We dropped in here after eating at Hashi Gawa to get a couple of documents notorized. I love it when things go to plan. Easy and painless a it should be. (I've been to places where it isn't). The staff was crazy nice and polite. I know it should be standard but most places we go to lately are not. My partner and I were talking about their mailboxes and the notary filled us in on all the details. Next time we go out of the country may do this. I was greeted and was given undivided attention as I was being served. All I needed was a return that I was attempting to get done from amazon. All I did was put my item on the scale and show my QR code so it could be scanned. It sounded like the sound of success and my receipt was given. My product was in its wrap and that's all, no envelope, box, or have to package anything at all. They do it for you. All that was done in less than 30 seconds. There are large workstations, supplies, and plenty of room for your shipment, writing, and service purposes. Nearby mingle areas and bike racks. The closest BART station is Fruitvale and AC Transit buses 51A, 78, 19, and 851 nightbus are easily accessible. The Transbay bus O is near as well. read more

These guys at this location are absolutely fabulous. They're courteous, reliable and helpful. I have to do Amazon returns, Nespresso coffee pod drop offs, and they greet me with a smile. The most current occasion, is when I had a difficult print job which took both of them to assist me with. It was a stressful time for me as this project is for a Celebration of Life for a very close family friend and I was having problems setting it up to print correctly. Their phone wasn't answered until after 9AM this morning, and there is no way to leave a call-back message. The location, on the west edge of town, isn't convenient, waste of gas. The store itself is very clean and well-organized. Clerks' customer service could do with a tweak, e.g., asking me to move to another section of the counter to drop off a package for processing. Why? I ignored the request (bad knees) and the transaction was completed. I sent Amazon a "zero" rating for this drop off as I much prefer going to Kohl's and getting the receipt with a store discount of 20% for shopping there for a few days. Plus, Kohl's is near stores I regularly frequent. Nob Hill grocery store is near this UPS Store site, but *sob* Baskin Robbins ice cream is gone. read more

I'm super bummed about the experience I just had at my local UPS. I had a return to send and the provided label was for UPS. I walked in with my small package (maybe 6x4x4) and printed label. I still needed to tape it up but figured I could do that at the store. The (very friendly) clerk said that she could tape it up for me for $2 (!), or I could buy tape and donut myself. Even though I don't need tape, makes a lot more financial sense to just purchase it for $4 and tape it myself rather than spending $2 on what would be (at MOST) 8-10 inches of tape. As I was taping, I pulled the wrapping off in order to better access the blade - and the blade popped off. Unfortunately, I could not get it back on, as the cheap plastic mechanisms holding it had snapped when I pulled off the paper wrapper. (Side note, the only purpose of the wrapper as far as I could tell is to cover the blade.) I let the clerk know what had happened and she then asked the manager or owner what to do. He said they would tape it for me but I still need to pay for the tape dispenser since it was made by UPS?! I'll start by observing that charging $2 to tape up a small box (again, we are talking maybe 10 inches of tape total) is a giant rip off, and feels like a low way to squeeze money out of folks. However. Requiring me to buy a cheap item that broke whilst doing ITS ONLY JOB due to its low quality...just felt like the worst customer service I've experienced in a while. I'm bummed because this store is very close to my house, and now (if I ever have to use UPS again) I need to travel to another store. It really doesn't take much to keep most customers happy. I could understand if they charged for taping based on the amount of tape that would be needed (as in, the way we generally pay for everything else in this world, by quantity needed). I'm just *blown away* that they would be willing to piss off and lose a customer over what is essentially a couple of pennies (the amount of tape I needed was so nominal). I've spent most of my life working in some form or customer service, and this would be unacceptable to me as a manager. I took my new (broken) tape dispenser and left, clearly unhappy. They clearly didn't care. read more

Pretty disappointed - shipped something 2nd day. My package was completely destroyed and the store wouldn't comp the cost to ship. I did not ask them to comp the items in package - just the shipping since it was not shipped. I was asking for them to reimburse the shipping cost since my items were never delivered. They aren't able to do this since they are a franchise. Ship direct I guess and get package insurance. I got the yeti cup (pictured) which was the only item I got back. read more

This location has had the best customer service every time we have gone here. In particular we had the very best service with Gagan. He went above and beyond to help us get a very fragile package we needed shipped. From helping carry the package from the car, to helping us package it as carefully as possible with pictures included to show the care he took. Two days ago, I went to this location to drop two items for shipping and was told by one of the workers that I'd be charged $8 for them to print the shipping labels, which would've been a total of two pages, and I "let it be known" that it was outrageous and then left. As I was getting situated in my vehicle, a different worker came out - in the rain - and invited me to go back in so that I would be taken care of and the charges would be waved, which was a big exception. I was having a tough day, not to mention the rain, so all the more, I greatly appreciated that the exception was made. Although there were quite a number of other customers in the store waiting to be waited on, it all went quite fast - which is the usual there - and I was assisted by the same two workers. These days, unfortunately and sadly, such exceptions are rarely made. Kudos to them! read more

This is the second time I came here to get documents notarized. This is the one and ONLY UPS store that I will get important documents notarized at bc they know what they are doing. -good location, plenty of free parking -both times I have come here, I have received consistently excellent notary service -I always have a piece of mind when I'm getting documents notarized because sometimes I'm not sure and they are able to help, if needed. I went to the other Alameda location (AVOID Marina Village location!!!!) and it was awful because they didn't know what they were doing and made me second-guess myself on a document. -Everyone at this location is professional, friendly, patient and nice. -they have document shredding services here -even though there are long lines, they move fast read more

If you go to Fedex and you need to print anything, you can do that for 17 cents. If you go to UPS and you need to print a shipping label that you already paid for, it is 4 dollars. Complete scam. read more

I taped at home my 2 UPS return labels (which I got from the supplier) on the 2 boxes, and then...where shall I find a UPS store where parking is easy, dropping the boxes a cinch, getting a receipt certifying my drop-off, and would indeed make the return happen asap? Believe me, the 3 UPS Oakland stores closest to where I live actually can hardly fill 1 out of 4 of these basic customer hopes. So I looked at YELP reviews and decided to try this Alameda UPS store. Bingo: found free parking in front of the store, was greeting politely as soon as I entered, dropped the boxes, got a receipt, and was able to verify the next day online with the tracking number that my shipment was already on its way back to the supplier. I needed to mail an item back to T-Mobile and I went to 2 T-Mobile stores to which they told me they don't know how to mail their item back even though the rep was the one who sent me to them. I decided to go to my local ups and omg!!! No wait. Just walked up. I was greeted by 2 associates but the one who helped me was Rizza. Rizza was an absolutely wiz. She suggested an item that was budget friendly, she helped me put my items together and she did it all with kindness and professionalism.
