Each time the customer service staff was incredibly rude and made me feel both unwelcomed and like an inconvenience to them, especially when all of my shipping orders have been around $100, which is good business for the store. If I could give this place, and this manager, PAUL BARRY, LESS than 1 star, I would. I live in Florida, and bought a very rare glass sculpture from an auction held in Chicago. Obviously, I could not pack and ship the item myself, so I paid his store to do it. I asked them at least times to insure the package for $2,000 (less than 1/5 of the retail price, actually) but when it arrived improperly packed and broken beyond repair, I find out that the store had only put $800 insurance on it. Apparently, they "forgot" what I told them, and instead of calling me to double-check, they only insured it for the hammer price, despite the fact that I already had it pre-sold for $2K to a client who desperately wanted one. I had no way of knowing this, because they also FAILED TO SEND ME A RECEIPT for my over-the-phone credit card payment, so I had no list of the itemized charges. If I had that, I could have caught the error in time. Now, UPS will not pay the other $1,200, and the store manager PAUL BARRY, will also NOT own up to their mistake, no doubt because it would have to come out of his own pocket. UPS will flatly NOT pay over the Declared Value of a package, and when a store makes a mistake, its up to the individual store owners whether or not to make it right. PAUL BARRY is a liar, and you should NOT use this UPS location for your packing or shipping needs. read more

This place is a rip off. Wanted to charge me 3.95 just to print a shipping label off my phone because they don't have a wireless printer/copier. Went to Staples and did the same thing for 15 cents. I understand everyone needs to make money but come on! That doesn't give you the right to charge 30 times more than the next guy!! Another example of continued professionalism: Alex has been incredibly helpful and responsive on helping me find out what happened to a mis-delivery by Amazon logistics. Amazon still has a lot to work out in managing the massive volume of deliveries they make. The fact that they (unlike UPS) don't require a sign-off by the recipient means that a rushed delivery person can do a drop-off at wrong location. So, what Alex helped me sort out today: Amazon, according to a Zappos customer service rep, delivered my Zappos purchase to a residence (not the UPS Store). Thank you, Alex! read more

Avoid this store if you actually want your package to reach its final destination!! I brought a package into this store over a month ago. It was a birthday gift valued at about $200 and I paid extra to get it delivered with three days. I was given a tracking number and a label was made. When tracking the package two days later, I found out the package never left the store! What?! When I called the store, they claimed it left their store ("because all packages leave our store") but "UPS must have lost it". The package never left the store. Anyway, I now had to submit a claim and I was told I would get refunded within 10-14 days. Well it's been way past 10-14 days and I am STILL waiting on my refund. The UPS store manager claims UPS is the hold up and won't give him any updates. I can clearly see by tracking the package that UPS already issued my claim! I also called UPS (from a number I found on ups.com - not rocket science) and was told UPS already was sent my refund check to the UPS store and the store should have refunded me by now. Insane!! The UPS store is still claiming that there is no check yet and UPS won't give them an update. How did I get more information than the manager?! Obviously someone is either lying to me or not doing their job.This store owes me a refund ASAP. I will never trust them with anything ever again. If you want your package actually delivered, go somewhere else!! read more

I live at 730 S Clark and ship several packages a week and thus far has been very happy with the service until today. I believe there may have been a change in staff or management because the gentlemen who was working the store tonight needs some customer service tips. Very rude and put off that I was dropping off packages. It was 6:01(real time) and the store does close at 6:00 but that doesnt justify poor behavior. Its to bad really since the store is so close to my place but I'll have to ship from somewhere else from now on. Do yourself a favor and avoid this store. read more

I love this UPS store. Every time I go the gentlemen who work there are super friendly, helpful and competent. I made the mistake of leaving a pair of mittens there and I called them and they held them for me through the weekend until I was able to come pick them up. So nice of them. AVOID THIS UPS STORE- I was in this morning to drop of a return. I made the mistake of asking for a Drop-Off Package Receipt. (Something they easily provided on my last visit, just a few weeks ago). I was met with an unprepared, argumentative, "Assistant Manager". I would have thought that someone in that position would have some customer service skills. He proceeded to tell me how that wasn't his regular store and he didn't have the password for the iShip program. He proceeded to argue with me, saying it wasn't a receipt anyway (says receipt on it), since I wasn't paying them... I assured him that I had paid Overstock.com for the receipt and I felt certain that they (UPS) would be paid by them. He then went on to further explain that I (the customer) was wrong, and that UPS stores were individually owned and operated.... I eventually got my receipt... and now vow to do future business in the neighborhood with FedEx NOT the UPS Store. read more

Tried calling the store several times to get a tracking number for a package I shipped from there. Was on hold for 10 minutes on 3 separate occasions and failed to get an actual human on the phone even once. Followed up with an email. Again, no response. Apparently it's impossible to contact anyone from this location. read more
