Great space with spacious interior that includes a no kid zone, a porch and varied seating. Not a lot in the way of food.

This venue is awesome. Really big with some great outdoor seating, I had a flight of their brews and there wasn't one that I didn't like. Stop in if you're passing through town and give them a try. New location! Back open! - October 1st 2021 So much bigger than their old location. Several different kinds of craft beer. They have food onsite with several different options. The atmosphere and size of the building is awesome so much room. Service is great. Most of the Parking is street parking but it's not that bad, plenty of places to park. read more

It's been a long time coming. Astown is finally open!! The new place is very spacious and it still has the same friendly vibe as the old location. Today they were projecting the seahawk game. Didn't try out the food but it looked really good. I tried the reckless hazy ipa. It was good but it was not my style. They have a great beer selection from the ones I have tried. First time here and both of us were delighted with the experience. Love local breweries. The service was friendly, informative, helpful, and inviting. My husband loves IPAs, I love pretty much anything but IPAs . We were both happy with the beers. I had a taster flight like I typically do the first visit to a new brewery. Every single beer I tried was extremely well thought out and presented unique flavors that worked really well together. The brew master came by to check on us after we had tasted the beers. We both really enjoyed the jalapeño beer. He explained where he picked the peppers and how he used them in the brew process. I love love love when the people that create are also out on the floor talking to guests. Thank you so much. We had the spicy Italian flatbread. It was good and went well with the beer . The drizzle of honey on the spicy pizza was a winner. We will definitely be back soon. read more

Great beer selection and they were all delicious! The vibe here is chill, because they have a big open front area, so you can sit inside and still watch the outside traffic. Well, it's been at least 6 months since we have gone to Ashtown, First the beer is no better even though we had heard that they finally found a brewer, Food is still limited and that is giving them the benefit of the doubt. This place had 10$ tasters what more can you ask for! You can try 8 different taps. Not a large place, but was a great place to stop by on our way to Oregon. Was not too far off I5. They had a Lemon Lavendar cider that was amazing on tap there. We didnt see much parking so that was probably my biggest worry, but luckily we found a place along the road. read more

Ashtown was the first brewery that I hit while on a small brewery tour from Longview to Centrailia. I only got one beer here since it was in fact a tour and more beer was to come. At Ashtown I got the Red Razz Wheat. It was a fairly enjoyable beer but it wasn't especially memorable either. The taproom has a good atmosphere and the service is performed cheerfully. Upon closer inspection I saw that they have seasonal beers which I took more of an interest in and would probably have enjoyed more but I did not see them on tap while I was here. For example they have a Coconut Porter, a Blackberry IPA and a Chardonnay Blonde. I really would have liked to try the Chardonnay one but alas it was not available when I was there. All the more reason for another visit in the future! read more

So we had this place recommended by MTB friends. We tried once before on an weekend and they were too busy - no place to sit or stand inside. The howling winds outdoors and an event scheduled to start motivated us to another place with the commitment to come back and try this place another time. There is limited seating for a tap room with a food cart adjacent. There approximately 8-10 tables an bar seating. Even during the busiest time there is only a single person taking orders and serving beer. Staff had good knowledge of the beer. It was too busy for any real interaction time. The beer was good - we tried the porter and an imperial IPA. The IPA was very hoppy and unlike most imperials it didn't have the string alcohol taste which was refreshing. The porter was fairly smooth with a slight nutty undertone. One thing to note, which is why the rating is only three stars, Yelp has a $1 off offer with checkin. The staff would not honor the $1. The response was "they aren't honoring that anymore". Have Yelp remove the offer if it is not going to be honored! Try the food cart - Eaterations, that serves inside the tap room. It is a significant draw for this place! read more

They have an amazing sour if you are into them. So far, the best NW sour I've had. Just came from BC and they do sours right up there. Space is great for hanging out and relaxing indoors or out. Looks like they have great bbq after 6pm too. Wish I could stay to try it. read more

This was one of our favorite stops on our trip to the Portland area. Thank you Google maps for revealing this gem when we asked it what breweries were nearby. The name obviously derives from the Mt. St. Helens eruption in 1980 and the bartender told us that the town still has to deal with the ash. Longview sits on the Cowlitz river and gets its drinking water (and brewing water) from the river. They still have to filter and manage the ash, because the particles are so rough they will chew up the water pipes and cause lead contamination if they aren't careful. We enjoyed all the beers here (particularly the Ashplosion Pale Ale) as well as the Eaterations food truck across the street. A great pairing if there ever was one. read more

Just came in for the first time to fill a few growlers. The bartender was really friendly and knowledge about their selection. Really enjoyed all three beers she helped me choose. This town has two breweries...if this town had 10...it's still the one I would visit! Lean Tap List...but it allows you to try them all! And they are all very tasty...their worst is still better than the best of the other brewery in town. The food cart across the street is what completes the deal...I guess that demands a separate review; however, having access to it here demands some respect too. Tis a warm cozy place when it's cold and rainy out, some great tunes playing, and solid nibbles to delight in...it's a great stop on the road to Seattle...one that I'll be making on future trips for sure! read more

Passing thru from Astoria to Portland and wanted to check out a local brewery. Came with our dog and before we could even ask the bartender told us we are dog friendly inside or outside. The staff is VERY friendly and more then willing to answer any questions and give you all the details on all of their drinks. You can have a drink with friends and not worry about any of the issues you could run into at a traditional "bar".
