I ordered an AVR from a retailer that was gave an estimated delivery date of 4/10, which was perfect since I was going to be out of town from 4/4 through 4/7. But on 3/31, I received an email from the retailer that the package was being shipped today. I checked the tracking number on FEDEX and the estimated delivery date was 4/4, the day I was leaving town. I went onto the FEDEX Delivery Manager website and requested a new delivery date of 4/10, which was confirmed and I was charged $5.55. When I was out of town I received FEDEX emails that they attempted deliver on 4/4, 4/5 and 4/6, which totally confused me since it was supposed to be delivered on 4/10. When I arrived home the evening of 4/7, there were missed delivery tags from 4/4, 4/5 and 4/6 on my door. I received an email on 4/9 regarding a 4/10 delivery. But on 4/10, I received an email that the package was delayed and to expect delivery on 4/11. On 4/11, I received and email that the package was delayed and to expect delivery on 4/12. Again on 4/12, the received another package was delayed email with delivery expected for 4/13. I decided to call the number that was on delivery tags and the worker said they had the package at the Ship Center and that if I didn't pick it up today, it was going to be returned to the Sender. What! I drove to the Ship Center and provided the tracking number and my ID and I was given my package. I asked why was were deliver attempts made on 4/4 to 4/6 when I paid to have it delivered on 4/10. He looked at my receipt and concurred it should have been delivered on 4/10. He checked the system and he said there was no record that I had requested delivery for 4/10. From my receipt, he said it should be 4/10 and was apologetic. He said I should file a claim through the website. When I got home, I immediately filed the claim for a refund of $5.55 for non-performance of delivery and it said it would take up to 14 days for them to resolve the claim. On 4/24, I received an email stating my claim was denied and that I had to contact the sender. What??? In any case, I refiled another claim and attached all the supporting documentation. FEDEX is a terrible shipping company. How can you not follow through on a new delivery date which you charged me for? Then your local FEDEX office is not even aware of this new delivery date? read more

I hate to jump on the missed delivery bandwagon but fed ex has totally lost us shine. This time they claimed to have attempted delivery 3 times. The final attempt was time stamped when I was working right in my front window. It's impossible that they actually came. When I called they told me it was their third attempt but not a single sticky note was left behind. As I got further into it with the operator they gave me the time of the first delivery attempt. AGAIN, someone was at my home during that moment. WTF? Something really odd is going on, and this company needs to get its act together and have their drivers stop lying about coming to my door! Fed ex driver named Leonel was too lazy to get out and dial a gate code. Had to come to the fed ex location in Oakland. Front desk guy with dreads was rude trying to make excuses. I asked to speak to a manager which looks like it's Steve Bailey on duty and he couldn't take 2 minutes to come out and talk to a customer. On top of that, they said my package would be here at 6 and it's after 6 and the lazy driver still isnt back. This is one of the worse experience I have EVER had. I have no problems with UPS, Amazon, or any other delivery service but I have had problems with fed ex multiple times. I paid for overnight delivery and because the driver was too lazy I had to drive to Oakland. Completely unacceptable and so unprofessional of all! I was told that FedEx made an attempt to deliver the package but the business was closed the only problem is that someone was there the whole time waiting and no one never came. Worst delivery service ever! They never deliver ANY of my packages on time and they have drivers with a time limit quota so their drivers just park in the vicinity and mark that the customer aren't home or they can't get a hold of us even when they don't even bother using my apt intercom or follow the delivery instructions to call my cell. I literally had to stand in my complex parking lot once to flag the driver down to ask for my package because I was waiting for a wedding gift to arrive. UPS, Amazon and heck even DHL and smaller shipping companies never have this problem. They then apologize and blame that they are short staffed at the warehouse so lines flow out the door when people are forced to go pick up their packages. Maybe less stress if your drivers are more efficient. I have no sympathy for this company or their workers because of the effort I know other delivery carriers have made. I get a flyer in the mail about employment constantly and I can see why they have high turnover, garbage delivery and garbage company overall. Delivery windows are complete LIES. "Delivery scheduled for today between 9:30am-1:30pm", after 1:30pm, changes to "Delivery scheduled by end of day". After 6pm, "Delivery Exception - Delayed". Get used to seeing these types of updates when it comes to FedEx. If you can't stick to a schedule, don't give these updates. This happened for the last 2 deliveries, no wonder Amazon dropped these guys. Another time, delivery driver didn't even bother to deliver, instead they listed the item as "undeliverable - attempted delivery", EVEN THOUGH I WAS HOME ALL DAY WAITING FOR THE PACKAGE. These Assholes claimed to have delivered my package today, which I've been waiting for over a week, and which by the way was suppose to be delivered via Surepost; meaning by the Postal Service; and when I call them to tell them. Hadn't received it like the claimed , they told me that there's nothing they can do, but only the shipper. For the last 5 years FEDEX is the ONLY carrier that has done the following: 1) Lost multiple packages in the last 3 years 2) Always delay packages and claimed it was lost 3) Always claimed they stopped at my business and no one was there. My tracking stated that my deliver was attempted but no one was home. I was home all day since I am WFH due to shelter in place. I requested FedEx to come back to pick a package they delivered to me. The wrong house called at 9:00 a.m. call the 12:30 p.m. and a call around 5: 30 every customer service attendant lied.The first guy said he'd registered and have FedEx come back and pick it up delivered to the next block. The second service call says she'll have someone there within an hour. This is my 12:30 noon. The last call I made was at about 5:30. The guy told me that's why they're insured and it probably won't be picked up until 2 or 3 days. Number one. The box was super heavy I am senior had my neighbor push it to the side of the house they stopped me from speaking immediately to let me know. That's why they have insurance and it's not their problem. My porch is open to porch pirates and rain. FedEx, how is your website decorated with "we're here to help you" slogans but you make it so damn difficult every time I have a package on your truck or within your facility? Countless times you've left numerous packages outside my apartment building - (yes, they were stolen by degenerates), didn't call to notify me you were outside (then claimed that you've tried countless times to contact me), and hung up in my ear several times when I've called inquiring about delivery after you sped off. Today I received an email stating that you attempted to deliver my package several times and now it will "be destroyed and sent back to China!" Excuse me? I've been sitting in this house since March, you didn't attempt shit. When I called the location, I was then told that the drivers do not contact residents and aren't suppose to use their personal cell phones. Well when the fuck was this decided as I have always received calls from drivers letting me know they were outside? What we're not going to do is play eenie meenie miney mo and decide when you want to do your part in "helping me receive my packages easily". Why not just send me on a blindfolded scavenger hunt around the bay area? I'm sure I'd receive them much faster that way. I then took an Uber over and was told that since my address on the package and license do not match I can't receive the package...and it is scheduled to be returned to sender this afternoon. Telling a client that the package will be early, which they did not do, leaving a note stating they would make another attempt that day, which they did not do, saying the next day they had the wrong address, whereby they could not attempt a delivery, stating times for the following day and then not stopping at the residence (watched the driver pass the house), and promising to deliver by 4:30 which they did not do the fourth day. I'm fact, the service agents promised deliveries and call backs which never happened. This means their systems are extremely poor and their service is subsequently horrible. I'm behind the gate and FedEx after 70 years of business can't figure out how to deal with somebody behind the gate, which is irresponsible I can't wait at my gate every day to find out when this thing is going to get to me I didn't order it it's coming from my old doctor. I went here once and liked it, however, there was one problem. I live in Oakland and thought that it was much closer than it was. I needed to send a package, and I took the opportunity to go to this place, so close to home. Big mistake!!! It wasn't as close to my home as I expected and I had quite a time getting there. The line was long, long, long and I went early enough to be serviced. But things went fine once it was my turn. I got to send my package, but I missed the Emeryville Ship Center which is a little farther away, and has long lines, but it isn't nearly as hard to find as this place was. But, if I ever need to send a package, I'd rather do so from a place that's actually close to shopping. That's the only reason why this has three stars. read more

