I tried the happy hour drinks strawberry grapefruit spritz. It tasted a bit bitter and I couldn't really taste the strawberry at all just mostly syrup. I tried the food and it was on the bland side which if you're trying to eat healthy this could be a good thing.

Using Waze this is a hard place to find as it is behind office buildings not on the feeder as the address suggests. Further finding outdoor parking is not possible at a peak hour but note that there is an easily accessible parking garage. This Treebeards appearance was very pretty (not what I was expecting giving my experience with the downtown location and I am not sure that it is still around). Also, some other nice restaurants in this block. The restaurant was packed with professionally dressed people. The waiter took our order, and he was accommodating to substitutions and our selection of side orders. I got fried catfish. This is not a normal selection for me as I will normally avoid fried foods other than fries and chips (yes, and I wonder why I do not lose the 5 lbs. that I need to lose). Service was quick and our order was perfect. The friend catfish was outstanding as it was right out of the fryer. It was a very pleasant experience and I would happily go back.

Eat, Drink, HTX…read more Made a reservation for a Sunday night dinner for three. The restaurant is so cute and cozy with tables and booths. Lots of TVs to watch the Olympic Games while you wait for dinner. I liked watching the open pizza oven. They make a lot of pizzas here. The Eat, Drink, HTX menus are a great way to try new restaurants while giving back to the Houston Food Bank. A starter, an entree and a dessert. $25 for dinner. So many choices on this menu. A great deal while helping out those in need. "Started" with the Turkey Samosas. Four crispy pastries that are filled with seasoned ground turkey, potatoes and parsley served with cucumber yogurt. Delicious! The Ember & Greens Soup that my family had was hot, hot, hot and so tasty. The fresh soup was filled with a blend of spinach, parsley, and cilantro with chickpeas, caramelized onions, pinto beans and quinoa. My FIL polished off his bowl! For dinner, we all had the Blackened Salmon. The salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa served on roasted carrots, broccoli and potatoes and a bed of quinoa. It was a full plate, which we all took home for dinner the next day. Note: it is quite buttery. My FIL had his butter and avocado salsa on the side which worked for him. I loved mine as is. Even though we were pretty full, we still enjoyed dessert. The tiramisu was so indulgent. Loved the layered mascarpone custard, whipped cream, coffee liqueur and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. My FLI had the Chia Seed Pudding with fresh berries. What a great meal. We had a slight hiccup where the appetizers came slightly after the main meal was served, but they were so honest about what happened that I still have to give them five stars for their food and their service. Would try them again for their generous, delicious meals. Lots of parking. Water glasses were frequently filled both with and without meals. Thank you for a really nice Sunday night dinner with family.

It was a beautiful day, so it would have been the perfect day to eat outside if you like that. I'm an eat indoors kind of person, but if you like to eat outside, they do have a few tables for that. I was meeting a friend for lunch and she suggested Ember & Green. We really couldn't decide what to order, so we decided to order a few things and share them. We started off with the Persian Cucumber Sald. It had Persian cucumbers, heirloom cherry tomatoes, red onions, and Kalamata olives with oil and lemon dressing and topped with parsley and feta cheese. Let me tell you, thats lemon dressing was delicious! It went so well with the cucumbers. Next we ordered Blackened salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa, served with charred broccolini, roasted carrots and potatoes on a bed of cilantro green pea quinoa. I'm really not a huge fan of salmon, but I'm trying to like it more by trying it different ways. The spices that they put on the salmon were really good, not too spicy, but also, not bland. It was also cooked perfectly. Oh, and that lemon butter... that lemon butter made the meal if you ask me. It was so good. So good in fact, I had to try and make salmon with lemon butter at him the very next week. Mine didn't come out as good as Ember & Greens, but it was decent. That just means that I need to leave the cooking to the professional. For dessert we decided to share the Skillet Cookie. Its a house made chocolate chip cookie baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with Amy's Mexican Vanilla Ice Cream and chocolate sauce. This was the only thing that we ordered that was a nope. I dont know what happened, but it didn't seem like it was cooked at all in the middle. We took a few bites, that was all we could eat of it. All and all, it was a good experience and I will go back. I'll just skip dessert next time.

