I came into the store as a delivery driver dropping off a package that required no receipt. I approached the counter where this older mixed guy with white hair was helping a nice lady who had a huge amount of packages she was sorting through. I politely said I'm just dropping off this delivery. Could I leave this right here since the lady who was in front of me being helped told me I could go in front of her.. the super beyond rude employee told me aggressively I need to step back and wait my turn because he has to give me a receipt. I explained to him once again I'm a delivery driver dropping off a package that does not require me getting a receipt. He rudely responded by saying I need to use my words. Better learn how to speak.! ( I was completely cut off guard by that basically telling me the way I speak, wasn't good enough for him. Instead walk into this establishment and am completely fine ignored. I understand that the person 4' from me was replacing something on their register like tape... but you're 4' feet from me. I can't thank the employees at the UPS Marina Village store enough, especially Trina, who really helped me out in a pinch and was so friendly, gracious, and responsible. We recently went abroad and forgot to notify our relatives, who had ordered some nice items for us off of our wedding registry. The package was going to be delivered while we were out of the country. I live in an apartment building that has a fair amount of theft, unfortunately, and was panicking that it would definitely be stolen while we were gone for a few weeks. I was able to reroute the package to the UPS store in Marina Village, but the UPS website informed me that I would have to pick it up within 7 days or it would be sent back. I called the store WHILE BOARDING A PLANE lol and Trina set aside my package and told me she would hold it for additional days for me at no cost. Furthermore, while we were abroad, I was notified that yet another package was going to be delivered from another relative! I wasn't able to call the UPS store directly but rerouted it in the app to Marina Village again, hoping they would recognize my name and that it would be OK. When I went to pick up the packages today, not only were both of them there, but they had been clearly labeled as "pending pickup" and had been set aside for me. Trina and the other staff at the store were so helpful to me. I rarely have to ship or receive items by courier, but if I do, I'll definitely return to the UPS in Marina Village again. read more

As some have mentioned, this location will not let you just drop off returns without receiving a receipt. While another location on the other side of the island at one point of time won't give you receipt because they just want you to drop off without bothering them. There were something like 8-10 people waiting in line outside, so I drove 1 minute to a box and dropped off. Imagine, an inanimate object and 1 driver doing almost the same job as 3 people in a UPS store. Then again, maybe these location have zero incentive to actual take your packages. I'm not sure how these business models work. I just know that when artificial intelligence and robotic automation make an even bigger impact, I will not miss going to UPS stores. Similar with banks, DMV, etc. Don't get me wrong, I spent years as hand made crafter competing with automation and overseas suppliers, but I honestly can say there are some things in this world that would be better off without dealing with people who probably shouldn't work in customer service. read more

This UPS Store is comically terrible. Watch out for lost packages! And DO NOT get a PO Box here if you need mail service to be reliable. This UPS Store has had its ownership turned over several times. Each recent owner has been absentee. And each subsequent new owner does not seem to realize its the "Center Manager", Erika, that's scaring the business away. The first time I visited this store, Erika was arguing with a customer while four other people were in line. UPS Stores have a partnership with Amazon in which they are supposed to receive and accept Amazon returns. The customer's 4-inch by 4-inch box was taped securely but only laterally (exactly how Amazon tapes boxes for shipment.) Erika was insisting the customer tape also horizontally, which was clearly redundant. But the real gotcha was that Erika was insisting that the customer pay $1.09 for the 6 inches tape. The customer was rightfully irritated. A crowd formed in the line as the argument escalated over the course of 15 minutes. The customer - who showed amazing restraint and composure in the face of Erika's rudeness - finally paid. I waited in line for 27 total minutes before being helped to mail a package. On my second visit to this store, I asked Erika to notarize a document. It was a one-of-a-kind document that was exceptionally important in both form and presentation. Erika (presumably a notary) signed the document in the spot I was supposed to sign as opposed to the enormous area indicated for the notary and the notary stamp. I had to scrap that document, order a new one created at some expense, and then return the following week when the new document arrived. On my third and fourth visits, I presented Erika with three packages for shipment. I, regrettably, did not ask for a receipt. Two (yes, two!) of these three packages were lost. On my fifth visit, I learned that Erika has a policy of charging $1 per USPS package or envelope that she accepts. She describes this as a "convenience fee". On my sixth visit, Erika said that UPS's systems were down nationwide and they weren't accepting any packages. I drove over to another UPS Store and they readily received my packages. I asked about the nationwide outage and they didn't know of any. On my seventh visit, I waited for 15 minutes as Erika argued with a PO Box holder. Apparently, they had lost two packages that this PO Box holder had tracking numbers as received by the UPS Store. On my eighth visit, I walked in to find Erika arguing with a customer who had apparently been charged $1 for each package they received to their PO Box over 15 packages. Erika showed the customer the fine print in the PO Box contract. Amazingly, this UPS Stores does make you agree to be charged $1 for each package received at this location! Erika's customer service skills are lacking, and her attention to detail is poor. I strongly recommend avoiding this store, and if you do use it, avoid leaving any important packages with Erika. PO Box service is unreliable. read more

Every time I come in she greets me with a smile and a positive attitude. No matter how busy the store gets, she always has everything under control and treats all the customers as if they're VIP's! There's always something with this store. The latest example was when I arrived at 11am on a Monday, and was told they weren't accepting anymore drop offs for the day. Other examples of their general awfulness- not accepting a drop off due to a coffee stain on an irrelevant part of the packing label, randomly closed during normal business hours, not offering an alternative to easily fixable issues but rather simply refusing to help, and so on. Just go to FEDEX, it's down the street, cleaner and much bigger. They're also way more helpful. Better yet, support the USPS on Webster. Be better UPS! read more

