We had absolutely wonderful experience at The Oasis Bar and highly recommend it to anyone! We spent the better part of a Friday afternoon down at the Cowlitz River - sitting on the beach and walking through the water. We had planned to hit a local pizza joint before coming home as we traditionally have pizza on Friday nights. Planning ahead, I found The Oasis and looking at reviews and pics, decided to try it. Boy ... are certainly glad we did! Looking at it from the outside, it looks more like a regular bar than a family-friendly bar/grill/restaurant. However, there is a sign that says children are welcome. We've got two boys under the age of six and our waitress was wonderful with them. She was friendly to us all, made sure we all had what we needed throughout the night, and was understanding of the "immediate" needs of the kids. Ha! The food was amazing! The pizza was straight out a real Midwestern style of pizza --- with the toppings underneath the cheese! Living most of our lives in IL and MN, we know what's what. The crust was crimped and just perfect - crispy on the outer edges and chewy on the inside. It was also crisp enough on the bottom that the pieces didn't sag or fall apart with picking it up. We ordered two pizzas, one sausage and one just cheese. They both were great. The sausage tasted amazingly fresh and I wondered if they got it from a local butcher, it was so tender and flavorful. With the cheese being spread out all over the top of the pizza (remember, on top of the toppings), it was deliciously golden brown and not overly greasy. We also ordered a side of Mini Corn Dogs for the boys and they both liked them. Which, for those of you with kids, if both give it a thumbs up then you're in business. =) As for tasty beverages, they've got a selection of about 20 or so beers to choose from. We had the Scottish Red Ale and the African Amber. Oh my! They were soooo good. If I didn't have to drive 30 minutes home, I would've definitely gotten a third! We saw on their menu that they offer "take and bake" pizzas as well. After getting just a few slices through our meal, we flagged the waitress down and ordered two pizzas to go. We threw them in the freezer when we got home and have had both since then. They last just fine in the two weeks since we got them (baked at 425 degrees from frozen for about 20-ish minutes). All in all, we had a perfect time at The Oasis Bar. They are, hands-down, the BEST pizza we've had while living in Lewis and Thurston Counties! It's about a 35 minutes drive from home ... but well worth it. We will absolutely be back! read more

What a cool little spot! We dined at Oasis with the Growlers Gulch Trail group and it definitely didn't disappoint! Working on biking trails give you a reason to carb load too. Terrifically friendly servers, extensive menu, lively atmosphere and tasty food. We shared the fried raviolis with marinara = really good. Mr. Wonderful had the black and blue burger with fries and enjoyed it. I ordered the Monte Cristo (gasp). Generous portions, I could only eat half. Simple starts, the (city) water doesn't taste bad! They've got some rather tasty sounding beverages: non-alcoholic & alcoholic. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with toasted marble bread rather than grilled - tasty! The sauce, or perhaps it was liquid from the sauerkraut became a bit runny- thank goodness for the tabletop napkin dispenser :) But then, by the time I got around to eating the 2nd half of my Reuben, the bottom was a tad bit soggy; regardless - it was good. The potato salad was EXCELLENT! The potatoes were smaller pieces, making the salad easier to eat, & they were cooked to just the right texture- not mushy nor crunchy. The flavor was amazingly rich & creamy! And not a whole lot of onion either, which can easily overwhelm the amazing creamy flavors. I could also taste hard boiled egg within - numO! When I return, the potato salad is going to be a must have along with a sandwich or burger or just because . The staff was prompt, friendly & stayed very busy. First time to give The Oasis a try. Great breakfast menu! Our food was delicious and prices per quantity are very reasonable. Our waitress (I think her name is Tina) was very personable, efficient and seemed genuinely happy to work here. We ordered the chicken fried breakfast and French toast on brioche with bacon, all cooked perfectly. What we didn't care for was the lighting. It was so dark in there. When we think of breakfast, we're more in the mood for a lighter and brighter start to the day. A place you can drink your coffee and wake up rather than wanting to find a corner to nap in. If they could wait sometime after lunch to low the lights, it might help bump the restaurant revenue by bringing in diners that want to come back. read more

The chicken parm was very bland, the Alfredo was tasty, the PNW burger was good and the fish and chips were just ok. The coleslaw was so bland it shouldn't be called coleslaw. However, after my second beer, a different server asked us if we wanted anything else, we replied "not right now", so she immediately printed our check and no one checked in with us again, I mean they wouldn't even make eye contact with us (believe me, I tried for about 30 minutes). Yummo! Stopped off in Castle Rock for something different but decided to try the oasis. I am so glad we did. My husband had the halibut fish and chip special and I had the steak dinner special. Very generous portions, great prices and fantastic food. My steak cut like a stick of butter. The halibut was hand dipped on site. The sauces were also delicious, but the food stood on its own. I lived in Castle Rock for a few years once upon a time and honestly never had a desire to go to the Oasis Tavern. Heard it was a dive bar, kinda sketchy, not real clean, etc. so when a friend ate there a week ago and RAVED about it, I decided it was time to check it out. Yes, it's under new ownership within the past year and yes they've cleaned it up, brightened it up, and expanded but it's the food that steals the show! I'm honestly not sure I've ever had a burger that good. Maybe it was the bacon jam but I'm telling you at first bite, the flavors just exploded in my mouth. In addition they have these little "pillows" of awesomeness called Stuffed Tater Kegs that you simply must experience. We wandered off of I-5 to check out Castle Rock and ended up at the Oasis. It's hard to classify, it's more than just a local bar, but also a perfect local bar. Good food at very reasonable prices and lots of options! They have a great drink selection also with a bunch of beers on tap. Our appetizers were cheese curds and jalapeño popper egg rolls. I love cheese curds and they didn't disappoint. Popper egg rolls were delicious and a unique fusion idea. I would have liked them spicier but that's my personal preference. For entrees I had the Diablo burger and the wife had the chicken Alfredo. Both were fantastic. This place is a gem and the staff was super friendly, attentive, and made excellent recommendations for our first time there. Went here the other night for a drink. There's was 2 people working, only about 8-10 people in the bar. Not only did it take 10+ minutes to get served, but i was standing in front of the till waiting. The servers walked by me multiple times without saying a word. I wish I could leave zero stars. I have never been embarrassed or insulted as much in my life as I was here this evening. My wife works at a local bar by this one and is sick with covid unfortunately. We are both fully vaccinated and she was one of the unlucky ones to catch it still. I have tested negative since. But me being a good man wanted to grab here some good dinner. And the oasis is always known for great food. So we made the drive there. My dad and I. So not even five minutes being there the chef which by the way was drinking off of shift which is totally fine but let me.be clear he was not working took it upon himself to blast me and my father in front of the whole bar and make a huge issue how it's a small town and "we all know what you guys have" which my wife is born amd raised in castlerock so a little humility and concern I would of expected from them but no the exact opposite we were treated like leopards and told by the owner and multiple staff members loudly that if we were to be there we were to keep our masks on at all time. Which is fine and we had no problem with that. But then the chef kept saying things across the bar about my family and I. So I paid for drinks and proceeded to leave and then he tried to act like a bouncer and make me leave which I let him know that he is not to talk me that way and treat me like a leopard. I did nothing wrong. All this time the whole bar is looking at me and my father like we are aliens. The kicker is that not one person in the bar was wearing a mask. Not even the staff. Which is against the law by the way. If you all were so worried maybe following the guidelines would help protect you I guess. The right thing to do would have been to pull me aside quietly and show some concern for my wife for one and wish her good health and two ask me politely to keep my mask on while I was in the bar which I would have no questions asked.
