The UPS corporate website says that it costs $0.50 cents to print a return label at their locations, however, because they are "a franchise" and get to "make their own pricing decisions" they will charge you $4 to print a mailing label for your package. It's the kind of business decision that baffles me and will prevent me from ever genuinely using their services besides a drop-off point for Amazon returns. It does not cost anywhere close to $4 to print a return label, and to price-gouge a MAILING LABEL is just madness to me. Do better. read more

Spencer also explained that a claim would be processed if package was lost. Michael called back an hour later and spoke with Dawn. She confirmed sender and recipients address. Dawn tried to open the claim on UPS.com, but the online system would not allow her to began the claim because tracking showed in transit. She explained to Michael but he was upset. She explained she would try again Monday. Yesterday Dawn started the investigation and contact the sender, Eileen xxx and left message with update. As of today the tracking only shows investigation started and package has not been delivered. I've worked in La Jolla for 20 years and have always had a great experience at this ups store location. I've always been welcomed and treated kindly Minus one Unfriendly female employee a month ago I really noticed the attitude towards me , she never greets me usually walks away to the back. But there will always be one bad apple in the bunch And the others definitely make up for her rudeness. The last few times recently Jessica has helped me with my Amazon returns she's so friendly and a happy bubbly personality she's quick at scanning and patient when I can't get my phone to corporate. She greets with a smile and ends with have a great day every time . I appreciate her for always making my experience lovely . The guys are great too I've had good experiences with their customers service as well . Over all I definitely recommend this location for all your shipping needs read more

I have never seen such an inept bunch of Bozos in my life. There were 4 people working. One other customer. I was served by a girl who clearly wasn't trained properly. Nobody wanted to help her. It was painful to watch. This poor girl asking for help, the one older robot working there showed her how it worked then helped another customer. The other two young men pretty much refused to help her with the program and printer. What an embarrassment. read more

This has been my go-to store for all my package drop offs out of proximity to home, but the last time my SO dropped off a return, it got lost! $700 worth of clothes completely lost and no one to help. I called in and the lady I talked to directed me to call various places which didn't lead to anything. Then after I dropped by the store, they told me exactly opposite things. I called the main location of the couriers and they told me things different than both of the two that worked here. I again approached this store and they told me all of the USPS pick up goes to some place in Carmel valley and gave me the phone and address to it, but when I went/called it was not the right place and just a regular post office. Over all, lots of misinformation and time spent trying to track down a package which was lost after dropping it off at this store. And no one to help! read more

Recently I've had two horrible situations happen to me as a customer with UPS at the La Jolla location at 7660 Fay Avenue. 10 days ago, Yananice, their new hire received my package of $500 sennheiser headphones and decided to not put my package in my mailbox but instead put it in the outgoing mail, and almost shipped my headphones out of the building. When I came in and showed that my tracking had been delivered and she was questioned about my package she denied seeing it completely and denied responsibility entirely(typical). By working with another employee I was able to catch this mistake and receive my package. Four days ago, a valued $3000 DJ deck got delivered to the store where my PO Box is.. Marvin, a regular employee listened to a new UPS courier Who said that my package was a returned to sender, which it was NOT and they didn't even bother to look at the label, let it sit there for a day and then let UPS take it from their store, and now they can't locate it!!! Tori the operations manager needs to do a WAY better job of training her employees and have more competent hires, and take more responsibility for their mistakes in their store. Tori told me to tell the seller on eBay, that they should start a claim, but the last scan shows that the package was delivered, and there is no marking for return to sender on my package and there are no further scans to show that my package has left the warehouse hub here in San Diego. Also UPS thinks this was sent by Amazon when it's actually an eBay purchase, so everything is messed up with this and 1000% has to do with UPS, it's negligence and poor protocol/procedures!!! To make matters worse, I have been on the phone with eBay customer service about this item for the last week, due to it being a high risk item. This is also a new eBay seller who has been non communicative and if they did receive it back from UPS they're going to lie about it and then I'm screwed out the money and the equipment. Shame on you UPS!!!!!!!!! I want closure as a paying customer. I want there to be competent managers, curriers and employees that take responsibility for their mistakes and do their job, which is to deliver my mail! Revision! Torri Morris is amazing!! They are helpful, kind, and always take great care with my returns as well as the packages they ship for me. They will tape a package for me if I don't have any myself (UNLIKE the USPS), don't charge me for copying my return shipping labels, and are just overall efficient and a pleasure to deal with. I was filling out a time-sensitive fax form, when this customer walked in who was completely belligerent! From the moment she walked in, she complained loudly that it wasn't the desk staff she was used to. Somehow that was such a problem for her? I saw the staff Scott handle the womans requests without rising to her weird attitude, as well as juggle mine and other customers' questions. I felt this UPS helped me feel secure that I was able to fax an important document with verified delivery, and I found the staff very helpful. read more