I have been coming to get documents notarized here for years, but today will be my last time ever coming here. -came to notarize some documents, and the main Asian notary lady dumped us off on a girl that didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. She obviously lacked confidence bc she did not want to help us. She also seemed unsure on basic verbiage of my documents. Was she even a licensed notary person?! Usually whenever I get items notarized, the notary person takes out their notary packet and starts preparing my documents. Not this girl bc she seemed lost. -this young girl was nice, but she just was not competent enough and I didn't feel comfortable putting my important legal documents in her hands to notarize. -she told me that I had to change and edit something on the document, so I told her I can put a line across it and initial. She said I cannot do that. WRONG! Then she said "well you don't have to drive all the way back to that state, you can just email them to edit the document."....... WOW NO KIDDING?! I can???? My mouth dropped to the ground because I couldn't believe she made that stupid air headed comment. -when she kept questioning basic verbiage on my document, I immediately took my documents back and just left because I didn't want to deal with her anymore. Right at that moment, I knew she didn't know what she was doing. Not worth my time if she screws up my stuff. -So unacceptable when you're relying on them to notarize important legal documents for you! -Total waste of time coming here, but luckily I went to the other UPS store on Blanding Avenue instead. Will not be coming back here again. The other people in the store are not always friendly or nice. Mostly rude. read more

Just walk right in, wait if there's a line, show ID and they will scan your mailing label, print out a receipt and you'll be out the door in 5 minutes (without a line). I love how easy it has been with the handful of times I've had to use them. As a side note, they also have notary services and you can also rent a box from them that uses a real street address versus a box number. read more

I have visited this place a few times for returns postage paid from stores and Amazon. Unfortunately my experience and comment are contrary to some of the reviews I have read. Aside from the service this UPS provides I have no idea what else and how effective and efficient they are. From some of the reviews, I have read I wish I was fortunate enough to have experienced it. Let me share my two cents worth. a) There may be 2 most times and sometimes 3. The person who processes the customer is only One Person regardless of when I went. The wait and the need to process at a certain speed could be daunting to any one person. Why is it that only one person is qualified to process. This one person appears to be either the owner or the supervisor. b) It is this supervisor type person's expectations that the customers are all the same and her expectations makes her come across as impatient when any mistakes are made. Any exception which happened to me twice in one return of few items where one QR code included more than one item. This was first time for me. The problem is that the QR case has to be made bigger so you do not see the trailing information which where the second or more items are listed. THsi leader person has a habit to sermonize the return process and fails to understand excatly wht the problem is. It is like one elementary explanation , liek she was reading a script. To get a box back from the bin was a major activity and I was told it is already gone. Hell has broken lose. It does not matter to her what she imparts in the customer, and I continue to go there. Which stop immediately. She made me feel disrespected, showed her callousness to customer service and I intend to look up the licensing agreement they may have direct or indirectly with UPS. Do not wait to encounter what I did, UPS should give more importance to those who return as this has to be a good revenue source for them and the customer should not be made to feel they are receiving free service. The manager is wrong in Dyson return! She said you have to open box and give to employees to inspect. . This was a hassle. Dyson instructions did not mention this. Then I had to repack in store and then come back Monday. System down!!. No way. I went to ups at other location. In and out in 2 min. Easy. No flack. No unpacking. Nothing. I remember same manager asked a lot of questions during Notary signing once. Took longer than usual I think I was lied to. I have a very close friend who owns a UPS store franchise in the central valley and I can tell you that the way the Marina Village store is run is complete crap and nowhere near UPS Store standards. Evidently this franchise owner doesn't give a rip about how this store is run. If you want a location where you pay for service but don't get it, do everything yourself, this is the location for you. The service here for Amazon returns is horrible and I don't recommend wasting time/energy bringing your return here. Immediately, the clerk here told me that I would need to purchase a box to return a mattress protector which I brought in a bag. I told her that in my experiences returning at Kohl's and other UPS locations (downtown Oakland and the UPS warehouse near Oakland airport) that this was never requested of me because they would usually find a box to package my stuff. Date: 6/20/2016 Time: 2:45 PM 72° Mostly sunny There have been times in the past that I stopped in at this UPS Store in search of shipping boxes about the size for shipping items such as DVD's, note cards, small bags of hard candy, etc. They never seem to have them in stock. I did not want to give them a two star rating because of the unavailability of a shipping box. C'mon, I am not that anal or petty. I have to look at the overall business to give it a fair rating. Going in and heading out in a matter of less than two minutes do not warrant a bad rating. Purpose of my visit: I had to stop in to have an outdated modem shipped back to AT&T. There were two people ahead of me in line. I was in no hurry to get something done. AAMOF, I even allowed another customer to get helped because she was in hurry. It was no sweat off of my back. Before I could even get the modem shipped, I had to provide my AT&T account number. Oops...my bad as I did not have it readily available. Okay, I had to make a quick exit to the car, retrieve my telephone bill and provide the information to the employee assisting me. Employee was cordial and pleasant. She processed the necessary paperwork for shipment of the modem. There was no need for me to place item in a box and pay for shipping. It was just drop off the modem, provide the account number, get a receipt for the transaction and out the door. The employee also mentioned that I keep the receipt for at least year as proof that the item will be shipped. Looking around in the store, they have office supplies, greeting cards and shipping supplies at hand for purchasing. It's a similar set up as the main USPS at Southshore Alameda, but the waiting time in line is shorter. read more
