When we came to pick them up, we struck up a conversation with a really nice lady and her dog. After chatting for a while, it hit me that she had to be the owner. When it came time to pay, she refused my card. My son stood there, mouth agape, in absolute shock. When he asked how he could repay her, she said he just needs to be excellent and pay it forward (paraphrase). When we got in the car, he told me he felt like his cards were blessed, and I have to agree.
