    The perfectly clean glasses

So much better than other options in Kalama, Willie Dicks was awful. This place is nice, fast and classy. The glasses are perfectly clean. Not a smudge!

Empty chardonnay glass because it was so yummy.

Great new spot in downtown Kalama! My parents brought me here while I was headed down to Portland. Yummy apps and great drinks. The owners are very helpful with picking drinks and sampling. We left with empty glasses, empty plates and full bellies. Downtown Kalama is so cute and perfect for this place. Stop by the next time you are heading south!

Interesting update for Ahles Point Cabin = the musical genre has changed - It is no longer *100% Grateful Dead, but an eclectic mix of fabulous vibes, from The Police to Wilco, Impossible Germany - to everything in between- (Wilco is worth looking up). So yes, we do recommend spending time here. ** I wish they had lounge chairs.

Unfortunately, it's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so we planned to visit later in the afternoon on Wednesday. When we arrived, the parking area was empty. I walked up to the front door and stepped inside. I immediately noticed the fire crackling in the fireplace. I told the staff member I'd be right back after getting my wife. At the time, the only person inside was the McMenamins employee. The space itself is small and cozy, with two booths, about four tables, and seating for around five at the bar. There's also outdoor seating with a fireplace, though it wasn't lit during our visit. When my wife came in, she was absolutely delighted. She walked straight over and stood in front of the fire, soaking it in. We took seats at the bar near the fireplace and asked about their offerings. The bartender provided menus, which feature a small but appealing selection of appetizers, pizzas, subs, and desserts, along with a modest drink list. We'd already eaten, but I ordered a pint of their Hammerhead. As we sat by the fire, we chatted with the bartender/server, who shared a bit about the place and the nearby Kalama Harbor Lodge. A few other groups came in while we were there, but after I finished my beer, we decided to head out. Overall, we both thought this was a really charming little spot, warm, welcoming, and well worth checking out. Highly recommend!

A special shoutout to our server, Robin, who handled our party of 35 people incredibly well. She was organized, attentive, and kept everything running seamlessly. Intentionally set earlier in the day understanding the significance of the day. (Been together over 20 years.) When we arrived my husband kindly requested a window table with view of the water. The woman taking the reservation info advised that she would try, but "so busy" etc. We were sat at a half circular booth that was facing water but set back from water. I just want to note there were 7 tables open at window seating. 3 of which were 2 tops. We did have 3, so essentially for us, 4 EMPTY tables could have accommodated our request. 2 remained empty the entirety of our meal. So I just can't understand why this request wouldn't be granted. Waitress we were assigned was amazing. On top of things, refills etc. We got the wing appetizer, cheese curds, and the wedge salad as appetizers. They were all good. The wings I would get with no sauce. The sauce on them was very ketchup reminiscent. For the entrees we both did the steak frites. Fries were amazing. The steak was sooooo tough. Medium rare didn't save them. Our child got the half pizza and demolished. For dessert we got the cookie with ice cream and the valentines special cheesecake. Both were delicious. Overall 3.5. Could use some help at front. If you don't realize you have that many free tables and could easily accommodate a paying customer the table they prefer, it just simply doesn't make sense. At the end, I did ask manager why we wouldn't be able to sit where we requested and there really was just no good reason. It was just a shrug like it was a busy day. Like I guess maybe saving for make believe guests?? LOL unreal. It's not often I would question things. But this was just absurd. Again, I need to say, our waitress was amazing. Food was fine. Just a very weird experience as far as seating. Like who are you saving those seats for?? Anywho. Enjoy!

Walk up order at window, pickup our order when they yell your name at window but ASKED for a tip. They didn't get one. Two of us shared the one meal (mostly because of price for us as we havee a limited budget and had never been there so didn't know what to expect. It was enough for both of us to be very satisfied!) Ambiance: this is a great place. My 2nd time there and lots to see. Indoor seating. Don't like "community bathrooms" but places have to make space for those who don't know which bathroom to use, I understand. Outdoor beer garden and had live music tonight! The fish market next door is a place to visit just to be overwhelmed!! I will be ordering all fish from here in the future.
