Go here every time we visit from Southern Oregon - always been pretty good. In on a Sunday evening for 4 people. Waiter was nice and took drink order.....all good. Ordered dinner and everything went south. 4 orders - 3 delivered by someone else - not our server. After about 10 minutes had to get waiters attention and ask about missing item. After "checking" reported wrong meat had been put on the reuben and would be a minute. Upon arrival fries were cold and cheese had congealed. Not really enticing. Other meals: Onion rings soft and " bready" - not crisp. Wings marketed as garlic parmesan.... Overcooked and dry. Parmesan cheese was just sprinkled over wings so when one was picked up the cheese just fell off into the basket. Fish and chips were small "fishsticks" and very disappointing for the price. Sadly, probably the last time we will visit. Even more disappointing for the locals that brought us. Sigh. read more

We had absolutely wonderful experience at The Oasis Bar and highly recommend it to anyone! We spent the better part of a Friday afternoon down at the Cowlitz River - sitting on the beach and walking through the water. We had planned to hit a local pizza joint before coming home as we traditionally have pizza on Friday nights. Planning ahead, I found The Oasis and looking at reviews and pics, decided to try it. Boy ... are certainly glad we did! Looking at it from the outside, it looks more like a regular bar than a family-friendly bar/grill/restaurant. However, there is a sign that says children are welcome. We've got two boys under the age of six and our waitress was wonderful with them. She was friendly to us all, made sure we all had what we needed throughout the night, and was understanding of the "immediate" needs of the kids. Ha! The food was amazing! The pizza was straight out a real Midwestern style of pizza --- with the toppings underneath the cheese! Living most of our lives in IL and MN, we know what's what. The crust was crimped and just perfect - crispy on the outer edges and chewy on the inside. It was also crisp enough on the bottom that the pieces didn't sag or fall apart with picking it up. We ordered two pizzas, one sausage and one just cheese. They both were great. The sausage tasted amazingly fresh and I wondered if they got it from a local butcher, it was so tender and flavorful. With the cheese being spread out all over the top of the pizza (remember, on top of the toppings), it was deliciously golden brown and not overly greasy. We also ordered a side of Mini Corn Dogs for the boys and they both liked them. Which, for those of you with kids, if both give it a thumbs up then you're in business. =) As for tasty beverages, they've got a selection of about 20 or so beers to choose from. We had the Scottish Red Ale and the African Amber. Oh my! They were soooo good. If I didn't have to drive 30 minutes home, I would've definitely gotten a third! We saw on their menu that they offer "take and bake" pizzas as well. After getting just a few slices through our meal, we flagged the waitress down and ordered two pizzas to go. We threw them in the freezer when we got home and have had both since then. They last just fine in the two weeks since we got them (baked at 425 degrees from frozen for about 20-ish minutes). All in all, we had a perfect time at The Oasis Bar. They are, hands-down, the BEST pizza we've had while living in Lewis and Thurston Counties! It's about a 35 minutes drive from home ... but well worth it. We will absolutely be back! read more

What a cool little spot! We dined at Oasis with the Growlers Gulch Trail group and it definitely didn't disappoint! Working on biking trails give you a reason to carb load too. Terrifically friendly servers, extensive menu, lively atmosphere and tasty food. We shared the fried raviolis with marinara = really good. Mr. Wonderful had the black and blue burger with fries and enjoyed it. I ordered the Monte Cristo (gasp). Generous portions, I could only eat half. Simple starts, the (city) water doesn't taste bad! They've got some rather tasty sounding beverages: non-alcoholic & alcoholic. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with toasted marble bread rather than grilled - tasty! The sauce, or perhaps it was liquid from the sauerkraut became a bit runny- thank goodness for the tabletop napkin dispenser :) But then, by the time I got around to eating the 2nd half of my Reuben, the bottom was a tad bit soggy; regardless - it was good. The potato salad was EXCELLENT! The potatoes were smaller pieces, making the salad easier to eat, & they were cooked to just the right texture- not mushy nor crunchy. The flavor was amazingly rich & creamy! And not a whole lot of onion either, which can easily overwhelm the amazing creamy flavors. I could also taste hard boiled egg within - numO! When I return, the potato salad is going to be a must have along with a sandwich or burger or just because . The staff was prompt, friendly & stayed very busy. Our waitress (I think her name is Tina) was very personable, efficient and seemed genuinely happy to work here. We ordered the chicken fried breakfast and French toast on brioche with bacon, all cooked perfectly. What we didn't care for was the lighting. It was so dark in there. When we think of breakfast, we're more in the mood for a lighter and brighter start to the day. A place you can drink your coffee and wake up rather than wanting to find a corner to nap in. The chicken parm was very bland, the Alfredo was tasty, the PNW burger was good and the fish and chips were just ok. The coleslaw was so bland it shouldn't be called coleslaw. Three of us are prior chefs and we all said the same thing. If you would add a small amount of red wine vinegar, a pinch of sugar and some celery seeds and salt and pepper, it would be fantastic! We initially stopped in Castle Rock to get sandwiches and gas (driving from Seattle to Portland) and we got redirected to the Oasis Bar as the sandwich place was closed due to Covid. We met Robin who was BEYOND hospitable and passionate about what she does. I am not sure if and when we will ever be back in Castle Rock, but you better believe if we are... we will be stopping into see Robin and the Oasis. PS. Yummo! Stopped off in Castle Rock for something different but decided to try the oasis. I am so glad we did. My husband had the halibut fish and chip special and I had the steak dinner special. Very generous portions, great prices and fantastic food. My steak cut like a stick of butter. The halibut was hand dipped on site. The sauces were also delicious, but the food stood on its own. I lived in Castle Rock for a few years once upon a time and honestly never had a desire to go to the Oasis Tavern. Heard it was a dive bar, kinda sketchy, not real clean, etc. so when a friend ate there a week ago and RAVED about it, I decided it was time to check it out. Yes, it's under new ownership within the past year and yes they've cleaned it up, brightened it up, and expanded but it's the food that steals the show! I'm honestly not sure I've ever had a burger that good. Maybe it was the bacon jam but I'm telling you at first bite, the flavors just exploded in my mouth. In addition they have these little "pillows" of awesomeness called Stuffed Tater Kegs that you simply must experience. Nice little back yard area, a really great staff that made us feel like family and took excellent care of us and all at a reasonable price. We just may have a new favorite spot to gather! read more

We wandered off of I-5 to check out Castle Rock and ended up at the Oasis. It's hard to classify, it's more than just a local bar, but also a perfect local bar. Good food, not at all pretentious, friendly staff. The Parmesan garlic wings were terrific - so much fresh garlic, some of the best wings I've had. The fried pickles were great too. I love cheese curds and they didn't disappoint. Popper egg rolls were delicious and a unique fusion idea. I would have liked them spicier but that's my personal preference. For entrees I had the Diablo burger and the wife had the chicken Alfredo. Both were fantastic. Went here the other night for a drink. There's was 2 people working, only about 8-10 people in the bar. Not only did it take 10+ minutes to get served, but i was standing in front of the till waiting. The servers walked by me multiple times without saying a word.
