Big bar and dining area fun decor
    Emerald B.

This is a hometown bar with a lot of charm and character. Offer a large selection of beers and spirits and cocktails. Service is prompt and the food menu is small but it's good! Bartenders really take care of their customers and try to make them feel at home. Locals all hangout here and know everyone and the bar really has a friendly vibe. A lot of fun events are held here including paint classes, line dancing classes, always a fun party for most holidays, neighborhood jam sessions, music, karaoke, all the fun things!

Good road side dive bar. The waitstaff is always attentive and pleasant. The local Patrons seem to be friendly. Free popcorn. :)

Lots of things... * Staff is REMARKABLY friendly and personable * They are equally attentive and professional * The patrons were awesome, seriously. I came here alone, and no fewer than three people, each in completely different parties, approached and engaged me in conversation. This seemed like a bunch of regulars who welcome newcomers as family. The menu is much larger than expected for a bar. I opted for the pulled pork sliders, and they were FAR better than expected. The rolls were the most surprising part, they were fantastic! I don't know if they're baked on-site, but they're definitely not typical "get the job done" fare, they were superb. "Slider" also seemed to be a bit misleading because they're so generously stuffed with pork and cole slaw that they're closer to a full-sized sandwich. Prices belie the quality and portion sizes (much lower prices than I'd expect). The only minor gripe is that there are not a lot of good seats for seeing bands perform. The bar area is narrow and long, which doesn't lend itself well to seeing performances, but I was still able to do so, and the friendliness of the staff and other patrons (again, AMAZING surprise) really seemed to make up for this.

We…read morespent the better part of a Friday afternoon down at the Cowlitz River - sitting on the beach and walking through the water. We had planned to hit a local pizza joint before coming home as we traditionally have pizza on Friday nights. Planning ahead, I found The Oasis and looking at reviews and pics, decided to try it. Boy ... are certainly glad we did! Looking at it from the outside, it looks more like a regular bar than a family-friendly bar/grill/restaurant. However, there is a sign that says children are welcome. We've got two boys under the age of six and our waitress was wonderful with them. She was friendly to us all, made sure we all had what we needed throughout the night, and was understanding of the "immediate" needs of the kids. Ha! The food was amazing! The pizza was straight out a real Midwestern style of pizza --- with the toppings underneath the cheese! Living most of our lives in IL and MN, we know what's what. The crust was crimped and just perfect - crispy on the outer edges and chewy on the inside. It was also crisp enough on the bottom that the pieces didn't sag or fall apart with picking it up. We ordered two pizzas, one sausage and one just cheese. They both were great. The sausage tasted amazingly fresh and I wondered if they got it from a local butcher, it was so tender and flavorful. With the cheese being spread out all over the top of the pizza (remember, on top of the toppings), it was deliciously golden brown and not overly greasy. We also ordered a side of Mini Corn Dogs for the boys and they both liked them. Which, for those of you with kids, if both give it a thumbs up then you're in business. =) As for tasty beverages, they've got a selection of about 20 or so beers to choose from. We had the Scottish Red Ale and the African Amber. Oh my! They were soooo good. If I didn't have to drive 30 minutes home, I would've definitely gotten a third! We saw on their menu that they offer "take and bake" pizzas as well. After getting just a few slices through our meal, we flagged the waitress down and ordered two pizzas to go. We threw them in the freezer when we got home and have had both since then. They last just fine in the two weeks since we got them (baked at 425 degrees from frozen for about 20-ish minutes). All in all, we had a perfect time at The Oasis Bar. They are, hands-down, the BEST pizza we've had while living in Lewis and Thurston Counties! It's about a 35 minutes drive from home ... but well worth it. We will absolutely be back!

Unfortunately, it's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so we planned to visit later in the afternoon on Wednesday. When we arrived, the parking area was empty. I walked up to the front door and stepped inside. I immediately noticed the fire crackling in the fireplace. I told the staff member I'd be right back after getting my wife. At the time, the only person inside was the McMenamins employee. The space itself is small and cozy, with two booths, about four tables, and seating for around five at the bar. There's also outdoor seating with a fireplace, though it wasn't lit during our visit. When my wife came in, she was absolutely delighted. She walked straight over and stood in front of the fire, soaking it in. We took seats at the bar near the fireplace and asked about their offerings. The bartender provided menus, which feature a small but appealing selection of appetizers, pizzas, subs, and desserts, along with a modest drink list. We'd already eaten, but I ordered a pint of their Hammerhead. As we sat by the fire, we chatted with the bartender/server, who shared a bit about the place and the nearby Kalama Harbor Lodge. A few other groups came in while we were there, but after I finished my beer, we decided to head out. Overall, we both thought this was a really charming little spot, warm, welcoming, and well worth checking out. Highly recommend!

The shrimp were indeed crispy & very good, as was the entire meal & well worth the extra $1.99! Service was good as well. I didn't get her name, but she said she had been there quite a while. Generally speaking, the food is good and we order a whole lot for our table(s) of 6 including drinks and desserts. The kids meals are a solid value - big portions of chicken strips and fries, and another with a grilled cheese and lots of tater tots. The bougie chicken bacon alfredo mac came on a big ole plate and kid #1 who ordered it, says it is very good. Myself and a friend split a Forester burger -- it comes a side, we chose onion rings, and while the burger is great (caramelized onion and gorgonzola are a fire combination), the onion rings were way overcooked to the point there was almost no onion left in the batter lol (saaaad). Kids # 2 and 3 order happy hour mozzarella sticks, soft pretzels, and panko shrimp. Everything is good according to the children and their limited taste buds. Adults order cocktails which are light on alcohol (sad face) but heavy on delicious flavors! Desserts for 3 kids, everyone says everything is great. Beyond the hollow onion rings, our service was a bit sub-par this time around. Kid #2 spilled his entire drink and while we got some help from the server in the form of bringing more napkins to the table, server girl did nothing about the lake of dr pepper on the floor below it. It was disappointing, not gonna lie. Kids are annoying, I get it, but we had to sit with our shoes in this mess. It dried enough in some spots that our shoes were literally sticking to the ground. Server girl also forgot to put the order in for the panko shrimp sooo kid #2 thought he was being punished because he got his shrimp after everyone else practically finished their meals lol. Our tab was close to 200 bucks. I cringe super hard at the thought of paying half that bill, and tipping fairly, if only because my shoe almost came off my foot when I finally stood up to leave. Dr Pepper almost got me.
