I needed to ship something internationally and also have it sent back. International shipping is not easy online if you don't do it all the time. So, I decided to go to FedEx and get some help. Parking easy - they have a small lot plus there's street parking. Staff - My person was super helpful. She had me fill out a form and then she entered everything into the computer. My helper also filled out all the custom forms (which is what made me stuck online) This was painless and took about the amount of time I expected. 20ish minutes. Notes: there was only 1 employee helping people when I arrived. A 2nd popped out when a line began forming behind me but it took them at least 5+ minutes to come out and help. So I deducted 1.5 stars for that. My overall rating 3.5 stars so I rounded up to 4. Also I noticed on the employee badge it had CPR credentials so I felt safe that if I fainted she'd be able to help me. read more

So I am the queen of online shopping, takes the hassle out of browsing and trying on and waiting in line. Yes I can be impatient! ShopRunner ships items in 2 days so my wait is minimal and returns are free through FedEx. The FedEx location in Pinole is quaint, a bit crowded with displays and supplies in such a small space, but the customer service here is friendly, efficient, accurate and quite accommodating. I am greeted with a genuine smile and acknowledged every visit which is warming, especially during a time of social distancing. The line here is not typically long making the wait time minimal; however, if there is a customer who is unfamiliar with the process or has a complicated transaction you may find your wait time extended as there is usually only one agent available to assust, some times two. CALL AHEAD FOR OPERATING HOURS as the service hours posted on Google are not accurate. I have found myself visiting this store while it was closed a couple times. Oops! The parking lot is extremely tight and small and is shared with several other shops, so parking may be difficult depending on the time you visit. I'm fine parking a short distance and walking to visit FedEx, their consistent service and minimal wait time makes it worth it to me. read more

They lost my package. It was a $1000 dollar ceramic handmade in Italy. Made it all the way from there to California, until it was lost on the last leg of the journey by these incompetents in Oakland. Now they are promising the reimbursement to the shipper. If that really does happen, the shipper is reimbursed, by I am the one who still is out for the payment of the shipping and the merchandise. I now have to contact the shipper to get reimbursed for all my losses, and hope they are more honest than FedEx. read more

Just where do I begin in explaining how fedex is an entity unto itself and totally uncooperative. I ordered a product From a company and the agent On the phone mistakenly prepared Delivery to be a fedex shipment and I never receive any products from fedex because if they need a signature there's no one home to Sign for it. The shipper Contacted FedEx to lift this Signature requiremen and sent me an email of verification. FedEx persists in ignoring the request, continues to leave notes on My door add The call center push button AI outfit telling me that my tracking number cannot be rerouted to another address. There seems to be no way for me to get a human being with a brain on the phone. Everything is the pushing the button and listening to the AI. The entire operation is a dumpster fire because if a SENDER prepares an order incorrectly and selects FedEx shipment there's no way of editing details. FedEx will not bend and FedEx will not serve and FedEx is not customer oriented. Since there really is no way to get to the source of the problem, this Emeryville center is hearing from me through YELP because more than likely the product has to go through Emeryville to land in Berkeley where I live. There's a young lady there and she seem a bit shy and quiet and it comes off as interested in her job. But the more and more I come and ship out packages I see her getting more comfortable and using great customer service But theres a another lady with glasses she's the mean one. When I was checking my info to make sure she did everything correct she yelled "don't touch anything" and I wasn't. This is my favorite location!!! I love, love, love it! Anytime I need to pick up a package, they have it for me. Whenever I need to send a package, they are very helpful. Even the line doesn't seem as long as it could be. I also like the fact that it's close to shopping centers (three of them) and there was a gluten free shop in the area. I love that they have services available because leaving my packages at a drop off location isn't an option. Having them leave the packages at my place, is also out of the question. Anytime I need to send or receive a package, I'll drive out there to do it with them. read more

