We had a WONDERFUL experience today. With the holidays coming up I was worried we couldn't get someone to come out Thanksgiving week to install crown molding. I spoke with Debra at the office and she was so polite and more than willing to help us. Brian Melancon was our contractor and he showed up right on time. He moved all the furniture and got right to work. He worked quickly and quietly, the work he did was perfect, we were thrilled with the finished work. We will definitely have TT back to our house for more projects. read more

The Trusted Toolbox - Handyman Near Me - Norcross, Georgia

I needed a contractor to do a complete renovation of my master bathroom. The project had some urgency, as part of the bathroom had to be demolished for a completely unrelated repair issue. TTT came out and gave a fair initial estimate. Their project manager, Randy, followed up with a two-hour walk-through of all of the details of the project. He provided a revised estimate based on everything we discussed. I signed off immediately, and wanted to know next steps--i.e., I'll pay you some money and let's get on a calendar. No response for THREE WEEKS. Not even an acknowledgment along the lines of: Yes, I received your email signing off on our work order and inquiring about how you can give me a huge check; I will respond in xx days. NOTHING. After wondering for a few days if Randy had fallen down a well or if a mini-apocalypse had hit only TTT, I gave up and started interviewing new contractors. On the very day I inked a deal with a new contractor I received a pathetic voice mail from Randy apologizing for being "covered up"--for 3 weeks!--and "unable to deliver the service I deserve." Clearly, a company that cannot take charge of the part of the process that's important to it--i.e., collecting money and getting work started--doesn't deserve my trust in performing the part of the job that's important to me--i.e., quality work on my home. Believe the negative reviews. This company does not have its act together. read more

We recently had Trusted Toolbox replace three bath vanities, repair an electrical outlet and install another electrical outlet. They made the project seamless from the initial call, being on budget, doing a great job, and cleaning up. We worked with Edd Konopka in their office and Ted Weth was the Toolbox worker at our house. Thanks guys for the completed project, we wont hesitate to use you again. Jeff H. read more

Ron and Jamil did a fantastic job! We had multiple minor drywall repair and paint matching items that built up over time and they came out here and took care of them in short order. Paint matches perfectly, passes the eye test to the point where we won't even remember anything was done in a couple days. I also wanted to point out how professional and pleasant Ron and Jamil were as well; they took care of everything, made us feel at ease and we had confidence the job would be done right. Special thanks to Deborah for fitting us in early after a cancellation. We will definitely be using The Trusted Toolbox again. Bonus: Jamil will also sing Michael Jackson for your entertainment when it streams on Pandora! read more

Ron T. did a great job on my office today! Needed a wall repaired and painted and I am very satisfied with the work he did. Ron T. was extremely professional, well-mannered and friendly. THANKS! read more

Do not hire them. The workers were sloppy and left a mess in the home. The supervising contractor was not honest and continually looked for the quick fix instead of doing the job the correct way. They offered me a days labor as compensation but then they turned around and added the same charges to other areas of my invoice. They have not bothered to contact me to fix a toilet that is not installed correctly. The workers were not supervised and although they tell you that they train and pay their own workers this is often not true. I woudl never reccomend this business. read more

I called Trusted Toolbox to check out a leaking window above my front entry door. I did mention when I made this appointment the size, and how high up it was. I was able to get an appointment quickly. When the man came out and saw the window, the first thing he said is "I'm an older man and don't climb up that high." I thought to myself, then why did they send you? I was clear when I made the appointment. He then spent the next 15 minutes or so trying to find the name brand on the windows throughout my house. What that really had to do with anything, I'm not sure. Especially since the leaking window was different than all others in the house. At the end of it all he says he needs to send out a technician which will cost $185 just to come out, not including any work, that was just a "diagnostic fee." This was the end of August, never heard from them again. read more

I am in property management, so believe me when I say that the service level that this company provided was far below expectations. While fixing some rotten wood on my house they improperly nailed toe-braces to my roof, and failed to seal the holes. They also left another job half finished. Two days later after a rain, my kitchen ceiling had several large wet spots under the work area. Getting them to come back out to simply fix what they had broken was like pulling teeth. Debra Handshuh with the company had to be dragged into doing anything, and even then they did a half-baked job repainting the ceiling, and refusing to finish the cut-in job. They left the project worse than it was before they came. Buyer beware! read more

Trusted Toolbox repaired rotting wood under my windows. This is my 2nd job I had them work on my home. They were professional in almost every aspect, from the estimate, the worker, and the amount of dedication of Ron. (I will admit in agreeing on one of the reviewers is that there's only a hand full of good workers, Ron has been the best) I say almost because there was a slight scheduling/miscommunication error; I scheduled an appointment for repair after the estimate, then about a few months later, haven't heard/email/phone call to confirm the appointment, the day before the appointment I called to realize that we had to reschedule the appointment to a later time because of the a sick worker. Which I was disappointed because I had already asked for that day off and that Trusted Toolbox didn't give me a notice. Regardless, I had to get it fixed ASAP because my HOA was trying to threaten to me. The day Ron came to fix my windows, he was extremely kind, wanted to get to work asap and he did. Unfortunately, whoever assigned this repair was only going to take 4 hours should fired because it didn't. Trusted Toolbox had another assignment for Ron during the afternoon on the day I had planned my repair for months. In the end, Ron knew he couldn't finish the job in 4 hours so he personally came back towards the end of the afternoon and stayed as late as he could until the job was finished. Ron repaired my windows until 10pm that evening. In the end, I was so happy with the work that Ron did; the willingness and dedication have it completed in a day. Thank you Ron!! read more

