I haven't had my fingerprints taken in years and the last time, I think I went to the sheriff's office in Marin County and had to return because my prints weren't clear enough. They offer walk-in LiveScan services and the small storefront on the east side of 4th Street was quiet when I dropped by this afternoon. The two employees were chatting pleasantly and greeted me right away when I entered. Rachel spotted the forms in my hand and guessed correctly that I was there to have my fingerprints taken. Sure enough, like I've experienced before, the first try was unsuccessful. I don't have pronounced ridges on my fingers apparently, but they had a gel that she asked me to rub on my hands and the 30 seconds later we were good to go. Second time was the charm! I'm happy to report that my school covered the costs, so I wasn't privy to the charges, but I was in and out in under 10 minutes. I also checked and found that they offer private mailbox services and can ship via UPS, FedEx and DHL, so the next time that I'm on that side of town, I'll definitely remember them!

The paper I was given said they were available Monday through Friday and to call for Saturday. I called late Friday as soon as I was given the paper and no one answered. I checked online hoping to find more information and their website did not work. I arrived Saturday morning when they opened so that I could make it back to school to complete the paperwork an hour later. When I arrived there were no other customers. I politely explained my situation. The clerk said that the program was not available on Saturdays and there was nothing they could do for me. I left feeling so sad that I had spent the last two months working hard in my class to not be able to take the state exams because my fingerprints were harder to take. I called another location and explained my situation and they said that they would make an exception for me and to come in. Thankfully the other location was kind and compassionate which allowed me to complete my paperwork for graduation and sign up for the state exams. I do not recommend this location. I do not think that they care to help others which is bad customer service.

All qualities I was in need of. She rushed my order, did an amazing job blowing up a smaller pixel photo to a large format using computer techniques. A real pro, she was able to tell me what sizes would work according to what we have and what photoshopping can do. We decided on something , I ran to get a frame, and she put the whole thing together, charging hardly anything for all the things-- rush job, putting the finished product into the matting and frame, etc. I also met her partner (I assume), another woman, and Jennifer told me, "We are a small business, it's just she and me."
