We were walking along the beach with our dogs and noticed this cute little place. It was getting close to dinner and I noticed people outside on the deck eating and having drinks. We went into the ""cabin" and asked if our dogs were allowed outside on the deck. ""Yes!" ""of course they are.". So we sat at a cute little corner table (see pic) and enjoyed a yummy bite to eat. (See pic). Great prices, wonderful service, and beautiful view.

What a waste. Great location, came in, stood next to the "Order Here" sign for a couple of minutes while the bartender yucked it up with a customer. They didn't acknowledge us until we walked out, when she gave us a snarky "bye guys". Such poor form.

Ahles Point Cabin bar overlooks the Columbia River in Kalama, Washington. It features indoor seating and a great outdoor area with a fireplace. Currently, they only serve beer and wine, but spirits will be available soon. Ahles Point Cabin bar in located in Kalama ,Washington Bartenders are the best Enjoy

Love the wine flight we had at the cabin!

What a fun detour from the main Mcmenamins Kalama Harbor location. This little cabin is a part of Mcmenamins but isn't connected to the main lodge. On a pleasant day you can stroll down a walking path from the lodge to the cabin along the always scenic Columbia River. It's about a ten minute walk between the two buildings and the river bank is sandy so you can stroll down there off the walking path and get closer to the river and enjoy the sand. At the cabin you can order food like pizzas for example which would be an intriguing option. There is a bar in the cabin and you can get beer, cider and wine. Steve and I did a flight of Edgefield wine which was excellent and we bought a bottle in the gift shop of one of the wines we had. While there isn't a large amount of seating in the cabin on a Friday afternoon there were plenty of empty seats but I'm sure it gets busier on the weekends and the space here could be a challenge but if it's nice out I saw outside seating too. The fireplace in here was going and the wood that was being burnt smelled great! The waitress here was awesome and very approachable and friendly. She didn't let us forget that there were secret rooms to find at the main lodge which is a trademark of Mcmenamins and some of their hotels.

Outstanding service from Jeremy - he really went the extra mile! Friendly, attentive, thoughtful, very helpful, and a great conversationalist while never getting too long-winded. My hubs and I enjoyed a great game of chess on the adorable miniature glass chess set here (I won - yeah!). They also have cribbage and a few other board games too. We were warned immediately that the food would take 35 - 40 minutes, so we ordered a couple of bags of chips to tide us over and enjoyed the impressively awesome indoor fireplace before moving outside to the patio to watch the sun set over the river while eating our dinner. Hubs got the Terminator Stout and the Turkey Sandwich, and he loved both. I got the 1/2 Aztec Salad, the 8" BBQ Hammerhead Pizza (with gluten-free crust for $3 extra, yay!), and the delightfully-tart Crangerine Dream Hard Cider. I loved all 3 of them. Ahle's Point Cabin is part of McMenamin's, so if you're staying there (we were), you can put your tab on your room fees if you like - very convenient. Getting to Ahle's Point Cabin is an easy 5-minute walk from the McMenamin's main lodge through the lovely riverfront Louis Rasmussen Day Park. In addition to the indoor fireplace, there is an outdoor fireplace on the patio too! Jeremy also gave blankets to each customer on the patio as the sun began to sink below the hills and the air started to get much colder. So nice! We'd go back to this place anytime!

Super cool little location serves beer and wine products. No mix drinks / liquor. Has a food menu. Seats mg appears to be plentiful including an outside patio area with a fire place. Really cool little place. Sit and watch the ships go by why you have a bite to eat and sip something to drink.

It's a great little stand alone cabin about half a mile from the Kalama main dock house. It's simple but well decorated in Mcmenamins style. The drinks are refreshing and served at the bar. The menu is light but good with an amazing mushrooms dish. The view is perfect on a nice sunny day you can enjoy it from one of the many tables in their outdoor seating.

If you go to lots of McMenamins it might be worth getting the passport.

