This place is nicely situated near exit 18 and near the outlets for most of the new homeowners in Clarksburg. The only downside is that with that many new people entering the area, the size of this store does not do its justice. It is a rather small place with an odd parking situation. They expect all of the businesses to share such a small and narrow parking line, which is hard to navigate. There have been times when I wanted to drop off an Amazon return quickly, but had to back up and find parking elsewhere. Then, the amount of people can be overbearing sometimes. There has been who-knows how many times I would wait in line and the person in front doesn't know how to package, ship, or understand the cost of overnighting something. When there is only about 1 person working all the time, it is just baffling how this can remain sustainable with such a growing population. It really needs to expand. The location is good, but the size needs to increase. Of course, there are some down times which makes this place convenient. You can go and freely park and enter and finish within minutes. Those are the best, but most of the time, you have to expect you're going to get blindsided by parking, waiting, and figuring out how to leave. As for their other services, such as lock boxes. It is not bad. A bit pricey for it and not really online friendly. I would have liked more notifications of mail coming in - not just packages. read more

This store lost my documents. I stopped at 11 AM to drop deliver my package; however, the label was not created until 5:08 PM the same day. Now, no one is able to provide a location of my package and the manager of the store accepts no accountability. He referred me to the UPS main office for answers which I did not get either after being on the phone for over two hours. At this point, my documents are lost and I cannot reproduce them again. They are not refunding any money associated with the overnight cost paid, or the cost of the items delivered in the package. Use Fedex or other delivery options, please do not use this store. read more

I've been coming to the UPS in Clarksburg since they opened. I have had nothing but WONDERFUL service. The Manager has always been extremely nice & professional & knowledgable. He is always at the store - 6 days a week. He temporarily opened Sundays for the Holidays and today when I went in, it was just him, alone, all day, to add extra hours for his customers, even though he had no extra help. I am surprised by negative reviews, although I shouldn't be, considering I am a retired business owner and know how unreasonable and entitled customers can be. My packages are always totally ready to go...I would never think of showing up to ship something that was not packed & ready to ship. I think it would be rude and inconsiderate NOT to be prepared and hold up other customers waiting their turns. This is a small UPS where they work very hard! This morning, we arrived at the time of the UPS store in Clarksburg at opening (9am) and no one but me, my son and the store owner are in the store, and he refused to assist me with getting a passport picture of my son. He said he needed to open his store and that he doesn't like taking pics of young children. This is a guy/store that I see/go in at least twice a week to drop off packages and I've been nothing but pleasant with him for months! I explain we're pressed to get this picture for a rush passport application and he refused to assist me, for no other reason than that he didn't want to. That is poor customer service man! Instead I had to drive 5 miles down into Germantown to get it done at the CVS Pharmacy and they were amazing, and the same 5 yo this guy fussed about took one pic and was out there with the photo in 5 minutes. It wasn't a difficult ask. Don't worry. I won't be coming back to your store, but every chance I get, I'll share this experience with every resident I can in Clarksburg Maryland. It's too bad that this store has so much negative comments on Yelp. To be fare this store has been around for many years in Clarksburg, every time I went there I experienced superb service. For example, during this past 2019 XMas there was a long line of shippers were queuing to get their services, but I had to drop off an Amazon package prepaid, instead of waiting in the queue, they were gladly took the package with no questions asked, because it made sense. Management made the right decision and at the same time multitasked to see where the needs were and offered them accordingly. I hope this store will around for a long time. We need to support this store, because some time it's much easier to provide negative feed back. Always love our local UPS store! We have had a business mailbox for over a year and we are always greeted warmly by the staff. Staff are very knowledgeable, speedy, and willing to help. I recently placed a printing order and the owner, Padma, kindly called me due to some of the images being cutoff before printing the full order. Excuse me sir, to update you, Converse is Not Amazon. It was dropped and the package never moved in transit so tell me who is at fault?? The package was left with YOU and went missing and never recovered (this is besides Amazon issue which btw I never got reimbursed for the cream which was what I was concerned about as it wasn't showing in my returns and had to call them. I fully understand how it works but the Converse package was lost on YOUR watch no one else is accountable. However it's really revealing your lack of addressing your own rude behavior in how you spoke to me on the phone. I didn't comment at all at the lady's appearance, I said she looked miserable because of YOU working there. Don't mince my words. Your lack of professionalism is clearly showing by this poor response to a customer. Beyond that you literally charged my husband for a piece of TAPE on a another occasion. I needed to get a document notarized, the worker here can only notarize signatures. I would have been pleased with