I came here alone, and no fewer than three people, each in completely different parties, approached and engaged me in conversation. This seemed like a bunch of regulars who welcome newcomers as family. The menu is much larger than expected for a bar. I opted for the pulled pork sliders, and they were FAR better than expected. The rolls were the most surprising part, they were fantastic! I don't know if they're baked on-site, but they're definitely not typical "get the job done" fare, they were superb. "Slider" also seemed to be a bit misleading because they're so generously stuffed with pork and cole slaw that they're closer to a full-sized sandwich. Prices belie the quality and portion sizes (much lower prices than I'd expect). The only minor gripe is that there are not a lot of good seats for seeing bands perform. The bar area is narrow and long, which doesn't lend itself well to seeing performances, but I was still able to do so, and the friendliness of the staff and other patrons (again, AMAZING surprise) really seemed to make up for this.

An additional violation was given because the inspector found rat droppings in the back shed where the freezer is located, as well as a "dead, dedicated" rat in a trap. The bartender provided menus, which feature a small but appealing selection of appetizers, pizzas, subs, and desserts, along with a modest drink list. We'd already eaten, but I ordered a pint of their Hammerhead. As we sat by the fire, we chatted with the bartender/server, who shared a bit about the place and the nearby Kalama Harbor Lodge.
