So glad I found this spot as a UPS drop off. Learned that some Amazon returns can't be taken to an Amazon drop off center. This location is in Tarrytown so you don't have to drive into the city or westlake to send your package. The employee was super helpful and had a box that fit my package perfectly. They helped me at a time when I was in great need with lots of continual arduous paperwork and no printer. I tried to ship a dollhouse on Ebay. Pete quoted me for the boxes-30 dollars, plus peanuts, and tape. I came in with a prepaid UPS mailer. I asked specifically to make the box 36x24x24 as to make sure if fit the specs on what I'd paid for. Pete called me with after it was packed and said it would be 87 dollars. I asked for an itemized bill, and he said he charged for his labor. I told him he did not tell me there would be labor costs associated. I told him I wish I'd known up front. He said,"What? Do you expect me to work for free." When I went into pay for the package, I asked to see the package. It was larger than I requested, so I now I will have to pay for a package larger than the prepaid label. The original size of my package was 30x20x20. He put it in a box 38x24x24, so UPS will charge me for the overage. In the end not only do I not earn a profit on the sale. This sale is going to cost me more money than I was paid for it. Be very careful with this place if you are on a budget or trying to ship things on Ebay. read more

Stumbled into their office a few weeks ago when trying to mail something abroad. They were able to let me know all the available prices and timelines through the various carriers. The package arrived in 2 days, at less than half the cost it would have been through UPS. AND they were all very nice and helpful. Will definitely go back. read more

Needed a notary during Covid and called and asked them what precautions they were taking with notary service. Peter, the employee who answered the phone, replied, "none" - no precautions! I followed up with an email and got a curt reply from Peter telling me that if I didn't like this then I could go elsewhere. Nice to know they don't give a damn about my safety or their notary's safety. I've been a customer for years, using them for shipping, copying, notary service etc. but no more. I used a mobile notary service instead and they took plenty of precautions. I have a package to ship now and I will not be using Pakmail again - now or in the future. read more

Larry from PakMail called me back today, Monday, December 21. I do realize this is not necessarily PakMails fault other than not returning my call sooner. It's Christmas and delivery of Covid so shipments are not necessarily going to arrive when promised. I hate to say this but I'll probably use the post office next time I overnight. Larry offered to give me a refund but I am happy with a credit of 2 day delivery charge instead of overnight. All is good. Happy holidays . read more

I was super impressed with the customer service at Pak Mail and will come back again! I was offered the best rate and assurance that my items would be wrapped up nicely. There was no line- I went in at 5:15 p.m. and was out in no time which was a huge time savings to me since I would have waited in a long line this time of year at the post office. I also had an additional international package and the manager was very honest with me about all of my options with that one, and ultimately we both decided it was probably not worth it to send the item at all b/c it would be too expensive- I'll just wait until the recipient returns to the US. You could tell he genuinely cared rather then just trying to sell me on the shipping - that makes me want to come back and use this location every time I need to send something! read more

Absolute rip-off! I went in to mail a overnight letter. The prices they quote for me for DHL, Fedex and USPS seemed kind of high and so I walked over across the parking lot to the local USPS office. Pak Mail was quoting me 2X the prices. The folks a the post office told me that most people don't realize that Pak Mail over charges you by 100% margin on most mail items. The only reason to use these guys is if you need someone to package your stuff. Even then, you are better off dealing directly with USPS, DHL, UPS or the FedEx after they pack your stuff for you. You will save a lot that way. read more

If you are lucky enough to get your mail here, Louis and his guys go way out of their way and even will tell me over the phone if i call and check for important mail when i am stuck working out of town. I alos have used them to ship insanely odd shaped items and that always arrive in great shape. Well worth any costs above and beyond the USPS experience. I'm not so sure about the other haters, but I love this place. I come here to mail packages for my clients regularly and I always get the best possible service. Even when there's a waiting line, the guys here are pretty friendly about letting me know they'll be with me in a minute. There was an instance where I couldn't provide the EXACT address that I needed my package returned to and rather than just mailing it to one of the return addresses they had logged for that particular company (which another company has done before), the guy was honest and upfront about my return location not being guaranteed, so advised against it. The clerk charged me .50/page for a black and white document. At most copy centers the cost is between .08 and .13/page. Pak Mail never made this right. Apparently the clerks charge whatever they feel like charging. Maybe they pocket the difference. read more

