I've been to the UPS Store in Cranford several times, but I won't be returning anytime soon. I recently tried to ship two Amazon return packages, and both were rejected by the woman working behind the counter. She claimed the boxes weren't thick enough and insisted I needed to purchase a box or bag from the store instead. I took the same packages to another UPS Store and had no issues at all. This isn't the first time I've felt pressured at this location to buy additional packaging when it wasn't actually necessary. It comes across as an upsell tactic rather than genuine policy enforcement. Between the inconsistent service and the poor attitude, this location has lost my business. read more

Tried dropping off an Amazon return here. They took issue with the box that the package was in (WHICH WAS THE SAME BOX IT WAS SHIPPED TO ME IN - PROBABLY MADE IT ALL THE WAY FROM CHINA). The staff was not satisfied with the box and tried to upcharge me $59 to buy a new box and package it in the new box. $59 for a cardboard box and some tape? Really? Overall extremely unhelpful, offered me no real help or alternatives. Took the box to another UPS drop point. The box was 1 pound over the limit of that drop point and they did not make an issue of it. Took it with no issues. This place is useless and Amazon should not be contracting with them. Slow, often inconsistent shipping and drop off service. They add in extra price vs printing the UPS label at home. I had a package that cost $21 printed at home and I got lazy and went in person it cost $40 to print in person. The workers sometimes take forever to do simple label scanning. read more

Xenophobic Jackie, has been the worst employee I've interacted with (including the ones who work at the DMV or Post Office.) I came here with my husband to notarize 1 page document. Jackie, when saw us speaking Spanish, look us in the same way Satan would look a priest. She mistreated us, basically told my husband that his ID was fake, (government issued CDL) She made him take down his mask in a store full of people to check that his face matched with the picture putting him, and the other people in the store at risk. After having me sign in several pieces of paper, she basically told me my signature was not my signature , because it "looked different". Lady, you are there to assure that people who ought to sign sign, you are a public notary, not a CSI authenticator. Besides I am not signing the Declaration of Independence here. Just trying to get a notarized letter to my tenant. I feel she tried to treat us like sh*** because we were speaking Spanish. Unfortunately for her I told her in perfect English to go and f*** herself and put that notary seal down her throat. I left and found another notary who was actually pleasant and not a uptight xenophobic b*** like Jackie. Pardon my language! I'm very grateful that I take my business to the local post office. I've been to this location a few times over the past couple of weeks because I was presented with a pre-paid label. All I needed was an envelope. The few times I've been here, it's a train wreck. Between the customers and the staff, it's a time warp. They couldn't go any slower. Are the customers sending gold somewhere else? Why are there so many questions? Do you know there is a pandemic and we shouldn't be around people? Does $4 really make a difference on what day they receive it? Why can't anyone find the address their shipping it to? Today, I walked out. When I'm on line for a long time and you just yell "next" and someone jumps in front of me and the person in front of me and you don't say anything? I'm done. I went to the post office and had a very nice experience. I don't care that I had to pay. I will tell my office to save their money because this one and the many more are on me. read more

Awful. Just awful. Went there last Saturday to overnight a document. The clerk/customer rep first charged me $48 for an $18 service. Then couldn't print the label. Then informed that they can't express ship to P.O. Boxes. Then changed it to a US Postal Service Priority mail envelope. Then couldn't print a label again and asked me to leave it with them til later. The document was worth $8500. The senior clerk/customer rep got testy when I advsied that I needed to label printed as the document was too important to leave with them. He then printed the label and made a scene advising how demoralized he was. A week later the document never made it to its destination. It will now cost me $400-500 dollars and two days to fix this mess. Do yourself a favor. Use a different service. read more

