spent the time linking my printer and installing new printer ink among various other details and connections. Steve went above any typical customer service especially making sure I was as familiar as possible with the operation of the new machine and I really appreciate that kind of effort. So if you need tech service, I will very much recommend Steve or Shaun for your service.

Every time I go in I make sure it's for a prepaid shipment - because god forbid I have to ask for help in here - and EVEN THEN it's like they're getting heartburn for doing their job! But when I have needed window service, I have had polite and friendly help. Shoutout to Red!! Clerks have gone above and beyond for me, like when I've forgotten to cover something on a box which might affect delivery. Give respect, get it. I've learned, through talking to these folks, that sometimes there are circumstances beyond their control. People complaining don't seem to get that they have rules they need to follow. They care about their jobs, and they know what they should be doing and how to do it. Town Hall is across the street and despite a sign politely requesting only Post Office customers to use their lot, Town Hall customers park there, so it's not always as crowded as it might look. Lines can be long, yes. Many times there is only one clerk available, and since they do passports here, which take a LOT of time... well. There are also a lot of folks who require help with their packages. A lot of elderly folks and people who don't do it often enough to know how things work. If all you have is a dropoff, you're good. Please give the clerks a break, sometimes it really does take a while to give folks the service they need. I have seen people come into this place literally 2 minutes before closing, with a package that's STILL OPEN, and not even addressed. You think they're going to be happy about that!? Of course not. But they still spend a good 10-15 minutes helping anyway, advising folks of their options, taping up, etc. Sometimes scans take a while and there have been times when I checked tracking for my packages and didn't see a scan there for a few hours, but jeez, if you buy your labels online then you have a record, so no sweat. If there is a long line, and you really must have a scan of half a zillion packages and receipt printout and will snarl if you don't get it... I'd suggest going instead to the "basics" branch in the Four Seasons gas station at the intersection of Pawtucket & Waterman a mile or two away. Usually no line there.

Love this Providence USPS hub location! Its extended hours (lobby with clerks open to 9 pm on…read moreweekdays, unheard of!) are so convenient and helpful when I have something that must go out that day, but I've missed the cutoff at my local location. Lines can be long, but the self service kiosk can help me most times. Sometimes people jam the package bins, though, which somehow goes unnoticed by staff, and means you have to get in the sometimes long lines anyways. There are a wide range of extra services offered here, and tons of a wider variety of the free priority packaging options than most other locations have. There's a large parking lot, but people whip through it, so be careful! This location and its convenient extended hours are such an asset for local small business owners and residents alike.

Usually a lot of foot traffic in this area so be aware while driving. Inside is adequate. Some employees are great, others not too great. Sometimes they have their priority mail supplies stocked, sometimes not. But they seem to know their regulars which is nice. I'll probably be a regular there too eventually since I've only been living here a short time! I'd probably like it better if they said "Hey Shanon, how are you today??" when I walk in! Life's goals :)

They're also all about the holidays, always with the decorations, and it seems like it could be the candyman that does the decorations, maybe even with his own money cause he's so into it (and not everyone there is thrilled about the talking skeletons or the ho ho hoing santas). That guy really cheers up my day I tell you, I always feel good leaving the post office, as weird as that might sound. Also, they're open to 5:30 AND I got my passport through here and it only took 7 days after they told me the wait was 6 weeks. Coincidence? I think it's their good karma. I heart the Bristol post office :)

About a year ago I submitted a 3 week hold mail request. The mail was redelivered a week early-…read moreleft on my porch with the hold mail slip with the correct resume mail date right on the top of the pile. Luckily, a neighbor noticed the pile and retrieved it before it got soaked. I recently had my mail held for two weeks. When service had resumed but I had only received 4 pieces of mail I went to the post office to pick up the rest. The female clerk on the desk on 2/27 handed me a loose pile of mail. When I started to go through it I realized that I had at least 25 pieces of mail belonging to 3 different Portsmouth residents who lived at different addresses- credit card and bank statements, letters from health insurers, etc. In the middle of this pile I found a hold mail slip for one of these residents who was not due to return for another 2 weeks! If my two experiences with this post office are an example of how their operations are being run, it appears that some significant changes need to be made.

Everyone here is great and consistently pleasant, even when things are out of their control (because... government). Dealing with the public all day is not easy, but this team handles it with grace and a positive attitude. Thank you for being such an awesome place in town for those of us who actually enjoy going inside and interacting with real humans, even for the small stuff. It really does make a difference!

I (happily) use the Bryant University Post Office daily that closes at 4:30pm. When I can't make it there, I have to visit this location, and I always dread it. She is so mean. Very upsetting
