Don't use DHL. I paid almost $200 USD to mail a package to Macau. After almost 2 weeks without any tracking notice, I was told later that my package couldn't be delivered and would have to be destroyed without sending it back to me. I was told by the Macau authorities that the Post Office usually returns the package back to the sender while this company just simply destroyed it without letting me to choose. Horrible experience. My family sent me a parcel and it has delivered 10/12/22 with doorman's signature but I have not received and no doorman signed. Also, the Proof of picture is not my apartment. DHL told me they will investigate it but after few day, DHL closed this investigation with no further follow up and.....They just said me to contact to sell/shipper and file a claim... When DHL can't find where you live to delivery a package, they'll suggest that you pick up your packages as the nearest DHL location. Hence, DHL Elizabeth. In order to get to the place, you'll drive all the way down to the end of Papetti Plaza. You'll notice a black fence lining the entire property. And at the ingress and egree point, there will be a security guard posted, who will ask for your ID and write down the make/model of your vehicle as well as the license plate number. After the thumbs up, you will then be allowed to proceed to park in the parking lot. Upon exiting your vehicle, you will notice that the DHL center has tinted from doors. The service area is extremely small. The right hand side contains 4 clocks from various time zones, as well as a large map containing historical information indicating when DHL expanded to which countries during which years. As for the customer representatives at this particular location--definitely charming and amiable, unlike the impatient call-center folks. read more

I purchased some motorcycle parts on eBay and paid extra for DHL "Express" which appears to be a misnomer. My parcel has been sitting in Elizabeth, NJ since Tuesday, February 2 (2021). Today is Friday, February 5. DHS is claiming that concern for their drivers' safety is why my package is "on hold." Yes it snowed on Monday. But that hasn't stopped UPS, the USPS, FedEx - or Amazon Prime. It didn't stop me from going to work either - the roads are in good shape. Elizabeth, NJ, is across the Kill Van Kull (narrow body of water) from Staten Island. It should be a trivial matter to effect a delivery. But Customer Service told me I should pick it up! So in addition to paying for the privilege of doing my own delivery I would pay more money - for bridge and turnpike tolls. I declined the honour as I paid for an "express" delivery. Express is no longer a possibility but shouldn't DHL be able to make a simple delivery given that this is all they do? But they are as truculent as they are unprofessional. In hopes of obtaining my parts before I am too old to ride I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (Complaint Nr. 15178447). That and a Metrocard will get me on the bus - as unlike DHL all of the MTA buses are running on schedule! read more

I would give this place 0 stars if I could, they do not deserve the 1 star rating they currently have!! My second time dealing with them and both times the, driver apparently couldn't find my address and said that I wasn't home. I am guessing these drivers are too lazy to even leave their trucks and ring my doorbell because I have had a "delivery attempted" notice left online about 6 times already, meanwhile I was home waiting for the package I needed urgently and nobody showed up. When you call the customer service representatives the only option they can give you is to try to redeliver the package on the next business day again or for you to come pick up the package at a location that is 30 minutes away. My first experience with DHL is terrible!!!!!!!!! I spent about $300 to do express shipping with signature. They delivered my package in the lobby in the wrong building. No signature! Wrong address! They didn't do their job!!! I called to customer service and investigation department. DHL said the driver took the picture that showed the package was delivered and tried to get rid of their responsibility. They said somebody in my building took my package. I asked for the proof photo. DHL promised to send me proof photo and They didn't do it because they realized they delivered to wrong address. Finally, I saw the proof photo online and it was in wrong building. I called DHL in Elizabeth, NJ many times. Until now, they didn't apologize even once to me and never admit that they didn't do their job correctly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I paid for signature service. Absolutely terrible. I paid for two day shipping to arrive on a Friday. It was a no signature required package and I live in a secure building in a good neighborhood. At 2:30 on Friday I received a text message stating that the driver attempted to deliver my package but I wasn't home. I immediately called DHL customer service and spoke with a supervisor who agreed with me that the package should have been left and put a message to the courier to re-deliver the package that day. The driver never responded, until 640 pm when the supervisor from the DHL call center spoke to the manager at this Elizabeth location and they notified me he wouldn't deliver today and would come Monday. The supervisor specifically left notice to leave the package without signature (even though there's no signature required anyways). Now it's Monday and yet AGAIN the driver did not leave my package and the Elizabeth location is not answering the phone and the driver is not attempted redelivery despite management of DHL requesting redelivery again. NEVER use DHL!!!!! I wish I could give 0 stars!!!! read more

