Union Kitchen never disappoints! I love this location because it is located right on the lake in Towne Lake Boardwalk. The kids have a place to run around when they are done eating and us adults dont feel rushed to hurry up and finish because they can go outside and play and we can actually have eyes on them! The menu has a lot of options to choose from and everything have ordered so far is great every time. The restaurant is pretty big and they have lots of space for larger parties which is nice. UPDATE: Answer to the MANAGER: I'm a chef, so is my mother, and I make risotto all the time, that's why I ordered it!!!! I said that the "so called risotto" was made with some plain rice, and NOT MADE with ARBORIO! You sure missed some classes of text's interpretation! Gee!! With that said, I DO have lots of knowledge!! You forgot to justify the fruit FlLIES that were on our plate, and around us! You should clean your kitchen, the problem is there! Thank you! Server was excellent, but the food didn't meet our expectations at all. I ordered the "so called" risotto, which was a creamy rice, not arborio, which is used to make the real risotto. My husband had the scampi pasta which was overcooked. Other than that, there were lots of flies (not sure if it was drain or fruit ones), they were really small, and it kept bothering us thoughout dinner. I have patroned two other locations and this location is by far my favorite. They have an amazing patio, great service, and of course the food is excellent. I was not expecting my burger to be the size it was but it was huge and full of flavor. The side of hashbrowns were seasoned and baked to perfection. The only down side was the side of mixed fruit I order for my 7 month old niece. Most of the fruit was either not sweet or too hard. If I order a side of fruit again I will request raspberries and strawberries only as those where the only fruit she enjoyed. When you walk in the hostesses are friendly. Our waiter was great and the food came out fast. We had two other people I am assuming one was a manager who asked how everything was which I thought was nice since a lot of restaurants do not do anymore. I will be back for dinner soon. read more

The drinks were good, the food was great, but what really stood out to me the most was the exceptional customer service we received from Dessalyn. She was not only super friendly and knowledgeable, but she was also so attentive to our table, she answered all questions we had, and offered great options to try on the menu. We visited on a weekday so they weren't busy. We got a table right away. The food was okay, nothing spectacular. I asked for the burger not to be charred and it came charred, but they fixed it. The issue I had was the lemon we requested for the water had mold in it. Not a tiny spot but a a big area (1 lemon piece had the entire surface covered with mold, the 2nd one had half the surface covered with mold) and across several lemon pieces, and the server did not notice it. She replaced it when we asked but did not act surprised and did not apologize. It's scary that they do not inspect the food that was coming out to the tables. read more

Our waiter recommended the build your own mimosa with the fresh squeezed watermelon juice which was great! We ordered appetizers; hummus, churro donut holes and deviled eggs. They were all really tasty. We all ordered from the brunch menu and our only complaint was the crab cake Beni was a little too fishy. Did not need a knife, was so tender and was paired with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. My husband had the shrimp and grits and that was delicious as well. Perfect balance of sweet and spice. Not too bad Union kitchen.. I had the pleasure of witnessing great service and great atmosphere. Now to the rough part... Me and 2 other girlfriends were actually waiting to get into Ambriza but unfortunately there was over an hour wait. So we ordered cocktails and wine while waiting. I decided to try their smoked old fashion. I have to say the smoke old fashion was not very good at all and wondered why it was considered a "smoked" old fashion. I didnt see the bartenders smoke my orange peel or anything when making this timeless drink. Major let down.. Also, my friend ordered the crab cakes.. OVERPRICED. Over $13 for 2 small crab cakes. Myself- I spent over $20 for a mediocre glass of red wine and a weak smoked "old fashion. I would come back for another try of their food. I hear good things. read more

We've been to Memorial and Kingwood locations and have thoroughly enjoyed it. We came around brunch time and there was no wait yayyyy! We were seated in a booth, atmosphere was calm, no chaos. We ordered the union breakfast and chicken fried chicken( special request, thanks for making that happen chef!) eggs, potatoes and biscuit w/gravy. GRAVY was sooooo delicious! I dipped EVERYTHING in it lol. I placed an order of cinnamon rolls to go and I didn't quite like the texture and flavor so I asked Mary for extra icing to make them not so dry. Mary took my to-go plate to the the managers and I watched as they gathered to do a taste test and further collaborate about this dilemma lol. Love it!! How often do you see a TEAM of managers and staff working together to make sure the food they are producing is QUALITY?????? Manager David came over and told me they would remake it plus he took it off the check AND gave me a $10 coupon. I hate complaining and I explained that to him. His reply: "If customers dont tell us what's wrong then we won't know what to fix." What a BOSS!!!! All managers should model that philosophy. If you need to escape the city and want to drive to a place right by the water try Union Kitchen on Towne Lake Boardwalk .Patrick was our favorite waiter at the Memorial location so when we heard he moved to Cypress we decided to check this location. Patrick was right on when he recommended the Cypress salad with mixed greens, oranges apples ,feta ,strawberries candied pecans, and garbanzo beans in a blueberry vinaigrette. What an amazing dish to end the summer (With additions of chicken and salmon ) If you are a carnivore they even can add a hanger steak fillet. This is our fourth visit here and third time with Zanetta, their waitress. Zanetta makes us feel welcome and her service is impeccable. We ordered bang bang shrimp and voodoo balls for appetizers and thin crust mushroom pizza and daily special, ahi tuna on snow peas with pineapple and Avocado topping. The voodoo balls were new to us and we really enjoyed them. As to bang bang shrimp, Bonefish Grill can't be beaten. The pizza crust with cauliflower was very good. They should have put the sauce they served with it on the side because over time, the sauce made the crust soft. The ahi tuna was not only beautiful to look at, it was delicious.
