The most unprofessional place ever. I belong to the UPS Store in Downtown (Lavaca) and this place isn't even on the same playing field - do not go to this location. I was clear in what I needed (quote and dates) and explained that I was in the system as part of another store, so my info would make things easier. Brian who was behind the counter was RUDE. First got annoyed because I was multi-tasking but was listening, then told me to get off my cell although he wouldn't address the questions I originally asked when I got in. Ended up tossing my receipt at me and not addressing the other two letters I needed to send. Go elsewhere.. For $29 (or 6x what USPS would charge for delivery) I think they need to provide a better service. read more

Had a bad first experience with this place. We took our AT&T equipment in to get shipped back to them since we got Google fiber. To be fair, they were helpful with the equipment we were sending back because they recommended that we keep the receipt because AT&T is know to screw up and still bill you for equipment even after you return the stuff. That was a nice gesture, and typical of AT&T... Our problem with this place was the manager's attitude. Me and three other people walked in the door around the same time (6pm), 3 of us had AT&T routers to return and another with a prepacked and labeled package to send. As the line backed up, the manager was hustling around and had the nerve to say "come on guys, not on tax day!" as he was annoyed at the current volume of business... Uhhhh, no buddy. That is not how this works. First, the UPS store closes at 7pm, there is an hour left for you to serve your patrons. If you don't like the AT&T returns, take it up with them, even though they are sending you a constant stream of income. Do your freakin job and don't complain about it, or quit. Douche. read more

These people have zero sense of urgency. Everything is done at a snails pace. It is infuriating. They should dedicate one person for returns and preprinted/prepaid packages... and not make everyone stand in the same line (always out the door) waiting for indecisive customers who don't know what tf they want and need every option under the sun described to them in detail. read more

This is the closest UPS store to my house and it's the worst in town! The main guy/ owner is consistently grumpy, occasionally offensive and just generally an unpleasant person to deal with. Everyone else there is nice and helpful, but that doesn't really make it better. Beware, especially women. I think he thinks we're all idiots. Look back at past reviews. Tried to print some flyers here, called to ask if I could just email the file over and the guy wouldn't even speak to me over the phone. I asked if I could email it and he responded with a "yes" but before I could even get the email address he hung up on me. Then I found the email address online, sent my file, never got a response so I called to see if he got the email about two hours later and he answered again with a very brief response that a proof was ready. Went to look that day, print didn't look great (my mistake though) so I fixed the file and emailed it again asking for a response when the order was ready (told them no proof necessary on this file). It's a few days later and never heard from them so I sent my boss there to pick up the 30 flyers... He got there and no one had any idea what flyers he was trying to pick up. Then they finally figured it out and told us their color printer was down so they were never printed! Not mad about a printer being down but geez these guys need to work on their communication and customer service skills! Ended up using a Staples down the road and had no problems at all. read more

I had a solid experience here. I came in looking to mail back 2 of my army duffel bags and the guy told me there's a $15 handling fee for each bag if I wanted shipped like that or they could box it for me and charge me just for the box. They did this and only charged me about $10 for the box then shipped it! Pretty awesome treatment. They really hooked me up so I was pretty happy. read more

I've always had great service here. There's a lot of people coming in and out of the store every day, and it's a lot for them to handle but overall it's pretty good. I have a mailbox with them as well and it's very friendly service, and very convenient overall. Like any locally owned franchise there might be quirks here and there, but they try a lot harder than say...the post office. read more