If there was an option to write a review while giving ZERO stars this fed ex would be at the top of the list as one of the most unorganized, unethical and dishonest services rendered to customers at the forefront. My package was scheduled to be delivered to me on a Friday which was pre-paid for on a rush delivery. I was at home waiting for this package and had no plans to go anywhere as it was an important package to me. Through the day I am following it's updates on the app and such, realizing it was coming down to the wire I took it upon myself to call customer service and inquire as to what is going on. I had 3 to 4 different representatives! 3 to 4!!!!!!!! different agents telling me the same story and NONE OF THEM! I repeat NONE OF THEM did anything to resolve the issue and all of them I repeat ALL OF THEM LIED about taking notes contacting the driver, taking my complain no notes no nothing was recorded or counted for every single time I called! NOT ONE! and you know how I know this because each lying agent I spoke with said the same thing the previous agent said" I've taken your complaint and we will look further into this and it's been reported"...IN FACT ONE AGENT EVEN WENT SO FAR AS TO GIVING ME A CASE# so that I may follow up with it with corporate or a higher manager. Get this i ended up going to the Emeryville facility spoke with the manager there gave her the case # told her about what happened, she states that NO COMPLAINTS WERE FILED, CASE NUMBER WAS NON-EXISTENT, AND THAT TWO OF HER DRIVERS ATTEMPTED A DELIVERY DROP OFF TO MY RESIDENCE ON THE SAME DAY and literally FLAT OUT LIED ABOUT COMING TO MY HOUSE AT ALL! they said no one wasn't available so they took package back to the facility! Let me tell you I live in a cul-de-sac very quiet neighborhood, lights everywhere even all our cars were outside! These people are shady, the drivers are full of shit and they will drive up and down your block and near your house just so they can signal to their facility that they attempted to deliver but no one was there because there too lazy to come out of there trucks and too fucking lazy to do their jobs! I lost a whole day and a half of work just to drive to the facility to pick my package up they didn't even attempt to deliver it the next day when it was there drivers fault. I pray and I seriously seriously pray and hope to God that the drivers and businesses like fed ex get there shit together and I hope corporate fires there asses and even go as far as pulling the calls I have made and who answered those recorded calls and firing those agents too! FedEx Ship Center isn't new to me, unfortunately. been here before. really dread the Oakport location, maybe that's UPS. always crowded. understaffed there too. different here: few people picking up packages in the late morn. told citibank not to use FEDex, use USPS, i can wait for it to arrive in my locked mail box. he agreed. shipped it FedEx who tried to deliver it in the early afternoon when i'm not home. got a notice stating delivery attempted with only date and code on bottom and pick up location. no doubt relevant info left off to avoid identity theft. got my package fine. no thanks to citibank. all the major CC companies have screwed me when they could, so no loyalties. cut off Amex when costco switched. money back feature wiped out by compound interests and hidden daily interest charges.. read more

I end up here more often than I would like (like today). It always involves a package that requires a signature and when I'm not home. The package pickup trip also usually comes after a particularly frustrating phone experience with Fedex customer service. Redelivery options of course are equally inconvenient. And if the package has come from Canada, a "return to sender" can mean months of border brokerage purgatory. So under protest, I adjust my schedule accordingly. This Fedex is not always the easiest to find, but at least they have more convenient hours than its UPS counterpart in Richmond. And once I'm here, the whole "find the package and sign for it" process is usually relatively fast and professionally efficient. That's small consolation for the hassle, but I appreciate it. read more

The stars are for the guy at the front counter! I had an incredibly expensive and anticipated package coming from abroad and the driver who left the door tag didn't scan it into the computer so it was MIA when I went in to pick it up. That didn't stop the counter guy (CG) from looking through all the international packages they had. It turned out to be back on the truck and out for delivery so the CG suggested I come back after 6 when all the drivers had returned for the day. I had to be up there anyway so I said "see ya later" and went home. The package was on my porch when I got home so I moved on with my life. About an hour after I got home FedEx called to let me know the CG had brought a manager into it and they had researched the package and determined that the driver had delivered it, they called because they wanted to make sure I had found it and to save me a wasted trip back to the store if I didn't swing by my house first! I see a lot of bad reviews in this page and that sucks because I think this is some of the best CS I have ever gotten! CG has definitely done his job already but to go the extra mile and make sure I didn't waste my time is pretty rad! This is about fedex overall, not necessarily this ship center (which ultimately helped us). Paid for priority overnight with guaranteed delivery by 10:30am for an urgent package. Instead, it arrived shortly after 12:30, with no updates online other than "pending". The claim was the plane inbound was late, but the package had been in Oakland by 5am and Emeryville (this center) before 7:10am, plenty of time for the less than 5 miles to deliver the package from the center to its destination. I get it that it still needed to be sorted and loaded, but still, there's a reason to pay extra for the priority delivery. Will be asking for a shipping fee refund. read more

Absolutely incompetent and no regards for customer service. Their delivery people don't actually ring the doorbell and instead just quietly tap on the door, so I don't hear them unless I am standing right by the door. Their phone system is a convoluted robo-mess and if you do actually manage to talk to a live agent, he just hangs up when he doesn't know what to do. And when their online support team sent a message to my delivery guy to redeliver within today the delivery guy just ignores the request. This should tell you something when the drivers give so little of a damn they ignore requests sent from their own company. Their web security is always in absolute shambles, as I have gotten fraudulent charges over $1000 on my account. When I disputed the charges FedEx decided to next try sending a collections agency after me, until finally they admitted their wrong-doing and cleared my record. Do yourself a favor, and always go with UPS. They give you a narrower window, let you track by GPS where the driver is, their drivers actually ring the doorbell. FedEx is for losers. read more

