I am so pleased with the service I received yesterday from this UPS location. I had to package up 24 glass bottles of Topo Chico water to take with me on a plane and spotted this location en route to the airport. The very kind young men who helped me, Sam & Abel, convinced me that some serious bubble wrap was in order. I thought they were way overdoing it, but I was wrong. Despite the numerous bright orange FRAGILE stickers they placed on my boxes, upon arrival at the airport in California, the boxes were totally beat to death, even with some holes. I guess the Southwest baggage handlers don't pay attention to the stickers! Every bottle arrived intact, encased in their cushy bubble wrap blankets. Many thanks for knowing what's really needed to ship something! It's also nice to see young staff with such professional and friendly manners. While my packages were being wrapped, the other staff politely helped each customer. Everyone was smiling. I will be back the next time I need something shipped from Austin. read more

I figured out FedEx will ship stuff WAY cheaper if you just go online and create a FedEx account, which takes two minutes and is completely free. I also figured out EcoBox sells all kinds of bubble wrap, peanuts, boxes and also gives free advice on how to pack up fragile items for shipping. They'll also weigh your package for you so when you ship it via your free online FedEx account, you'll know exactly how much to tell FedEx your package weighs. The reason I figured all of this out is b/c I paid this UPS store $90 to pack & ship a fragile item for me. They say they guarantee it will arrive in one piece and if it doesn't they refund your money. But of course it arrived in a million pieces and of course, the owner of the store found a way to not refund me. So guess what? I took matters into my own hands and took back my power as a consumer and now I'm telling you. You don't have to pay this UPS store a million dollars to mistreat you and break your stuff and then lie to you about a refund policy. You can ship your stuff safely for way cheaper. I don't even get spam emails from my FedEx account. read more

This UPS store has awesome customer service! There is always plenty of staff too so there is never a long wait. I come in frequently to drop off packages and mail things for my business. I appreciate that even if they are busy helping other customers they always greet me and tell me to put my boxes on the counter or offer help with them. I know this seems small but you would be surprised how many places will watch you struggle with boxes without offering any help. I also frequently see the staff helping people to their cars and holding the door too. Today I was helped by Cornelius and he could not have been more helpful and nice. It's really refreshing to interact with someone that seems genuinely happy to be at work. PS - This location also ships USPS, so it's not just UPS! read more

The way that this store handles their customer service is unprofessional and the customer satisfaction does NOT seem to be their first priority. I signed up for an online account specific to this local store, so that I could submit about 65 documents to be printed. Upon signing up for my account, I received a 15% off 'welcome' coupon to be used for my first order. A couple days later I received a 30% off coupon as enticement to place an order I had left unfinished in my account 'cart'. I also noticed on this individual store's printing services website, there is a 25% off discount on copies advertised as a 'grand opening' sale. After uploading and formatting my first order online, I tried entering the discount codes I had received. Neither worked. There was not a 25% 'grand opening' discount applied to my order either. I called the store to find out what was going on. They said they do not honor ANY of the promos I had received. They told me those are from 'UPS corporate' with whom they apparently are not affiliated. They also told me that their website doesn't currently even allow orders to be processed, due to website problems, so I wouldn't have been able to submit it online had I gotten through to the checkout process. They said I would have to come in to make my copies, and they would not be honoring any discounts. I went into the store to make my copies. I was told I would need to use one of their computers to upload my files for printing. After making all my copies, I saw on my receipt that I was charged a 'Computer Rental' fee. Not only was I unable to take advantage of ANY of the promos advertised by UPS while actually at a UPS Store, but I was also not able to use their online services and was CHARGED EXTRA to come in and do all of my uploading in person. Based on my interaction with the staff at this store, I am almost certain that if someone actually reads this they will still have an excuse why this is not their fault, and will not offer to make this right. Sent a birthday package to my mother. Ups told them that It was damaged in transit and would not be delivered and had to be returned to sender, and that the shipping store (This one would be in contact with me) I never received any word about this, I had to find out through my mothers local UPS store. I then tried to get a refund for the shipping cost because the package was never delivered nor attempted to be delivered (My whole family was home all day the package was to be delivered, no knock on door, no note nothing, just an update on my fathers UPS app that the package could not be delivered). Store refuses to provide a refund because "technically it was shipped" was their response, even though as soon as it got to the destination city it was returned back to austin. Will not be giving UPS anymore. "What can brown do for you?", update not shit and still charge you for nothing. Give me my shipping cost back. read more

