This response from the owner of this establishment is exactly why the store was empty when I got there. You said I showed my class. Fine. You just showed you have none. Not only is this staying up on Yelp this is going to be forwarded to UPS directly. I paid for the service despite me knowing that it was a ridiculous charge and shows why your store continues to be an empty hole-in-the-wall with a most of your reviews being 1 or 2 star complaining about you, in particular. Guess this explains why you only get a paying customer as often as you get a good review for you here on Yelp, in your own words, "once in a while." The original review and response, for context: $4 to print a prepaid label. Terrible wifi so I couldn't even email them the label using their wifi. Why would I need to email the label to you in the first place unless you're not an official UPS Store? Just had a great experience -- I showed up after closing time (thought they closed at 7, but it was really 6:30 and it was about 6:40 when I showed up.) I'd rushed out of the house realizing it was the last day to make an Amazon return, and so I would have been out of luck . . . except that Ken (who was lovely in every way) allowed me to come in and process the return. See picture for specific times. Packing & shipping boxes. Document shredding - but not on site. Printing. Mailboxes. Notary services. Passport photos. House accounts - see website. Faxing & scanning. Etc. Service - Good. People are not excessively friendly, but they do their job. So, thank you. Price - Mostly free (Amazon returns); rest of the prices are the UPS set prices, compatible to Fed Express, etc. Least expensive is USPS, but you get what you pay for... For the most part I am very satisfied with the service I get at this store. Amazon drop offs are a breeze and easy to do. However, there was one time I had a big drop off and was told that because of how I returned everything under one return, they could not package it. That was definitely not helpful and something I think they could have helped me do. I've had notary done here and even taken passport pictures without any issues. Rude staff everytime I come. Same people. Barely greet you, just scans the barcode and takes package most of the time. Once they even asked me to carry the box to leave it near the front for the driver when I saw them help other customers bring it to the front. Like as said of the many reviews for this location, service is poor. It's unfortunate as this is a convenient location for my family, but have come across too many individuals who have an attitude or just a straight up tone to their voice. Lol, there's a dog bowl outside for water so they try to make it seem like they are accommodating to your pets, but today ran into someone who said no dogs allowed, and then all of a sudden there's a "no dogs allowed" sign (looks like they just typed it up on a word document) which is fine if team members are allergic, etc. But I know this isn't a corporate policy. I too have had to pay for their own shipping equipment when trying to complete an Amazon return. not sure why that was the case when I had my own shipping box. Avoid if possible. read more

The young lady who notarizes has abhorrent customer service. In the past, I've gone and had items notarized by a gentleman (looks as if he might be her father- so professional and efficient). She was so indifferent, acting as if I put her out for soliciting their notary services. At the height of her rudeness, she decides to help another customer- even though I'm waiting for her to ring me up and pay. My son-who was waiting outside- even came in worried and said "is everything o.k.?" As several customers had come and left with packages....That's the last $75 I will spend there. They may be close in proximity to my home- I will travel a mile or two if I ever need any of the services they provide. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. Came here twice as I needed fingerprint services for my job background check. The first time the lady behind the counter, youngish woman helped me but had a rude and condescending tone throughout our interaction. She told me to come back with one piece of information I was missing. The next time I came back with that information, she turned me away again as it needed to be in some sort of structured form. I'm not sure why she didn't just tell me that from the beginning. When I asked her a clarifying question she turned her back to me and started having a random conversation with her coworker. Not to mention, she barely seemed interested in helping despite the fact that i was polite throughout our interaction. This place should hire people who are actually interested in doing their jobs instead of some rude lady that brings her dark and negative energy around others who don't deserve it. this store is conveniently located in the small Harbor Bay shopping center, tucked toward the back to the left of the Safeway that anchors this area. while I've visited this location numerous times over the years, this review is for a culmination of this month's visit to this location. the first time in July, the two younger women behind the counter seemed really interested in talking to a man standing adjacent to the counter. they did not stop their conversation to attend to me while I was waiting in plain view after walking in. when I was finally attended to, i dismissed this experience as them being too inexperienced in a customer-centric service business. the next time I visited, these same two were focused on another man's friendly dog, playing and petting the small animal. I waited for a couple minutes before they realized I was there. when one of them finally noticed, she did not greet me but instead signaled me to put my packaging onto their scale. again, their focus wasn't on people. when I said thank you for them providing a receipt to me, that was the only time they spoke back... to say "you're welcome". on the most recent visit, a woman (different from the other two women) did help me immediately upon walking in. but behind the back wall behind the counter, you could loudly hear another woman complaining about some sort of personal problem. not sure if she was talking to another person or into her phone, but not exactly what you want to hear at a service counter coming from a disembodied voice. maybe it was one of the younger women I previously mentioned? this was unprofessional and completely lacking in awareness. while the store does do what they do: accept packages, help you with shipping, providing you you're packages... it is probably too much expectation to have it be more customer centric. read more

Came here today with an Amazon return. My Amazon box (small box) was open and the young lady working there had such a bad attitude when I asked her for some tape to seal it with she said she would have to charge me a dollar. Rather than going home again and wasting my time I paid the dollar for 6 inches of tape to be used to seal my box. Given this is a neighborhood store it was not necessary to treat me so rude and not provide a little tape. I would have understood if it was lots and lots of boxes and I was asking to use their tape but this was a small box. I gave her cash. I should have asked for a receipt. Such a shame a neighborhood shop treats its community like this. I will avoid coming here in the future. read more