I payed almost $100 in total for my package and to have it shipped early and it's been 1 month! I went to the office and they said they came 3 times. But I sat at the window while I did my work because I have experienced stuff like this. After the guy said they have been there already I told they dident and he tried to cover for himself he said oh umm we don't have your package even tho he just said they did. After a full day of waiting for my package it was never delivered. They never even bothered to contact the driver who had the package. DHL in Elizabeth is nothing but an inconvenience I've never experienced these kinds of problems with any international shipping agency. Avoid them at all costs if you have customers awaiting merchandise or if you expected to receive your package on the date of delivery. They should be held accountable but they're not. I was at home the whole time and no one even knocked on the door and call when they could not locate my address. They simply update as "Tried to deliver, but customer not at home. " As a customer, I had to drive to Elizabeth NJ to get my package the next day. They also refused to refund me the cost of two day shipping since the item was bought from a third party company. I ordered and payed for 4 day shipping and it's now going on 2 weeks... my package has been sitting in DHL since Monday January 10 and it's currently January 14. I registered for contactless delivery due to having covid when I placed the order. The order got postponed all day and I got a notification that they couldn't leave the package because no one answered the door at MIDNIGHT. Although it's late I stayed by my door to wait for my case because it was a gift. No one ever knocked nor did I get a message until after they marked it as couldn't be left. Now the shipping is saying they can't come back out until January 17th. My case shipped out on January 3rd this is bullshit and now I have to drive 2 hours to the center tomorrow to get the $70 phone case I ordered almost a month ago. God awful to say the least. I ordered a package from California and got an email confirming my order with a tracking number. On the day it was supposed to arrive I was on vacation and had my cousin go to my house- nothing was there. I check online again and it said undeliverable as addressed? So I call and ask what the problem is. They said my address was 4233 instead of 423- but I got an email confirming my correct information- they said they'd changed the address and if the package was still in their hands they'd deliver. Then when I called back they said that the package was sent pack to UPS? When I called UPS is was delivered back to the business and I never got it, EVER. Never use DHL, if someone ships something to you via DHL, ask them to use someone else. Lazy DHL drivers never even show up to our APT complex. They will say they attempted delivery and you weren't home. This time I was in my lobby waiting, when I got email and text notification they attempted delivery, the truck was never even on property. We have video footage of the time. This is the 4th time this year, where they have lied. And i have to go pick it up, because the last three times, they supposedly tried multiple times, and then DHL customer service got mad at me and told me if I wanted it that badly then come pick up myself. I had a package overnighted and requested to be held for pickup the Friday before a holiday. The package was never held at the facility, but instead scheduled for delivery. After waiting a few hours with no update, I called customer service to find out more information. I was told to call back in 30-40min to ensure the package had arrived back to the facility so that I could pick it up the same day. I called customer service back an hour later only to find out that the previous representative placed an alert for my package to be returned BUT that I wouldn't be able to pick it up the same day (the package needed to be reprocessed). After expressing my frustrations and being placed on hold the second representative informed me my package actually never left the facility and that if I can make it there before closing, I'd be able to pick up the package no problem. I drove through traffic to get to the facility only to find out my package was indeed with the courier and that I wouldn't be able to get my package until Tuesday since the alert to bring it back to the facility couldn't be canceled. read more

Status of the package shows delivered and haven't received the package. When I called customer service they told me someone will contact me in 2hrs and I did not receive any call. Then I called back again and they transferred to other department and they mentioned that they are sent a message to the local service center and it takes 2-3 days to get the response back from them. The package is containing food items. if it takes 2-3 days to get the information when will I get the package delivered. I have been using other services (FedEx) for the past 12yrs and never had an issue, first time someone suggested to go with DHL and totally screwed up. rude and unprofessional from the office staff to the carriers when I ask to speak to a supervisor they fake transferred me to a line and just let it rang out , both a man name mark and another female employee did this to me each time and then eventually stopped answering my calls ..those called are monitored and recorded right ? ..good ,they could not give me location info on my package or let me know when I could pick it up in person when I had my sister call from her line they responded until they realize the package was for me at that point they told her the driver was not answering his phone DHL has no regard for customer service it was more like employee service I still have it received my package and fear I may not ever receive it because the employees of DHL were so bluntly rude and I feel like they may purposely keep from getting my package in a timely manner .what a stressful experience dealing with DHL of Elizabeth , New Jersey !! read more