I went here today [I am ashamed to admit I've never gone into a facility to mail a letter], and asked if they could mail a letter certified... the clerk stood there and shrugged his shoulders, so i awkwardly stood there as a clerk stood with his arms crossed and waited for the older gentleman to help me. He motioned me to his register and when I told him I wanted to send the letter certified, he had the nerve to say "this isn't a post office, put a stamp on it and just drop it in a mailbox, it's just a letter." Unfortunately I was on a time crunch and new to the area, so I politely explained they were important documents, and they need to be certified. They rang me up and sent me on my way. I've been using the services of this UPS store for over 10 years. I've never encountered the rude service mentioned by the other two Yelpers. Yes, I've witnessed the confusion that people have when the walk in and think the store is owned by UPS. It's not - it is owned by a couple who work there every day to make ends meet. Even during the Christmas rush - when there are often lines of people shipping packages - they have been efficient and courteous. I've been here twice and both times they staff was very friendly and helpful. The UPS Store is for sending stuff and printing things. They do both and pretty well. I come in on a regular basis to use their USAA easy deposit service. The two gentlemen who usually help me out are nothing but polite and friendly, and always do their best to get me out the door asap. But today they really did me a solid; I had left my debit card behind and had already left the shopping center to wait for the bus for my other errands... I wait for a few mins and, literally 30 seconds before my bus arrives, one of them shows up to return my card. I probably would not have remembered how I lost it if they hadn't figured it out shortly after. (incase you were wondering, they only lost track of it in the first place because they squeezed me in while waiting for another customer, for which I am completely grateful) Thank you guys so much! read more

I'm really surprised seeing the reviews on here because I logged on to yelp today to specifically write a review about this location and how awesome it was. I stopped in on Friday with a box to ship (returning a jacket) and a bag just to drop off because it was a prepaid label. Dennis was the guy who helped me out and he was super friendly, personable and nice. I had brought in a bigger box and he actually took the time to cut the box down and really make it the smallest it could be to save me an extra 5 bucks. I thought this was really considerate and thoughtful and I've never seen an employee even ask me that when I have been to other stores. Normally it's just going over the hazardous materials stuff, giving me a price, paying and then I'm on my way. I really enjoyed my experience at this UPS store and I will definitely go back and hopefully continue to get this great service! read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! This place is the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced first-hand. Besides so carelessly throwing my clearly marked "FRAGILE" package halfway across the store into a bin, the man was so extremely rude and mad to have to help a customer. I would like to start off by elaborating on the unacceptable customer service that this UPS location provided to my partner and me. We arrive at the store for a return and immediately the associate disregards our presence and helps the customer who walks in behind us for a return. Upon completing the customers transaction, we were finally acknowledged and directed to another associate after informing her of our UPS visit. We patiently wait around for quite some time, only to see the lady inform the next customer that someone will be with her shortly. The worker seemed to be incompetent of any job skills needed for her position. As we stand around waiting to be assisted, the associate walks over to another customer who is already being assisted by another associate. The two of them are being so disrespectful to the customer and when he leaves the store, the associates are talking amongst one another, wondering why the customers wife didn't just buy them a printer. You NEVER belittle customers in front of another customer...so unprofessional. Finally, my partner and I are helped by the second associate, who happens to be a manager, and he had absolutely no manners and was very short with us. He was very disrespectful and I was appalled that the manager of the store acted in such a manner. With that being said, I will be sure to go to another UPS location for any future transactions. read more

Apparently being able to take care of any "ing" you need now means they charge their customers extra fees to ship items that return shipping is already paid for (at least at this location). They charged me a "set up fee" to ship my package. Not sure what they would have needed to set up since the return label is done by Amazon, so all they have to do is put it in the pile to ship. I have never had to pay this before and I should have just taken my package to Amazon Books to return- out of the way, but at least I know they would never charge me to return a package to Amazon there. They were also incredibly rude to the lady behind me, so I think customer service here is just non existent. read more

Horrible experience I will never go back the first employee Zac I encountered was such a jack ass he actually yelled at me like I was hard of hearing. I went in to have some packages mailed little did I know I was going to get a lecture on glitter at first I thought the guy was kidding then he proceeded to get his window cleaner and spray the counter and me while he also had a broom he bitch the whole time I was there about some glitter that was in a box I brought in from the store with items to be packaged and sent ,I put them on the counter when he yelled at me " no do not put that on counter it has glitter and glitter is poisonous and hard as hell to get out of carpet " no I did not have any glitter the box I had picked up had so little amount it was truly stupid on his behalf to have said anything , He will no longer get my business I was so surprise you really need to be a people person there not sure if he was a hater or just a weirdo as far as the lecture on glitter if I could I would not give him a star. read more