kind customer service and redirection to another UPS location that could offer that service. Unfortunately, I was met with aggression and questioning of my logic of what a notary public is allowed to do. I have always taken my amazon returns to various UPS stores who have always taped my return label on. Never did I have a problem. This store wanted to charge me to put tape on box. I asked could he hand me the tape and I would do it, and he told me to buy my own tape from the shelf and pointed where they were sold. Very odd. The store was mot opened until 9:05 in the morning. Didnt accept my shipment because it had a picture of a wine bottle on it and honestly the box size was like 1/3 of a wine bottle. He lept telling me you cant send wine and i told him its not wine, its just a box with some pictures on ! Finally he asked whats inside and i mentioned small metal particles and he refused to ship it mentioning that its against the policy. Honestly i didnt have more time to waste repeating myself . DONT USE THIS STORE FOR SHIPPING TO A US TERRITORY, THEY WILL POLITELY CHARGE YOU INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING INSTEAD OF DOMESTIC!!!!! On May 16, 2016, I had an encounter with the manager while he was training a new gentleman regarding shipping fees and whether Puerto Rico is international or domestic. I have to say during the whole situation the manager/owner was polite. However, I went to ship a small package to TX he quoted me $ 15 and said it was the least expensive way after I inquired about other ways to ship because I do ship a lot but normally through the USPS. I was confused with this quote because he weighed and measured the package. That package was shipped today via USPS for $10.25. The second package was a large box to Puerto Rico which I was told it was international and would cost $165. Then he said let me check ground service and quoted me $112. That package was shipped today vis USPS for $60.95. I explained to the manager I felt he was charging the wrong fees because Puerto Rico is a US TERRITORY and it should be domestic shipping and not international. After the encounter which I left with my packages I decided to take a chance with the post office once their system was back up. I think there needs to be some training or something for that store. I knew I was being overcharged but how many other customers who didn't know have been taken advantage of by this manager. Something to be aware of... Recently Nikon notified me of a recall of a high-end camera I own. They sent me a UPS mailing label with instructions to drop it off at a UPS location and they would repair it and return it to me. I packaged the camera, printed the UPS label and took it to the "UPS Store" at 23219 Stringtown Road here in Clarksburg. While there I asked for a shipping receipt and the owner scanned the shipping label and printed me one. The next day and the day following I attempted to track the shipment on the UPS.COM website. However, the package wasn't showing up. When I contacted UPS they said the package never entered their system. UPS began an investigation and I was told it that would take up to 8 business days to complete. I called the "UPS Store" and was told they knew nothing of the package. The owner wasn't very friendly and I got the impression he just wanted me off the phone. Another couple of days go by and still the package isn't located. When I called Nikon, the official shipper of the package, they suggested I go and speak with someone there at the "UPS Store." I did and I was very surprised and troubled by what I was told. When I asked the owner, Pahtmal, if he could do a quick search of his store because it appeared that the UPS driver never picked up the package, he refused. He said all UPS packages are picked up every night; no exception. Then he really surprised me when he said he wasn't affiliated with UPS and was not compensated by UPS for accepting packages for them. His position was essentially that he accepted packages for UPS as a courtesy and was not responsible for them. He tried to dismiss me when I told him his store's name implied to the public that he was associated with, and a part of the UPS Company. He said he made his money by people coming in and buying his products, using his services or shipping their packages themselves; not using another company's shipping label. He made no comment when I suggested that the general public and our neighbors in Clarksburg might be apprehensive about knowing this. He clearly was uncomfortable and wanted me to leave--and I did. I guess I have said all that to say this: I'm not accusing anyone of anything. All I know is that I dropped a package off at the local "UPS Store" on Stringtown Road with a legitimate UPS Mailing Label on it and it disappeared that same day. But based upon the owner's admission that he is not really a "UPS Store," my recommendation to my neighbors is to make sure "someone" is accountable for your packages that you ship from this location. As for myself, from now on when I need UPS products or to ship a UPS package I will ensure I take it to an authentic UPS location. I strongly believe that words have meaning; how else do we effectively communicate and do business. Finally in closing, I had my own business (travel agency) in DC for over 20 years. I do not hold the old adage that the customer is always right. However, I do believe the customer is always the customer and I made every attempt to solve issues and disagreements so that the customer wanted to return and do repeat business with my agency. That's not rocket science; it's good business practice. Any successful business owner will tell you they cannot exist with one-time customers. A business's success is directly dependent upon their customers returning time and again. This business did not make me want to return! read more

