Following a conference, I joined the line with approximately 15 other people. One gentleman was taking care of customers and we all just stood in line waiting. When additional help finally arrived, she took customers from the back of the line instead of taking care of customers in the order that they had entered. Then, after waiting in line for nearly an hour to hand over 3 prepaid packages, I was charged $55 for staff taking the packages over the counter. This seems exorbitant. Terrible service. I would have been better off taking my packages in an Uber to any other location. read more

I don't typically write reviews, but this was a special situation. On the morning I was flying out of Austin, I made the mistake of leaving my work phone in an Uber. Thankfully, the wonderful employees at this UPS -- Lachey and Mav -- turned a stressful situation into a smooth, easy experience. They guided me through the necessary steps and ensured all my needs were met, removing the stress of handling this remotely while I was already in California. Customer service is terrible. I needed to an exchange a box that I purchased there that was too small when I brought it into exchange it for a box that would fit what I needed. They wouldn't take the old box back because I didn't have a receipt even though they had 15 of the same box with the same price tag on it, sitting on the shelf. Wow wait to be pro customer. I wouldn't recommend using this UPS if your dropping off a pre paid package. I had an amazon return and they wanted to charge me a fee based on the weight of the package even though it was pre paid. It makes no sense whatsoever to be charged a fee for a package that is pre paid. I won't use this location. read more

Came by on a Sunday to ship our equipment back to New York after a national competition. 6 boxes. Was required to pay an extra $50 per box for some sort of handling fee. I understand that we were paying for the convenience of a Sunday store, as well as the usual hotel fee nonsense, but it's disappointing when it meant that we had to pay $300 all together to ship some stuff out on top of the usual shipping costs. There was a previous review here that explained that the cost was to cover the labor and such, but $300 to carry and hold 6 boxes? I'm sure that the owner will respond and then say "well, we are the only UPS store open on Sunday, etc" but had we known that this place would have charged such fees we would have not brought everything in a hired car over and waited until Monday. I would have rather had this store say CLOSED and dealt with it the next day instead of moving the boxes into a hired car, heading to the store, unloading them, then told we either had to pay or repeat the whole process to take it back to the venue. I warn people not to come here on a Sunday unless they want to pay an extravagant amount to send packages out. Actually I would recommend to people if they were here on a Sunday to wait until Monday and find some place that does not charge extra. read more

Don't use this store to ship your items! Actually, don't even use UPS, go straight to FED EX. I fully regret not reading all these 1 star reviews before sending anything via this store. I had some artwork/pictures I needed to ship. While filling out the forms, I was being distracted by the immature employees either with conversation or by the very narrow box they intended to ship my pictures in. I asked if that was secure enough and told them that these artworks are very, very dear to me and need to arrive in perfect condition. Of course, they told me that they ship art all the time and my items will arrive safely. Well, upon arrival, the artworks were severely damaged. I had to pay to have them repaired, and also re-matted. The repair unfortunately was not enough to make the pictures look nearly as great as they were, once an artwork is bent in half those lines just never go away. The claims process was a nightmare. It took weeks, and in the end UPS did not refund me the full cost of the repair and re-matting. What a scam! Maybe had I not been so distracted and stressed out with their immature and unprofessional employees while filling out the form, I wouldn't be in this situation. This experience was a nightmare, and I will never use UPS again. Never. And i'm going to cancel my business account with them right now too. read more

These guys make my life so much easier. I have a box at this location, ship, pack and even do printing on a large scale here. They have a notary on site and have vast knowledge of the area and best shipping practices. When a package comes in you immediately receive an email of its arrival most times before the carrier. Have a problem or need something? Call the number and a real person answers and is happy to help. I can't speak to previous management or staff but I know this team is fantastic. They are the convention ups store so the volume is unreal, I do believe ups adds a small fee for certain packages but call to confirm. Look if you in the hotel or want a place for secure mail packing and shipping, this is your location. Any small fee imposed is far outweighed by the quality of work, friendliness of the team and convenience of service. read more

I was just charged $19 for dropping off 3 UPS PREPAID shipping boxes. I packaged them, taped them, labeled them, and already paid for my labels on UPS.com.. I've been dropping off packages at UPS stores for over a decade and this is the first time I've ever been charged a fee for dropping off my packages.I will gladly be reporting this store and its franchise owner to UPS corporate for this shady practice. It clearly states on the UPS website that dropping of a Prepaid UPS package at any UPS store will not be charged a fee. Again, no action was done by the store employee whatsoever. I packed it, taped it, labeled it myself prior to going into the store. All he did was scan the package and swipe my credit card for $19.. Thanks! read more

This location does not have reliable notary services. They list a few hours per day, but the store manager wasn't actually there during notary hours. Go elsewhere if you need a notary! Note - the employee we spoke with was very friendly and helpful nonetheless. read more

They charge a fee just for leaving prepaid packages with them, and proudly claim to be the only UPS in all of Central Texas open on Sundays. Almost every fedex location in Austin is open all day Sunday. read more

