    I ordered an AVR from a retailer that was gave an estimated delivery date of 4/10, which was perfect since I was going to be out of town from 4/4 through 4/7. But on 3/31, I received an email from the retailer that the package was being shipped today. I checked the tracking number on FEDEX and the estimated delivery date was 4/4, the day I was leaving town. I went onto the FEDEX Delivery Manager website and requested a new delivery date of 4/10, which was confirmed and I was charged $5.55. When I was out of town I received FEDEX emails that they attempted deliver on 4/4, 4/5 and 4/6, which totally confused me since it was supposed to be delivered on 4/10. When I arrived home the evening of 4/7, there were missed delivery tags from 4/4, 4/5 and 4/6 on my door. I received an email on 4/9 regarding a 4/10 delivery. But on 4/10, I received an email that the package was delayed and to expect delivery on 4/11. On 4/11, I received and email that the package was delayed and to expect delivery on 4/12. Again on 4/12, the received another package was delayed email with delivery expected for 4/13. I decided to call the number that was on delivery tags and the worker said they had the package at the Ship Center and that if I didn't pick it up today, it was going to be returned to the Sender. What! I drove to the Ship Center and provided the tracking number and my ID and I was given my package. I asked why was were deliver attempts made on 4/4 to 4/6 when I paid to have it delivered on 4/10. He looked at my receipt and concurred it should have been delivered on 4/10. He checked the system and he said there was no record that I had requested delivery for 4/10. From my receipt, he said it should be 4/10 and was apologetic. He said I should file a claim through the website. When I got home, I immediately filed the claim for a refund of $5.55 for non-performance of delivery and it said it would take up to 14 days for them to resolve the claim. On 4/24, I received an email stating my claim was denied and that I had to contact the sender. What??? In any case, I refiled another claim and attached all the supporting documentation. FEDEX is a terrible shipping company. How can you not follow through on a new delivery date which you charged me for? Then your local FEDEX office is not even aware of this new delivery date?

    Let's just say, if you have to pick up a package here, be prepared to seriously wait, and I mean wait... I don't really like giving low ratings to places I've only been to once, I generally try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt. But judging from the reviews, the long line I was in for a very long time, the people in that line saying it's always like this, the fact that they didn't even open the door when they opened (I, like many people here, got here right before they opened) and just the eyeball test, let's just say they didn't come off as very enthusiastic about their job. I'll leave it at that!!

    Miguel is may driver in Oakland and he does not attempt to deliver packages. Do not use Fedex if you live in apartment. Drivers suck.

I was there for awhile, since there was an issue with one of my QR codes. I stepped to the side to make a quick phone call to Amazon and while there (maybe 15 minutes) the traffic in the store goes by pretty quickly. There were a few times where the line started to nearly reach the entrance, but everything seemed to be serviced pretty quickly, and this was with only one clerk. Dropping off my returns was pretty simple. Scan the QR code and drop off the item. I also received a receipt detailing each return and tracking number, which was helpful. Less than two minutes later, I received notification my return was processed. The clerk was also very pleasant and helpful. Great location for those in the Lake Merritt/Adams Point neighborhood.

In the age of Amazon where you can get same day 3-hour delivery or simple just go to Office Depot in Emeryville (10 min drive). The only excuse is negligence and poor management. This UPS has no infrastructure and no policy regarding returning fax. Im expected to just show up and ask for my fax but with no toner no fax are printing. They have been out of toner since Saturday 4/4 and writing this review 4/8. Maybe at this point.. don't offer a service at all if you can't maintain supplies? Once I...if I get my documents I'll be using a different location.

This UPS Store is very convenient - located on the ground floor just near the main entrance to the Oakland City Center Marriott and the Hertz office also co-located there. In fact, it was a visit to Hertz that brought me here. The Oakland City Center Marriott (and this UPS Store and Hertz location are) is/are convenient to the freeway, and super convenient by BART. Just get off at the downtown end of the 12th Street station (towards the front of a train travelling in the SF direction), and that puts you right cross the street! Like I mentioned, I was going to Hertz to pick up a car, and I happened to have a small Amazon return in my backpack. My plan was to find a convenient UPS location in the next day or two to return this thing, so it was a time-saving and convenient delight to find one right in front of me and literally next door to where I was going. The store itself is quite small, but neat. The staff was pleasant, welcoming, and patient (yes, it took me a while to find my return code, since I wasn't expecting to need it so soon). All in all it was a nice experience. I don't imagine myself going out of my way to go to this location, but if I do find I need a UPS Store and this one's in my path, I'll look forward to visiting again.

It never happened with this location but I appreciate the consistent reminder. The staffs are really friendly and welcoming. They never fail to take notice of me entering the store and inform me that they'll be right with me. Whenever I have questions, they would give me a list of options before making a decision. During down time, it feels genuine when we strike a conversation. Definitely a neighborhood vibe.