Although the woman was polite, I was charged $27.00 for two books of first class stamps. I initially indicated that it was $22 or fifty-five cents per stamp. The woman empathetically stated that it was $27. Since I do not keep abreast with stamp prices. I took her at her word. That was my mistake. It seemed to be such a large increase and I checked when I got home and the price as of 4:15 today is fifty-five cents per stamp or $22 for two books. I think that's called dishonest! I recently sent a package overseas with an engagement gift for my son and his fiancée. There were some difficulties in its delivery & getting it to them was not an easy task. Despite issues with a time difference, my son's work schedule and some other factors, Jackie and the staff at the Cranford store were in contact with me throughout the entire process. DO NOT USE THIS STORE!!! They charged me $47 for guaranteed Saturday delivery. But when the package did was not delivered as promised on Saturday, they said that Guaranteed Delivery was suspended by corporate and that they will not give me a refund. I explained that perhaps their employees should not offer "Guaranteed Delivery" and should instead make customers aware before they pay extra for the service. The snarkey employee told me the notice of suspension was posted-- yeah, on a 10 pt font notice to the side of the register below eye level. Seems quite disingenuous in light of people lining up 6 feet apart in the store in the midst of a holiday season. So, they offer a service they KNOW is suspended and then refuse a refund. I called UPS Corporate and they told me the same thing. In other words, they are ripping people off in the midst of a pandemic during the holiday season. Way to go, UPS. read more

I have been working with this local UPS store for a year and a half. The main reason I continue to come back is because of Jackie the manager. Initially i presented her with several important projects. She exceeded my expectations. I continue to bring her projects to include a last minute one for my daughters wedding. Instead of telling me there's no time she in a very friendly and professional manner told me no worries. It'll get done. And it was. Like a good manager She delegates some responsibilities to Lorenzo. Lorenzo is very friendly and has done a great job. This is a great team at this local UPS. Nice people but not a well run place. Place opens at 8. Monday morning come at 830, the line is to the door with one person working. I have errands to run so I come back in an hour; there was supposed to be someone coming to help at 9:30. I come back and there's still the same one person working and the line is still to the door. I have to wait; can hear voices from the back of the store but no help. Finally get to the desk, the woman takes care of me, she's friendly and efficient and I'm out the store in less than a minute. Go to a FedEx store if you can. UPS charges $3.99 for anything you want to do online. That's their minimum charge. I only needed to print a document from online. Took 1 min. $0.59/min. Charges my card $3.99. Since they have it set up with no scanner it was an additional $1.00 to have them do it. Note: things print out behind the counter not at the printer next to the computer. Be prepared to wait in line to pick them up. Staff is nice. They understand it's set up without the customer in mind, sort of thrown together. Works in a pinch if you really have no other options, such as was my situation today. read more

I frequent Cranford ups store about 5 days a week to ship items do various returns today I walked in with two returns for Amazon opened the way Amazon wants you to do . Rep told me it's a 1.50 to print a prepaid label and 3.00 to tape a box I said no. Asked to speak with owner his name is James I didn't want to speak to Jacqueline Reese the manager. I said the he'll with it got to my vehicle rembered I had to mail a package to a customer walked back in ms Reese asked can I help you showed her the qr code and asked are you going to charge me she responded get in line. The customer infront of me had a open not sealed package going back to Amazon it was scan label the replacement said we will take care of it. I looked at Michelle said that's unfair why don't you charge them to tape there package? Her eyes rolled she had a mask on. I presented the qr code facing down and she instructed me to hold it up so I did she scans the code saying you almost hit me I laughed at her looking her in the eyes and said yeah okay she scanned handed a receipt told me not to come back again! I laughed said I will call ups corporate so I did created a complaint and drove to Elizabeth gas is only $4.00 a gallon . I walked in talking to ups corporate asked them to hold on presented the items they scanned and printed labels I then said to them Cranford charges to do that service they said so many people tell me that. Your business is only good with traffic because your in Cranford but Michelle really needs to understand customer service it's really frustrating driving all over wasting money because of your employees attitudes if you represent ups then you represent me because I only use ups to ship items. I have come here several times and sometimes the line can be painfully slow. Every time I have come here they only have one register open. So it can be slow..Like snail slow, if you are in a hurry go during off peak times. Update: I recently came here again to send back two small parcels to Amazon. I taped the boxes closed but ran out of tape for the four corners of the printed label that is placed on top. I didn't think it a big deal as there is tape in the register to reinforce packages. I told the attendant if she could stick 2 slivers of tape ( it's the thick kind which would cover the label) and to my surprise she told me I would be charged extra.. Say what? That's the dumbest thing I have heard, you are a package business you tape labels to packages! I left the store, and walked across the parking lot to Dollar General and bought tape for 50 cents and taped the corners of the label. 50 cents, UPS in Cranford you left a sour taste for 50 freaking cents..it would have cost you much less as it is purchased wholesale. read more