This might be the worst experience I've ever had at a printing/shipping store. The other reviews are correct, this store is filled with employees who don't know how to use any of the equipment. They were confused how to turn on the printer (that took 2 hours to problem shoot) then they couldn't figure out how to print a double sided document. When I tried to suggest the section of the printer dialog box where the option was, the employees told me he didn't have time for another click and that I'd have to come back another time. It was infuriating. I would have taken one additional minute to fix the issue. Go to FedEX Kinkos, they are competent and friendly. read more

Walked in just to drop off some returns to Amazon, that had pre-paid labels (which I have done several times without a problem). But this time the attendant asked if I was a resident of Travis county. I said No and was told there was a fee I had to pay for to use this store to send my packages! What?! These guys are liars and cheats. We shipped a trade show booth to Austin from Madison, WI. The UPS store here in Madison charged $115 to ship the booth. THIS STORE charges $310. For some reason the shipping was $190 instead of $115 and they charged a $120 service fee. I would stay away from this store they will rip you off. read more

No way you would spot this store from the street - it's inside the lobby of the Hilton. The reason I went to this location is that it seems to be the only Austin location that's open on Sunday, and I was anxious to send back some shoes to Piperlime. One of the great things about Piperlime is that they include a pre-paid UPS label in the original box, so all you have to do is affix the label and drop it off at the store...or that's how it's supposed to work. I feel like my irritation was justified when the unctuous clerk in this store informed me there was a $5 "drop-off fee" at this particular location. I made sure to restate the fact that the box already had a pre-paid label, but there was no confusion there. When I said I would take it to another location, he muttered something about the other locations having a similar fee. Oddly enough, I had no problems dropping the box off at the UPS store on Lamar and 38th, and the pre-paid label seemed adequate to the staff there. I can understand needing to charge an extra fee if it were a UPS service provided by Hilton and not a branded UPS store; as it is, I won't waste my time in this location in the future. Why would they need to charge that fee? If you're a traveler staying at the hotel, would you have brought your pre-paid purchases with you on your trip to return from your hotel?? read more

It is like senior spring in this store. I have been in several times, and the employees always have such blasé attitudes- as if my presence in their store is an inconvenience. Sometimes I can hear multiple employees in the back just chatting as one employee out front helps a huge line of customers. Today, I went in to buy a specific office supply that they normally have, but didn't see in their display. I asked the employee if they had it. He asks, "It it over there?" (If it was in the thing I just looked through, why would I be asking him?) When I told him it wasn't, he said, "Then we probably don't have it." Um probably? Could you go check the stock room or something? Apparently not. I'm not writing this review about that experience, however. It's about all of them. It's always a frustrating experience in this store that makes me never want to use UPS again. read more

I go to this store because I live in the neighborhood. I don't know how this bunch operates, but it is questionable. Service and attitude horrible. This store will surcharge you for walking in the door. The manager is rude, condescending, not bright, & makes up the rules as he goes along. I asked for a price comparison to mail a letter. Within 5 seconds, he quoted me 3-4 prices from around $5.00 to $20.00. When I said I would just send my standard USPS mail, no special services, he wanted to surcharge me for accepting a letter with my stamp on it! On another occasion, an employee refused to give me the USPS cost of mailing a package weighing just over 0.7 oz. He would only quote me the price with their surcharge. Is this legal since they are represented as a post office? I should be able to get a package weighed, place the correct postage on it, and drop it in a mail drop if I can't leave it with them. How can they legally place a surcharge on a government service? On another occasion, the manager riffled through several pieces of mail simply to see who the addressee was -an invasion of privacy. read more

We needed a notary to transfer our car title to our friends to whom we were giving it to. Our friends & the car are in North Carolina. So bear in mind we had to mail the title each time. We first went to the UPS store on Brazos street, and they made a mistake, they were very apologetic and didn't charge me for the notarization. DMV in NC rejected it, took it back to Brazos UPS to be correctly notarized. They misspelled my last name, so DMV rejected it again. Went back to Brazos st but it was closed so came to this one in the Hilton. Worker (not manager) notarized it for me, but I recognized he was making the same mistake the first notary made--he said "No, that's right" I said, "I'm pretty sure it's not" he said, "Oh no, I'm not allowed to write your name there...it's against TX notary policy." He was mistaken. I finally took it to our bank (Wells Fargo) and they said, "yea, that's wrong" and they notarized it correctly and free of charge. In addition, at UPS I said, "we've been having to mail this back and forth to our friends three times now because of all the mistakes you guys have made, I'd like for you guys to expedite this for free due to all the mistakes you've made" He said, "Oh, I can't do that." This is poor customer service and they mis-notarized our document three times by three different employees. I won't be taking my business to UPS unless I have to mail something pre-labeled. read more

I have had a package in "transit" for the past month which is sitting in one of their store rooms. I am a patient person but this is beyond ridiculous. I have called and called and i get the same story every time that "It should make it out tomorrow..". The date keeps getting pushed back day after day after day. To make matters even more silly, I see a delivery truck in the area every single day. My package weighs less than a pound. You cannot tell me that there isn't room on one of those trucks to deliver it. I will never use UPS for the rest of my life. Save yourself the heartbreak and just take your business somewhere else. read more