Friendly, Courteous, and Well Equipped. If they can not help, they gladly send you to UPS next door. Prices are a little high for our box, but security of our boxes is a plus compared to our apartment mailbox system which lost over $1,000 dollars of merchadise. read more

The staff is polite and pleasant. They're knowledgeable, until you want to know what, for instance, the UPS Overnight shipping rate is to a certain zip code for your package. Then they suddenly become vague and evasive. They will give you the rate, which is almost TWICE what UPS Overnight actually charges (it turns out). And when you ask if they know how much more their charge is than UPS Overnight's charge, they say, "Well, that's the rate that shows up [on their register]", as if they don't know the answer to your question. It's Pretend Time, evidently. So, they get negative points for their shiftiness and gaslighting. And A- for politeness, which is NOT worth the inflated price of admission. Thanks anyway. The package did arrive on time, by the way. So they're competent at that. I won't go back though. Someone's honest, or they're dishonest. No inbetween, no matter how nice they appear to be. Cunning salesmanship is no substitute for good service. Check 'your odometer' when you come to Tarrytown Pak-Mail. read more

In regards to Kristi H's review. I feel like she is completely out of line. I was actually in the store when she was there. The manager was assisting a customer with some copies when she barges in and interrupts him and his customer to very rudely complain that there was a post office across the shopping center. There were several people in the store and this was incredibly awkward for all of us and especially the employees. Were they supposed to send her away when she came and requested their service? This situation is akin to someone going to a Starbucks and then returning to yell at the employees for not telling her there was a 7-11 across the street with cheaper coffee. She also made a big point about being new to the neighborhood...As if the Pak Mail employees are mind readers. Unfortunately there are just some people out there that just love to complain and put others down. I think the Pak Mail employees are lucky that she won't return. I have used Pak Mail in Tarrytown for shipping needs from time to time...and yes while the cost is higher than going to the post office, you get friendlier service and the assurance that your items will be packed and shipped safely. DON't GO HERE. My husband and I were on our way into campus and needed to drop an Amazon package. I brought the small package into this store and noticed the place was empty unlike a nearby UPS Store that has 5-6 people in line each time I go. I handed my package to the man and he asked if I had a dollar. I had left my purse in the car and said, no, it's an Amazon package. He replies that they charge $1.00 for tape as he put a small strip of tape on my 4"x6" package. He said that he would give me a free pass and that I could go. I replied that I needed a tracking #. He stated that they don't give tracking #s. I left very frustrated and amazed that a company with such a rude, abusive approach to customers could be in business. Watch out when using Pak Mail at least at this location - if you are dropping off a shipment (ex. you printed our your prepaid shipping label at home/office), BE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU HAVE THEM GIVE YOU A RECEIPT THAT TELLS YOU THAT THEY RECEIVED IT. If you don't and UPS or FEDEX for whatever reason do not scan it into their system, you are screwed - lost package - and Pak Mail takes no ownership. I learned the hard way and hope others do not follow me down this path. read more

Being new to the area I ran into Pak Mail as it is right by my house. Tried to send a usps priority envelope which they somehow made into a confusing process. I said "I would have run to the actual post office but y'all are just so close to my house." Finally they figured out everything that is really a straight forward process. Was of course charged overage since it wasn't an actual usps and was fine w that to save the time. Walked out the door only to see a usps across the way as I drove out. Seriously? Why did they not just tell me to go across the street. Yes I should have looked but was in a hurry and didn't know the area well yet. Very rude of the workers in my opinion. I will never go back even if I am not shipping usps. read more
