It's important to set expectations. Frosty's is a fun, dive bar, lot's of laughter and a little loud, but it's a great place to hang out with friends. The food is good (and sometimes unexpectedly great), and the service staff is awesome! We had a great time on New Years eve and had steak with shrimp which were excellent. Out Harley riding and have passed this place many times and the parking lot is usually full. Signs out front advertise breakfast so it was time to check it out. Had the steak and eggs with tots. Frosty's has been open since 1901. Let's let that sink in for just a minute. The sheer amount of time this establishment has been open and the fact they cannot cook food adequately without it tasting like rotted food in a compost bin is alarming. Brace yourself as this review will be extensive and thorough. When you walk into the establishment which praises itself as a bar and grill it instantly becomes reminiscent of a hole in the wall had been wish it was bar. This place smells of mildew and mold mixed with sweat, vomit and regret. The interior decoration is a combination of old, older and your grandfathers brothers old shop filled with a menagerie of assorted old signs and outdated memories. And for you ladies, fyi the bathroom door is next to the jukebox and doesn't lock or close fully. Be prepared to bare it all!!! But that's not what you should focus on. The place is half full at 12 noon on Saturday. Half of the customers look 6 drinks in and a headache to go. Then while you're waiting for acknowledgment from the waitstaff you catch the reminiscent odor of old musty cigarettes. The menu is sticky like your creepy uncle was the last one who held it. The food was "frosty" just without the icicles. The burger was well past charred. It reminded me of Satans scrub brush that was ready for the incinerator. The bacon was more like pork flavored saw dust. Don't worry it'll only set you back $1.50. But wait there's more, the burger was formed by hand. It looked like a deformed burger that had more in common with a rock. Now when you get a burger you naturally assume it's gonna be on a hamburger bun, so when the frostys 1/2 pound concoction from hell arrives on a hotdog bun sprinkled with seeds you are instantaneously confused as to who would come up with such a oddity. Needless to say the fry sauce was the most satisfying thing they serve. I'll take a cup to go. Now as for the tater tots, Jo Jo's and chicken strips, that are fried in oil and had clearly that outdated the last ice age you can taste nothing but ancient, filthy, and burned fryer oil. The batter on the chicken strips slid off at ease similar to one sliding down the nearest water slide amusement park. This place not only gets two thumbs down but also a will never visit again promise from not only me but from the other three victims to the atrocity committed upon our taste buds. Lastly I leave you with our exit. The patrons. If your a sons of anarchy fan, feel free to drop by as you will find this establishment to be a favorite amongst the biker gangs. Only this crew that showed up came with knitted cuts and not made of leather. I've never seen so many knitted vests in my life in one room before. It was like gang was holding their exclusively own quit show, only clad in leather and with chains and tats too. I stopped in here with a couple of friends who highly recommended the place. To me, it seemed like your average everyday dive bar. There's definitely nothing wrong with that, as I've been to a few of them in Tacoma and enjoyed my visits. Here, I ordered their jalapeno poppers and a tangerine IPA. The poppers were pretty good but the ale was a bit "off". Hopefully, if they have rotating taps, they replace it with something else. Their prices are reasonable, which is typical for your hole-in-the-wall.. Lets start from the beginning, I look around SO many cars, it was a Friday through, I see a woman smoking next to a toilet that has DOZENS OF DOZENS of cigar butts and ashe, I walk in to see a packed place. We go to a seat and she asks us "hi! What do you want for a drink?" we tell her and about 7 mins later we get them they were GREAT I definitely recommend the Shirley temple shortly she comes back to place our order. We order the food then wait about 51 mins for our appetizer then about 61 mins for the rest but if the waiter would not have said this and done this my review would be a lot lower. She said "I'm so so sorry for the wait., but all of your drinks are covered and you get free meal the next time you come!" she was so sweet the only reason I gave this place a 4 is because of the cigarettes read more