FYI, you need a physical copy of a bill with your name and address if your id address does not match your return address (which is the case for 90% of students btw) showed a picture of my PGE bill and was rebuffed. Incredibly silly policy in my opinion considering I would have had to photoshop a PGE bill to have an image of my name and address on another PGE bill to have this image... Hope they change their policy, but if they don't then I hope this helps someone to save their time. Edit: went to another fedex about 15 mins after this and they let me send the package and told me that the return address would have to be the return address on my id (which was no problem for me). Looks like the policy is reasonable (return address must be the one on your id) but the folks at this fed ex aren't accommodating at all. read more

Terrible. People were all queued up in line to get their door tags converted into packages they can take home, and I was one of those people. The older woman at the desk took a bunch of our tags and started working them through the system to retrieve our packages (about 6 of them) in order. Then, an employee at another terminal took the next woman who walked in, went, and got her package. EVERY person in line was giving the "WTF" headshake - that person who came in after everybody else should have had to wait in line just like we did. A few other small things tipped me off to the idea that this may be a common occurrence at this facility. I had such a nice experience shipping a package from this location. The parking lot has plenty of parking and is easy to find. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, aiding me in the packing process. There is no wait for anything at this location and when they tell you how long a package will take to arrive, it actually arrives in that time period. It took me almost no time to get in and out of the store with my package mailed and a confirmation number in my hand. Worst FedEx store I've patronized. They left me a few delivery slips during times that I or one of my roommates was home. They didn't even ring my bell to attempt to give me the package personally. Since I was going out of town, my roommate went to the shipping center to see if she could retrieve the package for me. They told her since the package required a signature, I would need to come get it myself and should put in a vacation notice in the meantime so they would hold the package for me. Okay, fair enough, but when I called the FedEx customer service number, they told me I can't put in a vacation notice. I'm not sure which department is at fault here (the shipping center or the call center), to be honest, but I thought I'd share that. When I went to the location itself, I was the only one in there, but the employees and manager were too busy having a personal conversation in the back to help me for several minutes. Someone finally came out to help me and made me wait another few minutes. Looking for my package, the employee manually searched through some boxes before shrugging, "I guess we sent it back." You would think they would have a more organized system in order to provide a more definite answer than that. I don't have a ton of experience with FedEx, but this is by far the most incompetent service I've ever had with this company. Avoid. read more

Return to Sender So an important item I was expecting arrived when I was not home. Fedex says the delivery was attempted 3 times and then returned to sender. I was home on the third delivery date and can say that Fedex never attempted delivery. The delivery tag says quite clearly that Fedex will hold an undeliverable item for two business days after the third attempt. The first day after the third I went to the Fedex center and was told the item was returned to sender because FX just had too many packages. Now I have Ring on my door and can prove that Fedex never came to my door to deliver the package. When I was speaking to them the item had not left the area but they would not redirect it to me. All I got for my trouble is a worthless apology from a telephone rep. Like many companies today, Fedex is just too big to deliver adequate customer service when it counts. read more

Wanted to mail a package to a friend that contained frozen food so we brought in our styrofoam cooler packed with the food and some dry ice. When we brought the cooler in we left it open in case FedEx needed to inspect the contents. When we arrived we taped up the container (took at least 5 minutes) and paid the almost $200 cost to ship it for the next day in the afternoon. (By the way, they wouldn't take our Amex gift card since apparently their system can't take multiple payments.) About 10 minutes after we leave we get a call from them telling us they can't take the package that they just accepted since it's packed in styrofoam and we're not an authorized styrofoam shipper. So we have to come back and pick it up. We can re-package it but at this point it's too late to get it out today. It would have to be a 2 day or Monday delivery. I guarantee you the woman behind the counter saw our styrofoam box when she was telling us how to tape up the box and processing our payment. Might have been a good idea to tell us before we paid and left the facility that you wouldn't be able to take the package so we wouldn't have had to drive back in traffic and waste our time. When we returned there was no apology and when I told the girl it would have been nice to know they couldn't take it when we dropped it off, she just said, yeah, I didn't know either. Please train your employees so they know what's acceptable to ship and what's not. Seems like FedEx 101 to me. read more
