A group of us are in town for work for a few months and we come here every Wednesday for wing night. The wings and beer are amazing, and the staff is the best. They are very on top of prepping to serve our size of group (8+ people) on top of everyone else in the restaurant. I'd recommend to anyone passing through or staying in town! read more

Passing thru on my way from LA to Seattle found this place on yelp. The ambiance is definitely of a local bar that people might stop to have a drink after a hard day of work. I even had to ask if it was ok if kids can come in, they said yes. The waitress suggested the peanut butter burger with bacon added. My husband, sister and I all ordered it and we were all very pleased, so much so we even came by again on our trip back home. It was a great find! You get what you pay for here! It may be a little higher than some places, but, wow do you get great food and plenty of it! Family friendly! Very laid back and great staff! Recommended; Club Sandwich, Soup, Steak Night, Chef Salad, Cheesecake, Onion Rings, French Dip, Fries, Hamburger, and Tater Tots! Stopped here based on the reviews while passing through. There was only 1 other table and our food still took an hour. While our server was nice he was by himself. I don't mind paying $21 for a burger but the PB burger was terrible. The patty was so small and overcooked to the point of barely being edible. There was also no cheese on our club sandwich. We have been here several times since covid and deeply appreciate this place. Today we came for lunch and couldn't be happier. The bar is constantly being cleaned. The entire staff is masked and stay that way. Tables are set up to ensure they follow the state health guidelines and the staff is amazing. Their menu Isn't expansive but it sure is tasty. And seriously the club sandwich I had today will literally feed me for 2 days. I had to cut it into 8ths just to get my big ass mouth around it. We found this spot while looking for somewhere to eat on the way to Portland that wasn't some crappy fast food chain, and McFilers was the only place serving real food that was open, so we gave it a shot and we were not disappointed! Love this place! Zane was behind the bar- and lucky us! We had the Old Irish (Irish Whiskey Old- fashioned) which was perfect! We paired our drinks with some Mac n cheese bites - yeah! Be careful you might drive right past McFilers and you will be missing out on some of the best food in Chehalis. Seek and find this upcoming location for some good grub. While you can't go wrong with tater tots and other great pub grub, it is the Alfredo pasta that you are after. Perfectly cooked pasta topped with a decadent, rich, perfectly made alfredo sauce. Friday nights you can get the seafood version or Saturday for "all you can eat pasta" you have chicken or prawn options (I keep hoping for a steak option). The dish comes with salad which is always fresh and the homemade blue cheese dressing is a must have; hands down my favorite. McFilers also has some specialty burgers that receive rave reviews; I know, I know...peanut butter on a burger sounds weird, but it is carefully crafted and a must try. If you are in to any kind of vodka drop style drink, ask Zane to make you a blueberry sidecare. It is delish! For such a small kitchen the cooks back there are rockin it and five stars could easily be obtained with some more seasoning to the specialty dishes and their proteins. We had been to McFiler's a handful of times, each trip declining in quality and service. The food is decent, but when we go out we look for stellar service. This place consistently under delivers. Sadly this morning's breakfast was our last trip. The couple next to us had been there before us, had waited 45 minutes when I asked them on their breakfast order; our order a full hour before receiving. NOT OK. Please note there were only six tables that had diners. No check back on how our breakfast was, had to go up to the bar to ask for a box and our check. NOT OK. We got a gift card for this restaurant. We thought we'd treat ourselves to the Ribeye. The menu says ribeye steak, baked potato and salad for $31. When the server took our order we were informed that the baked potato is only available with the ribeye dinner on Mondays and Thursdays. This was not stated on the menu. She said We could substitute with soup or A different side like french fries, Jojos or onion rings. Steve ordered the tomato soup and I ordered the JoJos. The dinner salads were all good with the exception of the cucumbers which were borderline. my ranch dressing was thick and a little chunky which was weird for ranch, It tasted OK though. The steaks were both cooked really well and tasted great. When the check came we were charged $4 for the tomato soup and $3 for the the JoJos. We asked about being charged for them and she just said "oh yeah it's extra for those things (like yeah )". Ok...so, Total $80. I gave her the code for the gift card which was for $75 and she comes back and says that covered it and there is no balance. So if you're interested in having a great steak, a pretty good salad and good service and willing to deal with an inaccurate menu and staff that may or may not confuse or be confused, this is the place for you! read more

I see these five star reviews and it makes me sad that I did t share the same experience as the others. This was my second visit to McFilers. On both occasions the bartender with the mohawk (I don't know his name). The first time we went we requested a drink he wasn't familiar with, which is fine since they're super easy to make. He came across very displeased about us still wanting them. All it was was Coors Light, OJ, and a splash of Amaretto. So much attitude from the opposite side of the bar made it an uncomfortable experience. The second time we decided to try them out, last night, was basically the same thing. Except this time, after sitting at the bar, making eye contact and being completely ignored. Not great. Maybe I just have a bad resting bitch face that makes him not like me, I'm not sure. What I do know is that we most likely won't be back. Edit 5/13/19: Edit: At first my review was only about bad service. Now, it's about business practice on top of bad service. I think many people leave negative reviews for businesses not to be malicious, but to offer constructive criticism of complaints people may have. Instead of using my "One Star" review as that, a representative of this business decided the best move was to go to Facebook and post a screenshot of my picture, with a derogatory message. Out of courtesy, I have blocked out their face and name on their post, that I have included in my review. I would like to see this business thrive in our small community. This place is amazing! It was very welcoming we went with a big group 6 adults 2 kids and a baby. They were serving breakfast/brunch and the servers were very nice and accommodating to all of our needs. The food came out all at the same time and all hot! The bloody Mary's were very very tasty too. The decor is very hip and clean and it looks like the place could have some serious potential to host some great music events. We hit this place about a year ago and had great service and good food. We went back by on our way back north to the Tacoma area and unfortunately it has gone downhill. I understand with the last few years that it is hard to find help and prices have gone up. But $18 for a cheeseburger? That is outrageous for a simple bar like this. The bartender was also the cook. That is never a good thing. Service was very slow and it was not the bartenders fault. She did her best and kept a smile. As a business owner I can tell you that having two people on staff will more than make up the difference in the cost of the employee. Two beverages and you've paid for an employee for an hour. Bring the prices down and get more business. The facility was clean. I would suggest opening the curtains for more natural light during the day. And also moving the stage to the front left of the door. The stage is huge and overcomes the general seating area. We may give this one more chance but not for sure. read more