I have shipped from this location for years and never had an issue with the service. I am astonished to see the bad reviews, because it has not been my experience at all, and I have I not heard any other customers complain while I was there in line, and never had to wait too long in line either. This depot did have a staffing issue at one point, but even then the service employees I have worked with have been efficient and polite, and in my experience the service has generally been great, both for shipments as well as deliveries. read more

This shipping company is the worst. I already set up instructions on their website 2 weeks before the product shipped to just leave the package outside the front door of where I live. Guess what the person delivering the package still didn't do that. They say they attempted 3 times to re-deliver the package. Today was the last attempt. I was at home. I instructed ring the doorbell and whatnot but they didn't even do that. I will know if there's really an attempt to deliver because I'm at home. Instead I just received a text message saying my package has been delayed. And when I clicked the link they say I have to go to Oakland Pardee drive to pick up my package otherwise they will return it to the vendor. What a load of crap. I'm at home and I know for sure they didn't bother getting close to the apartment complex that I live in. The delivery person just decides "nobody is home why do I even bother". I called their customer support and they are not helpful either. They are talking about access codes for a gated apartment and I told them I don't know anything about that. USPS, UPS and Amazon delivery seems to be able to get in just fine. Then they change the topic and told me there's no problem getting in? They are not making any sense. I would warn anybody if you're ordering something and the vendor only offers fedex let that vendor know that fedex is a poor delivery service. If they can't offer a different shipping service to deliver their products then don't do business with them. I will never be using FedEx again. My package was supposed to be delivered last Friday 15th July. I waited home all day as the package contained 3 live plants. After 3pm the Fed ex website was updated and my package was now being delivered Saturday. Saturday I could not wait home, and saw an email that package had been delivered at 12.04, when I got home at 3pm there was no package, walked all around the house, nothing. I drove to next street over where fed-ex has mis delivered before. NOTHING. Called Fed- ex got a lame guy who said there was nothing they could do as I had filed a missing package on line. He said no one will be able to help me till Monday. I explained it was plants and he did not seem at all interested, he told me someone would call me Monday. Called Sunday, same thing. Called Monday 18th July as no one called me, was told that the driver will be contacted and there would be an update. Nothing, so called back Tuesday 19th July got another lame guy saying the package was damaged and was with Fedex, then the website was updated and I saw package was out for delivery. I called back and was told it was not out for delivery as it was missing a label. Now I am seriously upset. I hung up called back and got through to someone in the USA who called Oakland and was told it was out for delivery, but package had been damaged and re packed. Package was delivered around 5pm Tuesday, no door bell was rung as I was home, the box was left in full sun, in full view of street, if they had moved it two feet to the right it would of been in the shade and hidden from the street. Fortunately I was signed up for email updates, so went down and got the box straight away. I saw a huge red label on the outside of the box saying "live plants do not expose to heat" the box was dirty but not damaged, the label was intact with correct address name and phone number. The plants were dead. I am angry at Fed-ex for the lies and the time it took and run around. I am angry at the initial customer service reps who are useless and gave me incorrect information. I am deeply sad my plants are dead. Whoever delivers to my address is careless and irresponsible and its obvious they don't give a damn. They never ring my door bell and often leave it at the wrong door in full sun and full view of the street. If you want to file a complaint, there is only one way to call their 1-800 number and get connected to another useless person in their customer service. Expensive and terrible.