I have frequently dropped off packages at the UPS locations on Far West & Balcones. They are AWESOME. Every single time I am in and out in 2 minutes. If I forgot to tape up the top, no problem. They take care of it with a smile. That's the level of service I've been accustomed to when dropping off my UPS packages. THIS location is NOTHING like those great stores I just mentioned. I walk in with 5 packages, 2 out of 3 are not taped. I drop them off and am shocked when they tell me that I have to pay 3 bucks for the tape and their "labor cost for taping the box." Fine, it's annoying but I'll deal with it. I go hunt for some leftover tape in my car. I come back into the store to tape up my other boxes. They inform me that because they have been sued previously and they're just a Mom and Pop store, so since my tape dispenser has a sharp edge on it I'm going to have to tape my boxes outside the store. Keep in mind the cold front just blew through Austin, so it is freezing outside! I end up having to squat down on the sidewalk outside to tape up my boxes because they can't be liable if I cut myself on my tape dispenser. At this point I am seriously annoyed because their "Mom and Pop store" policies are making this out to be the worst UPS store experience ever. I ask for a comment form, stating that I understand that they are just doing their job according to the policies given them but I would like to express directly to the owners what terrible customer service is happening as a result of their policies. Instead of simply providing a way for me to give some feedback to the owners, the manager starts an argument with me! I am never going back to this UPS store. I like supporting local businesses, and I would have expected better customer service over the corporate option. They have shown that they cannot provide at a minimum what the corporate locations do, and thus they have lost a customer. read more

They have 4 people working there and they act like you are bothering them as a customer. They don't make eye contact, walk right by you and "get to you" when they are ready. I had a box here for about 10 years and witnessed all kinds of rudeness. I called here the other day and asked if they sent DHL. In that same incredibly know-it-all-your-just-sucking-up-valuable-oxygen they responded UPS stores don't do that why would UPS store use a competitor!?!?!?!?!?!? I responded with the UPS store downtown on Brazos ships DHL. Their response, "oh" and then some snide huff. Bite me you sons of B$%%^S. It's the owners. Don't ship your things with ups. They will RIP you OFF! Sent a small envelope to a friend in UT the other day weighing apx 2-3 oz. nothing special, no special speedy delivery, just asked for the best rate. I was sending a bunch of other things as well and when I got the total of 60+ dollars I was surprised but paid it ( had a baby in tow and it was going to be impossible to cancel my order and get everything back into the car without some major misshap). Looked at my receipt when I got home. $18 for shipping a puny envelope. They added every surcharge and fuel fee possible. If I had USPS it would have been less than $3 to send it. Never again, ups. You have lost me as a customer and hopefully others will see this review and choose a different shipping service. read more

I am glad they have some happy customers that they take care of because they treat the new ones like dirt. When I went to the UPS Store there were no shipping materials out and available. I had to wait in a long line for 11 minutes just to get a box. The worker I got the box from was all friendly and gabbing up a storm with all the prior customers but with the women before me she was like mrs hyde. In fact, even though the women was next in line the worker grabbed and helped the customer behind me first. What gives? I guess if you have a mainbox there you get priority. Keep that in mind next time you need to ship something. Come to think of it as busy as the store was at that time there were workers in plain site in the back talking on cell phones. I've been doing business with this store for more than 15 years. I've had a mailbox there for at least that long. The employees have always been friendly, courteous, and have gone out of their way to help me out. I get email and text messages whenever I get a package, and can call there and ask them to let me know when other items I'm expecting have arrived. They call me and let me know. They've even forwarded mail to me when I've been on extended out-of-town stays. And if you need something packaged up so that the gorillas won't damage it en route, this is the place to go. I've always had packages arrive intact that they packed for me. I've also dropped off many packages that already had a prepaid return label on them. Just tell them it's a drop off, and they put it in the bin for outgoing packages - no fuss, no muss. read more

I wish I could give them a 0. I special ordered something for my wedding and when I received the package, the item was broken. Fragile was written all over the package and yet it looked like it had been ran over by a truck. When I called to this location to explain, and willing to bring in the package, I was told that this was not their fault and I should have selected a different shipping instead of ground. I used to have a mailbox here when I lived in South Austin. It turns out a client still had this address on file, from a contract probably about ten years ago. My check was sent to this old address. I called up the store and the woman remembered me and my business. She said she'd check if they had the envelope. She called me back within the hour, said she found it, and held it for me.
