On moving day, Eugene and the two other guys on his team were awesome. They were really careful and thorough with everything. They wrapped our furniture and belongings extremely well, and we didn't have a single thing damaged. They also took the time to disassemble and reassemble furniture, which was a huge help. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and professional throughout the whole move. The only thing I would mention is that the move took longer than we originally expected. BUT honestly, I don't really see this as a negative because it was clear that they were taking their time and doing things the right way. We've had movers in the past who rushed, cut corners, and ended up damaging things, so I would much rather have a team take a little longer and be careful with our stuff. Overall, we were really happy with Albo and would definitely recommend them. Now this was just the pickup and re-boxing of corroded cartons, but if the other end of this move go as smoothly as this side, I will sing Aces praises to the skies and above. I dealt with the same Michael J as the high maintenance young lady who complained that one of the movers pooped in her potty, and found him to be excellent from start to finish. He was thorough, assuring and followed up on every step of my estimate and obtaining the proper documentation from my co-op. I got a call to confirm, the day before the move, from the most lovely woman, Diane, who I spent the next twenty minutes chatting with. The movers themselves showed up at 11:30 AM for my scheduled 1 PM move, and politely offered to wait if I was not ready. Michael F, the foreman of the crew was at the top of his game. I just got out of his way and let him do his job. Yes, I put my cat in the bedroom, but not because he didn't like it, as one of the self entitled millennial whiners complained, but because pets get underfoot during a move, you clueless snowflake. This was single most flawless moving experience Ive had. But then again, I'm an adult and know that professionals get the job gone. And complainers complain. Yes. They re-taped some of my boxes! But that was because the tape I had used ten years ago was either old and falling off, or newly taped boxes not secure enough! If Ace is in fact a third party mover as one reviewer indicates, then anything happens to my stuff now is already out of their hands, so the job they did was excellent. And if Ace is a third party contractor, now I understand why their rates can be as low as they are!!! I reserve the right to revise my comments when my move is completed, but Aces delivered in spades. Did Michael F suggest that if I was happy they suggested a gratuity? Yes. But he also added it would be added to my bill. I asked if he'd prefer cash and he smiled. So I too tipped $100 per man and he was most grateful. I wasn't intimidated by some strong arm bully! It was merely a line item on the bill, just like you find on a restaurant check. I began composing my YELP review before Michael F had even left the building. I give him and ACE 16 stars. So far so spectacular. UPDATED 6/27: Ace arrived in LA today. The precise date we agreed upon. 3 PM. The precise time we had agreed upon! Tomas and Brooklyn we friendly, considerate, hard working. They moved everything into my garage in no time flat. Everything safe and sound! Dead on the estimate. No hidden fees, tricks or any else! I followed their directions, emailed them a PDF of my shopping list and they promptly called to set up a time, which was the next day. They emailed me the quote, which included the cost of my items, a $90 delivery charge and a $50 shopping charge (for going in the store, getting the items and buying them). It seemed easy enough and very convenient considering my schedule is nuts and I'm über busy. I left the office early, got the cash for the goods and met them at my apartment. So far, so good - right? Wrong. As I was carrying the items into my building with the assistance of my kind doorman, the delivery guys were calculating the final bill. When all was said and done, the shopping charge was $70 and the final bill was nearly $300 more than what it should have been. Why? Apparently the extra $20 they charged me for shopping was to pick out all the wrong items. After a few minutes of a confused driver telling me he didn't know what to do, I grabbed the cash and sent them on their way with the stuff I didn't order. A complete waste of time. Here's a tip for this delivery service: If the items aren't available at IKEA, you might want to contact your customers first instead of showing up at their door with the wrong and more expensive items. Mold and Rats. This…read moreplace is dirty. There are rat traps throughout the place. I stored my things for a couple of years and came back to find mold on my things and dead bugs, and live bugs. Also, owner advertises as "climate controlled" but it is not. It is street temperature, extremely hot and humid, thus bugs and mold. Also, mold coming up through the concrete floor which is street level. Had to most of my belongings, $20K sentimental things, heartbreaking for me and disgusted with how much money I paid to this shyster. Go and see the rat traps, water damaged floors, holes in ceiling, for yourself and smell the must an mold in the air.