I would give this 0 stars if I could. I brought in two packages and a man working (not sure if he was the owner or just an employee) both just really bags of clothing returns. One package had a prepaid return label already on it. The other I wanted to send and I had been told should have cost around $2.77 to send. He quoted me 11 dolllars! I said the items is about worth that, he said maybe at the post office but not with UPS ! So I told him that I would take it to the post office. So I said I'd go ahead to send the prepaid UPS label package I folded, I may have needed tape or I may have been able to fold over and use a pre glued strip. Anyway, I am not sure how we were going to close it but it could have taken maybe 3 seconds to do. He goes to shut the package and says, "Well, you owe me a dollar." I shockingly asked, "For what? It is prepaid." He said "packing services." I asked "What packing services?? You are folding over a piece of plastic and taping it. It may have the tape on it." He arguingly told me they charge everyone for that. I was getting very angry because I felt nickel and dimed, as the express store in Urbana is a always sweet and has great customer service. They have a big roll of tape and if you need a 5 inch piece of tape you jut use it. After all it is of course..... a packaging shipping store. I picked up both bags threw them in my purse, and told him "You are loosing a customer over ONE DOLLAR! Do you really want to do that?" (chance 1 of about 5 to make it right withe me) . He said "We charge everyone that." I told him it was ridiculous, he had horrible customer service, that I had lived in the area since 2005 and couldn't believe how he made me feel as a customer. His customer service was 0%. As I was walking out the door I was giving him the what for. I also have a broken foot, there was no parking in the parking lot or any handicap parking anywhere. I had to park all the way at the end and schlep it all in. Could he have given me a break and put a piece of tape simply on my plastic envelope- yes. As I was fussing on my way out he said "ok, you bring to me and I do it for you." He had many attempts to make it better and chose not to until I was walking out the door. After he offered me "to do for me for free" I had a few choice words and a finger for him, and told him I was going to yelp about my experience. What a waste of a business. I drove up to the priority express shop in Urbana sent both packages easy peasy and told them about my experience in Clarksburg. They were shocked. And let me use a 5 inch piece of tape for free. I received terrible service (if you want to call it service) at the Clarksburg UPS. A brief overview of the entire situation was that I came to pick up the order. To which Padam cut me off & told me no one mentioned me picking up for box 310. I then mentioned that I knew that my partner spoke with a young Caucasian woman because the associate told her what she looked like for me to easily pick up the package to which Padam shrugged his shoulders as if he didn't know who I was speaking of. I then asked if there was in fact someone that met the description that worked that morning. To which he started to speak over me & said yes, but that it didn't matter because he wasn't told about the pick up and then he starting helping the person behind me while I was attempting to ask more questions about how I could go about picking up the packages that I drove out of my way for. I then proceeded to call my partner and ask for her to call and speak with him...once he saw me doing that he then yelled "what are you doing?!" to which I said that I was calling my partner for her to call him and he said "No! I will call her!" (Which I thought was interesting seeing how he never offered to do so to help me pick up the order). However at this point my partner had already called the store. He was extremely nice to her on the phone and then asked for my identification to pick up the packages. While getting the packages I mentioned that I myself work in the service industry and that while I understand security procedures this was the second time that I had been in to pick up for my partner where I felt like he didn't want to assist me & he over spoke me and spoke down to me even. To which he responded "You're not the customer!". Oh and the cherry on top was when I asked for a business card and his name (I actually already heard his name from when he answered my partners phone call...he said it in his greeting) and he responded hostilely "What do you name for?!" I then asked "Are you refusing your name?" to which he responded louder "What do you need my name for?". He eventually gave his name and spelling after I repeatedly asked him was he refusing to give me his name. Mind you this is the short version of the many disrespectful things that were said to me during the time I came to simply pick up a package. Up until my interactions with Padam, I have always loved utilizing the services of UPS and always had great experiences however, after this I mentioned to my partner that she should no longer keep her services with UPS or at the very least that location. read more

He refused to supply me with a UPS envelope (this is a UPS store, right?) told me that whomever e mailed the label should have provided one-I said "it was emailed, how would they provide one". He then said I could buy an envelope to mail! He wasn't going to make the money from the preprinted envelope, I'm assuming, so didn't wanted to help with the shipment. Today we got a package that was delivered to the wrong address...it was not intended for us. My mother saw the label and thought that it was delivered by UPS...when in reality it was USPS. When she got to the UPS store to sort out the problem, the man at the counter was incredibly rude to her. He raised his voice and called her a terrorist for bringing the foreign USPS package to the UPS store and SHOVED...yes, shoved the package off of the counter onto the ground. He then told her to throw it out. Since the package is not ours, I have no idea if there was anything fragile broken by this man's actions. This is not okay....this is violent behavior.
