Dropped off a package on Saturday and wasn't given a receipt which is fine. However, it has been 3 days since and there has not been any updates on the tracking number -- not even the arrival scan for dropping it off at the location. This is my first time going to this location and last. I spoke with some Indian guy on the phone and asked him and all he said "I scanned the packages there's nothing I can do" then hung up. I'm surprise this store is still in business after all the horrid reviews and the unaccounted reports. I would give this place zero stars if I could. The owner (Indian man) and clerk (Kevin) are by far the most rude and unethical customer service people I've encountered. In summary, they deceive people into overpaying rates and prices and contradict their contracts when one attempt to change or cancel a service. The Indian man will try to con customers into paying for extra chargers that are not required and Kevin has no etiquette and mirrors his boss's attitude and lack of morality. Need a 0 stars for this store as the rest of the folks here! A complete bait and switch shop!! Also online price quotes and the price quotes this guys gives are way out of sync. Wouldnt give the expected price of the package till he packed my items in even after asking 10 times. And then quoted me such a ridiculously high price that I walked out! Also told false stories about USPS charging higher than what he was quoting me. and pathetic service to top this all of. he doesnt care. It's too bad I read the reviews after I had the bad experience at this store. I went in to send 2 heavy packages (90lbs total), the online cost was about $60 but they charged me $99 to send them. I thought that all UPS stores are equal and have the same price and thought I might have made a mistake online. But this place really is RIPPING-OFF customers and make dishonest bucks whenever they can. Given the heavy weight and the hassle of going somewhere else, I ended up shipping my items there. The owner of this place is horrible. He treats his employees like crap and you can tell they can't stand being around him. Here's what happened to me. I brought in a package which needed to go in a larger box. The employee places the box on the weigh scale and runs the numbers through the computer. I ask him how much it's going to cost and he tells $43 which I agree to. Once he creates the packaging sticker it totals out to $52. At that point I declined because I thought they gave me a total initially..the owner wigs out on me saying that I agreed to the charges and need to complete the transaction. I told him it's an honest mistake and didn't know he didn't include the box when he told me 43 so I'm not going to pay that much. He then accuses me of taking advantage of him??? Really, what benefit did I get out if this to say I'm taking advantage. He then turns his attention to the employee that started the transaction and scolds him. Of course I intervened but what a jerk. He ignores people too. Don't give this man your business. read more

I wish I read all the review before I made my trip to the store. It was such a nightmare.... I walked in the store today with a pre paid shipment which need to go back to this company since they shipped the wrong item. I asked for a receipt what I was mainly there for obtaining confirmation. On the review, I see people mentioned about the african american guy. He is a total trash. That's all I can say. I only wondered why I didn't get a receipt and he stared talking like a man never been educated. He asked me to take my package back. Asked me to deliver my package on my own. What did I say? I only wondered why I don't get a receipt. He said he's the manager and the store owner. (I thought I should let the owner know what their employes do. So I asked him if I could talk to the manager...) He didn't seem like knowing what customer service means. I'm more than 90% sure he is not...(He can't be a manger...) I tried to understand he must had a rough day, but after checking yelp.com I highly doubt!!! Anyway, I asked him to be nice and walked out leaving my package at the store. He yelled at me at the back "your shipment is not going out!!! Take it back!!" I walked out of the store and started to call UPS. If I don't get my credit back since he doesn't sent out my package, I'll claim it. And UPS should eat up the cost. UPS stores are not like that all the time.My experience in other location was great. I got a horrible experience today with the same African American Guy. I had simply asked him how long it will take for my prepaid package to India and then the whole drama started. I told him that I was told it will reach on Monday and he said it will take until Wednesday! I mean I paid $78 for my package to reach later than it would if I would paid $58 by USPS. Then this African Americanguy tells me so rudely, " so are you done with dropping off your package, then you are done". He was very very rude and then it went off to where he was totally ignoring me and complaining about me to other customers. Telling he how I was giving him a headache and that I should just leave. At one point, I told him that I just want my package back and a refund and then he just kept yelling at me at how I am spoiling his day and his holidays. Then when I asked him to give me the supervisor's name, he wouldn't do that either. I left the store in tears...I am NEVER going back to this location. read more

WOW!!! I can't believe the rudeness and unprofessional character of this store. Fist, F*** Mike, the fat black guy that sits in the back of the store and was just the worst customer service clerk ever. Anyways, I come in, I usually go to Staples but thought this would be just in and out, I come in to ship my package. I put my package down, Mike does the process and at the end I ask for a receipt. Then the fireworks begin, he says no, "once the item is scan I can go online and track my package there." Well, as you know packages get misplaced, stolen, and lost in the mix all the time. If that happens, what recourse does a customer have??? The RECEIPT!!! Cause it has all the info you need on there, shocker? Well so Mike says no, and that he's not going to argue about printing a receipt. Well i wasnt arguing, and goes on about having too much work for printing receipts for all the packages that go through the "UPS store." I again say i need a receipt and dumb mike response that hes not going to argue and I can take my package if I dont want to ship it through them. Well that was a no brainier, of course I'm not going to use the service here and took my package elsewhere. On a side note, I would advise NO ONE to drop their stuff off here, why? Well they have all the other packages conveniently in the lobby (not behind the counter). It wasnt like the door was wide open, IT WAS. It's not like there were a ton of packages just sitting there, they were. It's not like the clerk was behind the counter near the backroom, sitting down; he was. So how easy would it have been just to grab someone's package and run for it, ummmm well I'm sure I can outrun a person that is sitting behind a counter in the back and husky in size...... This location is pure and simply horrible-- just completely unprofessional. The manager cares absolutely nothing about providing good customer service or resolving serious customer complaints. I sent a package on July 2nd, next day air. It was due to arrive in Oakland on the 5th because of the holiday. Guess what, it never got there!! Instead it ending up in freaking Arizona!! The manger who dealt with my order has nooo idea how it happened even though he was the one handling it. Even better it ended up at a location where it's nearly impossible for a ups guy to try and retrieve it. Awesome!! Over a month later, still no package, barely any contact from the manager who avoids returning my calls every time I try to ask for an update. The package was a gift with a high value, and I am beyond pissed to say the least. The employee guy at the front register is also terrible, shows no interest in customers, sighs and drags his feet when dealing with someone. I will not spend my money at this location nor at any other UPS location again. Get your act together people, your service stinks. read more