THIS STORE IS FANTASTIC! The staff are helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. I have been using them for 5 years! James is the owner and manager, Stephanie is the Assistant Manager, and Bobby is staff. They all know their stuff and they all try to save me money. I have used them for photocopying, faxing, emailing documents, UPS services and US Postal Services products and services. They have shipped almost 50 packages for me and everything is always correct. I went to the Cranford location and I was sending a package to Charleston, I asked the man for the lowest rate. He told me "one twenty one". I couldn't believe my ears,,, $121.00! I asked him again-is that the cheapest? He gave me several different rates and his attitude was shady. My package weighed about 6 lbs. I took my package and walked out. I was near the Brick location and the owner was fantastic. He showed me what my options were. The CRANFORD location was definitley shady and over priced. I will NOT be back!! read more

Was home all day waiting for my package just to get a update that my package was attempted with a sticker on my door saying they were going to deliver next day, no knock or doorbell ring. According to my tracking info next day was ready for pickup at this location. Female employee immediately was rude and stated that she can't find any package with my name, I proceeded to say that I received an email that my package was ready for pickup. She then with an attitude stated pick up is after 1oclock no where does it state that in the email or the note left on the door. I asked her if the tracking Info would help her and she refused to try and be helpful just to go through the boxes on the floor exposed to other customers as well just to find my package in a unsecure area. She couldn't even apologize and continue to then state that next time my address needs to be the same address my product was delivered to which makes no sense people have packages delivered to different locations all time. Don't understand what her reason for attitude and unprofessionalism was for. Looking over previous reviews and someone mentioned the employee with the Karen hair cut was rude, guess this is just a common issue with this lady. read more

I don't get this guy all the time but the same kid tries to charge me like $40+ to ship something out and the costs are always unbelievably expensive. Every time he says my box isn't good enough and that justifies spending 25$ on a box and bubble wrap because I'm paying for the "service". It's such a joke because I never charged customers more for my "services" as an employee. Next time I'm certainly going to try USPS, or Fed Ex. The sad thing is it's always only this one kid, I usually have such an easy time when I go there. Feels like there's definitely some up charges. read more

I went to the UPS store in Cranford New Jersey (Store # 2421) on 12/1/21 at approximately 2:30pm, and the older woman who works there (I think her name is Jackie) was hanging a sign up on the door. As I tried to walk in, she (laughed!) and told me that there was a nationwide UPS computer outage, and that the store wouldn't be taking any packages until the computers were back up. She suggested that I (and another man who walked up at this time), try again later or the next day. Having dealt with her unprofessional behavior in the past (to say she is as mean as a snake is an injustice to snakes), I went home and scanned the internet for news of this nationwide outage. Having not found any such outage, I called the UPS store in Westfield, who verified that although the system was down, packages could still be taken, it was just a little more difficult. The Westfield store remained open that day. While the rest of the employees at this store are fantastic, their hard work is undermined by this woman's consistently bad behavior. I gave one star because, judging by the negative reviews about her specifically on google and yelp (Beware - I think she may be giving people fake names when they ask her), management clearly knows that she is a problem but won't do anything about it. Do not use this UPS location. They are under-staffed and never return calls. You have to keep calling to get a response. When you pay extra money for next day air, it is not guaranteed. Incompetent and unhelpful. I advise avoiding this store if you value your shipment. The girl gave me the wrong facts, showed no inclination to help and offended me to boot. I tried to check on a package of Christmas gifts dropped off for shipment last Saturday. The young woman behind the counter told me it was delivered the next day.. then changed her mind when pressed to say it had been returned to Cranford the store of origin. (Note these are individual franchises not owned by the company.) After a whispered phone consultation she handed me a box I had not wrapped insisting my recipient had opened and repacked the contents. The UPS label was clearly marked damaged. Finally I raised my voice to pierce the denseness of her thought and lack of response. Her answer, I will not help you I feel threatened. Items were missing. Most of the rest of the items covered in oil, a clearly spoiled Christmas for my family. A call to UPS headquarters indicated the company knew they had damaged the box and a claim could be placed. I was not notified of this at Cranford and not even told the box was returned. At the very least the place is unreliable and untrustworhy. It was not the damage that was at issue for me, it was the utterly miserable level of service. and lack of concern. Other nearby UPS outlets have provided far superior service. read more

I had never been here before & came in thinking it would be more convenient than the Post Office & I was right!
