I live in Austin. I bought a discontinued Blu Dot table to use as a desk. From Craigslist. In Minneapolis. This UPS Store helped me ship the table from Minneapolis to Austin.
When I first called to ask about their furniture shipping services, a guy named Chauncey was super helpful and gave me hope that the shipment could happen. They sent a quote and I was desperate to get the table, so I sent the documents to start the shipment.
We scheduled them to pick up the table from the saintly Minneapolis Craigslist seller. They didn't confirm until the morning of the appointment, but they arrived when they said they would.
The only sad thing was that they decided to move the table from the seller's home before disassembling it, even though I was under the impression they would disassemble and protect it before moving it. They nicked the corner as they were moving it. While I was disappointed about the nick, they did take immediate responsibility for the damage and promised to pay for the repair.
After the initial nick, they did a great job packaging the table for shipment. The actual shipping expenses ended up being less than the estimate, which was a relief. The shipment was delayed a couple of days due to the polar vortex, but once it shipped, it only took three days for the table to arrive.
Their email auto-reply says that the store gets busy, and it must. I had to follow up a couple of times throughout the process, but they did come through. I'll be forever grateful to this UPS store who helped my Blu Dot desk dream come true. read more
