Gathered Stems is hands-down my favorite florist in the area -- her arrangements are truly stunning, and all the thoughtful touches in packaging, like the wrapping paper and envelopes are so cute and considered and really take experience to another level. I've worked with Gathered Stems many times over years -- most recently on a celebratory arrangement (end of medical treatment) for a loved one as well as a bereavement arrangement, and she's my go-to for Mother's Day flowers as well. Everything is always perfect. I really appreciated Ashley working with all the constraints (tight timeline, coordinating delivery around their schedule) and how collaborative and kind she is helping us strike the right tones during sensitive times. UPDATE x2: I responded to the owner saying I stood by my feedback and that I felt the tone of their email was aggressive. I recieved another email apologizing, taking responsibility for the error on their end which resulted in the missing balloon, and provided me a 30% refund with no obligation on my end. UPDATE: I received a weirdly accusatory and aggressive email from the business owner claiming that I was harming the small business with my honest review and saying I should I have reached out first to tell them I was dissatified before reviewing them. They also falsely claimed I hadn't included the balloon on my order. They offered me a 30% refund "with hopes that you will change your review on both platforms to something positive", which made me more mad. They somewhow removed my other review from Google. original review: I paid $130 for an upgraded "deluxe" bouquet and it looked nothing like the photo with cheap looking green filler and fewer flowers. I also paid for a balloon which was missing upon delivery. I would not recommend. read more

Ordered a large seasonal floral bouquet for a relative's birthday but what was delivered was very disappointing and not at all was requested or expected. They received a very small display in a vase, which comprised 90% greenery and just 5 small roses. The roses never opened up and dried out within a couple of days. Extremely disappointing and a waste of money. Would not recommend. read more

Wow!! Those are our only words. We were looking for a florist who could transform space and really create a mood. Ashley went above and beyond. I teared up when I saw our wedding dining room. She took a couple of pointers and made it the absolute maximum it could be. She also worked us through two iterations of color choices and was very patient. Overall, she was affordable, professional, and, most importantly, had a creative vision that created the whole wonderful mood around our wedding. To me, that's a very rare combination. I called Gathered Stems on Thursday (4/14/22) to request an arrangement to be sent to my cousin for her birthday on Saturday. As a former florist, I know what I like and was very specific with my instructions to the assistant who answered the phone. Thankfully I requested a photo of the arrangement to be sent prior to the delivery. What was created and sent was completely the opposite of what I requested. We refused the order and I have been texting the owner; so far she has not responded to my calls or text messages. So very disappointing! read more

Yesterday I needed an arrangement for my cousin's memorial service in Vienna. I called Ashley at Gathered Stems and she made my choice very easy and affordable. I phoned and never was placed on hold and the questions Ashley asked regarding times of availability for receiving the flowers were spot on. I requested an email be sent to me of the flowers because I was sending them in my childrens' names as well as my own and this way I could share the choice with the family. The flowers are beautiful. I have never used this nursery before but I like to call a local shop versus paying my money to 1 800 Flowers or some other national vendor. I live in Nevada and just googled florists. I am grateful for the kind and helpful support of Ashley and Gathered Stems so as to present respectful and beautiful flowers to my cousin's family. I will call again if the need arises. read more

I have used Gathered Stems and am always pleased with their creativity and quality of product. Whenever I give flowers as gifts I almost always get told "your florist is the best I have seen". Used Gathered Stems for my daughter's Bat Mitzvah. We had centerpieces as well as flowers for the Bimah at the temple. One word, OUSTANDING!! They had to make deliveries on two separate days and showed up on time with the most gorgeous flower arrangements. From the beginning they were a dream to work with. They listened to the details of the event, the theme, the colors and we came up with a game plan for the flowers. They had great ideas for the types of flowers and colors for the arrangements. The arrangements were spot on what we had discussed and the quality of the product was amazing. They centerpieces lasted for weeks after we took them home. In our house we always have flowers and my husband treats me with lavish bouquets quite often.. Last week while at his company HQ in Mc Lean, he asked the HR director for a good florist and she suggested Gathered Stems. He came home with a beautiful yellow roses (my favourite colour) composition. The arrangement was beautiful, full and the quality of the flowers outstanding. I had to come write a review. The flower and plant designs here are original and stunning. The florist is so upbeat and pleasant to talk to. I was able to text her! She called me shortly after, quickly got my order and delivered it. My mother said it was one of the most beautifully wrapped flowers she had ever received. The orchid was large and the way she looped the stem and added moss truely turned it into art. This florist is reasonably priced and doesn't drown you in fees. I order all my flowers for friends and customers from Gathered Stem. They made an arrangement in a wire baby carriage for my daughter's shower. It was so gorgeous my daughter-in-law wanted they same for her shower. Everyone is bowled over by the unique arrangements. They make beautiful silk flower arrangements for decoration too! I have used Gathered Stems for many occasions - my wedding, funerals, mother's day, etc. They have always been courteous, listened to what I want, and provided suggestions within budget and to my taste. They always use the highest quality flowers that are gorgeous and unlike anything I've seen elsewhere. The owner/designer is very knowledgeable about flower varieties, and knows what is appropriate for different occasions (how flowers will hold up, etc.). She always designs something that has unique touches that you don't see from other florists, yet is still elegant, tasteful and beautiful. I phoned the flower order in from out of state. The recipient sent me a picture of the flowers and they appeared to be lovely. Almost two weeks later, they were still ALIVE...seriously... how fresh are flowers that they last that long. I was told the arrangement was one of the best they had received. This place is not just your average flower shop, the designs that come from here have a real taste of personal creativity. I hired them for my daughter's first birthday, my cousin's bridal shower and several other family occasions, each arrangement for the separate events had its own unique style and I really appreciated the professionalism of the staff. They were on time with everything and even if the food caterer or DJ messed up at my parties, it did not matter because my home looked so beautiful with this decor. My father-in-law ordered a flower arrangement on line for me for my birthday and specified that it should be left on the door step. Unfortunately, Gathered Stem delivered the bouquet when I wasn't home and it happened to rain 5 inches that day. I don't have a covered portico so the arrangement was exposed to the wind and rain. To top it off, I came into the house through the garage door and I didn't see the bouquet and I let my puppy out. She thought the arrangement was an interesting play thing and knocked the vase over. When I found the arrangement, the glass vase was in smithereens and some of the flowers were broken. I called the store to suggest, that given the weather, they shouldn't have left the bouquet outside but they were unsympathetic and said they were just following orders. I have purchased 5 arrangements from them in the past and they were beautiful but pricey. For the premium one pays for their flowers you would expect to receive better customer service. They should have at least offered to replace the broken flowers and rearrange them in another vase. My friends feel that Gathered Stem is too pricey and they use other florists. I guess I'll be asking them for their recommendation in the future. read more