Nice people but I personally will never do business here. this store doesn't do what every ups store in the city of San Diego does --offer you a box for 3 day mail you can fill not dependent on weight and send for under $20. Since this location does not carry the boxes, they gave me a quote of over $60 to do the exact same thing. Disappointed because I walked over a mile with a stack of mail to this location thinking ups services were standardized and all offer the same options. Not the case. Yes they are nice but is that worth paying an exorbitant fee three times higher than the San Diego ups stores to send the exact same thing? I think not. I've had multiple visits to this store and the lack of customer care and low service level, leaves much to be desired. Every time I visit it seems the only concern is to upsell me a box. I use the Amazon service that does not require boxing. however, the staff seems to disagree and although they usually relent persistence prevails. Unfortunately this is the only store in the Village and despite this, I hope they go out of business. Worst staff and business model I ever seen. I'll be wasting gas to go to Whole Foods. read more

This is not a company owned store, it is a franchise store. Beware, this UPS store charges $10 to have a UPS package delivered to the store!!! I was not able to sign for a delivery because of work and needed a critical package delivered but the store charges $10 to receive a package from their own company, UPS. I can only imagine what they would charge for a FedEx delivery!! Follow up information: The owner of the store replied to my review. He did offer a gift card to use at the store, but I declined. He mentioned it is $0 (zero) charge for them to take a package but that is not what the employee had stated to me the night I called and inquire about how late they would be open to take a package and be there for me to pick it up. The employee I spoke to was well aware I had made arrangements thru UPS 800 phone number for the package to be delivered to the store, it was NOT being sent to the UPS store directly from the merchant, it was arranged on the phone with UPS through their My Choice program. I had been on hold with the UPS for so long before I spoke to the store and then I had to make a another call back to UPS for the change because the 800 number said I could not make an address change after 6pm. read more

This is a small unassuming UPS Store in the corner of the shopping center on Fay and Kline. But, it gets the job done. We needed to do some printing, scanning, and faxing. The computer you use to access your file is pretty slow, that's my main complaint. I was surprised how slow it was, but like I said, it got the job done. I think it was 99 cents to use the computer. The fax was long distance, so that was the largest cost. The employee helped us with everything we needed, and he waited to charge us until the fax was confirmed. I thought this was a nice touch. Although we didn't need them, the store appeared to have a lot of packing materials. This store is open on Saturday, which is helpful. read more

I had three things I needed to get done: 1) Mail a pair of sunglasses 2) Fax 4 pages to someone 3) Drop off my outgoing mail I was in and out of this place in a matter of about 5 minutes! The guy in there working was a rock star. He knew every question I needed to be asked and was on top of it all. I don't know what to say, I've never had such great service at a place like this. I didn't have to fill very much out (none of those crazy fed ex sheets to fill out) - he just typed everything into the computer and presto chango I was outta there. Come here bi monthly, at the least. Had to ship a 70lb box last week and arrived 30 minutes before opening. I struggled to get it out of my trunk and attempted to drag it up the ramp. The same staff member who is there every weekend came out, I thought he was going to help me. He walked past me to go to the center of the complex. I finally reached the storefront and waited for it to open. He came back, walked by me without acknowledgment and around the large box. Then waited until 9:00 to open. The first time I came here, I waited fifteen minutes and no one showed. I was not happy. I had to leave and come back- I was an out of town guest trying to ship a painting I purchased at the La Jolla Art Fair. Once I returned and was assisted, the staff was great. Very knowledgeable, promised they'd take good care of the painting and I was done in less than ten minutes. If it arrives on schedule in pristine shape, I'm bump the stars in my review! Update! Can I start off by saying that the employee named Jackie is a lifesaver? She is considerate and goes above and beyond. I noticed that I came in with two minutes to spare before closing and there was a customer ahead of me as well as behind me... The customer in front of me was not the nicest, but Jackie still served with a smile. I only had two Amazon returns to make but I had run out of packaging tape. Jackie was kind enough to tape them both up for me. Of course I printed out the wrong shipping labels too :( Jackie let me know that I was welcome to print my labels for free on the computer in the back. She even opened up my packages and included the extra shipping label inside without me asking! I really appreciated the extra time and effort she spent, considering it was a Friday night and I'm sure she had things to do after work. This is the worst UPS Store I have ever come across. I have known owners of Postal Annex and other UPS stores and have never experienced this. I do not understand why the owner and managers will allow their employees to work all day without brakes, without lunches and expect them to go above and beyond for shity customers who complain because an employee did not jump when she snapped her her fingers for help and made an ASSumption that he was on the clock. This is absolutely appalling. I cannot believe what I saw and witnessed at this UPS store. I believe the owner and the managers do not have the interest of their employees but the interest of customers pockets. They have no appreciation for people who work hard for very little money without a break and without a lunch. The other employees that have been there for a very long time take time off and do absolutely nothing but smoke weed and sit around and chat amongst each other. There are some that work hard and are really trying to better their life yet somehow get mistreated. Maybe this is a racial issue, Maybe it's a human defect issue but this is an actual fact, not a lie. I have actual proof and if you want to come and ask me, ask! You are getting ripped off by shopping at the store and sending a package out when you could just go to the post office for much less. I have witnessed the UPS driver throw your packages on the floor and not handle them with care. However, if you decide you want people to kiss your ass and treat you like royalty, then by all means go to this store, or as the pregnant woman who ASSUMED someone was on the clock..get an employee fired or make them quit by writing bad reviews. Making an assumption is making an ASS of yourself! By all means if this is how you petty people live, then go & do your business there.