No food was coming out of the kitchen, and we watched the table next to us get up and leave after waiting for an hour and only getting an anemic looking single appetizer, and still waiting for drinks. They were upset, but we stayed because we were not in a hurry. The food was terrible. Waited an hour for an unceremonious plate of six or so dumplings the size of Hershey's kisses. That charcuterie plate other reviews talked about? It took 45 minutes and was very disappointing. I'll post a photo. We heard the waiter and cook cursing at each other- not good. Nice beer list, weak wine list. The Pinot Noir is Wine by Joe. Don't go.

Intentionally set earlier in the day understanding the significance of the day. (Been together over 20 years.) When we arrived my husband kindly requested a window table with view of the water. The woman taking the reservation info advised that she would try, but "so busy" etc. We were sat at a half circular booth that was facing water but set back from water. I just want to note there were 7 tables open at window seating. 3 of which were 2 tops. We did have 3, so essentially for us, 4 EMPTY tables could have accommodated our request. 2 remained empty the entirety of our meal. So I just can't understand why this request wouldn't be granted. Waitress we were assigned was amazing. On top of things, refills etc. We got the wing appetizer, cheese curds, and the wedge salad as appetizers. They were all good. The wings I would get with no sauce. The sauce on them was very ketchup reminiscent. For the entrees we both did the steak frites. Fries were amazing. The steak was sooooo tough. Medium rare didn't save them. Our child got the half pizza and demolished. For dessert we got the cookie with ice cream and the valentines special cheesecake. Both were delicious. Overall 3.5. Could use some help at front. If you don't realize you have that many free tables and could easily accommodate a paying customer the table they prefer, it just simply doesn't make sense. At the end, I did ask manager why we wouldn't be able to sit where we requested and there really was just no good reason. It was just a shrug like it was a busy day. Like I guess maybe saving for make believe guests?? LOL unreal. It's not often I would question things. But this was just absurd. Again, I need to say, our waitress was amazing. Food was fine. Just a very weird experience as far as seating. Like who are you saving those seats for?? Anywho. Enjoy!

We had planned to hit a local pizza joint before coming home as we traditionally have pizza on Friday nights. Planning ahead, I found The Oasis and looking at reviews and pics, decided to try it. Boy ... are certainly glad we did! Looking at it from the outside, it looks more like a regular bar than a family-friendly bar/grill/restaurant. However, there is a sign that says children are welcome. We've got two boys under the age of six and our waitress was wonderful with them. She was friendly to us all, made sure we all had what we needed throughout the night, and was understanding of the "immediate" needs of the kids. Ha! The food was amazing! The pizza was straight out a real Midwestern style of pizza --- with the toppings underneath the cheese! Living most of our lives in IL and MN, we know what's what. The crust was crimped and just perfect - crispy on the outer edges and chewy on the inside. It was also crisp enough on the bottom that the pieces didn't sag or fall apart with picking it up. We ordered two pizzas, one sausage and one just cheese. They both were great. The sausage tasted amazingly fresh and I wondered if they got it from a local butcher, it was so tender and flavorful. With the cheese being spread out all over the top of the pizza (remember, on top of the toppings), it was deliciously golden brown and not overly greasy. We also ordered a side of Mini Corn Dogs for the boys and they both liked them. Which, for those of you with kids, if both give it a thumbs up then you're in business. =) As for tasty beverages, they've got a selection of about 20 or so beers to choose from. We had the Scottish Red Ale and the African Amber. Oh my! They were soooo good. If I didn't have to drive 30 minutes home, I would've definitely gotten a third! We saw on their menu that they offer "take and bake" pizzas as well. After getting just a few slices through our meal, we flagged the waitress down and ordered two pizzas to go. We threw them in the freezer when we got home and have had both since then. They last just fine in the two weeks since we got them (baked at 425 degrees from frozen for about 20-ish minutes). All in all, we had a perfect time at The Oasis Bar. They are, hands-down, the BEST pizza we've had while living in Lewis and Thurston Counties! It's about a 35 minutes drive from home ... but well worth it. We will absolutely be back!
