What a flippin' JOKE!! This is why the idea of a franchise location is such a turn off... as opposed to a corporate-run location. Stopped by today to ship my son's baseball bat to Easton's warranty department because it cracked (purchased in Feb 2015). Grabbed a shipping tube ($5.??), some bubble wrap ($6.??), and was told by a cashier to pack it up, then I could pay for everything at once. When trying to bubble wrap the bat, I needed a piece of scotch tape, like ONE PIECE, to secure the wrap. The "store mgr" Marie, points my son across the room to get some tape... but she meant that we would have to BUY an ENTIRE huge roll of SHIPPING TAPE!!! We were already in a hurry, and this rude, unhelpful, lack of business sense was too much! What shipping service do you know of that REFUSES TO PROVIDE a piece of tape?? Not like I waltzed in off the street asking for tape for personal use! Since I'd already opened the bubble wrap, like a nice, sensible person, I went ahead & purchased it. I put back the shipping tube, asked for the rude lady's name (Marie) as well as her superior-- who happened to be the owner, Jerry, standing by during this whole exchange. I mentioned our experience to him on our way out, and as expected, HE CARED EVEN LESS THAN THE RUDE LADY, lol. Just stared at the printer & the wall as I spoke to him. No apology, no explanation as to if that was typical for their policies, nothing. So weird. Guess that's why they have such "rave" reviews, haha. Stinky attitudes & stinky service will guarantee repeat business... NOT! Wishing I had just set the bubble wrap aside & given them not a cent of money. On the advice of a fellow yelper, Tom R, I decided to try my local UPS store. I am very impressed. Not only was I a dullard and forgot the address before I walked in there, they didn't even care. They let me leave my project on the counter while I ran back to my car to get the address. They have the perfect size boxes for all of your needs. Plus, they pack it for you. I had some loose leaf pages that I wasn't sure how to send and wanted to make sure that they didn't get ruined. They put a giant rubber band around them and then put them in a nice bag. I was so impressed that they would pack it for you. I didn't even care what the cost was. At the end when my total came it wasn't that much more expensive than FedEx. I have another project to send out tomorrow so I will be there again. They also make name badges! I'm going to be having a name badge made for myself because my company wont get on the ball and order me one, even though I asked a thousand times. New name badge for me! read more

Dropped off a package using UPS overnight service and was given a receipt which showed the correct information; but, when I checked the tracking on my computer, it showed that I dropped the package off at the Concord UPS Store, (which I didn't)... When the package didn't arrive, a search was recorded with UPS. I returned to this drop off location where I was told the package was picked up by a UPS driver on the same day it was dropped off. The only problem was that the package wasn't scanned by the driver, to which they responded, "we aren't responsible for whether or not the driver scans the package." I am aware they have camera;s throughout the location, to include the back door where the UPS pick-ups occur. It shouldn't be a problem to check the footage and confirm the pick-up; especially, since the tracking, (that they produced) showed the package had been dropped off in Concord; although, the receipt I received clearly showed it was dropped at 1155 Arnold dr., Martinez, Ca... UPS conducted their investigation and didn't locate the package, and paid the maximum of $100.00; even though, the package contents were valued at $200.00. They followed the online information that it had been dropped off in Concord and not it's true location of Martinez. I didn't know that it was possible to produce falsified tracking info, and a correct receipt, but I do now... I asked to be contacted by either the manager or the owner about reviewing the video and haven't heard a word from them, (it's been weeks). Something is rotten in Denmark, and they'll not be trusted to handle another shipment of mine, and I write this to warn others... read more

Great drop off center. I was so happy to discover this UPS Store, the folks working here are helpful and friendly. And so far, the door is always wide open which makes it easy to walk in holding a lot of packages. Nate is especially helpful and knowledgeable. read more

This used to be my local UPS store until my family recently moved about 15 minutes away. While there is another UPS much closer to my new residence, I preferred coming to this one because of familiarity. Notice how I said "preferred", as in past tense. Basically, my wife had several drapes and other items that she ordered through Amazon that she wanted me to return through UPS. So, I decided to come to this particular UPS on Arnold Drive to do so. Big mistake!!! As soon as I stepped in the door, I was greeted (if you can call it that) by a female clerk with long brown hair tied in a ponytail and had the foulest attitude I've had the displeasure to come across in years (IN YEARS)!!! This woman's attitude was so foul that the stench would even make Oscar the Grouch uncomfortable!! Even dung flies would fly away in synchronized unison from the sulfurous odor that her attitude was emanating!! She began giving me attitude from the minute she saw the couple of mid sized boxes I struggled to bring in. Mind you, there were no other customers around so it wasn't even like she was busy at the time. At least she did provide me with a cart for my boxes, so at least she displayed some semblance of humanity, but nevertheless!! Since one of the drapes I wanted to return was unboxed, she charged me $12 for a box to ship it back in. A week later, I went to the UPS near my home with the same situation in which the very pleasant and friendly clerk scanned the unboxed drapes and gave me a receipt without charging me for a box. I don't know if this particular woman doesn't like people of darker hues like me or just doesn't like people in general, but one thing is for sure...I will never patronize the UPS on Arnold Drive ever again!!! And by the way, the customer is ALWAYS right. There once was another business a few doors away in this same shopping complex that treated customers in a not so pleasant manner as well. Guess what? Came for my passport photo at lunchtime. There were quite a few people in line, and only two cash registers open. I had to wait about 5 mins before I got to the front of the line, and then about another 5 mins until the manager (or a 3rd cashier) came to take my photo. Photo was quick, and I was able to view it before it was printed. It took maybe just over 5 mins before it was printed. Cost was $14.09. I'm happy with the service and that it was easy. The three stars is mostly for the wait, but that can't be avoided since I went during lunch when everyone else needed to go, too. read more