I recently had a package sent to this location, as I was not at home in time for the delivery. I went into the store and this older man, the manager/owner I think told me he did not have my package, even though I received notice that it was delivered there. He was not even interested in looking up the tracking number and said he only takes deliveries for his mailbox customers. I found him to be extremely rude. I spent about four hours trying to track down the package through ups. Finally he called and told me he had located my package and used a more civil tone of voice after having been contacted by ups about the problem. . After this kind of service, I will opt to go to another ups store, even though it may be more inconvenient. I would suggest this to other readers as well. If he supposedly only accepts packages for his mailbox customers, ups should not list him as an access point for pick ups. read more

Located in Harbor Bay Landing on the left back side of Safeway is the UPS Store. The times that I have been here, there is usually one or no customers in the store. I haven't utilized any of the counter services but have come to this UPS Store to drop off return packages to Amazon. I usually just drop off the packages in the package drop area near the entrance. Once I had a very large box to be returned and the worker said I could leave it at the front counter. As an Amazon shopper, I glad this UPS Store is close to my house so that I can easily and painlessly drop off my Amazon returns. read more

I've been going here years, but only recently, I have been going for notary. Why, because it easy, convenient, and no appointment necessary. Plus, they are super friendly. I used to bring all my packages here to ship out every other days. Services here were okay at first but recently I noticed a decline in service quality and they seems to want to charge you for everything. I brought in 10 packages and one of them the tape came off and the girl working there wanted ti charge me $1.50 for a piece of tape about 5 inches. That was the last straws for me on that day. I took all my packages to FEDEX store. The services were much more pleasant and they noticed the package that the tape came off and they taped it up for me without any issues. This UPS store is listed as a payment receipt center for Alameda Power. Last weekend I needed to get a package out and pay my electric bill so I figured what could be more perfect?! When I arrived at the store the woman behind the counter did not greet me. She seemed inconvenienced by my coming in, granted I was the only person in the store at that time. I told her I needed to send a package and handed it to her, already packed and with the label affixed. She took the package and put it behind the counter-- and that is the last I would ever know about that package. Three days later I checked the tracking number and was shocked to find out it had not yet been shipped. I am still trying to work with the store to place this package, a $300 cell phone that was being returned on a timeline in order to qualify for a refund. Second, I mentioned I wanted to pay my electric bill. She immediately asked if I had a check. I said I had cash. She then tells me she can take my cash but she cannot give me a receipt (?). She says "most people" use their cancelled check as a receipt. I was obviously perplexed. I asked her why she couldn't simply write me a receipt that she had received the money. She thought for a minute then pulled out a receipt book. To this day I am still not sure my electric bill was ever paid. Do not go to this UPS store... very unreliable. read more

I Had one of my worst customer service experiences at this store. I took a package in to be shipped and needed a little tape to close the top of my box. The lady at the counter, Kanan Gupta, looked like she was inconvenienced by my request and told me there was a $2 charge for the tape. I was kind of surprised at this nickel and dime approach and politely mentioned it to her hoping she would bring it up to her boss. I went out of my way to reassure her that I was not upset at her, and that I knew she was just carrying out company policy. I agreed to pay the $2 for the tape. She then went on a rant about how she didn't need to deal with these types of comments "first thing in the morning" and very rudely refused to take my package. I feel that taking out what ever personal issues she might have had that morning on me, the customer, is absurd! read more

I was using their services since I was in the area for 8 months working. Everything seemed fine until there was a lost package. The post office said they delivered it, but it never materialized. The lady who works there said she would take care of it. When I went to the post office to file a complaint they said the package was delivered and no one had ever called about the package from the stores location. No signature card was ever produced by either entity. When I left the area to move to another job I arraigned with the owner to keep the p.o. box and have her forward my mail every other week. They could not handle this small task. I had to start calling to get my mail sent to me. Most of my mail handled by them is over a month old. Now I'm told by the USPS that they have to forward my mail for 6 months after I move! All I can say is OH MY GOD! These people can't be trusted to handle the things they say they can when your not around. I've called everyone important who handles my mail and deliveries to notify them of the address change because I can't trust these people will get my mail to me in a timely manner. read more

Went in to renew my passport and thought the process was going smoothly.. A young Pilipino gentleman helped me. He took my headshot for my passport renewal - thought it was going to be okay since he does this everyday. After I found out that they lost my PassPort with my trip coming up in 2 weeks, I had to go into the passport agency in SF. I then find out that they told me the picture is unacceptable. I go back in to tell them the story and how I wanted my refund back. The guy acts like he does not remember me in front of his manager. They hesitate to give me my refund so I had to go through my CC provider. Just do yourself a favor and go to the UPS location in Main Island. read more

Incredibly rude owner, unresponsive to request for help, belligerent when asked for explanation why I'm standing there 3 feet in front of me and he's ignoring me with a frown on his face. Then he let me know that he's having trouble logging onto Amazon when I asked. Common courtesy to let me know the issue before getting angry at my query for what's going on would have been helpful.