Trusted Toolbox stands behind their work 100%. The owner, Chris, is a great guy who's on top of the jobs undertaken by his crews. I'm very happy with the outcome of the work I've contracted with them to complete on my house. I've worked with too many contractors who don't give a flip. This company works hard to make sure their customers are completely satisfied. Worth a lot in my book. read more

My experience started off ok but quickly went down hill. I called on 4/3/14 to schedule an appointment for an estimate. I was told the contractor would be out around 10:00am on 4/14/14 so I took off work. Waited around that day and finally called around 12:00 and talked to Janessa to find out if we were still on and was told I wasn't showing on anyones schedule but they would fit me in with Jeff for 4:30 that afternoon. He showed up and from the start was very arrogant and made it very clear that he didn't want to be there because he "hadn't even had a chance to go to the office today". He looked at everything we needed looked at, told my husband he needed to "be a big boy and call the insurance company to cover the repairs." Then said we'd have an estimate within a week. A week came and went and still no estimate. On April 21st I emailed Janessa and asked her what the status of our estimate was, she said she would get with Jeff and have him send us one. Another 2 weeks went by so I emailed Janessa again on May 5th to let her know I still hadn't received an estimate. It's been a week and I haven't heard back from her or Jeff. Extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and Jeff's extremely unprofessional attitude, I wasted a day off work, will not refer this company to ANY of my friends with home improvement needs! read more

January 18, 2019. If there was a no star rating I would use that! It has taken over five months to get 2 bathrooms upgraded, one needed the wallpaper removed, painted, and new fixtures...it is being completed today...the other needed a complete overhaul including the installation of a walk-in tub and new toilet. I have been at least three months with no toilet in my bathroom. First the wrong tub was installed and tiled in...it had to be exchanged and three walls of tile were completely removed in the process. Since tile was to go behind the toilet the toilet could not go in and it took way too long to get it retiled. The project manager was at fault for putting in the wrong tub. Additionally, in my opinion, he has no scheduling ability as people came too late to finish the job in one day or overlapped with others who were not able to work because of space; he has no concept of detail, for example an electric outlet was installed in the wrong room after I had shown him where it was to go and even emailed him a picture of the placement. I could go on with all the mistakes made but that would fill a book. read more

This was a very, very painful experience. The estimator changes his estimate by over 15% (500+ dollars) after I told him I agreed to use their company. The workers, while nice, did not do quality work. I was told that the job would take about 4-5 days. That was a pipe dream. They entire job took over 4 weeks and workers had to come back numerous times to do the job correct. It wasn't until Chris, the owner, personally came out and finished the work that I was satisfied. Chris, the owner made the job complete but the process leading up to that was an absolute train wreck. Unfortunately I can not, in good faith, recommend this company. I will not be using them again. I will tread very lightly using companies recommended on Dale Cardwell's website. read more

After taking off work for an estimate and then waiting several weeks for my Saturday appointment, I received a call 10 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time telling me they were not coming due to weather and that someone would call me Monday to reschedule. I was upstairs getting the dog situated for what I assumed was a full day of workers and missed the call. Of note, it was NOT raining, but it had rained earlier/overnight. They were due to replace some outdoor trim and repair some dry rot. The trim certainly could have been replaced despite the weather. It was sunny the rest of the day and the other wood dried by early afternoon. However, what I'm most upset about is that I heard NOTHING from the company until Tuesday afternoon when I got a voicemail and email that both said, "My tech called you a few times on Saturday the 21st of July and he did not get an answer, we were scheduled for a day of handyman services, please let me know if you need to be rescheduled." I wrote back and explained I received ONE call and was told my work was cancelled. How unprofessional to make it sound like I was the one who caused the work not to be done!! I received a prompt reply asking when I would be available to reschedule. I promptly replied saying I needed the work done as soon as possible due to other contractors already being on hold. It is now a week and a half later. I have heard nothing. Zero. Zilch. This company clearly doesn't want my business. read more

Don't trust this company!! Hired them to do general handyman work in my house - replace caulking in bathrooms, put up light fixtures in the basement and ensure that electrical work was completed, replace some rotten baseboards for windows and some railing on my deck etc. Two young people were sent out for 5 days "completed the job" when there were still wires hanging out of the wall, plates not installed on light switches and plug plates, electrical wiring not completed in the basement, rotten wood covered up with a light layer of wood putty and painted over (I could put my finger in the wood!) and they didn't want to take the time to stain the boards replaced on the veranda so left with my veranda being 3 colors, and basement furniture was covered with sheet rock dust etc. I could go on and on! When I refused to settle the bill until work was appropriately completed, I received invoices indicating that I was "past due", the tone of staff was impolite when I communicated problems I had with their workers, they increased the price by $650.00 for the job for having their handymen return to appropriately complete the job without discussing it with me, and the manager threatened that he would use other means to get me to pay the bill - just 2 days after the workers left. As it stands now, I'm going to have to replace the caulking in the bathrooms myself - even though I was charged $300.00 to have this work done, adjust the doggie door etc. Bottom line - DO NOT trust this company with your work!! read more

As promised to the Owner, and GM of The Trusted Toolbox, I am following up on my original review. Chris, the Owner, and Edd, the GM became involved in my renovation project. They did make a punch list at my request to attempt to address the multitude of issues we had throughout this project. It did include items which were not on the original estimate. In addition, they came to the property to meet with me face to face. I appreciate their involvement. They were not able to address most of the issues without causing further damage. However, their explanation was very thorough and detailed. In the case of the tile job, they would have had to start over. We settled our differences face to face. I wish our experience had been different. Most of the issues were due to the sub contractors they hired or the lack of communication from the PM. I am disappointed the owner chose to place the blame on his customer and not take responsibility for their failures. read more