This is the closest UPS to DT MTZ. Open till 7 which i really appreciate since I get home late. Seemed like there was a long line and only 1 guy helping people. They was a line of about 6 plus a woman needed assistance on the computer and the man couldn't get to everyone quick enough. One nice thing about this place is that they are a quick outpost for your amazon returns. They gave me a receipt of shipment and were happy to help with that. They have computers and printers, poster machines, and create name-tags here. A lot you can do in one stop. They are kid friendly as well. There was a toddler crawling in the floor and a basket of toys provided by them for him to play with- parents can definitely appreciate that!! read more

The store was busy this afternoon which was not a big deal. It's right after Christmas, I get it. The employee Robin was extremely rude and disrespectful when I went for assistance on my returns from amazon. I let her know I was doing a few returns to amazon that now have you bring the items to the store and have them pack and send them back. I then mentioned it must be a bit of a hassle now that amazon has this service. And she said "what's the hassle is when customers try to explain to me what I'm supposed to do." And then she asked me if I expected her to recycle the boxes that I brought my items in. Truly rude employee and I will never come to this ups location. read more

Love having my mail delivered here. With any package delivered that doesn't fit in my box, they send me a text and an email notifying me that I have a package. They sign for any mail requiring signature so I don't have to be around. All the employees are friendly and helpful. read more

Love this location. They are always friendly and know their business. They will answer your questions and know how to do waybills. I come here all the time as well as bring in heavy boxes to ship across country quarterly. If they are not sure of something they will find out and get you an answer. Horrible customer service. The notaries honestly have no idea what they are doing. I go in for a simple notary. The doc has my maiden name so the blonde notary tells me she'll need my marriage certificate. I drive home, bring it back and she says she can't except it because it doesn't have my picture on it. What State Certificate has your picture on it and did this woman think it would have my pic on it?!?! Birth dates and addresses matched but because she didn't know how to put it in her book she would notarize my doc and wasted over and hour of my time. I have a business mailbox and come in fairly frequently to also ship items, but even before I did, they were always tremendously helpful, patient and fast. The WORST customer service from UPS ever. I recently moved to Martinez and this is the only UPS close to my home. I've been here two times and both times customer service is dead. Both times was a Male and female employee. No smile, no welcome or hi, zero, zit, nadas. I've been to this store a couple of times to ship stuff and the customer service has been really good! It gets busy in there, especially near closing time which is when I go on the way home from work, but the staff does a good job of incrementally moving several customers along at the same time. I've shipped UPS, US mail, sent faxes and purchased shipping supplies. I've been satisfied with all of these services. My only wish is that they open on Sundays since that seems to be when I want to go. read more

Came in after being told by the people at FedEx that they couldn't ship my package and I had to go to UPS. Once I arrived, the woman said, "oh ur gunna hate me" because I had to go to the post office, not ups but the people at FedEx read it wrong. She taped up my box for me since the post office charges for tape and told me directions to the post office. I definitely did not hate her and appreciated her help since I had no idea what I was doing. Great service! read more

The UPS Store in Martinez continues to amaze me by how helpful they are whenever I need to do copying, or print things using their computers. I know nothing about PC computers, and they are always so happy to help me get the project done just like I want it. They have helped me create theatre programs and cards. I am always greeted by name by the owner, Jerry, and all the other workers. I really like that it has that small town, private business feel, even though there are UPS Stores all over. Went in this week to drop off a package, the lady behind the counter was extremely rude! My package was sealed and ready but I didn't have the label in a sleeve, hence why I was there and in line. She grabbed it from me and began folding up the label as if it was an inconvenience. She then walked to the other side, printed my receipt and handed it to me and NOT one time did she say ONE word to me! HORRIBLE CS on her part and a terrible representation of this Company! I go in there often and this is the first time I have had this issue and to be honest, if I walked in and saw her I would turn around and walk out! read more

I have been in the store several times over the past year, and have consistently received rude, incompetent service. The employees are often overheard complaining about the owner. Simple troubleshooting of printers seem beyond the scope of the staff, and I don't trust the quality of this packaging effort when shipping UPS. I also have a box here, but will not be renewing. The business address given for the box is really unprofessional, and to access it I have to walk by several scowls. I have been hoping that the slew of negative reviews would have motivated either the owner or manager to make a change, but it's clear that the issues are systemic. read more

Long line, incompetent help making wait longer,after waiting about 15 minutes, lady behind counter let someone cut in front of me, when I said I am next, she says "oh she is just sending a fax" I was just buying an envelope. Then hulking fat guy, sweating profusely, looked like he was tweaking big time rings up my envelope, and then rudely says " Thank you, have a nice day, have a nice week" as I am walking out the door. Apparently I was supposed to Thank him for letting someone cut in line, and buying the envelope. I had a chance to compare it with the closest Fed Ex store this week and the prices for what I needed (online access, printing and faxing) we less expensive. I've used this place a few times as a pick-up location for packages that I'm unable to be home to sign for. Over the weekend a package arrived for my wife, but the driver left a door tag despite us being home. Their web site allowed me to redirect my wife's package using my personal UPS account and told them to redirect the package to this location. Not only did they not call to advise the package arrived, when I arrived to pick it up, a lady manager refused to release it to me, despite my driver's license showing the same last name and same address. A UPS driver knocking at the door would have had me sign for it and all would be good. This is the second incident of incompetence at this store. I would never recommend this place to handle your postal mail, nor UPS deliveries until they have their staff and managers trained. read more