Excellent, excellent dive bar. Frosty's is one of the oldest bars in Washington under one name and in one building. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Frosty's offers a full bar and a nice selection of local craft beers. Indoors is old and mismatched which adds to the charm. The wooden floors slant. The upstairs area (off limits) used to be an operating brothel from the '20's to the mid '40's. The staff members claim the bar is haunted. What fun stories we heard. There is a single pool table for those interested in pool. Pull tabs are offered as well.The bar stools are numbered for drinking games. To play the drinking games, one must me seated on a bar stool while the nearby train passes (about every 30 minutes). The bar staff then pulls a number out of their basket. If the number pulled matches your bar stool number, then your next drink (any drink) is free (beer, mixed, shot). TV's are old (CVT style) but operating. There is a large outdoor seating area to be enjoyed during the warmer months. During our visit, there were a considerable amount of locals enjoying the salad bar. Always a good sign. Frosty's doesn't offer frills. Frosty's offers a rich history, inexpensive food and drinks and most importantly fun. Staff members appeared to enjoy their jobs and were familiar and friendly with all the regular patrons. We ate here once in 2016 I think. The food was good. I was surprised they didn't have milkshakes. I think it's more of a "frosty glass" of beer kind of place. The server seemed a bit preoccupied with her boyfriend rather than checking on if we had everything we needed. But over all it was good. Menu is hit and miss. Fried veggies appetizer is a hit with lots to share. Biscuits (kinda small and flat) and Gravy (no sausage scrapple in the gravy) were ok but definitely on the salty side...same with the chicken fried steak which was definitely a frozen mystery patty out of a plastic bag. The pancakes are nothing to write home about. The scrambled eggs were tasty and had a nice 'grill' flavor to them. Wouldn't go out of my way to stop here. read more

What an absolute dump. Came in on a Thursday evening. Sat there for 15 minutes. Finally someone took my order. The food was blah and took forever. Waitress never came back to check on me or refill my drink. The customers were loud, obnoxious and over served. While eating I got to listen to the people in the table next to me cud's each other out. A couple arguing loudly. I finished eating and couldn't get my bill. Horrible. No seriously. We walked in and got a "frosty" greeting from an older woman with short gray hair. By that i mean she looked at us with a turned up nose. Super smooty. Really??? So we sit. And we wait. I can see from my seat lady gray hair washing dishes, while a dark haired lady behind the bar answered the phone a few times (at one point snapped at and hung up on a customer) and tended to a few other things that were more important then us. Background: funky, local, older-than-dirt watering hole and diner. They have nightly dinner specials that are cheap and pretty darned tasty. The fried chicken is on Sunday and exceedingly nummy. Now the bad news: It usually takes anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes for the fried chicken. We've been in there 5 or 6 times and this time took some visiting friends from out of town in. After raving about the place and all, we were crashingly disappointed. When we ordered, we got the usual "it's 45 minutes for chicken". Ok, we'll have a drink. Meanwhile herds of phone orders came in and picked up. Second drink.....were told "5 more minutes". Half an hour later, were told "4 more minutes". Various folks coming and going, getting food quickly. Then someone made a comment that we should get served as we might be locals. Really? Seriously? Waitress had vast excuses and apologies. Said she was surprised that it didn't take this long all the time, blah, blah, blah. Gimmee a break. It's chicken, not Beef frickin' Wellington. And who gives a rat's butt if we looked local enough? I've heard great things about this place so I wanted to check it out. We went for a late lunch/early dinner and found it comfortable, friendly and inviting. My friend had the fried chicken that they make to order and it was quite good. They even have it on special on Sundays. In fact, they have a different special every evening, starting at 5pm. So you're probably wondering, at this point, why only 2 stars? It's because of my order: the mushroom swiss burger was served with canned mushrooms! Why have that on the menu if you're going to use canned mushrooms? People who like mushrooms like fresh mushrooms and it's so easy to saute up a bunch of mushrooms, freeze them in daily batches and use them that way. Plus, the place had the aroma of rancid oil... Frosty's is a very popular, funky tavern (with a full bar) in a small town. The place gets quite busy during the dinner hour, so we choose to get there in the mid afternoon whenever possible, especially if we are going to order the chicken. The food is always great. The salad bar is excellent and the plates are huge. The prices are low and the wait staff is engaging and sweet. Kids are welcome in the place until 9pm. The environment is a little bit country, retro, biker, trash with just the right amount of dive thrown in for that, "I can't believe I found this joint!" feel. Sign out back says, "established 1901" and the menu inside the back door is signed by all the members of Molly Hatchet. Doesn't get cooler than that. read more