Every drink was flavorful, well balanced, and strong without being overpowering. The flight was a great way to try multiple flavors. For appetizers, the salmon bites were seasoned perfectly and fried just right -- crispy on the outside and tender inside. They came with a chipotle aioli, which was already fire, but dipping them in the bourbon glaze took them to another level. The chicken tacos were fully loaded, flavorful, and definitely didn't miss. The entrees were the real stars. The oxtails with cabbage and rice were absolutely amazing -- fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. Easily my favorite dish of the night. The southern fried chicken plate was also top tier and came with three sides: mashed potatoes, yams, and mac and cheese. All three sides were seasoned well and tasted like true comfort food. To top it all off, Friday night karaoke made the experience even better. 504 Karaoke brought great energy, good music, and fun vibes in between sets, which kept the atmosphere lively all night. Between the food, drinks, and entertainment, Konami Bar & Grill delivered a great overall experience. I'd definitely recommend this spot for a fun night out with good food and great vibes, and I'll absolutely be back.

We ordered two galbi premium boxes around 1 pm on a weekday and it took about 15-20 minutes for them to prepare it. They were also out of kimbop at that time. We brought the food home and it was still warm after the drive. Every single part of the box was DELICIOUS. We ate our boxes fully clean because of how good it was. The galbi has an authentic taste and they gave quite a few pieces so I was very full. I loved the shrimp on top of the rice and wish they gave even more haha. All of the sides paired so well with the meat and I hope they come out with the sides individualy so we can buy some to go next time as well. All in all this place is AMAZING and so delicious. Can't wait to go back and try everything!!

They also had little sides in the fridge that you could buy like Kim chi. It is presented like a bento box and trust me the amount of food is plenty for one person. I tried the bulgogi premium and the japchae in it was the best I've ever had. It had lots of flavor and was mixed very well with veggies. I wasn't a fan of those little anchovies (the texture was off putting). They were hard little fish. The bulgogi was fresh but a bit dry for my palate. I loved their purple rice and Kim chi. I also tried their beef gimbap. It was tasty but I think the flavor would be elevated if there was some type of sauce with it.

I don't think I've ever consumed so much shrimp paste in my life, so if you don't like that flavor you probably wanna go elsewhere, but other than that everything was just really comforting and nice to eat. My least favorite of what we got was the Banh Bot Chien, and even that was still really good and had a nice crunch. Everything else we ordered was all really authentic and very forward with flavor. The restaurant was incredibly busy on the Saturday we went, with the bustling lunch crowd of both large families and old couples filling up the entire restaurant, so try to go at an off-hour where most people aren't eating. It was just an incredible experience that I 100% recommend to anyone wanting authentic Vietnamese food.

I've been going here for several years, both in person and for take-outs, and they have never failed to impress me. I like to go here for late lunch or early dinner when the restaurant isn't as busy. The restaurant is in the same shopping center as the Chase Bank and Thanh Da Quan. Even though it's located on the far side of Chinatown near My Hoa Market, the drive is definitely worth it. The restaurant is small and well decorated, and the workers are nice. The dishes are a bit pricey compared to other Vietnamese restaurants for the portion size, but the taste and quality definitely make it worth it. Even my parents, who are super picky when it comes to Vietnamese restaurants, love the food at Com Nieu Houston. Like the name, most of the dishes here are in clay pots. Everything is always super flavorful and perfectly cooked. My absolute favorites are the Thit Ba Chi Kho To (caramelized pork belly), the Suon Non Rim To (braised spare ribs) and the Canh Chua Tom (Vietnamese sweet and sour soup with shrimps). I also really love their Com Chien Ca Man (salted fish & chicken fried rice), which I think is one of the best in town, as well as their Ga Kho Xa Ot (braised lemongrass chicken). The Ca Bong Lau Kho To (caramelized catfish) is my parents' favorite. Photos are from my most recent visit.

At this particular location, my girlfriend and I showed up at 8:40pm for dinner and were sat in the back in front of the bar where nobody else was seated. The waitress took our drink order and didn't bring our drinks for 10 minutes. Instead, she was at the bar yapping with the bartender and other bar patrons. When she finally brought our drinks, the ice was melted in both drinks. She then came and took our order which was spinach dip for the appetizer, chicken tenders + 8oz top sirloin steak w/ fries & mashed potatoes, and chicken fried chicken with broccoli & cheddar and loaded mashed potatoes. The drinks still sat with melted ice. I tried getting her attention multiple times but she was still hanging out at the bar. I then turned on the "Call Server" option on the Ziosk which also got ignored. I finally went to the bar and asked for new drinks which the server brought several minutes later and blamed it on "being hot" in the restaurant. Eventually our food arrived. My steak was dry and overly seasoned with some gross spices. The broccoli and cheddar was thick and looked old. My girlfriend said the chicken tasted gross. To top that off, the server forgot about the appetizer and had the audacity to still bring it out with our main meals at room temperature. We ended up leaving everything barely eaten, paid for our food and left. Also, the men's restroom smelled wreaked like marijuana. Never again. Trash food and trash service.