The only UPS store I go to and it's because of how helpful the staff is. They're extremely helpful, quick, and friendly. I don't like running errands/lines etc, but whenever I need to go to UPS, I know it'll be easy and quick. Seriously, the two store associates that typically help me out (I genuinely wish I remembered their names) are the best. I've had the same PO box at this UPS store location for 2 years, now. For the price, you cannot beat it in Austin. More than that, I'm appreciative that the staff has always been awesome. They treat me like family and have always gone above and beyond with their service. I know that I'm not always the best customer, especially, after a long day of work. This location will not ship your package if you are using an existing UPS account number. Why put the UPS name on the business if you reject their packages? I've never had a problem with using a FedEx account number at a FedEx Kinko's. I'm sure this location would make money selling additional items to customers who came in for drop offs. Poor business decision for UPS to allow this and poor decision for this franchise owner. I'll keep going to USPS and FedEx from now on. read more

Helped by Jacquetta. Went in to drop off the broken DVR for return as per instructions from my cable provider. Everyone seemed efficient, busy but still pleasant. Jacquetta maintained a calm business like helpful attitude despite my concerns about trusting them with the untrustworthy cable company's machine to package and ship. She gave me a confirmation # and said keep it for 6 months because the cable company can take that long to process so I guess she's been through the process before. I was fourth in line but their work ethic meant that I got out of there quickly. This shop is small so does not have as many machines and products for sale on the floor like some UPS offices. It does have lots of mailboxes and solid good attitudes. Funky to get to because it is in a shopping center on the SE corner of S Congress and Oltorf. It's located behind a bank on one side and fast food on the Oltorf side. You would not see from the street. I suggest that you follow google maps. I give 4 stars for hard working with good attitude despite their pace. I'd give 5 but parking and lack of supplies means I can't use this location as often as others. read more

I went to this store to ship a return package of some expensive cycling jerseys. They ended up charging me to ship my package through USPS (through their store... didn't know they did that), but the postal service NEVER RECEIVED MY PACKAGE. USPS tracking shows "label printed, package not received," and UPS store has told me to pack sand and deal with USPS. I am extremely disappointed with UPS and this store for a TOTAL LACK of customer support. read more

I felt ripped off and really over charged. Won't be mailing things from here again. FedEx is the way to go for me from now on. Plus the charged my credit card twice and refunded some money and yet it's all tied up until they can get there bank stuff figured out. After over a year of renting a mailbox from this location I can honestly say this is my favorite UPS in Austin...and probably anywhere. All of the employees are ridiculously friendly and helpful all of the time - you just have to treat them like fellow human beings and not punching bags for your "long day" frustrations. There have been countless occasions when the guy employees helped me load heavy boxes in or out of my car without me having to ask (as a rather petite girl I really appreciate it seeing as how they definitely do NOT have to). This location gets really busy, and yet I have seen the employees not only go about their day with smiles on their faces but they're on a first name basis with tons of regular customers, myself included. I ship a LOT, and it's exhausting and tedious to lug boxes around all day but these folks genuinely make it enjoyable for me. Thank you Forrest, Abel, Sam and Jahliese, you guys rock!! read more

Just left...my visit was less than 4 minutes, but bad customer service last forever!!! Tall guy with the pale skin behind the counter, here's a tip..when a customer comes in and says, "hello," the thing you don't do is stand with your mouth shut, blank staring at me like I just walked into your livingroom interrupting your Olympic binge-a-thon! A customer should never feel like a dentist...pulling for info. The price of shipping my package didn't turn me away, your "I should have called out today" dry delivery and overall tainted energy turned my "yes" into a "no" long before you told me the cost.