I called to confirm they would have notary service on site within the next 20 minutes and they said, "no problem". I drove there in 10 minutes and the notary person had mysteriously "just left". This is the worst place I have seen for customer service. I want to drop a box with prepaid label. The sales person told me that they charge $2.00 for taping each box. Someone had mentioned it here in earlier review that they charge $2.00 for just taping the label, so I had brought mine :) When I started to put the tape on the box, box was about same size as shoe box, he asked to me to leave the store and do it outside. Came in here trying to have boxes shipped back to amazon and was told I would have to pay additional even though I am using prepaid labels???? Also told I would have to buy tape and tape up the package even more. Go to any other UPS, USPS or FedEX location and they apply additional tape with prepaid packages with no extra charge.... I went to the UPS Shipping center in sunnyvale instead and their wonderful open arms customer service was more than happy to help me out. read more

I rented a mailbox and the experience was OK. The store was definitely understaffed: there was only one guy behind the counter. He needed to process the lengthy mailbox application, answer questions from the line while picking up the phone and answering people's questions and request. No wonder there were people who got frustrated and impatient when the line grew longer than 5. read more

I wish I had read these reviews before I sent a prepaid package containing a defective product back to the manufacturer. At first the person behind the counter (an East Indian man who I assume was the owner) was excited to see me walk in with a very large box and had me place it on the scale. However, his good cheer quickly faded as he saw the prepaid label and ended up mumbling that I owe him three dollars (after ignoring me for a few minutes to talk on the phone). When I challenged him on why I had to pay anything for using a prepaid label, he said it was the "standard charge" to tape the box shut (quite a bit of money for single piece of shipping tape about three feet long). He gave me the receipt *for the tape* and told me that was it. When I asked him for a receipt for the package itself, he said that the PDF at home with my shipping label *was* the receipt. I walked outside and thought about the disarray inside the shop and the $600 value of my package and went back in and insisted that get proof that I left the box in his care. Only after some additional grumbling did he scan my paper work and give me my receipt. NOTE that in the couple of minutes I was out of the shop, he had already stacked other paperwork on box and covered the prepaid label that had yet to be affixed to the container - who knows what would have happened to the box had I just gone home. Bottom line, I can't agree more with the reviews below. I'd rather stand in line at the post office or pay the reportedly higher rates at the nearby FedEx office (at least the latter is organized, friendly, and has always offered me a receipt). read more

I have been to this place couple of times before since I stay in Milpitas. My visit yesterday is going to be the last in here. I go to the store with a pre-printed label to mail my passport and other documents for renewal. The Indian guy (bearded) looks at my documents and asks when did i get my label. I had received/printed the label over a month back. The guy gives oh no kind of look and does some check on his system and tells me that the label can no longer be used since it is more than 30 days. I wasted half of my next day trying to follow up and generate a new label (a different review needed for that one) only to realize that the new label looks similar to the old one. This time i thought I will go to the UPS store on Brokaw road to get a second opinion. They gave me a puzzled look for my questions on the label and I realized no matter when a shipping label is received it can be used anytime in the future with no expiration. I was able to post my documents here without any more issues. Probably the bearded guy at Milpitas store was trying to rip me off in trying to get new shipping labels. Epilogue: I came out of the store with expletives all the way for the next 1 mile for the bearded guy. read more

I don't usually write reviews on yelp, but this one had to be mentioned. I wanted to notarize a document. I called the front desk and asked if the notary was available, and he simply said yes. When I reached there, he said, the notary was on the way and I ended up waiting for 30 minutes. Once the notary showed up, he did notarize the document (how difficult is that) and then tells me it will be $25. I said the UPS store usually charges $10. He says for 'this document', I charge $25. I was shocked but in hurry so had to pay but how would one document be different from another for a notary? This was just a one page document. Agree with all the other reviewers. Avoid this store at all cost. read more

Terrible business. I scheduled an appointment for the notary, and after 25 minutes of waiting asked why it was taking so long, the woman said that they had booked 3 people for the same appointment time as me. I asked why they would do this and she said "you can leave now....bu-bye." read more

Horrible experience. When I called to verify my contract term and reminded them I had moved, they auto-debited my checking account for a year's rental. My new service is 12 miles closer and $120 less for the same size box. I called my bank to dispute the charge and they said to try to work with the business for a refund while they investigate (up to 90 days). The owner is never there when I come in, when I call he's not available. When I leave a message, he does not return phone calls. The employee I dealt with is no longer there. I've been there twice and left four messages. When I turned in my keys the guy wouldn't check the box or sign the receipt - oh wait, not a receipt; a CANCELLATION. I said I wasn't canceling, I was not renewing. THe female clerk finally initialed and signed the form (owner's daughter, perhaps). Rude, unprofessional and sloppy. I'm filing a formal complaint to UPS. read more
